love_n and_o that_o will_v strengthen_v faith_n again_o and_o so_o for_o the_o rest_n three_o if_o you_o will_v grow_v in_o grace_n you_o must_v be_v much_o in_o prayer_n for_o a_o man_n of_o much_o can_v more_o easy_o find_v time_n for_o any_o thing_n then_o for_o prayer_n every_o other_o business_n have_v its_o hour_n to_o attend_v upon_o but_o if_o any_o thing_n be_v neglect_v it_o must_v be_v prayer_n or_o else_o post_v over_o whereas_o alas_o it_o will_v no_o more_o hinder_v our_o business_n then_o our_o meal-time_n do_v which_o must_v be_v have_v and_o i_o know_v brethren_n that_o some_o of_o we_o be_v able_a to_o say_v it_o that_o we_o have_v see_v when_o the_o prosper_a presence_n of_o the_o lord_n have_v be_v with_o we_o we_o have_v come_v on_o more_o and_o do_v more_o in_o a_o short_a time_n then_o at_o another_o time_n in_o many_o time_n as_o long_o a_o time_n and_o yet_o so_o wretched_a heart_n we_o have_v that_o we_o content_v ourselves_o with_o any_o thing_n in_o this_o duty_n if_o we_o appear_v before_o the_o lord_n we_o think_v it_o be_v enough_o we_o do_v not_o strive_v unto_o prayer_n and_o watch_v unto_o prayer_n and_o labour_n by_o blow_v the_o green_a wood_n that_o will_v hardly_o kindle_v to_o get_v it_o on_o a_o flame_n before_o we_o go_v out_o of_o his_o presence_n o_o jacob_n will_v not_o let_v he_o go_v without_o a_o blessing_n brethren_n in_o what_o heart_n that_o be_v full_a of_o such_o corruption_n or_o a_o body_n full_a of_o such_o humour_n you_o know_v be_v much_o more_o sleepy_a than_o another_o well_o then_o to_o bring_v it_o to_o a_o issue_n when_o sin_n so_o full_o prevail_v over_o we_o as_o to_o damp_n the_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n either_o for_o a_o short_a time_n it_o be_v quick_o dispel_v there_o be_v a_o slumber_v or_o be_v a_o part_n of_o folly_n for_o the_o wise_a virgin_n to_o sleep_v yet_o we_o may_v not_o without_o great_a wrong_n to_o they_o and_o the_o grace_n of_o christ_n in_o they_o call_v they_o foolish_a plead_v exemption_n except_o they_o can_v be_v of_o the_o church_n of_o christ_n and_o yet_o not_o come_v under_o the_o notion_n of_o foolish_a or_o wise_a virgin_n but_o the_o difficulty_n and_o indeed_o all_o that_o will_v be_v worth_a the_o time_n to_o prove_v will_v be_v the_o universality_n of_o the_o predicate_v they_o be_v apt_a to_o sleep_v when_o they_o have_v most_o need_n to_o wake_v that_o be_v to_o say_v whensoever_o they_o have_v more_o need_n to_o awake_v then_o at_o another_o time_n than_o they_o be_v apt_a to_o sleep_v this_o i_o know_v not_o how_o to_o prove_v better_a then_o by_o a_o induction_n of_o particular_n here_o be_v one_o in_o the_o text_n and_o there_o be_v the_o like_a aptitude_n find_v of_o their_o sleep_v at_o all_o other_o time_n of_o need_n therefore_o we_o conclude_v it_o so_o general_a that_o they_o be_v apt_a to_o sleep_v when_o they_o have_v most_o need_n to_o awake_v for_o this_o time_n in_o the_o text_n i_o think_v hardly_o any_o will_v question_v it_o for_o man_n to_o be_v sleep_v when_o they_o shall_v be_v make_v ready_a and_o stand_v ready_a for_o the_o appear_v of_o their_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n be_v to_o be_v sleep_v when_o they_o have_v great_a need_n to_o be_v awake_a the_o carnal_a mind_n indeed_o will_v be_v ready_a to_o sing_v a_o requiem_n to_o itself_o and_o say_v it_o be_v no_o matter_n so_o we_o have_v but_o a_o warning_n a_o little_a before_o he_o come_v that_o we_o may_v have_v time_n to_o trim_v our_o lamp_n before_o he_o come_v though_o we_o be_v find_v sleep_v but_o sure_o brethren_n the_o spiritual_a part_n will_v judge_v otherwise_o that_o there_o be_v great_a need_n to_o be_v wake_v at_o the_o latter_a end_n of_o the_o race_n when_o they_o shall_v lay_v hold_n on_o eternal_a life_n now_o 11._o be_v high_a time_n say_v the_o apostle_n to_o awake_v your_o salvation_n be_v near_a if_o ever_o there_o be_v need_n to_o have_v our_o ornament_n on_o our_o grace_n in_o a_o lively_a be_v yet_o apt_a to_o brethren_n how_o many_o do_v we_o see_v grow_v more_o heavy_a and_o dull_a less_o life_n and_o vigour_n and_o power_n to_o act_v their_o grace_n then_o before_o 2._o again_o another_o time_n of_o great_a need_n to_o be_v awake_a be_v when_o there_o be_v the_o choice_a communication_n of_o christ_n to_o the_o soul_n to_o be_v have_v that_o be_v awake_a and_o ready_a to_o receive_v they_o every_o one_o sure_o will_v conclude_v this_o be_v a_o time_n of_o great_a need_n for_o if_o we_o sleep_v out_o such_o a_o season_n as_o that_o what_o may_v we_o lose_v it_o may_v be_v that_o which_o we_o shall_v never_o have_v opportunity_n to_o have_v again_o while_o we_o live_v so_o the_o disciple_n when_o they_o shall_v have_v behold_v christ_n in_o his_o glory_n he_o be_v pray_v and_o take_v up_o his_o disciple_n those_o three_o favourite_n to_o pray_v with_o he_o well_o he_o be_v pray_v and_o as_o he_o pray_v the_o fashion_n of_o his_o countenance_n be_v alter_v and_o how_o do_v the_o heart_n drowse_v for_o the_o most_o part_n when_o it_o shall_v come_v to_o it_o and_o when_o do_v the_o lord_n usual_o reveal_v more_o of_o his_o glory_n when_o do_v he_o usual_o make_v more_o of_o it_o to_o pass_v by_o a_o poor_a soul_n or_o company_n of_o his_o people_n then_o in_o their_o pray_n therefore_o if_o at_o any_o time_n they_o have_v need_v to_o be_v awake_a this_o be_v the_o time_n but_o you_o see_v brethren_n they_o themselves_o be_v asleep_a that_o be_v the_o choice_n of_o the_o disciple_n and_o what_o they_o lose_v they_o be_v not_o like_a to_o recover_v they_o be_v not_o like_a to_o see_v such_o a_o sight_n again_o so_o much_o of_o his_o glory_n again_o and_o true_o brethren_n ordinary_a experience_n teach_v we_o some_o of_o we_o i_o believe_v that_o in_o the_o special_a ordinance_n of_o grace_n wherein_o jesus_n christ_n be_v hold_v out_o crucify_a hold_v out_o in_o his_o loveliness_n and_o glory_n there_o our_o heart_n be_v after_o the_o most_o melt_a warm_a communion_n and_o fellowship_n with_o christ_n as_o now_o after_o this_o tranfiguration_n when_o they_o have_v see_v this_o glory_n pass_v by_o they_o a_o man_n will_v have_v think_v this_o shall_v have_v ravish_v they_o so_o as_o to_o have_v keep_v they_o awake_a yea_o after_o they_o have_v the_o supper_n in_o the_o iustitution_n and_o no_o question_n brethren_n but_o there_o be_v a_o presence_n answerable_a to_o the_o institution_n and_o for_o the_o honour_n of_o the_o institutor_n as_o when_o himself_o be_v baptize_v the_o spirit_n come_v upon_o he_o o_o sure_a if_o the_o bodily_a presence_n be_v there_o the_o spiritual_a will_v not_o be_v want_v he_o will_v exalt_v that_o new_a testament-ordinance_n or_o seal_v above_o the_o other_o and_o not_o likely_a but_o he_o will_v do_v so_o that_o the_o disciple_n may_v even_o take_v notice_n that_o he_o be_v leave_v the_o one_o and_o take_v up_o the_o other_o instead_o of_o it_o at_o the_o dedication_n of_o the_o tabernacle_n and_o of_o the_o temple_n the_o glory_n of_o god_n fill_v they_o and_o i_o can_v believe_v but_o there_o be_v a_o wonderful_a glorious_a presence_n at_o the_o dedication_n of_o this_o ordinance_n if_o i_o may_v call_v it_o so_o well_o then_o after_o such_o discovery_n of_o christ_n brethren_n such_o warning_n to_o lie_v down_o and_o sleep_v how_o dangerous_a be_v it_o to_o catch_v cold_a after_o such_o a_o heat_n how_o will_v it_o grieve_v the_o lord_n to_o see_v so_o much_o grace_v lay_v out_o in_o vain_a upon_o we_o in_o a_o great_a part_n if_o we_o be_v sleep_v so_o quick_o again_o and_o it_o appear_v that_o peter_n he_o have_v his_o love_n and_o faith_n much_o heigthn_v but_o here_o be_v the_o mistake_n he_o rest_v too_o much_o upon_o it_o upon_o what_o he_o have_v receive_v o_o say_v he_o though_o all_o man_n forsake_v thou_o i_o will_v not_o deny_v thou_o &_o c_o yet_o alas_o you_o see_v when_o he_o shall_v have_v pray_v with_o righteousness_n and_o holiness_n make_v over_o to_o you_o impute_v unto_o you_o as_o a_o inner_a and_o outward_a garment_n or_o clothing_n i_o have_v hope_n of_o you_o you_o will_v not_o prove_v a_o lively_a frame_n our_o heart_n flame_v towards_o the_o lord_n continual_o the_o wise_a virgin_n they_o sleep_v and_o while_o they_o sleep_v they_o can_v not_o watch_v now_o they_o have_v grace_n in_o their_o heart_n but_o they_o keep_v it_o not_o in_o use_n in_o exercise_n as_o they_o shall_v have_v do_v and_o therefore_o they_o undergo_v much_o inconvenience_n as_o you_o have_v hear_v and_o that_o though_o a_o believer_n profession_n may_v decline_v and_o grow_v low_a and_o that_o towards_o his_o latter_a end_n or_o after_o he_o have_v long_o profess_v jesus_n christ_n yet_o it_o be_v which_o afterward_o a_o word_n or_o two_o brief_o to_o each_o of_o these_o first_o that_o a_o believer_n profession_n may_v decline_v which_o be_v somewhat_o of_o kin_n to_o what_o we_o speak_v before_o and_o therefore_o the_o less_o here_o the_o lamp_n may_v grow_v low_a first_o then_o the_o light_n which_o appear_v to_o be_v in_o the_o saint_n may_v grow_v low_a it_o may_v admit_v of_o mixture_n sometime_o of_o darkness_n which_o much_o dim_v the_o light_n i_o mean_v they_o may_v be_v much_o corrupt_v in_o their_o judgement_n and_o turn_v aside_o from_o the_o simplicity_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n this_o be_v clear_a in_o the_o galatian_n their_o â—ase_n you_o 7._o do_v run_v well_o who_o hinder_v you_o what_o be_v the_o matter_n it_o be_v a_o error_n and_o a_o gross_a persuasion_n such_o a_o assurance_n of_o his_o condition_n this_o therefore_o admit_v of_o a_o growth_n but_o not_o the_o relative_a grace_n itself_o but_o only_o our_o sense_n feel_v or_o knowledge_n we_o grow_v in_o every_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n whether_o we_o do_v grow_v alike_o in_o the_o measure_n of_o love_n as_o in_o the_o measure_n of_o faith_n or_o zeal_n or_o spiritualness_n as_o they_o may_v quick_o come_v to_o a_o great_a height_n but_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o reason_n i_o be_o carry_v further_o than_o i_o have_v any_o thought_n when_o i_o first_o mind_v it_o as_o a_o
