incline_v to_o thy_o covetousness_n thou_o know_v not_o and_o therefore_o though_o at_o present_a thou_o be_v not_o guilty_a yea_o though_o through_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n thou_o be_v convince_v of_o godliness_n upon_o they_o they_o may_v appear_v righteous_a before_o man_n as_o the_o pharisee_n new_a and_o old_a and_o yet_o the_o leaven_n and_o doctrine_n they_o embrace_v be_v hypocrisy_n and_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n there_o may_v be_v many_o transgression_n find_v with_o those_o that_o hear_v the_o gospel_n and_o yet_o it_o be_v a_o doctrine_n according_a to_o godliness_n yea_o there_o may_v be_v great_a miscarriage_n find_v with_o such_o as_o have_v former_o obey_v from_o the_o heart_n the_o form_n of_o doctrine_n deliver_v to_o they_o when_o the_o thing_n they_o have_v hear_v have_v be_v let_v slip_v and_o yet_o still_o the_o gospel_n be_v the_o gospel_n of_o god_n preach_v according_a to_o his_o commandment_n give_v a_o faithful_a discovery_n of_o he_o in_o christ_n and_o lead_v to_o he_o and_o which_o he_o will_v own_v and_o preserve_v from_o this_o generation_n for_o ever_o and_o if_o while_o we_o seek_v to_o be_v justify_v by_o christ_n through_o faith_n in_o his_o blood_n without_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n we_o ourselves_o be_v find_v sinner_n be_v christ_n therefore_o the_o minister_n of_o sin_n god_n forbid_v gal._n 2._o 17._o or_o be_v his_o gospel_n a_o doctrine_n of_o unrighteousness_n and_o ungodliness_n because_o those_o that_o believe_v it_o believe_v it_o in_o vain_a no_o far_o be_v it_o from_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v grace_n of_o god_n as_o preach_v in_o the_o word_n that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v teach_v if_o any_o of_o those_o that_o hear_v it_o turn_v aside_o to_o crooked_a path_n as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o doctrine_n of_o licentiousness_n and_o open_v a_o gap_n to_o all_o profaneness_n and_o wickedness_n such_o reproach_n it_o may_v seem_v be_v cast_v upon_o it_o as_o preach_v by_o the_o apostle_n as_o if_o man_n may_v continue_v in_o sin_n either_o because_o grace_n have_v abound_v or_o that_o grace_n may_v abound_v rom._n 3._o 5-8_a &_o 6._o 12._o though_o yet_o there_o be_v no_o doctrine_n do_v so_o much_o show_v the_o vileness_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o the_o vanity_n of_o all_o idol_n as_o this_o in_o the_o faithful_a declaration_n of_o it_o this_o show_v the_o odious_a and_o provoke_a nature_n of_o our_o natural_a vileness_n and_o filthiness_n and_o the_o abominableness_n of_o continue_v therein_o after_o grace_n vouchsafe_v and_o the_o necessity_n of_o our_o be_v wash_v without_o which_o no_o man_n shall_v see_v the_o lord_n in_o witness_v of_o christ_n and_o show_v that_o there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n to_o purge_v sin_n away_o from_o before_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n then_o by_o the_o abasement_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n he_o must_v needs_o have_v suffer_v and_o be_v raise_v again_o or_o otherwise_o we_o can_v not_o be_v bring_v back_o to_o god_n nor_o can_v there_o have_v be_v any_o fountain_n open_v for_o our_o wash_n but_o at_o this_o dear_a cost_n and_o that_o his_o end_n in_o give_v himself_o for_o we_o be_v that_o he_o may_v deliver_v we_o from_o this_o present_a evil_a world_n according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n and_o our_o father_n oh_o how_o shall_v they_o that_o be_v dead_a to_o sin_n this_o way_n live_v any_o long_a therein_o know_v you_o not_o that_o so_o many_o of_o we_o as_o be_v baptise_a into_o christ_n wash_v into_o union_n and_o fellowship_n with_o he_o be_v baptize_v into_o his_o death_n into_o the_o knowledge_n and_o acknowledgement_n of_o his_o death_n in_o which_o we_o see_v the_o greatness_n of_o his_o suffering_n that_o he_o may_v take_v away_o our_o sin_n and_o become_v a_o fountain_n through_o his_o blood_n for_o our_o wash_n and_o cleanse_v rom._n 6._o 2._o 3._o 1_o pet._n 4._o 13_a rom._n 8._o 3._o 4._o and_o yet_o mean_a time_n they_o that_o reproach_n this_o worthy_a name_n as_o if_o it_o encourage_v man_n to_o continue_v in_o sin_n and_o especial_o such_o as_o deny_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n to_o manward_n these_o new_a pharisee_n they_o overlook_v the_o direct_a fruit_n of_o their_o damnable_a heresy_n in_o which_o they_o deny_v and_o teach_v man_n to_o deny_v the_o lord_n that_o buy_v they_o i_o mean_v those_o doctrine_n in_o which_o they_o teach_v that_o christ_n die_v not_o for_o all_o nor_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n taste_v death_n for_o every_o man_n but_o only_o for_o some_o elect_a one_o as_o they_o say_v who_o shall_v certain_o be_v save_v in_o conclusion_n and_o be_v overcome_v by_o a_o irresistible_a power_n and_o as_o for_o the_o rest_n they_o be_v reprobate_v or_o at_o least_o past_a by_o so_o as_o there_o be_v no_o true_a and_o save_a grace_n vouchsafe_v to_o they_o and_o therefore_o they_o must_v in_o the_o issue_n necessary_o perish_v do_v not_o these_o apprehension_n receive_v and_o hearty_o digest_v lead_v man_n thus_o to_o reason_n if_o i_o be_v elect_v or_o of_o that_o elect_a number_n for_o who_o christ_n die_v i_o shall_v infallible_o be_v save_v and_o bring_v in_o by_o a_o irresistible_a power_n and_o till_o than_o dispose_v to_o sleep_v as_o do_v other_o and_o deprive_v our_o soul_n of_o good_a for_o he_o that_o sleep_v in_o harvest_n when_o a_o opportunity_n be_v put_v into_o his_o hand_n for_o gather_v for_o the_o winter_n for_o receive_v and_o lay_v up_o knowledge_n and_o hear_v for_o now_o and_o hereafter_o such_o a_o one_o be_v a_o son_n that_o cause_v shame_n pro._n 10._o 5._o or_o 2._o if_o it_o have_v not_o such_o prevalency_n over_o they_o to_o the_o so_o unfitting_a the_o outward_a man_n yet_o while_o this_o iniquity_n be_v retain_v and_o serve_v against_o the_o light_n and_o instruction_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n it_o will_v deprive_v and_o bereave_v the_o soul_n of_o good_a and_o that_o either_o 1._o through_o their_o delight_n in_o and_o love_n to_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n the_o heart_n be_v so_o take_v up_o with_o this_o as_o its_o treasure_n that_o it_o be_v far_o remove_v from_o he_o and_o from_o his_o word_n so_o as_o it_o become_v unprofitable_a to_o they_o when_o any_o one_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o the_o kingdom_n and_o understand_v it_o not_o consider_v it_o not_o or_o set_v not_o his_o heart_n thereto_o then_o come_v the_o wicked_a one_o and_o catch_v away_o that_o which_o be_v sow_o in_o his_o heart_n math._n 13._o 19_o yea_o this_o will_v so_o seize_v upon_o one_o when_o the_o heart_n follow_v it_o that_o though_o the_o outward_a man_n be_v wake_v enough_o yet_o a_o man_n may_v be_v so_o unfit_a hereby_o that_o he_o hear_v nothing_o or_o immediate_o what_o be_v hear_v be_v let_v slip_n as_o i_o myself_o have_v often_o perceive_v and_o speak_v as_o one_o faulty_a in_o this_o thing_n so_o that_o if_o he_o be_v present_o ask_v what_o have_v be_v speak_v he_o can_v not_o tell_v and_o shall_v he_o go_v about_o to_o answer_v will_v cause_v shame_n to_o himself_o mark_n 8._o 17._o 18._o the_o care_n of_o this_o world_n which_o be_v the_o fruit_n of_o covetousness_n do_v so_o overcharge_v the_o heart_n so_o great_o burden_v it_o that_o the_o man_n be_v make_v altogether_o unmeet_a for_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a luk._n 21._o 34-36_a or_o 2._o though_o man_n be_v diligent_a in_o hear_v and_o attend_v at_o the_o post_n of_o wisdom_n door_n yet_o this_o affection_n and_o lust_n follow_v lead_v to_o pervert_v what_o be_v right_a and_o so_o to_o turn_v our_o table_n into_o a_o snare_n as_o it_o be_v with_o they_o in_o joh._n 6._o as_o before_o be_v say_v it_o so_o deprive_v of_o understanding_n as_o to_o move_v a_o man_n always_o in_o hear_v to_o be_v seek_v meat_n for_o his_o lust_n and_o so_o to_o be_v wrest_v what_o he_o hear_v as_o that_o he_o may_v through_o his_o own_o wisdom_n which_o be_v enmity_n against_o god_n word_n seek_v to_o strengthen_v himself_o and_o make_v provision_n for_o this_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n thus_o it_o be_v here_o in_o this_o luk._n 12._o while_o our_o saviour_n be_v admonish_v his_o disciple_n in_o the_o hear_n of_o the_o multitude_n of_o save_v their_o life_n and_o strengthen_v they_o against_o the_o fear_n of_o part_v with_o they_o and_o so_o consequent_o of_o part_v with_o every_o thing_n for_o his_o sake_n the_o man_n as_o overlook_v the_o scope_n and_o end_n of_o our_o savior_n word_n and_o only_o conceive_v that_o he_o be_v a_o good_a man_n vent_v forth_o his_o covetous_a desire_n to_o he_o there_o be_v not_o the_o least_o thing_n in_o the_o instruction_n and_o admonition_n give_v to_o encourage_v hereto_o yea_o they_o be_v altogether_o against_o covetousness_n and_o yet_o so_o brutish_a will_v this_o lust_n make_v a_o man_n as_o to_o turn_v that_o which_o may_v have_v be_v for_o his_o welfare_n into_o a_o snare_n unto_o he_o thus_o we_o may_v see_v in_o many_o thing_n when_o a_o man_n hear_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n faithful_o and_o without_o hide_a thing_n of_o dishonesty_n preach_v in_o which_o be_v show_v to_o we_o the_o greatness_n and_o strength_n of_o god_n love_n as_o manifest_v in_o christ_n and_o his_o loathness_n that_o man_n shall_v perish_v and_o how_o his_o grace_n have_v abound_v where_o sin_n abound_v this_o covetousness_n be_v incline_v to_o will_v now_o lead_v a_o man_n to_o strengthen_v himself_o in_o his_o evil_a way_n and_o secret_o thus_o to_o reason_n see_v he_o be_v so_o gracious_a and_o so_o cordial_a a_o lover_n of_o mankind_n i_o shall_v have_v peace_n though_o i_o walk_v after_o the_o imagination_n of_o my_o own_o heart_n i_o may_v continue_v in_o this_o my_o sin_n and_o god_n will_v be_v merciful_a to_o i_o notwithstanding_o hence_o the_o apostle_n after_o he_o have_v be_v show_v how_o god_n commend_v his_o love_n to_o we_o in_o that_o while_n we_o be_v yet_o sinner_n christ_n die_v for_o we_o and_o the_o freeness_n and_o largeness_n of_o his_o grace_n in_o this_o gift_n of_o grace_n that_o it_o exceed_v the_o offence_n of_o the_o first_o man_n etc._n etc._n rom._n 5._o he_o then_o to_o show_v how_o that_o wisdom_n in_o we_o that_o covetousness_n in_o the_o root_n will_v pervert_v this_o add_v what_o say_v we_o then_o shall_v we_o continue_v in_o sin_n that_o grace_n may_v abound_v god_n forbid_v rom._n 6._o 13_a so_o when_o a_o man_n with_o the_o instruction_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n be_v admonish_v of_o sloathfulness_n in_o business_n and_o show_v how_o unsuitable_a it_o be_v to_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n and_o those_o commandment_n give_v we_o by_o the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o example_n set_v before_o we_o for_o our_o imitation_n to_o be_v idle_a and_o that_o such_o as_o will_v not_o work_v shall_v not_o eat_v now_o this_o covetousness_n pervert_v what_o be_v right_a will_v both_o lead_v a_o man_n as_o with_o respect_n to_o himself_o to_o be_v unsober_a in_o his_o exercise_n about_o the_o thing_n here_o below_o and_o to_o work_v that_o he_o may_v lay_v up_o treasure_n for_o himself_o here_o on_o earth_n and_o suppose_v this_o to_o be_v godliness_n and_o a_o virtue_n because_o opposite_a to_o the_o former_a vice_n though_o indeed_o it_o be_v another_o extreme_a of_o which_o we_o be_v warn_v math._n 6._o 19_o eph._n 4._o 28._o or_o else_o it_o will_v lead_v he_o as_o with_o respect_n to_o other_o to_o be_v over_o quick-sighted_a and_o say_v other_o be_v idle_a and_o will_v not_o work_v and_o such_o shall_v not_o eat_v the_o apostle_n have_v so_o command_v and_o pretendâ—â—_n this_o to_o be_v their_o duty_n to_o withhold_v from_o they_o when_o they_o be_v serve_v their_o covetousness_n hence_o the_o apostle_n when_o he_o have_v warn_v of_o idleness_n and_o command_v with_o quietness_n to_o work_v and_o eat_v their_o own_o bread_n he_o add_v but_o you_o brethren_n be_v not_o weary_a of_o well_o do_v as_o intimate_v that_o the_o flesh_n will_v be_v ready_a to_o pervert_v this_o and_o lead_v a_o man_n to_o withhold_v more_o than_o be_v meet_v 2_o thes_n 3._o 10-13_a and_o so_o when_o people_n be_v low_a and_o in_o strait_n and_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o tiding_n of_o the_o freeness_n of_o god_n grace_n in_o christ_n and_o what_o this_o will_v work_v in_o they_o that_o receive_v it_o with_o the_o heart_n how_o this_o will_v frame_v they_o to_o be_v give_v all_o the_o day_n long_o to_o give_v to_o he_o that_o ask_v according_a to_o our_o ability_n etc._n etc._n oh_o say_v this_o covetousness_n this_o be_v a_o bless_a doctrine_n indeed_o and_o these_o be_v the_o people_n we_o will_v cleave_v to_o and_o follow_v with_o while_n mean_a time_n their_o heart_n go_v after_o their_o covetousness_n and_o they_o profess_o follow_v christ_n for_o the_o loaf_n sake_n and_o be_v seek_v meat_n for_o their_o lust_n and_o never_o consider_v how_o this_o grace_n come_v to_o save_v they_o and_o in_o bring_v salvation_n move_v and_o strengthen_v that_o deny_v ungodliness_n and_o worldly_a lust_n we_o shall_v live_v sober_o etc._n etc._n 3._o or_o else_o it_o will_v cause_v a_o man_n to_o take_v offence_n at_o the_o light_n because_o of_o its_o
