and_o not_o consummate_v neither_o shall_v be_v till_o the_o last_o judgement_n for_o as_o yet_o the_o work_n be_v not_o finish_v all_o enemy_n be_v not_o subdue_v the_o date_n of_o christ_n commission_n be_v not_o expire_v the_o number_n of_o the_o saint_n be_v not_o yet_o finish_v the_o dead_a not_o raise_v and_o therefore_o neither_o they_o nor_o saint_n be_v full_o glorify_v nor_o compact_v into_o one_o entire_a body_n under_o christ_n their_o heâ—d_n and_o one_o day_n they_o shall_v be_v when_o the_o sun_n of_o glory_n shall_v shine_v upon_o they_o in_o his_o full_a strength_n saint_n be_v not_o without_o a_o guard_n of_o angel_n that_o they_o continue_v loyal_a and_o obedient_a be_v not_o from_o themselves_o but_o from_o god_n who_o make_v they_o and_o do_v assist_v and_o strengthen_v they_o so_o as_o to_o prevent_v their_o fall_n and_o their_o confirmation_n and_o glorious_a reward_n issue_v from_o god_n free_a love_n therefore_o they_o be_v bind_v to_o give_v all_o government_n be_v different_a as_o shall_v appear_v hereafter_o this_o government_n of_o man_n as_o it_o be_v the_o principal_a subject_n of_o the_o scripture_n so_o it_o shall_v be_v of_o this_o discourse_n and_o takeup_v the_o rest_n of_o the_o doctrine_n follow_v wherein_o i_o shall_v be_v far_o large_a than_o former_o i_o have_v be_v this_o special_a government_n of_o man_n be_v twofold_a §_o two_o 1._o that_o wherein_o god_n exercise_v his_o power_n acquire_v by_o creation_n 2._o that_o wherein_o he_o exercise_v his_o power_n acquire_v by_o redemption_n or_o more_o brief_o it_o be_v the_o government_n of_o god_n as_o creator_n redeemer_n as_o god_n by_o creation_n become_v a_o absolute_a lord_n and_o have_v a_o unlimited_a power_n so_o he_o reserve_v the_o same_o in_o part_n both_o in_o the_o government_n of_o angel_n and_o man_n for_o though_o he_o bound_v and_o limit_v they_o yet_o he_o sometime_o exercise_v a_o arbitrary_a power_n above_o his_o law_n and_o have_v bind_v himself_o only_o by_o his_o promise_n and_o therefore_o when_o man_n have_v violate_v the_o order_n and_o law_n of_o creation_n he_o be_v at_o liberty_n and_o take_v occasion_n to_o alter_v and_o new_a model_n his_o government_n and_o hence_o the_o twofold_a government_n of_o man_n which_o take_v up_o the_o great_a part_n and_o in_o some_o respect_n the_o whole_a book_n of_o god_n in_o the_o historical_a the_o doctrinal_a and_o the_o prophetical_a part_n thereof_o and_o hereafter_o i_o will_v call_v the_o one_o the_o first_o the_o other_o the_o second_o government_n or_o ordination_n of_o man_n this_o government_n be_v neither_o the_o natural_a government_n §_o iii_o which_o have_v the_o same_o rule_n of_o general_a providence_n which_o that_o of_o other_o creature_n and_o society_n according_a to_o their_o vicinity_n so_o he_o ordain_v a_o order_n of_o superiority_n and_o subjection_n among_o they_o and_o communicate_v some_o portion_n of_o his_o power_n to_o some_o in_o which_o respect_n they_o become_v god_n deputy_n and_o be_v call_v god_n and_o subject_v other_o unto_o they_o always_o reserve_v a_o power_n to_o himself_o to_o caâ—â—_n down_o one_o and_o â—et_v up_o another_o and_o sometime_o one_o or_o more_o out_o of_o the_o dust_n from_o the_o dunghill_n and_o of_o the_o base_a of_o the_o people_n for_o the_o crown_n and_o sceptre_n of_o the_o world_n be_v in_o his_o hand_n and_o he_o dispose_v they_o at_o his_o will_n and_o pleasure_n beside_o he_o have_v give_v they_o certain_a rule_n of_o wisdom_n and_o justice_n together_o with_o a_o great_a strength_n and_o power_n of_o the_o â—woâ—d_n whereby_o they_o be_v enable_v to_o model_n and_o administer_v commonweal_n of_o great_a extent_n make_v law_n and_o officer_n and_o execute_v sabbath-day_n to_o sanctify_v it_o rest_v be_v twofold_a 1._o of_o the_o body_n 2._o of_o the_o mind_n and_o in_o both_o these_o we_o must_v rest_v 1._o the_o body_n must_v rest_v from_o secular_a work_n which_o hinder_v and_o disturb_v we_o in_o the_o service_n of_o our_o god_n 2._o the_o soul_n must_v cease_v from_o such_o thought_n care_n meditation_n and_o affection_n which_o as_o much_o distract_v we_o in_o the_o worship_n of_o our_o god_n as_o labour_n of_o the_o body_n do_v again_o bodily_a work_n of_o man_n as_o man_n endue_v with_o understanding_n can_v be_v do_v without_o the_o soul_n attend_v direct_a and_o move_v it_o much_o less_o can_v heavenly_a duty_n be_v perform_v without_o the_o soul_n which_o in_o the_o time_n of_o these_o service_n must_v be_v draw_v off_o from_o the_o world_n and_o fix_v upon_o far_o more_o excellent_a object_n and_o because_o many_o game_n and_o sport_n which_o be_v account_v recreation_n do_v as_o much_o toil_n the_o body_n and_o distract_v and_o take_v up_o the_o soul_n as_o secular_a work_n do_v therefore_o we_o must_v needs_o judge_v they_o to_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o rest_n here_o command_v and_o our_o very_a word_n of_o conference_n and_o discourse_n upon_o this_o time_n may_v be_v such_o as_o be_v neither_o consistent_a with_o the_o rest_n nor_o the_o sanctification_n require_v in_o this_o precept_n yet_o this_o rest_n be_v not_o to_o be_v so_o strict_o take_v as_o though_o all_o kind_n of_o work_n and_o bodily_a labour_n be_v unlawful_a on_o this_o day_n therefore_o 1._o work_n of_o necessity_n may_v be_v this_o be_v the_o principal_a duty_n â—o_o which_o rest_n be_v subordinate_a for_o as_o there_o can_v be_v no_o sanctification_n without_o rest_n so_o there_o can_v be_v no_o rest_n acceptable_a to_o themselves_o that_o all_o religious_a service_n be_v vain_a and_o that_o the_o worship_n of_o a_o deity_n have_v no_o better_a reason_n and_o ground_n than_o the_o fancy_n and_o conceit_n of_o some_o precise_a superstitious_a fool_n they_o think_v that_o the_o rest_n and_o sanctification_n of_o every_o seven_o day_n be_v a_o needless_a expense_n and_o loss_n of_o time_n to_o the_o hindrance_n
