enough_o forward_o but_o as_o the_o sun_n all_o way_n rise_v till_o he_o come_v untoo_o his_o perfection_n even_o so_o when_o we_o have_v once_o get_v any_o savour_n of_o the_o gospel_n we_o must_v labour_v to_o attain_v perfection_n whereunto_o for_o 4._o ephe._n 4._o to_o be_v guide_v the_o lord_n in_o his_o church_n have_v appoint_v workman_n and_o forasmuch_o as_o we_o must_v grow_v unto_o perfection_n &_o that_o by_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n it_o follow_v we_o must_v not_o be_v greeve_v though_o the_o minister_n cease_v not_o by_o diverse_a exhortation_n to_o open_v the_o be_v of_o no_o continuance_n &_o that_o within_o a_o while_n after_o they_o feel_v great_a trouble_n &_o sorrow_n &_o that_o they_o see_v themselves_o overthrow_v with_o the_o great_a misery_n and_o neither_o can_v apply_v to_o take_v the_o good_a way_n cain_n pharaoh_n saul_n and_o judas_n do_v testify_v it_o and_o the_o wicked_a nowadays_o do_v feel_v it_o and_o chief_o they_o to_o who_o god_n have_v send_v his_o word_n to_o the_o end_n that_o daily_o it_o may_v be_v declare_v unto_o they_o do_v feel_v and_o know_v the_o evil_a they_o do_v but_o because_o they_o have_v conceive_v hatred_n without_o cause_n against_o they_o that_o seek_v but_o their_o salvation_n they_o be_v blind_a and_o can_v get_v out_o of_o this_o dark_a way_n but_o from_o day_n to_o day_n entangle_v themselves_o further_o therein_o &_o do_v run_v into_o a_o labyrinth_n wherout_a they_o can_v escape_v these_o people_n &_o their_o like_a think_v themselves_o strong_a &_o mighty_a &_o they_o seem_v to_o be_v diligent_a householder_n and_o it_o will_v seem_v unto_o he_o that_o he_o hold_v a_o meete_o good_a trade_n to_o become_v scotfree_a his_o worldly_a and_o carnal_a neighbour_n will_v be_v also_o of_o the_o same_o opinion_n &_o will_v think_v that_o there_o can_v be_v no_o better_a mean_n to_o gain_v his_o live_n then_o to_o be_v active_a and_o to_o be_v ready_a to_o draw_v unto_o himself_o this_o be_v the_o common_a opinion_n but_o yet_o it_o cease_v not_o to_o be_v false_a and_o wrong_n solomon_n do_v show_v it_o when_o he_o say_v he_o that_o be_v greedy_a of_o gain_n etc._n etc._n he_o reprove_v here_o all_o covetous_a which_o never_o have_v enough_o and_o the_o more_o they_o have_v the_o more_o they_o desire_v to_o have_v and_o still_o labour_n to_o gather_v &_o care_v not_o whether_o they_o do_v wrong_a or_o hurt_v unto_o their_o neighbour_n but_o give_v themselves_o to_o peel_n they_o &_o chief_o when_o they_o think_v that_o their_o neighbour_n be_v simple_a &_o that_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o law_n express_o do_v forbid_v they_o covetousness_n and_o that_o god_n by_o his_o prophet_n be_v angry_a with_o they_o do_v reproach_n they_o for_o their_o covetousness_n and_o do_v threaten_v they_o above_o all_o other_o thou_o shall_v 17_o exo._n 23._o 8._o deut._n 16._o 18_o 19_o &_o 17._o 17_o take_v no_o reward_n etc._n etc._n thou_o shall_v ordain_v thou_o judge_n and_o gift_n do_v often_o live_v in_o penury_n poverty_n and_o affliction_n the_o which_o be_v not_o proper_o to_o live_v let_v we_o not_o think_v that_o he_o speak_v only_o of_o this_o life_n secret_a wherefore_o it_o be_v not_o meet_v to_o think_v that_o we_o can_v deceive_v he_o neither_o ought_v we_o to_o will_v it_o though_o it_o be_v in_o our_o power_n but_o we_o shall_v honour_v it_o and_o have_v it_o in_o admiration_n as_o david_n admonish_v us._n and_o we_o ought_v to_o keep_v ourselves_o 11._o psal_n 139._o 6._o &_o 73._o 11._o well_o from_o say_v as_o the_o wicked_a do_v how_o do_v god_n know_v it_o and_o there_o be_v no_o knowledge_n in_o the_o lord_n solomon_n by_o this_o first_o reason_n signify_v that_o they_o which_o say_v that_o they_o have_v not_o know_v the_o violence_n and_o wrong_n which_o be_v do_v to_o their_o neighbour_n speak_v in_o their_o heart_n as_o these_o wicked_a do_v and_o so_o they_o attribute_v ignorance_n to_o god_n and_o by_o consequence_n deny_v that_o he_o be_v god_n the_o second_o reason_n be_v and_o he_o that_o keep_v thy_o soul_n etc._n etc._n it_o be_v not_o a_o thing_n which_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v certain_a of_o that_o god_n have_v care_n over_o his_o creature_n and_o likewise_o he_o keep_v the_o wicked_a otherwise_o they_o will_v be_v soon_o destroy_v for_o the_o devil_n seek_v but_o the_o destruction_n of_o man_n and_o soon_o take_v and_o devour_v that_o which_o god_n have_v do_v withal_o and_o therefore_o the_o holy_a scripture_n attribute_v to_o the_o lord_n the_o title_n of_o keeper_n and_o saviour_n as_o also_o it_o be_v good_a reason_n for_o there_o be_v none_o other_o but_o he_o then_o see_v it_o be_v so_o that_o god_n be_v the_o keeper_n of_o soul_n it_o follow_v that_o there_o be_v neither_o thought_n nor_o affection_n in_o the_o same_o soul_n but_o he_o know_v they_o well_o as_o also_o solomon_n note_v it_o when_o he_o ask_v say_v know_v he_o it_o not_o as_o if_o he_o say_v one_o ought_v in_o no_o wise_a too_o doubt_v that_o god_n which_o keep_v the_o soul_n know_v not_o those_o excuse_n of_o they_o which_o say_v that_o they_o have_v not_o know_v the_o affliction_n of_o their_o neighbour_n to_o be_v frivolous_a and_o vain_a leasing_n he_o dispoil_v they_o therefore_o of_o excuse_n and_o also_o tax_v they_o of_o ingratitude_n towards_o god_n for_o see_v that_o god_n which_o keep_v their_o soul_n recommend_v to_o they_o the_o soul_n of_o their_o neighbour_n they_o acknowledge_v not_o well_o the_o grace_n that_o god_n have_v do_v they_o when_o they_o be_v not_o careful_a to_o deliver_v their_o poor_a neighbour_n as_o the_o lord_n demand_v it_o and_o not_o content_a herewith_o they_o lie_v not_o only_o to_o man_n but_o also_o to_o god_n as_o solomon_n signify_v it_o by_o the_o present_a interrogation_n but_o to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o be_v not_o abuse_v think_v that_o solomon_n speak_v here_o of_o a_o perpetual_a keep_n know_v we_o that_o often_o god_n keep_v the_o wicked_a temporal_o for_o the_o health_n and_o prosperity_n of_o his_o elect_a as_o one_o may_v see_v by_o the_o king_n of_o the_o persian_n and_o median_n which_o be_v idolater_n and_o infidel_n and_o by_o their_o hand_n god_n have_v give_v deliverance_n to_o his_o 1._o tim._n 8._o 1._o people_n of_o israel_n and_o saint_n paul_n will_n that_o we_o pray_v for_o such_o man_n mean_v while_o if_o they_o remain_v obstinate_a everlasting_a destruction_n be_v prepare_v for_o they_o and_o they_o be_v keep_v for_o the_o same_o the_o third_o reason_n be_v and_o will_v not_o he_o also_o recompense_v etc._n etc._n in_o the_o first_o and_o in_o the_o second_o reason_n he_o argue_v by_o the_o diligence_n and_o care_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o also_o by_o his_o knowledge_n and_o goodness_n and_o now_o in_o this_o third_o reason_n 5._o rom._n 2._o 5._o he_o argue_v by_o the_o same_o thing_n for_o if_o god_n be_v ignorant_a and_o negligent_a and_o if_o he_o be_v slothful_a and_o ill_a willing_a be_v can_v not_o recompense_v every_o one_o according_a to_o his_o work_n nevertheless_o he_o argue_v principal_o by_o his_o justice_n for_o it_o be_v the_o office_n of_o a_o judge_n to_o do_v right_a to_o every_o one_o reward_v each_o one_o according_a as_o he_o know_v he_o to_o have_v do_v punish_v the_o wicked_a and_o preserve_v the_o good_a not_o that_o the_o good_a be_v they_o never_o so_o good_a may_v merit_v that_o god_n may_v benefit_n they_o but_o of_o his_o pure_a grace_n and_o liberality_n and_o mercy_n he_o accept_v their_o work_n although_o they_o be_v unperfect_a and_o reward_v they_o according_a to_o his_o free_a promise_n and_o according_a to_o his_o eternal_a election_n but_o to_o the_o wicked_a which_o be_v obstinate_a and_o hard_a heart_a he_o render_v they_o the_o hire_n which_o they_o have_v deserve_v overthrow_v they_o in_o his_o ire_n and_o vengeance_n let_v they_o therefore_o that_o seem_v not_o to_o see_v the_o oppression_n which_o be_v wrought_v too_o their_o neighbour_n not_o look_v to_o escape_v unpunished_a and_o if_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v careful_a to_o preserve_v the_o temporal_a life_n of_o our_o neighbour_n by_o far_o more_o reason_n we_o ought_v to_o be_v diligent_a to_o deliver_v they_o from_o death_n &_o damnation_n eternal_a as_o much_o as_o in_o we_o lie_v which_o thing_n we_o shall_v do_v by_o sound_a doctrine_n warning_n exhortation_n correction_n threaten_n and_o chastisement_n 13_o my_o son_n eat_v honey_n for_o it_o be_v good_a and_o the_o honey_n comb_n be_v sweet_a to_o thy_o mouth_n it_o be_v a_o thing_n notorious_a and_o well_o know_v by_o experience_n that_o honey_n be_v good_a and_o the_o honey_n comb_n very_o sweet_a in_o taste_n also_o the_o holy_a scripture_n be_v willing_a to_o draw_v we_o to_o take_v the_o taste_n and_o savour_n of_o spiritual_a thing_n as_o in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n which_o be_v our_o true_a wisdom_n and_o understanding_n compare_v they_o to_o honey_n &_o to_o the_o honey_n comb_n notwithstanding_o prefer_v the_o spiritual_a before_o the_o terrestrial_a as_o be_v very_o good_a reason_n also_o now_o when_o solomon_n say_v my_o son_n eat_v honey_n &c_n &c_n it_o be_v not_o to_o command_v we_o or_o admonish_v we_o to_o eat_v honey_n soon_o than_o other_o good_a meat_n for_o he_o have_v not_o write_v his_o sentence_n for_o the_o care_n that_o he_o have_v of_o our_o body_n but_o his_o intent_n be_v to_o instruct_v our_o spirit_n and_o our_o understanding_n and_o therefore_o note_v we_o that_o he_o speak_v so_o to_o make_v a_o comparison_n the_o which_o he_o add_v consequent_o when_o he_o say_v 14_o so_o shall_v the_o knowledge_n of_o wisdom_n be_v unto_o thy_o soul_n if_o thou_o find_v it_o and_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o end_n and_o thy_o hope_n shall_v not_o be_v cut_v of_o to_o prove_v and_o try_v the_o goodness_n and_o sweetness_n of_o wisdom_n &_o to_o have_v joy_n thereof_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o have_v the_o knowledge_n of_o it_o solomon_n show_v it_o well_o when_o he_o be_v not_o content_a to_o say_v that_o the_o knowledge_n of_o wisdom_n shall_v be_v sweet_a &_o good_a to_o the_o soul_n as_o honey_n but_o he_o add_v a_o she_o but_o one_o may_v say_v that_o those_o which_o be_v wise_a after_o god_n &_o after_o his_o word_n be_v ordinary_o evil_a handle_v &_o endure_v many_o vexation_n and_o molestation_n for_o this_o
