XXIII THe Lord is my shepherd I shall not want 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures he leadeth me beside the still waters THe Lord 's my shepherd I 'le not want 2 He makes me down to ly In pastures green and he me doth lead the still waters by 3 He restoreh my soul he leadeth me in the paths of righteousnesse for his names sake 3 My soul likewise he doth restore and me to lead doth take Into the paths of righteousnesse and that for his names sake 4 Yea though I walk thorow the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evill for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me 4 Though through the valley of deaths shade I walk I 'le fear no ill Thou art with me thy rod and staffe they do me comfort still 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies thou anointest my head with oil my cup runneth over 5 Thou set'st in presence of my foes a table me before Mine head with oil thou dost anoint my cup it runneth o're 6 Surely goodnesse and mercie shall follow me all the dayes of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever 6 Goodnesse and mercy all the dayes of my life certainly Me follow shall and in Gods house for ever dwell will I. PSAL. XXIV THe earth is the Lords and the fulnesse thereof the world and they that dwell therein 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas and established it upon the floods EArth and its fulnesse is the Lords the world and who there dwell 2 For it he founded on the seas on floods it stablishd well 3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord and who shall stand in his holy place Who is he that shall of the Lord ascend into the hill And who is he that in his place that 's holy shall stand still 4 He that hath clean hands and a pure heart who hath not lift up his soul unto vanity nor sworn deceitfully 4 He that clean hands hath and pure heart and unto vainity Who hath not lifted up his soul nor sworn deceitfully 5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord and righteousnesse from the God of his salvation 5 That man shall from the Lord receive a blessing him upon And righteousnesse al 's from the God of his salvation 6 This is the generation of them that seek him that seek thy face O Iacob Selah 6 This is the generation of them that in their place Do seek for him that humbly do O Jacob seek thy face Selah 7 Lift up your heads O ye gates and be ye lift up ye everlasting doors and the king of glory shall come in 7 Ye gates lift up your heads and ye doores everlasting all
that are us round about 14 Thou makest us a by-word among the heathen a shaking of the head among the people 14 Thou among those that heathen are a by-word us dost make They that the people are among at us the head do shake 15 My confusion is continuallie before me and the shame of my face hath covered me 15 Before me my confusion it is continually The shame also of my face it hath me cov'red utterly 16 For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth by reason of the enemie and avenger 16 Ev'n for his voice that doth reproach and doth blaspheme also By reason of the man that is th' avenger and the foe 17 All this is come upon us yeâ—… have we not forgotten thee neither have we dealt falslie in thy covenant 17 All this is on us come we yet have not forgotten thee Yea neither in thy covenant thus falsly dealt have we 18 Our heart is not turned back neitheir have our steps declined from thy way 18 Our heart in all this time once back not turned is away â—… Nor have at all those steps of ours declined from thy way 19 Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons and covered us with the shaddow of death 19 Though in the place where dragons are thou hast us broken sore And also with the shaddow hast of death us cov'red o're 20 If we have forgotten the Name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange god 21 Shall not God search this out for he knoweth the secrets of the heart 20 If we Gods Name forgot or to a strange God stretcht our hands 21 Shall God not search this out for he hearts secrets understands 22 Yea for thy sake are we killed all the day long we are counted as sheep for the slaughter 23 Awake why sleâ—…pest thou O Lord â—… arise â—…ast us not off for even 22 Yea for thee we all day are kill'd counted as sheep for slaughter 23 Awake why sleepst thou Lord arise cast us not off for ever 24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face and forgettest our affliction and our oppression 24 Wherefore thus hidest thou thy face and our affliction Why is it that thou dost forget and our oppression 25 For our soul is bowed to the dust our belly cleaveth unto the earth 26 Arise for our help and redeem us for thy mercies sake 25 For down to dust our soul is bow'd to earth our belly cleaves 26 Redeem us for thy mercies sake and for our help arise PSAL. XLV MY heart is indiâ—…ing a good matter I speak of the things which I have made touching the king my tongue is the pen of a readie vriter MY heart a matter good indites I speak of things which then I of the King made my tongue is a ready writers pen. 2 Thou art fairer then the children of men grace is powred in thy lips therefore God hath blessed thee for ever 2 Thou fairer then mens children art into thy lips in store Grace powred is for ever God hath blessed thee therefore 3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh O most mightie with thy glorie and thy majestie 3 O thou that the most mighty art thy sword gird on thy thigh Both with the glory that is thine and with thy majestie 4 And in thy majestie ride prosperouslie because of truth and meeknesse and righteousnesse and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things 4 For truth meeknesse and righteousnesse ride prosperously in state Thy right hand shall thee teach the things that are of terrour great 5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the kings enemies whereby the people sall under thee 5 Thine arrows sharp are in the heart of the kings en'mies all Whereby these that the people are down under thee do fall 6 Thy throne O God is for ever and ever the scepter of thy kingdome is a right scepter I 6 For ever and for ever is O God thy throne of might The scepter of thy kingdome is a scepter that is right 7 Thou lovest righteousnesse and hatest wickednesse therefore God thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladnesse above thy fellows 7 Thou hat'st ill and lov'st righteousnesse therefore God thy God he With oil of gladenesse did anoint above thy fellows thee 8 All thy garments smell of myrrhe and aloes and cassia out of thh ivorie palaces whereby they have made thee glad 8 Of Aloes Cassia Mirrhe to smell thy garments all are made Out of the yvory palaces whereby they made thee glade 9 Kings daughters were among thy honourable women upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir 9 Among thy women hon'rable kings daughters were at hand Upon thy right hand did the Queen in gold of Ophir stand 10 Hearken O daughter and consider and incline thine ear forget also thine own people and thy fathers house 10 O daughter hear consider thou and do thine ear incline Forget also thy fathers house and people that is thine 11 So shall the King greatlie desire thy beautie for he is thy Lord and worship thou him 11 So shall thy beauty by the King desired greatly be Therefore see that thou worship him for thine own Lord is he 12 ' And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift even the rich among the people shall intreat thy savour 12 And there of Tyre the daughter shall be with a gift that 's great Among the people ev'n the rich thy favour shall intreat 13 The Kings daughter is all glorious within her clothing is of wrought gold 13 The daughter of the king within all glorious is to see Her clothings that she doth put on of fine wrought gold they be 14 She shall be brought unto the King in raâ—… ment of needle work the virginâ—… her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee 14 In raiment she of needle work brought to the king shall be Her fellow-virgins following her shall be brought unto thee 15 With gladnesse and rejoycing shall they be brought they shall enter into the Kings palace 15 They shal be brought with gladnes great and with rejoicing all And in the palace of the king they also enter shall 16 In stead of thy fathers shall be thy children whom thou mayest make Princes in all the earth 16 In stead of those thy fathers shall thy children be to thee Whom thou may'st so in all the earth make princes for to be 17 I will make thy Name to be remembred in all generations therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever 17 In generations all I 'le make thy name remembred be Therefore for ever and for ay praise shall the people thee PSALME XLVI GOd is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble 2 Therefore will not we fear though the earth be reinoved GOD's our refuge and strength in straits a present help is he 2 Therefore we will not fear although the earth removed be And though
their enemies there was not one of them left 12 Then beleeved they his words they sang his praise 11 Their foes the waters covered of them left was not one 12 Then they believed all his words they likewise in their company a fire was kindled then The flame thereof that did break forth burnt up the wicked men 19 They made a calf in Horeb and worshipped the molten image 19 Upon the hill of Horeb al 's a golden calf they made And to the image worship gave that there they molten had 20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grasse 20 Thus he that was their glory then by them there changed was Into the likenesse of an Ox that eateth up the grasse 21 They forgat God their Saviour which had done great things in Egypt 21 They God their Saviour so forgat which by his mighty hand Had in his favour to them done great things in Egypt land 22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham and terrible things in the Red sea 22 Most wondrous works within the land of Ham performed he And things that were most terrible even hard by the red sea 23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach to turn away his wrath lest he should destroy them 23 Therefore he said he would them slay had Moses his choise one Not stood in breach to turn his wrath from their destruction 24 Yea they despised the pleasant land they beleeved not his word 25 But murmured in their tents and hearkned not unto the voice of the Lord. 24 Yea they despisde the pleasant land they not believ'd his word 25 But murmur'd in their tents and not the voice heard of the Lord. 26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them to overthrow them in the wildernesse 7 To overthrow their seed also among the nations and to scatter them in the lands 26 Therefore in desert them to slay 'gainst them he lifts his hands 27 'Mong nations to ov'rthrow their seed and scatter in the lands 28 They joyned themselves also unto Baal-Peor and ate the sacrifices of the dead 28 To Baal-Peor also they did joine themselves indeed And sacrifices ate that were then offred to the dead 29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions and the plague brake in upon them 29 Thus unto anger they him there provoked by the sin Of their own ill inventions the plague on them brake in 30 Then stood up Phinehas and executed judgement and so the plague was stayed 30 But Phinehas then there did stand up and judgement he that day Did execute and so at last the fearfull plague did stay 31 And that was counted unto him for righteousnesse unto all generations for evermore 31 And unto him for righteousnesse that counted was therefore Yea unto generations all and that for evermore 32 They angred him also at the waters of strife so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes 32 They at the waters al 's of strife then did him angry make So that it there went very ill with Moses for their sake 33 Because they provoked his spirit so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips 33 Because that they his Spirit thus provoked bitterly So that he did then with his lips speak unadvisedly 34 They did not destroy the nations concerning whom the Lord commanded them 35 But were mingled among the heathen and learned their works 34 They as the Lord commanded them the Nations did not slay 35 But 'mong the heathen mingled were and learned so their way 36 And they served their idoles which were a snare unto them 37 Yee they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils 36 And they their idols then did serve which were to them a snare 37 Yea they to devils did sacrifice their sons and daughters there 38 And shed innocent blood even the blood of their sons and of their daughters whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan 38 Bloud innocent yea ev'n their Sons and daughters bloud they shed Whom to Canaans idols they then sacrifices made And the land was polluted with blood 29 Thus were they defiled with their ow works and went a whoring with their own in ventions The land polluted was with blood 39 Their works them did defile And so they then a whooring went with their inventions vile 40 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance 40 Against his people kindled was the wrath of God therefore In so much that he did his own inheritance abhorre 41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen and they that hated them ruled over them 41 And he in wrath them gave into the hand of heathen men And they that them did greatly hate them overruled then 42 Their enemies also oppressed them and they were brought into subjection under their 〈◊〉 42 They that al 's were their enemies oppressd them in the land And they into subjection were brought underneath their hand 43 Many times did he deliver them but they provoked him with their counsell and were brought low for their iniquity 43 He many times deliv'red them but with their counsel they Did him provoke and were brought low for their iniquity 44 Neverthelesse he regarded their affliction when he heard their cry 45 And he remembred for them his covenant 44 Yet he their trouble did regard when as their cry he heard 45 And he the cov'nant that was his for them remembered And repented according to the multitude of his mercies 46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives After his mercies multitude 46 he did repent And made Them to be piti'd of all that them captives carri'd had 47 Save us O Lord our God and gather us from among the heathen to give thanks unto thy holy name and to triumph in thy praise 47 O Lord our God do thou us save from 'mong the heathen gather To thank thy holy Name and in thy praise triumph together 48 Blessed be the Lord God

PSAL. CXLV I Will extoll thee my God O king and I will blesse thy Name for ever and ever 2 Every day will I blesse thee and I will praise thy Name for ever and ever I 'Le thee extoll my God and King and blesse thy Name alwayes 2 Each day I will thee blesse and will thy Name for ever praise 3 Great is the Lord and greatly to bee praised and his greatnesse is unsearchable 3 Great is the Lord and greatly he is to be prais'd in this The greatnesse al 's that is in him unsearchable it is 4 One generation shall praise thy works to another and shall declare thy mighty acts 4 One generation shall praise thy works unto another And clearly also shall declare thy mighty acts together 5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majestie and of thy wondrous works 5 The honour of thy majesty that glorious is in thee I 'le of it speak and of thy works that very wondrous be 6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts and I will declare thy greatnesse 6 Men of the might of all thy acts that very dreadfull are Shall utter speaches and I will thy greatnesse so declare 7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodnesse and shall sing of thy righteousnesse 7 They utter shall abundantly the memorie to all Of thy great goodnesse yea and sing thy righteousnesse they shall 8 The Lord is gracious and full of compassion slow to anger and of great mercy 8 Full of compassion gracious the Lord is unto his He is al 's unto anger slow of mercy great he is 9 The Lord is good to all and his tender mercies are over all his works 6 The Lord our God he unto all his goodnesse doth declare And over all the workes he doth his tender mercies are 10 All thy works shall praise thee O Lord and thy saints shall blesse thee 11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdome and talk of thy power 10 Thee all thy workes shall praise O Lord thy Saints shall blesse thee all 11 Thy kingdomes glory tell shall they talk
of thy power they shall 12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts and the glorious majestie of his kingdome 12 To make known to the sonnes of men his acts that mighty be And of the kingdome that is his the glorious majestie 13 Thy kingdome is an everlasting kingdome and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations 13 Thy kingdome it a kingdome is that 's everlasting sure And thy dominion throughout all ages doth endure 14 The Lord upholdeth all that fall and raiseth up all those that be bowed down 14 He that is the Almighty Lord upholdeth all that fall And those that low be bowed down up high he raiseth all 15 The eyes of all wait upon thee and thou givest them their meat in due season 15 The eyes of all things evry where they do upon thee waite And in the season that is due thou givest them their meat 16 Thou openest thine hand and satisfiest the desire of every living thing 16 Thy hand thou dost it open make and also liberally Thou the desire of evry thing that lives dost satisfy 17 The Lord is righteous in all his wayes and holy in all his works 18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him to all that call upon him in truth 17 The Lord in all his wayes is just in his workes holy all 18 God near is all that call on him in trueth that on him call 19 He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him he also will hear their cry and will save them 19 And the desire fulfill he will of them that do him fear He will them save he will also unto their cry give eare 20 The Lord preserveth all them that love him but all the wicked will he destroy 20 The Lord to all that do him love will a preserver be But as for those that wicked are them all destroy will he 21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord and let all flesh blesse his holy Name for ever and ever 21 The praise of him that is the Lord my mouth it shall proclame And let all flesh for ever and ever so blesse his holy Name PSAL. CXLVI PRaise ye the Lord praise the Lord O my soul. 2 While I live will I praise the Lord I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being PRaise God the Lord praise O my soul 2 I 'le praise God while I live While I have being to my God in songs I 'le praises give 3 Put not your trust in Princes nor in the son of man in whom there is no help 3 See that ye do not put your trust in Princes nor for this In him that is the son of man in whom no help there is 4 His breath goeth forth he returneth to his earth in that very day his thoughts perish 4 His breath goes forth and after he returneth to his clay The thoughts of his do perish all in that same very day 5 Happy is he that hath the God of Iacob for his help whose hope is in the Lord his God 5 He happy is that hath the God of Jacob to afford Unto him help whose stedfast hope is in his God the Lord. 6 Which made heaven and earth the sea and all that therein is which keepeth truth for ever 6 Which made the Heaven and the earth the sea and whatsoever Within the same hath its abode which keepeth trueth for ever 7 Which executeth judgement for the oppressed which giveth food to the hungry the Lord â—…oseth the prisoners 7 Which judgement executs for such as that oppressed be Who gives unto the hungry food God sets the prisoners free 8 The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down the Lord loveth the righteous 8 Eyes of the blind God openeth the Lord he raiseth thus Them that are greatly bowed down God loves the righteous 9 The Lord preserveth the strangers he relieveth the fatherlesse and widow but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down 9 God strangers keeps he widows helps and fatherlesse that be But of the wicked men the way upside down turneth he 10 The Lord shall reign for ever even thy God O Zion unto all generations Praise ye the Lord. 10 The Lord he shall for ever reign O Zion even he Thy God to generations all praise to the Lord give ye PSAL.
