rest_n answer_v to_o they_o that_o believe_v not_o so_o we_o see_v they_o can_v not_o enter_v in_o because_o of_o unbelief_n verse_n 18_o 19_o second_o this_o will_v teach_v we_o what_o to_o think_v and_o conclude_v of_o such_o who_o though_o they_o do_v not_o so_o open_o discover_v their_o folly_n by_o open_a and_o gross_a sin_n against_o the_o law_n yet_o will_v give_v more_o heed_n to_o their_o own_o spirit_n and_o the_o moving_n thereof_o though_o they_o be_v neither_o command_v nor_o commend_v for_o the_o same_o in_o scripture_n nay_o though_o the_o scripture_n command_v and_o commend_v the_o contrary_a isaiah_n 8._o 20._o then_o they_o will_v to_o the_o holy_a and_o reveal_v will_n of_o god_n i_o say_v such_o man_n be_v in_o as_o bad_a a_o state_n as_o the_o other_o to_o the_o full_a be_v disobedient_a to_o god_n will_v reveal_v in_o his_o word_n as_o well_o as_o they_o though_o in_o a_o different_a manner_n the_o one_o open_o transgress_v against_o the_o plain_a and_o well_o know_v truth_n reveal_v in_o it_o the_o other_o though_o more_o close_a and_o hide_a yet_o secret_o reject_v and_o slight_v they_o give_v more_o heed_n to_o their_o own_o spirit_n and_o the_o motion_n thereof_o although_o not_o warrant_v by_o the_o scripture_n a_o few_o word_n more_o and_o so_o i_o shall_v conclude_v and_o first_o take_v heed_n that_o you_o content_v not_o yourself_o with_o a_o bare_a notion_n of_o the_o scripture_n in_o your_o head_n by_o which_o you_o may_v go_v far_o even_o so_o far_o as_o to_o be_v able_a to_o dispute_v for_o the_o truth_n to_o preach_v the_o gospel_n and_o labour_n to_o vindicate_v it_o in_o opposition_n to_o gainsayers_a and_o yet_o be_v find_v at_o the_o left_a hand_n of_o christ_n at_o the_o judgment-day_n forasmuch_o as_o thou_o do_v content_v thyself_o with_o a_o notion_n or_o a_o traditional_a knowledge_n of_o they_o 2._o have_v a_o care_n that_o thou_o own_o the_o whole_a scripture_n and_o not_o own_o one_o part_n and_o neglect_v another_o or_o slight_v it_o be_v thâ—â—_n to_o own_o the_o law_n and_o slight_v the_o gospel_n or_o to_o think_v that_o thou_o must_v be_v save_v by_o thy_o good_a do_v and_o work_n for_o that_o be_v all_o one_o as_o if_o thou_o do_v thrust_v christ_n away_o from_o thou_o or_o else_o so_o to_o own_o the_o gospel_n as_o if_o by_o it_o thou_o be_v exempt_v from_o all_o obedience_n to_o the_o ten_o commandment_n and_o conformity_n to_o the_o law_n in_o life_n and_o conversation_n for_o in_o so_o do_v thou_o will_v for_o certain_a make_v sure_a of_o eternal_a vengeance_n three_o have_v a_o care_n that_o thou_o put_v not_o wrong_a name_n on_o the_o thing_n contain_v in_o the_o scripture_n as_o to_o call_v the_o law_n christ_n and_o christ_n the_o law_n for_o some_o have_v do_v so_o in_o my_o knowledge_n have_v so_o darken_v to_o themselves_o the_o glorious_a truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o in_o a_o very_a little_a time_n they_o have_v be_v resolve_v to_o thwart_v and_o oppose_v they_o and_o so_o have_v make_v room_n in_o their_o own_o soul_n for_o the_o devil_n to_o inhabit_v and_o obtain_v a_o place_n in_o hell_n for_o their_o own_o soul_n to_o be_v torment_v for_o ever_o and_o ever_o against_o this_o danger_n therefore_o in_o read_v and_o receive_v the_o testimony_n of_o scripture_n learn_v to_o distinguish_v between_o the_o law_n and_o the_o gospel_n and_o to_o keep_v they_o clear_v asunder_o as_o to_o the_o salvation_n of_o thy_o soul_n and_o that_o thou_o may_v so_o do_v in_o the_o first_o place_n beg_v of_o god_n that_o he_o will_v show_v thou_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o set_v it_o home_o effectual_o with_o life_n and_o power_n upon_o thy_o soul_n by_o faith_n which_o be_v this_o that_o god_n will_v show_v thou_o that_o as_o thou_o be_v man_n have_v sin_v against_o god_n so_o christ_n be_v god_n man_n have_v â—â—ought_v thou_o again_o and_o with_o his_o most_o precious_a blood_n set_v thou_o free_a from_o the_o bondage_n thou_o be_v fall_v into_o by_o thy_o sin_n and_o that_o not_o upon_o condition_n that_o thou_o will_v do_v thus_o and_o thus_o this_o and_o the_o other_o good_a work_n but_o rather_o that_o thou_o be_v first_o justify_v free_o by_o mere_a grace_n through_o the_o blood_n of_o jesus_n shall_v also_o receive_v thy_o strength_n from_o he_o who_o have_v buy_v thou_o to_o walk_v before_o he_o in_o all_o well_o please_a be_v enable_v thereto_o by_o virtue_n of_o his_o spirit_n which_o have_v reveal_v to_o thy_o soul_n that_o thou_o be_v deliver_v already_o from_o wrath_n to_o come_v by_o the_o
