mediator_n advancement_n before_o our_o advancement_n 3_o it_o be_v the_o very_a design_n of_o god_n in_o the_o gospel_n way_n of_o our_o salvation_n to_o take_v down_o our_o honour_n that_o the_o creature_n may_v not_o glory_v in_o itself_o but_o all_o may_v be_v acknowledge_v to_o free_a grace_n and_o shall_v we_o think_v it_o a_o wrong_n if_o we_o have_v not_o a_o righteousness_n as_o honourable_a to_o ourselves_o as_o that_o which_o we_o lose_v 4_o our_o happiness_n will_v be_v great_a though_o our_o honour_n will_v be_v less_o for_o we_o shall_v have_v a_o far_o great_a glory_n and_o that_o be_v better_a than_o mere_a honour_n 5_o yea_o we_o shall_v have_v more_o honour_n than_o we_o lose_v a_o real_a honour_n of_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o member_n of_o christ_n and_o heir_n of_o glory_n and_o this_o be_v great_a than_o the_o honour_n of_o our_o perseverance_n will_v have_v be_v only_o this_o be_v all_o free_o give_v redound_v to_o the_o giver_n but_o still_o the_o real_a honour_n and_o happiness_n we_o enjoy_v therefore_o be_v it_o the_o everlasting_a work_n of_o saint_n to_o praise_v the_o lamb_n who_o have_v redeem_v they_o out_o of_o a●l_a nation_n and_o make_v they_o king_n and_o priest_n to_o god_n which_o imply_v a_o acknowledgement_n of_o their_o former_a disobedience_n and_o misery_n and_o so_o take_v dishonour_n to_o themselves_o and_o yet_o the_o great_a glory_n to_o christ_n and_o happiness_n to_o they_o 6._o moreover_o we_o have_v now_o beside_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n satisfaction_n a_o personal_a evangelical_a righteousness_n consist_v in_o the_o fulfil_n of_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o law_n of_o grace_n so_o that_o our_o little_a loss_n of_o the_o honour_n of_o self-performance_n you_o see_v be_v in_o these_o 6._o respect_n abundant_o recompense_v so_o that_o to_o ourselves_o a_o righteousness_n of_o tisfaction_n be_v better_a than_o a_o righteousness_n of_o personal_a obedience_n and_o as_o it_o be_v find_v in_o christ_n it_o be_v also_o in_o itself_o more_o excellent_a yet_o further_o that_o it_o be_v not_o derogatory_n to_o christ_n do_v thus_o appear_v 1_o he_o have_v in_o himself_o both_o sort_n of_o righteousness_n viz._n of_o obedience_n to_o the_o precept_n and_o of_o satisfaction_n to_o the_o threaten_a though_o both_o can_v not_o be_v we_o retain_v their_o form_n as_o such_o because_o the_o law_n require_v but_o one_o sort_n of_o righteousness_n of_o one_o person_n for_o himself_o so_o that_o we_o derogate_v nothing_o from_o christ_n righteousness_n or_o perfection_n 2._o both_o these_o sort_n in_o christ_n viz._n his_o active_a and_o passive_a as_o i_o conceive_v do_v concur_v to_o make_v up_o that_o one_o sort_n of_o righteousness_n necessary_a for_o we_o viz._n or_o satisfaction_n to_o the_o threaten_a and_o so_o both_o conjunct_a be_v our_o righteousness_n though_o not_o as_o two_o sort_n of_o righteousness_n but_o as_o one_o yet_o i_o know_v that_o this_o be_v somewhat_o dark_a and_o doubtful_a because_o obedience_n be_v a_o thing_n command_v and_o not_o threaten_v but_o yet_o see_v christ_n pay_v not_o the_o idem_fw-la but_o the_o tantundem_fw-la not_o the_o very_a same_o debt_n mention_v in_o the_o threaten_n but_o the_o value_n i_o think_v therefore_o that_o his_o obedience_n as_o such_o may_v go_v in_o to_o his_o satisfaction_n 3._o i_o also_o free_o acknowledge_v that_o the_o additional_a happiness_n which_o we_o have_v by_o christ_n more_o than_o we_o lose_v in_o adam_n contain_v in_o our_o adoption_n union_n with_o christ_n and_o glorificacation_n be_v procure_v by_o christ_n active_a obedience_n as_o such_o as_o well_o as_o by_o his_o satisfaction_n in_o suffering_n if_o yet_o beside_o all_o this_o any_o will_v maintain_v that_o we_o fulfil_v the_o precept_n of_o the_o law_n in_o christ_n or_o that_o his_o fulfil_n of_o they_o as_o such_o be_v our_o righteousness_n let_v they_o show_v i_o solid_o what_o need_n we_o have_v of_o christ_n suffering_n and_o let_v they_o answer_v what_o be_v say_v to_o the_o contrary_a by_o the_o formentioned_a author_n and_o i_o shall_v quick_o yield_v to_o conclude_v that_o god_n accept_v this_o righteousness_n of_o satisfaction_n as_o be_v equivalent_a to_o that_o of_o obedience_n though_o obedience_n be_v first_o in_o the_o law_n and_o the_o precept_n the_o principal_a part_n and_o so_o that_o he_o be_v as_o well_o please_v with_o we_o as_o if_o we_o have_v obey_v may_v appear_v from_o the_o end_n &_o nature_n of_o satisfactory_a punishment_n for_o the_o penalty_n of_o a_o perfect_a just_a law_n be_v suppose_v to_o be_v such_o that_o it_o will_v make_v a_o perfect_a compensation_n or_o satisfaction_n for_o all_o the_o wrong_n we_o have_v do_v to_o the_o lawmaker_n or_o the_o public_a so_o that_o be_v pay_v or_o suffer_v we_o must_v needs_o in_o point_n of_o innocency_n be_v in_o statu_fw-la quo_fw-la prius_fw-la i_o know_v some_o object_n thus_o if_o
