exhibit_v or_o declare_v that_o therefore_o or_o because_o of_o such_o their_o distinct_a profession_n or_o for_o any_o other_o cause_n they_o be_v the_o only_o professor_n and_o embracer_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n and_o the_o only_o follower_n of_o the_o light_n and_o the_o only_o converter_n of_o themselves_o to_o it_o which_o be_v the_o word_n of_o j._n n_n charge_n as_o likewise_o when_o any_o one_o be_v proselit_v to_o the_o quaker_n way_n that_o it_o be_v ordinary_a for_o they_o to_o say_v such_o a_o one_o be_v turn_v to_o the_o light_n from_o whence_o he_o say_v he_o think_v he_o have_v very_o good_a reason_n to_o say_v that_o the_o quaker_n confine_v the_o light_n to_o their_o own_o party_n as_o to_o the_o act_n of_o illumination_n note_v by_o the_o way_n the_o quaker_n understand_v better_o it_o be_v one_o thing_n to_o profess_v the_o light_n and_o it_o be_v another_o thing_n to_o turn_v to_o it_o until_o this_o charge_n be_v prove_v on_o which_o this_o undue_a consequence_n be_v ground_v which_o i_o be_o well_o satisfy_v never_o can_v because_o i_o be_o well_o assure_v it_o be_v inconsistent_a with_o the_o christian_a principle_n and_o charity_n of_o the_o quaker_n so_o to_o believe_v and_o say_v whatever_o j._n n_n pretension_n be_v to_o good_a reason_n i_o must_v return_v it_o back_o upon_o he_o as_o a_o notorious_a slander_n of_o their_o christian_a depend_v upon_o certain_a condition_n and_o quallification_n and_o he_o that_o exclude_v all_o who_o have_v not_o these_o certain_a condition_n and_o qualification_n from_o be_v effectual_o and_o actual_o enlighten_v and_o redeem_v confine_v the_o light_n as_o to_o the_o act_n of_o its_o illumination_n and_o redemption_n to_o the_o person_n so_o qualify_v which_o be_v the_o reconcile_v and_o regenerate_v but_o j._n n._n do_v so_o make_v the_o divine_a light_n to_o be_v a_o enlightner_n in_o the_o same_o proportion_n as_o he_o be_v a_o redeemer_n etc._n etc._n and_o he_o do_v exclude_v other_o animal_n by_o which_o we_o know_v the_o whole_a be_v more_o than_o the_o part_n and_o the_o like_a and_o consequent_o as_o such_o be_v not_o proper_o term_v grace_n for_o certain_o as_o himself_o confess_v a_o man_n may_v understand_v without_o grace_n but_o by_o his_o leave_n i_o must_v tell_v he_o 47._o this_o be_v still_o a_o pitiful_a &_o disingenuous_a shuffle_n for_o his_o assertion_n in_o three_o several_a place_n be_v positive_o exclusive_a of_o actual_a illumination_n to_o all_o but_o such_o as_o consult_v it_o and_o attend_v to_o it_o now_o if_o notwithstanding_o this_o restriction_n and_o limitation_n he_o supply_v there_o be_v none_o but_o what_o do_v consult_v it_o and_o attend_v to_o it_o his_o limitation_n be_v frivolous_a and_o impertinent_a and_o if_o he_o say_v one_o thing_n and_o suppose_v another_o and_o shall_v continue_v in_o this_o practice_n whatever_o his_o learned_a world_n think_v of_o he_o in_o time_n it_o will_v not_o be_v much_o regard_v what_o he_o either_o say_v or_o suppose_n i_o be_o sure_a he_o have_v declare_v that_o the_o divine_a light_n be_v a_o enlightner_n in_o the_o same_o proportion_n he_o be_v a_o redeemer_n and_o that_o he_o make_v to_o be_v a_o reconcile_v and_o save_v estate_n dependig_fw-ge upon_o and_o consequent_a to_o certain_a condition_n and_o qualification_n and_o in_o that_o respect_n make_v actual_a illumination_n to_o be_v parralel_n with_o it_o and_o not_o otherwise_o now_o he_o may_v with_o as_o much_o reason_n and_o truth_n suppose_v and_o assert_v that_o all_o be_v actual_o redeem_a because_o they_o can_v read_v profess_v and_o talk_v of_o it_o as_o he_o may_v that_o all_o be_v actual_o enlighten_v by_o the_o divine_a light_n because_o they_o have_v the_o excercise_n of_o their_o rational_a faculty_n but_o to_o examine_v the_o matter_n a_o little_a far_o let_v his_o 5_o the_o proposition_n be_v consider_v and_o we_o shall_v find_v it_o state_v in_o his_o own_o person_n viz._n my_o light_n do_v not_o formal_o enlighten_v or_o instruct_v i_o but_o when_o i_o attend_v to_o it_o and_o consult_v it_o and_o read_v what_o be_v write_v in_o those_o divine_a ideal_o character_n will_v j._n n._n have_v we_o understand_v he_o that_o this_o enlighten_v and_o instruct_v which_o require_v his_o attention_n and_o consult_v etc._n etc._n have_v relation_n to_o his_o rational_a faculty_n to_o render_v he_o a_o rational_a and_o intelligent_a be_v sure_o he_o do_v not_o intend_v so_o then_o for_o this_o double_a reason_n viz._n that_o before_o he_o do_v consult_v and_o attend_v to_o the_o light_n it_o will_v follow_v he_o can_v not_o be_v a_o rational_a and_o intelligent_a be_v and_o shall_v cease_v to_o continue_v so_o any_o long_a than_o while_o he_o continue_v his_o attention_n and_o consult_v which_o be_v to_o make_v his_o actual_a illumination_n and_o consequent_o the_o mean_n by_o which_o it_o be_v procure_v equal_o necessary_a at_o all_o time_n well_o then_o why_o must_v we_o understand_v his_o actual_a illumination_n of_o all_o in_o this_o sense_n now_o since_o the_o same_o consequence_n will_v lie_v but_o to_o serve_v a_o turn_n but_o take_v it_o either_o way_n it_o bring_v he_o under_o a_o dilemma_n for_o if_o his_o light_n and_o its_o act_n of_o illumination_n be_v universal_o extensive_a only_o in_o a_o degree_n necessary_a to_o render_v man_n rational_a and_o intelligent_a being_n suppose_v in_o that_o degree_n all_o consult_v it_o then_o in_o that_o degree_n it_o be_v not_o grace_n but_o if_o he_o make_v his_o light_n to_o be_v grace_n and_o the_o act_n of_o its_o illumination_n universal_o extensive_a only_o to_o such_o as_o attend_v to_o it_o and_o consult_v it_o and_o then_o suppose_v all_o do_v in_o some_o measure_n attend_v to_o it_o and_o consult_v it_o and_o that_o consequent_o all_o be_v enlighten_v he_o places_z the_o stress_n of_o his_o consequence_n upon_o a_o presumption_n and_o supposition_n unallowable_a because_o untrue_a for_o all_o do_v not_o attend_v to_o and_o consult_v the_o divine_a light_n as_o so_o consider_v but_o most_o resist_v it_o and_o rebel_n against_o the_o light_n who_o know_v not_o the_o path_n thereof_o thus_o j._n n's_o supposition_n fail_v his_o consequence_n sink_v with_o it_o and_o his_o proposition_n in_o the_o former_a quotation_n be_v divest_v and_o clear_v
