vanity_n and_o worldliness_n and_o negligence_n of_o the_o rest_n that_o his_o life_n be_v a_o burden_n to_o he_o and_o he_o can_v no_o more_o enjoy_v himself_o in_o such_o family_n then_o in_o a_o fair_a or_o popular_a tumult_n on_o the_o other_o side_n poor_a man_n be_v in_o so_o much_o want_n that_o they_o think_v themselves_o sufficient_o excuse_v for_o the_o neglect_v of_o almost_o all_o and_o down_o in_o trouble_n when_o it_o have_v power_n on_o his_o body_n it_o can_v reach_v his_o soul._n as_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o dead_a man_n feel_v no_o pain_n when_o the_o corpse_n be_v cut_v in_o piece_n or_o rot_v in_o the_o grave_n so_o in_o a_o low_a measure_n the_o soul_n of_o a_o believer_n be_v in_o a_o sort_n as_o it_o be_v separate_v from_o the_o body_n by_o faith_n and_o go_v before_o to_o the_o heavenly_a inheritance_n be_v free_v from_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o calamity_n of_o the_o flesh_n so_o far_o as_o we_o be_v dead_a we_o be_v insensible_a of_o suffering_n benefit_n 7._o another_o benefit_n that_o follow_v upon_o the_o former_a be_v this_o we_o shall_v be_v far_o better_a able_a to_o suffer_v for_o christ_n because_o that_o suffering_n will_v be_v much_o more_o easy_a to_o we_o when_o once_o we_o be_v true_o crucify_a to_o the_o world_n what_o be_v it_o that_o make_v man_n so_o tender_a of_o suffer_v and_o startle_v at_o the_o noise_n of_o it_o not_o too_o plain_o show_v that_o they_o make_v the_o world_n their_o god_n and_o their_o heaven_n benefit_n 8._o moreover_o if_o indeed_o you_o be_v crucify_a to_o the_o world_n your_o heart_n will_v be_v still_o open_a to_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o the_o motion_n of_o further_a grace_n and_o so_o you_o will_v have_v abundant_a advantage_n both_o for_o the_o exercise_n and_o increase_v of_o the_o grace_n which_o you_o have_v receive_v the_o earthly_a mind_a have_v their_o heart_n lock_v up_o against_o all_o that_o can_v be_v say_v to_o they_o never_o can_v the_o spirit_n or_o his_o minister_n make_v a_o motion_n to_o they_o for_o their_o good_a but_o some_o worldly_a interest_n or_o other_o do_v contradict_v it_o and_o rise_v up_o against_o it_o but_o what_o have_v you_o to_o stop_v your_o ear_n when_o the_o world_n be_v dead_a the_o word_n than_o will_v have_v free_a access_n to_o your_o heart_n when_o the_o spirit_n come_v your_o thought_n be_v ready_a your_o affection_n be_v at_o hand_n and_o all_o be_v in_o a_o posture_n to_o entertain_v he_o and_o attend_v he_o and_o so_o the_o work_n go_v on_o and_o prosper_v but_o when_o he_o come_v to_o the_o worldly_a mind_n the_o thought_n be_v all_o from_o home_n the_o affection_n be_v abroad_o and_o out_o of_o the_o way_n and_o there_o be_v nothing_o for_o his_o entertainment_n but_o all_o in_o a_o posture_n to_o resist_v he_o and_o gainsay_v he_o o_o what_o work_n will_v the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n make_v in_o the_o world_n if_o there_o be_v not_o a_o worldly_a principle_n within_o to_o so_o as_o that_o we_o give_v the_o glory_n to_o god_n and_o not_o to_o our_o own_o corrupt_a will_n 6._o and_o when_o we_o be_v call_v hereto_o we_o must_v do_v it_o very_o cautelous_o as_o paul_n themselves_o both_o doctrine_n and_o devotion_n who_o tendency_n and_o use_n be_v to_o keep_v alive_a this_o devilish_a sin_n you_o do_v not_o believe_v well_o nor_o repent_v well_o nor_o pray_v well_o nor_o do_v any_o christian_a duty_n well_o if_o you_o be_v not_o more_o humble_a in_o and_o after_o it_o than_o you_o be_v before_o it_o be_v a_o sad_a case_n for_o a_o man_n to_o preach_v and_o lay_v thyself_o still_o at_o the_o foot_n of_o christ_n as_o sensible_a that_o all_o the_o sin_n be_v thou_o but_o the_o good_a be_v he_o from_o who_o thou_o do_v receive_v it_o thou_o can_v destroy_v thyself_o but_o in_o he_o be_v thy_o help_n thou_o have_v the_o skill_n and_o ability_n to_o set_v thy_o own_o house_n on_o fire_n but_o it_o be_v he_o that_o must_v quench_v it_o or_o
