well_o with_o we_o and_o if_o we_o be_v in_o prosperity_n we_o attribute_v all_o our_o welfare_n not_o to_o god_n good_a blessing_n but_o to_o blind_a fortune_n and_o chance_n if_o our_o enemy_n do_v hurt_v we_o and_o do_v we_o any_o wrong_a and_o injury_n we_o be_v stir_v up_o and_o inflame_v as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o rage_n to_o revenge_v it_o to_o the_o utmost_a this_o ungodliness_n be_v rife_o in_o the_o world_n and_o rule_v in_o our_o corrupt_a nature_n but_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n do_v teach_v we_o and_o persuade_v our_o heart_n to_o deny_v this_o and_o all_o other_o kind_n of_o ungodliness_n and_o to_o have_v a_o reverend_a opinion_n of_o all_o matter_n which_o concern_v god_n and_o godliness_n the_o grace_n of_o god_n it_o teach_v that_o there_o be_v no_o heavenly_a gift_n where_o with_o we_o be_v endue_v but_o come_v of_o god_n who_o be_v the_o fountain_n from_o whence_o godliness_n learning_n wisdom_n and_o all_o other_o excellent_a gift_n do_v flow_v when_o god_n outward_a blessing_n be_v in_o abundance_n with_o we_o by_o his_o grace_n we_o know_v that_o his_o providence_n do_v enrich_v we_o and_o not_o our_o labour_n our_o wisdom_n or_o wealth_n but_o the_o bountiful_a hand_n of_o god_n which_o be_v all_o in_o all_o whereby_o we_o be_v persuade_v to_o love_n and_o fear_n god_n to_o have_v a_o reverend_a regard_n of_o he_o to_o make_v our_o prayer_n because_o our_o unlawful_a and_o ungodly_a request_n be_v not_o grant_v us._n be_v thorough_o instruct_v by_o god_n spirit_n we_o then_o learn_v that_o there_o be_v no_o mean_a so_o effectual_a to_o make_v god_n our_o friend_n as_o prayer_n be_v especial_o if_o it_o be_v well_o and_o right_o use_v as_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v and_o when_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n by_o his_o grace_n be_v plant_v mind_n even_o towards_o our_o enemy_n and_o which_o teach_v we_o that_o it_o be_v god_n will_v and_o commandment_n that_o we_o shall_v forgive_v other_o as_o we_o ourselves_o will_v be_v forgive_v but_o if_o this_o alteration_n and_o sanctification_n be_v not_o breed_v in_o we_o by_o god_n grace_n that_o teach_v we_o to_o deny_v ungodliness_n how_o be_v it_o possible_a but_o that_o with_o the_o world_n we_o shall_v be_v most_o profane_o mind_v and_o as_o a_o people_n without_o god_n in_o this_o present_a world_n this_o word_n ungodliness_n touch_v not_o only_o the_o prophanesse_n of_o our_o mind_n and_o our_o heathenish_a imagination_n but_o have_v respect_n also_o unto_o superstition_n and_o all_o heresy_n in_o religion_n for_o the_o darkness_n of_o our_o deceive_a mind_n do_v herein_o go_v astray_o in_o the_o vanity_n of_o their_o thought_n for_o the_o true_a god_n the_o heathen_a worship_n the_o sun_n the_o moon_n and_o the_o star_n the_o turk_n his_o mahomet_n another_o people_n fall_v down_o before_o image_n creep_v to_o cross_n go_v in_o pilgrimage_n to_o the_o relic_n of_o saint_n put_v the_o only_a hope_n of_o their_o salvation_n in_o their_o good_a work_n and_o if_o that_o serve_v not_o they_o make_v account_v that_o the_o prayer_n of_o they_o that_o be_v live_v shall_v do_v they_o good_a after_o they_o be_v dead_a and_o release_v they_o be_v in_o torment_n they_o make_v their_o prayer_n unto_o saint_n and_o think_v by_o pardon_n and_o indulgence_n and_o such_o mean_n to_o have_v their_o sin_n forgive_v they_o be_v they_o never_o so_o many_o so_o great_a so_o heinous_a and_o so_o gréevous_a but_o when_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n do_v teach_v we_o instruct_v we_o and_o lighten_v our_o mind_n than_o all_o blind_a superstition_n and_o ungodly_a heresy_n vanish_v away_o at_o the_o trial_n of_o the_o truth_n even_o as_o the_o fog_n and_o mist_n do_v break_v away_o when_o the_o sun_n appear_v in_o his_o force_n and_o well_o may_v such_o false_a opinion_n vanish_v away_o because_o they_o be_v but_o vanity_n copper_n bear_v a_o show_n of_o gold_n and_o may_v be_v flourish_v over_o to_o deceive_v the_o eye_n of_o the_o simple_a but_o when_o it_o come_v to_o be_v try_v by_o the_o touchstone_n it_o appear_v to_o be_v a_o vain_a thing_n and_o a_o thing_n of_o no_o account_n in_o comparison_n of_o gold_n so_o all_o superstition_n and_o heresy_n may_v go_v for_o true_a religion_n in_o the_o mind_n of_o simple_a and_o ignorant_a people_n but_o when_o they_o come_v to_o the_o touchstone_n the_o true_a trial_n i_o mean_v the_o word_n of_o god_n then_o if_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n do_v work_n in_o our_o heart_n by_o the_o read_n and_o hear_v of_o the_o word_n than_o we_o begin_v to_o deny_v the_o ungodliness_n of_o false_a religion_n and_o daily_o more_o and_o more_o we_o grow_v in_o this_o grace_n and_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o truth_n the_o ignorant_a mind_n of_o the_o heathen_a worship_v the_o sun_n the_o moon_n and_o the_o star_n when_o god_n grant_v they_o of_o his_o knowledge_n as_o no_o doubt_n god_n vouchsafe_v some_o they_o shall_v understand_v that_o the_o sun_n the_o moon_n and_o the_o star_n be_v but_o god_n creature_n and_o that_o there_o be_v a_o creator_n that_o make_v they_o and_o a_o redeemer_n that_o die_v for_o they_o for_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v preach_v throughout_o the_o world_n and_o then_o shall_v the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n come_v the_o turk_n although_o many_o of_o they_o and_o that_o the_o most_o part_n of_o they_o mock_v and_o scoff_n at_o our_o crucify_a christ_n yet_o the_o seal_n of_o god_n remain_v sure_a and_o some_o be_v call_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o god_n forbid_v yâ—_z the_o grace_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v deny_v unto_o they_o although_o thousand_o of_o they_o do_v perish_v they_o may_v be_v inward_o touch_v and_o god_n may_v vouchsafe_v they_o of_o favour_n and_o make_v they_o partaker_n of_o his_o mercy_n and_o they_o may_v believe_v although_o they_o make_v not_o so_o ample_a profession_n of_o their_o faith_n and_o belief_n those_o who_o we_o call_v papist_n who_o be_v deceive_v of_o the_o truth_n many_o of_o they_o be_v not_o persuade_v nor_o ever_o will_v yield_v to_o be_v persuade_v because_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n to_o they_o have_v not_o as_o yet_o appear_v for_o why_o they_o be_v carry_v away_o with_o high_a conceit_n of_o their_o own_o deceive_a mind_n they_o think_v their_o own_o invention_n and_o tradition_n to_o be_v of_o equal_a force_n with_o god_n word_n whereas_o they_o shall_v in_o all_o humble_a sort_n submit_v themselves_o theâ—_n unto_o they_o think_v so_o high_o of_o themselves_o that_o by_o their_o own_o good_a work_n they_o may_v deserve_v heaven_n so_o that_o the_o salvation_n of_o god_n which_o come_v by_o his_o grace_n and_o mercy_n be_v tread_v under_o their_o foot_n what_o be_v pilgrimage_n and_o relic_n and_o prayer_n to_o saint_n and_o purgatory_n but_o man_n invention_n which_o they_o can_v never_o approve_v to_o be_v good_a neither_o shall_v they_o ever_o find_v warrant_n for_o they_o in_o god_n word_n the_o grace_n of_o god_n teach_v they_o to_o deny_v the_o ungodliness_n of_o man_n device_n invention_n and_o tradition_n and_o so_o much_o the_o more_o because_o god_n have_v pronounce_v a_o curse_n to_o they_o that_o shall_v add_v or_o put_v too_o or_o diminish_v and_o take_v away_o any_o thing_n from_o his_o word_n i_o protest_v say_v the_o spirit_n of_o of_o god_n unto_o every_o man_n reu._n 22._o 18._o 19_o that_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o the_o prophecy_n of_o this_o book_n if_o any_o man_n shall_v add_v unto_o these_o thing_n god_n shall_v add_v unto_o he_o the_o plague_n that_o be_v write_v in_o this_o past_a and_o a_o fear_n lest_o through_o our_o corruption_n they_o shall_v fall_v out_o again_o when_o there_o be_v a_o great_a desire_n to_o prevent_v they_o a_o zeal_n against_o they_o and_o a_o punish_v of_o they_o by_o exercise_v all_o due_a authority_n which_o god_n have_v give_v we_o against_o sin_n and_o final_o when_o there_o be_v a_o great_a desire_n in_o we_o to_o spend_v all_o the_o rest_n of_o our_o time_n not_o according_a to_o the_o will_n and_o commandment_n of_o god_n the_o deny_v of_o our_o worldly_a lust_n be_v nothing_o but_o the_o hatred_n of_o our_o sinful_a way_n be_v to_o the_o devil_n to_o see_v man_n and_o woman_n who_o be_v create_v to_o the_o image_n of_o god_n to_o delight_v more_o in_o the_o work_n of_o darkness_n then_o of_o light_n and_o so_o with_o might_n and_o main_a as_o they_o say_v to_o make_v speed_n to_o their_o own_o destruction_n second_o if_o we_o consider_v what_o harm_n sin_n bring_v and_o how_o much_o it_o hurt_v not_o ourselves_o mind_n to_o a_o mean_a and_o to_o a_o measure_n know_v that_o as_o god_n blessing_n be_v in_o the_o use_n of_o his_o creature_n so_o in_o the_o abuse_n and_o sinful_a use_v of_o they_o they_o turn_v to_o our_o curse_n and_o unless_o we_o amend_v to_o our_o condemnation_n the_o property_n of_o our_o sinful_a lust_n be_v in_o all_o excess_n and_o lust_n lust_n therefore_o it_o be_v well_o say_v judgement_n of_o all_o contemn_v and_o despise_v great_a difference_n there_o be_v betwixt_o necessity_n and_o superfluity_n even_o as_o much_o as_o betwixt_o life_n and_o death_n who_o know_v it_o not_o that_o of_o drunkenness_n gout_n &_o dropsy_n and_o such_o disease_n grow_v which_o make_v a_o man_n loathsome_a to_o other_o yea_o to_o himself_o and_o he_o be_v weary_a of_o his_o life_n and_o so_o at_o last_o his_o painful_a and_o languish_a day_n be_v cut_v off_o who_o may_v have_v live_v long_o many_o a_o fair_a day_n what_o do_v gluttony_n bring_v but_o surfeiting_n and_o oftentimes_o a_o speedy_a riddance_n therefore_o it_o be_v well_o say_v of_o a_o wise_a man_n plures_fw-la gula_fw-la quam_fw-la gladio_fw-la periere_fw-la that_o be_v more_o die_v by_o surfeit_v and_o
