judgement_n of_o the_o church_n many_o man_n of_o eminent_a gift_n and_o grace_n that_o be_v know_v to_o be_v such_o whilst_o they_o remain_v in_o her_o communion_n do_v desert_n her_o communion_n it_o can_v but_o prove_v a_o inexplicable_a inconvenience_n both_o to_o the_o church_n and_o they_o for_o if_o all_o believe_v and_o teach_v the_o same_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n whence_o arise_v so_o much_o caution_n who_o we_o hear_v such_o exception_n heat_n and_o scruple_n if_o we_o do_v not_o all_o believe_v the_o same_o doctrine_n as_o it_o be_v to_o be_v doubt_v that_o we_o do_v not_o for_o as_o much_o as_o there_o seem_v not_o only_o to_o be_v a_o divers_a scope_n and_o drift_n in_o the_o press_n of_o many_o point_n of_o importance_n but_o that_o we_o fear_v our_o dissent_v brethren_n do_v not_o close_o with_o we_o in_o one_o of_o the_o 12_o article_n of_o the_o apostle_n creed_n though_o some_o of_o they_o do_v not_o scruple_n at_o stand_v up_o when_o the_o whole_a be_v rehearse_v in_o our_o church_n viz._n i_o believe_v the_o holy_a catholic_n church_n the_o communion_n of_o saint_n put_v such_o a_o construction_n upon_o it_o as_o be_v far_o from_o the_o consent_n not_o only_o of_o our_o church_n but_o of_o all_o age_n as_o we_o conceive_v i_o say_v how_o can_v we_o then_o grow_v up_o together_o into_o he_o in_o all_o thing_n which_o be_v the_o head_n even_o christ_n from_o who_o the_o whole_a body_n be_v fit_o join_v together_o unto_o one_o increase_n if_o they_o can_v hold_v still_o the_o same_o charity_n inviolable_a without_o the_o same_o order_n passion_n of_o such_o as_o be_v offend_v just_o as_o we_o conceive_v howsoever_o unjust_a or_o extravagant_a they_o may_v be_v when_o they_o be_v provoke_v let_v they_o join_v the_o whole_a verse_n together_o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o offence_n come_v but_o woe_n be_v to_o they_o by_o who_o they_o come_v but_o as_o we_o conceive_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n itself_o do_v necessary_o infer_v a_o breach_n of_o charity_n suppose_v man_n more_o good_a or_o perfect_a than_o either_o they_o or_o we_o can_v find_v or_o our_o ancestor_n before_o we_o or_o the_o posterity_n to_o come_v other_o must_v needs_o be_v as_o the_o jew_n or_o the_o samaritan_n but_o if_o it_o be_v grant_v that_o these_o two_o party_n can_v possible_o have_v perfect_a charity_n with_o one_o another_o which_o if_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n do_v not_o hinder_v the_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o violation_n of_o his_o own_o ordinance_n will_v do_v it_o than_o it_o must_v needs_o follow_v that_o the_o body_n can_v edify_v itself_o in_o love_n and_o so_o the_o church_n must_v needs_o retain_v a_o earnest_a desire_n to_o be_v restore_v to_o its_o best_a estate_n when_o it_o be_v in_o union_n for_o though_o we_o may_v remain_v possible_o member_n of_o the_o catholic_n church_n still_o yet_o because_o we_o doubt_v of_o our_o consent_n in_o the_o catholic_n faith_n we_o can_v be_v unite_v nor_o join_v in_o perfect_a charity_n and_o though_o we_o be_v all_o protestant_n and_o so_o member_n of_o one_o another_o we_o can_v take_v no_o great_a benefit_n or_o privilege_v thereby_o than_o english_a man_n when_o they_o be_v in_o civil_a war_n with_o one_o another_o to_o deal_v ingenious_o this_o be_v the_o charity_n of_o the_o church_n she_o look_v upon_o such_o good_a man_n who_o in_o charity_n we_o way_n esteem_v so_o in_o some_o measure_n as_o do_v divide_v and_o separate_v from_o we_o and_o such_o as_o they_o may_v draw_v with_o they_o to_o belong_v to_o the_o body_n still_o not_o only_o of_o the_o catholic_n church_n but_o of_o such_o particular_a church_n from_o which_o they_o do_v recede_v or_o within_o who_o precinct_n they_o may_v chance_v to_o fall_v therefore_o she_o be_v not_o rash_a to_o excommunicate_v they_o but_o use_v all_o her_o care_n and_o power_n and_o tenderness_n to_o reclaim_v and_o to_o reduce_v they_o have_v arm_n ever_o open_a to_o embrace_v they_o and_o to_o restore_v they_o to_o her_o peace_n and_o to_o indulge_v they_o in_o what_o she_o may_v to_o oblige_v they_o the_o fast_o to_o herself_o so_o far_o be_v we_o from_o look_v upon_o they_o as_o other_o church_n or_o that_o their_o schism_n can_v make_v they_o such_o or_o as_o free_v from_o our_o charge_n though_o they_o renounce_v we_o or_o as_o fall_v from_o the_o hope_n of_o the_o gospel_n with_o all_o their_o follower_n into_o a_o inevitable_a state_n of_o damnation_n though_o we_o can_v reduce_v they_o as_o the_o papist_n judge_v of_o
