wisdom_n righteousness_n and_o give_v they_o to_o god_n alone_o to_o who_o they_o belong_v the_o gospel_n be_v a_o doctrine_n concern_v christ_n which_o be_v neither_o law_n nor_o work_n but_o our_o rely_v in_o the_o one_o or_o in_o the_o other_o now_o faith_n work_v not_o but_o believe_v in_o christ_n who_o be_v our_o propytion_n and_o remission_n of_o sin_n but_o the_o effect_n of_o the_o law_n be_v not_o to_o make_v righteous_a and_o to_o give_v life_n but_o to_o show_v forth_o sin_n and_o to_o destroy_v and_o although_o the_o law_n say_v he_o that_o shall_v do_v these_o thing_n shall_v live_v in_o they_o yet_o i_o will_v but_o see_v a_o papist_n that_o can_v point_v i_o out_o but_o one_o man_n that_o have_v so_o perform_v the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n to_o merit_v eternal_a life_n by_o his_o own_o deserve_n who_o so_o ever_o seek_v to_o make_v himself_o holy_a by_o the_o law_n what_o can_v he_o imagine_v but_o that_o god_n be_v angry_a must_v needs_o be_v pacify_v with_o good_a work_n &_o what_o work_n can_v he_o now_o perform_v wherein_o he_o find_v not_o some_o imperfection_n his_o fast_n his_o pray_v his_o worship_v his_o sacrifice_a he_o think_v still_o that_o he_o what_o say_v it_o be_v all_o my_o good_a work_n then_o nothing_o worth_a have_v i_o fast_v have_v i_o pray_v have_v i_o be_v charitable_a in_o bestow_v my_o money_n to_o build_v chapel_n to_o build_v case_n therefore_o when_o we_o come_v to_o debate_v of_o these_o matter_n away_o with_o reason_n which_o be_v a_o utter_a enemy_n to_o faith_n and_o lean_v not_o to_o the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n but_o to_o it_o own_o righteousness_n or_o at_o the_o least_o to_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n now_o where_o law_n and_o reason_n be_v once_o link_v together_o there_o faith_n lose_v her_o virginity_n for_o man_n reason_n take_v more_o pleasure_n in_o measure_v of_o god_n by_o her_o own_o imagination_n then_o by_o his_o word_n and_o do_v those_o with_o better_a will_n and_o great_a zeal_n that_o she_o herself_o have_v choose_v than_o those_o that_o god_n have_v command_v and_o therefore_o if_o with_o the_o papist_n we_o shall_v go_v about_o to_o measure_v the_o thing_n appertain_v to_o faith_n and_o salvation_n but_o according_a to_o the_o rule_n of_o reason_n we_o shall_v find_v both_o great_a absurdity_n and_o many_o impossibility_n for_o who_o can_v believe_v the_o article_n of_o the_o christian_a faith_n that_o christ_n the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v conceive_v and_o bear_v in_o the_o womb_n of_o the_o virgin_n mary_n that_o he_o be_v bear_v and_o suffer_v the_o most_o reproachful_a death_n of_o the_o cross_n that_o the_o dead_a shall_v rise_v at_o the_o last_o day_n and_o how_o absurd_a and_o foolish_a do_v it_o seem_v to_o reason_n that_o in_o the_o lord_n supper_n the_o body_n &_o blood_n of_o christ_n shall_v spiritual_o be_v offer_v unto_o we_o or_o that_o the_o sacrament_n of_o baptism_n shall_v be_v the_o receive_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n or_o if_o we_o have_v no_o better_a speculation_n then_o to_o look_v with_o the_o eye_n of_o reason_n how_o can_v we_o see_v or_o believe_v the_o bless_a trinity_n but_o how_o foolish_a and_o impossible_a do_v it_o seem_v in_o the_o judgement_n of_o reason_n when_o god_n say_v unto_o abraham_n that_o he_o shall_v have_v a_o son_n of_o the_o wither_a and_o barren_a body_n of_o his_o wife_n
