the_o covenant_n promise_v to_o give_v christ_n to_o death_n and_o what_o answer_n mr._n eyre_n will_v give_v to_o avoid_v this_o consequence_n for_o i_o presume_v he_o will_v not_o grant_v it_o and_o to_o defend_v his_o position_n that_o we_o be_v in_o covenant_n with_o god_n upon_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n and_o not_o before_o notwithstanding_o the_o covenant_n promise_v to_o give_v christ_n the_o same_o answer_n will_v serve_v my_o turn_n for_o the_o vindication_n of_o my_o assertion_n that_o we_o be_v in_o covenant_n with_o god_n upon_o believe_v and_o not_o before_o notwithstanding_o as_o many_o blessing_n temporal_a and_o eternal_a be_v promise_v so_o peculiarly_a pardon_n of_o sin_n mention_v in_o the_o word_n next_o follow_v for_o which_o the_o covenant_n on_o mount_n sinai_n thing_n be_v the_o tenor_n and_o formality_n of_o the_o new_a covenant_n they_o that_o believe_v the_o lord_n will_v be_v their_o god_n and_o they_o shall_v be_v his_o people_n and_o this_o be_v the_o covenant_n so_o long_o before_o promise_v but_o most_o express_o enact_v in_o the_o day_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n but_o three_o there_o be_v also_o a_o promise_n and_o declaration_n that_o god_n will_v work_v this_o condition_n by_o which_o man_n shall_v have_v a_o interest_n in_o this_o covenant_n and_o a_o right_a and_o title_n to_o the_o blessing_n thereof_o i_o will_v put_v my_o law_n into_o their_o mind_n that_o be_v i_o will_v give_v they_o faith_n which_o faith_n be_v not_o promise_v as_o a_o effect_n of_o the_o covenant_n already_o make_v but_o as_o the_o mean_n by_o which_o we_o be_v bring_v into_o covenant_n and_o thereby_o invest_v in_o a_o right_a to_o all_o the_o blessing_n of_o it_o so_o that_o the_o word_n be_v in_o this_o sense_n this_o be_v the_o covenant_n which_o i_o will_v make_v with_o the_o house_n of_o israel_n when_o i_o shall_v write_v my_o law_n in_o their_o heart_n i_o will_v be_v their_o god_n etc._n etc._n i_o do_v not_o herein_o give_v the_o grammatical_a translation_n of_o the_o word_n though_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v read_v the_o word_n thus_o this_o be_v the_o covenant_n which_o i_o will_v make_v say_v the_o lord_n that_o give_v his_o law_n into_o their_o mind_n and_o write_v they_o in_o their_o heart_n etc._n etc._n he_o will_v be_v so_o far_o from_o offer_v violence_n either_o to_o the_o greek_a translation_n of_o the_o lxx_o which_o the_o apostle_n follow_v or_o to_o the_o hebrew_n text_n in_o the_o prophet_n as_o that_o he_o may_v justify_v it_o by_o many_o example_n but_o the_o matter_n be_v of_o no_o consequence_n at_o all_o to_o either_o side_n you_o see_v the_o sense_n which_o i_o give_v of_o the_o word_n and_o that_o this_o be_v the_o true_a sense_n of_o the_o place_n be_v most_o evident_a if_o we_o compare_v it_o with_o other_o scripture_n where_o this_o covenant_n be_v mention_v for_o example_n jer._n 24._o 7._o i_o will_v give_v they_o a_o heart_n to_o know_v i_o that_o i_o be_o the_o lord_n and_o they_o shall_v be_v my_o people_n and_o i_o will_v be_v their_o god_n for_o or_o when_z they_o shall_v return_v unto_o i_o with_o their_o whole_a heart_n where_o we_o have_v the_o very_a same_o argument_n as_o here_o viz._n the_o blessing_n promise_v i_o will_v be_v their_o god_n the_o condition_n on_o the_o people_n part_n which_o be_v their_o return_v with_o their_o whole_a heart_n and_o the_o cause_n of_o this_o return_n i_o will_v give_v they_o a_o heart_n the_o apostle_n be_v yet_o more_o distinct_a heb._n 10._o 14_o 15_o 16_o 17._o he_o prove_v that_o christ_n have_v for_o ever_o perfect_v they_o that_o be_v sanctify_v whereof_o say_v he_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v a_o witness_n to_o we_o for_o after_o that_o he_o have_v say_v before_o this_o be_v the_o covenant_n that_o i_o faith_n ergo._n here_o the_o major_n be_v utter_o untrue_a for_o the_o promise_n of_o faith_n which_o in_o reference_n to_o we_o be_v rather_o a_o declaration_n de_fw-fr futuro_fw-la of_o what_o god_n will_v do_v than_o a_o promise_n be_v the_o promise_n of_o the_o condition_n by_o which_o we_o be_v bring_v into_o covenant_n and_o therefore_o though_o god_n have_v declare_v that_o he_o will_v give_v faith_n it_o will_v by_o no_o mean_n follow_v that_o we_o be_v in_o covenant_n before_o faith_n but_o let_v they_o frame_v their_o argument_n how_o they_o please_v it_o concern_v not_o i_o to_o
