preach_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n bring_v man_n to_o despair_v the_o preach_n of_o such_o strict_a point_n and_o the_o urge_v such_o precise_a doctrine_n make_v man_n despair_v man_n be_v loath_a to_o be_v at_o the_o pain_n to_o root_v out_o their_o discouragement_n it_o be_v rather_o a_o cold_a or_o dead_a preach_n of_o the_o word_n that_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o this_o for_o when_o the_o soul_n be_v instruct_v by_o holiness_n humble_v by_o holiness_n convert_v by_o holiness_n at_o the_o last_o when_o it_o come_v to_o be_v thorough_o awaken_v when_o it_o see_v that_o this_o and_o blame_v if_o they_o speak_v and_o preach_v only_o the_o terror_n and_o condemnation_n of_o the_o law_n without_o the_o promise_n of_o the_o gospel_n for_o these_o shall_v be_v so_o temper_v that_o every_o poor_a break_a soul_n may_v see_v mercy_n and_o redemption_n for_o he_o upon_o his_o sound_n and_o unfeigned_a repentance_n and_o humiliation_n but_o if_o man_n do_v despair_n they_o may_v thank_v themselves_o for_o it_o their_o own_o sin_n for_o it_o their_o own_o discouragement_n for_o it_o because_o they_o suffer_v these_o to_o continue_v in_o they_o cain_n his_o heart_n grow_v sad_a his_o temporize_n and_o fashionary_a serve_n of_o god_n lie_v at_o the_o door_n of_o conscience_n to_o tell_v he_o that_o all_o his_o hear_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n profit_v he_o nothing_o that_o his_o prayer_n be_v dead_a and_o vain_a that_o his_o mourning_n fast_a and_o all_o his_o humiliation_n be_v counterfeit_a and_o rot_a and_o that_o he_o have_v no_o soundness_n of_o grace_n in_o he_o but_o that_o for_o all_o this_o he_o may_v fall_v into_o hell_n when_o sin_n lie_v thus_o at_o the_o door_n thus_o rap_v at_o the_o conscience_n it_o be_v no_o wonder_n if_o the_o soul_n fall_v into_o you_o nourish_v any_o thought_n and_o fear_n of_o despair_n in_o you_o if_o you_o be_v discourage_v you_o will_v be_v drive_v from_o the_o use_n of_o the_o mean_n which_o be_v a_o lamentable_a thing_n
