of_o joy_n and_o rejoice_v in_o you_o in_o hear_v the_o word_n etc._n etc._n but_o my_o brethren_n whatever_o there_o be_v that_o can_v be_v in_o you_o if_o this_o be_v not_o in_o you_o if_o there_o have_v see_v this_o point_n also_o open_v to_o we_o that_o all_o the_o favour_n and_o privilege_n that_o the_o people_n of_o god_n enjoy_v it_o be_v all_o by_o grace_n that_o be_v by_o christ_n and_o by_o his_o gospel_n i_o will_v only_o make_v a_o use_n or_o two_o of_o this_o point_n in_o a_o few_o word_n and_o so_o pass_v it_o over_o first_o this_o doctrine_n serve_v to_o check_v their_o favour_n by_o christ_n and_o the_o gospel_n and_o yet_o be_v no_o more_o thankful_a for_o they_o than_o we_o be_v the_o other_o use_n shall_v be_v for_o a_o exhortation_n to_o provoke_v you_o above_o all_o thing_n to_o prize_n christ_n and_o the_o gospel_n as_o you_o prize_v life_n liberty_n pardon_v of_o sin_n favour_n of_o god_n salvation_n of_o soul_n so_o prize_n christ_n and_o the_o gospel_n for_o by_o they_o you_o have_v all_o these_o even_o our_o outward_a privilege_n my_o brethren_n come_v by_o the_o gospel_n the_o gospel_n of_o peace_n have_v bring_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o peace_n to_o this_o land_n temporal_a honour_n prosperity_n renown_n and_o plenty_n have_v come_v to_o we_o by_o the_o gospel_n but_o those_o thing_n that_o above_o all_o be_v prizeworthy_a be_v the_o favour_n of_o god_n the_o peace_n of_o conscience_n the_o victory_n over_o corruption_n etc._n etc._n these_o thing_n they_o be_v all_o bring_v to_o we_o by_o christ_n and_o the_o gospel_n therefore_o let_v we_o prize_v these_o above_o our_o life_n or_o liberty_n great_a cause_n have_v we_o of_o this_o age_n to_o fear_v that_o christ_n and_o his_o gospel_n be_v depart_v from_o we_o we_o can_v but_o see_v that_o there_o be_v those_o thing_n among_o we_o that_o usual_o cause_n christ_n to_o depart_v we_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o intemperancy_n a_o world_n of_o prophanesse_n and_o impiety_n etc._n etc._n these_o thing_n be_v usual_o forerunner_n of_o christ_n go_v away_o and_o carry_v his_o gospel_n from_o a_o nation_n let_v we_o therefore_o more_o fear_v the_o loss_n of_o these_o than_o the_o loss_n of_o our_o own_o life_n we_o may_v lose_v our_o life_n and_o yet_o keep_v the_o favour_n of_o god_n we_o may_v lose_v our_o life_n and_o yet_o enjoy_v all_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n but_o if_o christ_n and_o the_o gospel_n be_v take_v away_o so_o many_o of_o we_o as_o have_v not_o make_v a_o sure_a part_n for_o ourselves_o in_o christ_n and_o in_o the_o gospel_n we_o lose_v all_o favour_n with_o god_n and_o all_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n therefore_o let_v we_o bestir_v ourselves_o within_o the_o bound_n of_o our_o calling_n to_o the_o uttermost_a of_o our_o ability_n both_o by_o pray_v and_o every_o way_n that_o god_n have_v appoint_v more_o than_o for_o our_o life_n to_o preserve_v among_o we_o christ_n and_o the_o gospel_n howsoever_o happy_o they_o will_v approve_v and_o applaud_v that_o which_o the_o minister_n deliver_v to_o they_o from_o god_n yet_o in_o the_o conclusion_n if_o their_o ease_n and_o honour_n and_o liberty_n lie_v at_o hazard_n they_o fail_v in_o matter_n of_o practice_n they_o will_v doc_fw-fr nothing_o they_o dare_v doc_fw-fr nothing_o further_a than_o they_o be_v advise_v unto_o by_o those_o he_o be_v holy_a in_o all_o manner_n of_o conversation_n that_o they_o shall_v abstain_v from_o all_o appearance_n of_o evil_n this_o the_o lord_n require_v and_o this_o man_n commend_v and_o his_o wealth_n shall_v i_o be_v exact_a in_o a_o christian_a course_n shall_v i_o lose_v this_o gain_n or_o that_o advantage_n for_o the_o keep_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n the_o voluptuous_a man_n the_o first_o place_n go_v to_o god_n and_o advise_v with_o he_o and_o hear_v what_o his_o good_a pleasure_n be_v towards_o you_o and_o never_o inquire_v of_o your_o own_o carnal_a reason_n again_o there_o be_v oft_o another_o great_a fault_n in_o the_o people_n of_o god_n that_o as_o they_o go_v not_o to_o christ_n in_o the_o first_o place_n for_o advice_n and_o counsel_n so_o in_o the_o second_o place_n when_o they_o have_v it_o they_o rest_v not_o upon_o it_o many_o a_o one_o there_o be_v who_o after_o he_o have_v be_v convince_v evident_o and_o clear_o by_o the_o power_n of_o the_o one_o for_o my_o brethren_n the_o ground_n of_o all_o our_o feebleness_n and_o distrust_n and_o distemper_n lie_v especial_o in_o this_o that_o we_o neglect_v our_o ground_n and_o do_v not_o fix_v sanctify_v as_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n i_o say_v have_v a_o proper_a and_o peculiar_a work_n of_o sanctification_n upon_o the_o will_n of_o god_n child_n so_o also_o have_v he_o upon_o their_o mind_n and_o understanding_n therefore_o of_o necessity_n wicked_a man_n have_v no_o work_n of_o sanctification_n the_o child_n of_o god_n must_v needs_o differ_v from_o they_o in_o this_o the_o word_n of_o god_n cross_v he_o and_o gainsay_v he_o and_o therefore_o observe_v it_o if_o there_o be_v but_o a_o sleepie-headed_n magistrate_n or_o a_o careless_a minister_n in_o a_o congregation_n that_o will_v lot_n a_o great_a deal_n of_o the_o water_n go_v give_v leave_n for_o the_o stream_n and_o current_n of_o corruption_n to_o pass_v let_v man_n have_v a_o vent_n for_o their_o lust_n all_o will_v be_v at_o great_a peace_n and_o the_o stream_n will_v run_v as_o calm_a as_o can_v be_v that_o magistrate_n shall_v never_o have_v a_o ill_a word_n that_o minister_n that_o any_o way_n permit_v a_o vent_n to_o corruption_n he_o and_o his_o parish_n shall_v agree_v as_o quiet_o as_o may_v be_v but_o if_o a_o man_n be_v stout_a and_o courageous_a either_o magistrate_n or_o minister_n he_o shall_v find_v violent_a opposition_n and_o marvelous_a strive_n and_o working_n of_o heart_n against_o he_o and_o that_o word_n which_o he_o deliver_v and_o the_o mean_n of_o grace_n which_o god_n vouchsafe_v to_o a_o people_n again_o as_o this_o corruption_n discover_v itself_o in_o oppose_v the_o good_a word_n of_o god_n so_o in_o the_o second_o place_n observe_v another_o
