by_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n for_o if_o that_o law_n promise_v no_o justification_n on_o any_o term_n whatsoever_o than_o their_o be_v sinner_n can_v be_v no_o reason_n why_o they_o be_v not_o justify_v by_o that_o law_n and_o again_o if_o their_o sin_n be_v the_o reason_n why_o they_o be_v not_o justify_v by_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n than_o the_o law_n do_v promise_v justification_n to_o they_o on_o condition_n of_o their_o be_v free_a from_o such_o sin_n so_o this_o second_o argument_n which_o he_o ascribe_v to_o the_o apostle_n viz._n that_o none_o can_v be_v justify_v by_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n because_o of_o two_o internal_a defect_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v that_o it_o have_v no_o promise_n of_o future-life_n justification_n and_o that_o they_o have_v no_o ability_n to_o do_v the_o thing_n it_o require_v for_o their_o future-life_n justification_n labour_v with_o the_o same_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d for_o if_o they_o have_v no_o ability_n to_o do_v the_o thing_n it_o require_v for_o their_o future-life_n justification_n then_o their_o disability_n be_v the_o only_a cause_n of_o their_o not_o be_v justify_v by_o that_o law_n and_o not_o the_o law_n not_o promise_v it_o and_o again_o if_o the_o law_n not_o promise_v it_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o they_o can_v not_o attain_v future-life_n justification_n by_o that_o law_n than_o their_o disability_n to_o perform_v what_o it_o require_v can_v be_v no_o cause_n of_o their_o not_o be_v justify_v by_o it_o if_o any_o shall_v reply_v their_o disability_n be_v the_o cause_n why_o they_o can_v not_o perform_v true_a piety_n which_o true_a piety_n be_v require_v by_o some_o other_o law_n for_o their_o future-life_n justification_n set_v aside_o the_o illogicalness_n and_o incoherency_n of_o discourse_n which_o this_o will_v fasten_v on_o the_o apostle_n in_o many_o particular_n i_o will_v only_o ask_v one_o so_o reply_v by_o what_o law_n be_v true_a piety_n require_v of_o they_o this_o author_n tell_v we_o by_o the_o consequence_n though_o possible_o not_o express_o it_o be_v not_o require_v by_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n or_o nature_n neither_o of_o they_o as_o he_o say_v promise_v future_a happiness_n and_o both_o be_v pure_o destitute_a of_o those_o help_n whereby_o man_n may_v be_v draw_v to_o true_a piety_n and_o consequent_o by_o his_o argument_n none_o be_v bind_v to_o true_a piety_n by_o they_o if_o it_o shall_v be_v answer_v according_a to_o this_o author_n and_o some_o other_o that_o true_a piety_n be_v only_o require_v by_o the_o gospel_n i_o have_v the_o gospel_n require_v of_o they_o this_o be_v to_o say_v the_o gospel_n require_v of_o the_o jew_n what_o they_o have_v in_o no_o sense_n any_o ability_n to_o do_v which_o this_o author_n deny_v as_o well_o he_o may_v take_v ability_n in_o the_o strict_a sense_n any_o law_n of_o god_n to_o require_v yet_o this_o author_n here_o forget_v himself_o i_o suppose_v have_v run_v himself_o into_o such_o strait_n in_o affirm_v the_o jew_n can_v not_o perform_v true_a piety_n without_o the_o spirit_n and_o that_o this_o spirit_n be_v deny_v they_o which_o be_v to_o say_v they_o can_v not_o at_o all_o perform_v true_a piety_n that_o he_o must_v grant_v this_o of_o the_o gospel_n or_o some_o law_n that_o it_o require_v what_o they_o have_v in_o no_o sense_n any_o ability_n to_o do_v which_o without_o doubt_n be_v false_a or_o he_o must_v deny_v that_o god_n require_v any_o true_a piety_n of_o they_o by_o any_o law_n whatsoever_o which_o evasion_n i_o suppose_v he_o will_v not_o make_v use_n of_o from_o the_o whole_a series_n of_o the_o apostle_n disputation_n it_o be_v make_v manifest_a that_o he_o only_o reject_v such_o work_n from_o justification_n which_o if_o admit_v may_v seem_v to_o yield_v to_o man_n matter_n of_o glory_v and_o boast_v themselves_o before_o god_n rom._n 3._o 27._o and_o 4._o 2._o ephes_n 2._o 9_o and_o who_o do_v not_o see_v that_o that_o can_v
