be_v remidy_v by_o what_o mean_n shall_v we_o get_v through_o this_o wall_n of_o fire_n true_o he_o who_o will_v mean_v to_o pass_v through_o fire_n have_v need_n to_o be_v well_o arm_v the_o man_n who_o preass_v to_o approach_v near_o to_o that_o invialable_a majesty_n who_o can_v abide_v no_o sort_n of_o uncleanness_n and_o will_v draw_v near_o to_o the_o throne_n of_o his_o grace_n must_v be_v well_o arm_v against_o the_o justice_n and_o wrath_n of_o god_n which_o debar_v sinner_n sure_o there_o be_v none_o armour_n in_o the_o world_n that_o can_v preserve_v we_o from_o that_o rage_a and_o consume_a fire_n of_o the_o justice_n and_o wrath_n of_o god_n but_o only_o the_o righteousness_n and_o satisfaction_n of_o jesus_n christ_n let_v a_o man_n use_v all_o the_o mean_n in_o the_o world_n and_o he_o be_v not_o find_v in_o christ_n he_o shall_v have_v none_o access_n to_o come_v through_o the_o justice_n and_o wrath_n of_o god_n to_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n yea_o his_o before_o he_o be_v call_v to_o grace_v by_o jesus_n christ_n the_o next_o be_v his_o merciful_a delivery_n from_o that_o miserable_a estate_n and_o condition_n the_o last_o be_v the_o end_n of_o his_o merciful_a delivery_n to_o wit_n that_o he_o shall_v serve_v god_n all_o the_o day_n of_o his_o life_n in_o all_o manner_n of_o thankfulness_n for_o so_o merciful_a a_o delivery_n and_o see_v our_o communicate_v with_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o the_o lord_n approaches_z our_o preparation_n can_v stand_v in_o three_o better_a thing_n than_o these_o first_o in_o a_o knowledge_n of_o our_o misery_n before_o that_o we_o know_v god_n in_o christ_n next_o in_o a_o knowledge_n of_o our_o merciful_a delivery_n from_o that_o miserable_a estate_n and_o thirdlie_o in_o a_o duty_n towards_o god_n for_o our_o delivery_n we_o shall_v speak_v at_o this_o time_n of_o the_o first_o two_o now_o to_o return_v and_o to_o go_v through_o the_o word_n as_o the_o lord_n will_v give_v we_o grace_n the_o occasion_n of_o the_o set_n down_o of_o this_o first_o part_n to_o wit_n of_o our_o misery_n before_o we_o know_v christ_n be_v this_o immediate_o before_o he_o have_v exhort_v titus_n to_o use_v all_o kind_n of_o lenity_n towards_o they_o that_o be_v not_o convert_v not_o to_o deal_v with_o they_o in_o rigour_n but_o to_o deal_v with_o they_o in_o meekness_n he_o give_v the_o reason_n corruption_n in_o he_o albeit_o he_o see_v it_o not_o they_o that_o have_v the_o true_a zeal_n of_o god_n they_o will_v indeed_o be_v severe_a against_o sinner_n why_o not_o but_o they_o begin_v always_o at_o themselves_o and_o then_o reprove_v other_o hypocrite_n begin_v not_o at_o themselves_o but_o they_o hide_v and_o cloak_n their_o own_o sin_n and_o be_v always_o severe_a against_o salvation_n for_o thou_o thereafter_o come_v on_o another_o part_n of_o salvation_n we_o be_v make_v heir_n of_o everlasting_a life_n but_o there_o be_v something_o go_v betwixt_o that_o be_v not_o set_v down_o here_o for_o you_o see_v that_o when_o we_o be_v justify_v and_o regenerate_v we_o be_v make_v son_n by_o adoption_n before_o we_o be_v heir_n we_o must_v be_v child_n but_o i_o leave_v this_o because_o the_o apostle_n speak_v not_o of_o it_o here_o then_o the_o last_o part_n be_v we_o be_v make_v heir_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n what_o more_o can_v be_v require_v in_o salvation_n there_o be_v the_o high_a degree_n thou_o be_v place_v in_o thy_o inheritance_n there_o be_v thy_o perfection_n according_a to_o the_o hope_n of_o eternal_a lift_v lest_o we_o shall_v think_v that_o we_o be_v already_o put_v in_o possession_n of_o this_o inheritance_n he_o meet_v this_o and_o show_v that_o albeit_o we_o be_v in_o this_o life_n make_v heir_n yet_o we_o be_v not_o it_o with_o such_o a_o necessity_n that_o except_o he_o and_o whole_a mankind_n be_v regenerate_v there_o be_v none_o of_o they_o that_o shall_v see_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n and_o this_o he_o do_v with_o a_o great_a asseveration_n say_v very_o very_o nicodemus_n hear_v and_o fear_v that_o heavy_a denunciation_n of_o banishment_n from_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n but_o not_o understand_v this_o regeneration_n begin_v to_o reason_n that_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n unpossible_a that_o he_o can_v be_v bear_v again_o because_o he_o be_v a_o old_a man_n and_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o a_o old_a man_n can_v enter_v into_o his_o mother_n womb_n again_o christ_n answer_v and_o answer_v insist_v in_o that_o proposition_n of_o regeneration_n urge_v he_o again_o with_o a_o necessity_n of_o the_o same_o regeneration_n only_o he_o add_v to_o that_o that_o he_o speak_v before_o the_o manner_n and_o way_n of_o this_o beget_n to_o wit_n of_o water_n and_o the_o spirit_n it_o be_v not_o a_o fleshlie_o generation_n but_o a_o spiritual_a generation_n whereby_o a_o man_n be_v beget_v again_o by_o y_z e_z renew_v of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n in_o he_o of_o the_o which_o water_n be_v the_o seal_n to_o seal_v up_o our_o faith_n in_o that_o assurance_n of_o that_o regeneration_n or_o new_a birth_n now_o in_o this_o text_n which_o i_o have_v read_v christ_n insist_v in_o the_o same_o doctrine_n and_o like_o as_o in_o the_o verse_n precede_v he_o have_v propon_v the_o manner_n of_o this_o new_a birth_n not_o to_o be_v natural_a but_o spiritual_a so_o in_o this_o verse_n he_o show_v nicodemus_n what_o a_o kind_n of_o birth_n it_o be_v that_o say_v he_o that_o be_v beget_v of_o the_o spirit_n be_v spirit_n that_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n work_v beget_v not_o a_o fleshly_a or_o corrupt_a creature_n but_o a_o spiritual_a and_o heavenly_a creature_n this_o he_o set_v not_o down_o simple_o but_o he_o set_v it_o down_o by_o way_n of_o comparison_n with_o the_o fleshlie_o generation_n to_o the_o end_n that_o nicodemus_n and_o all_o man_n see_v the_o corruption_n of_o the_o flesh_n they_o shall_v esteem_v the_o more_o high_o of_o that_o spiritual_a generation_n and_o he_o say_v that_o the_o thing_n beget_v of_o the_o flesh_n be_v flesh_n that_o be_v as_o the_o flesh_n a_o corrupt_a mass_n of_o flesh_n and_o blood_n can_v beget_v but_o corrupt_a flesh_n even_o so_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n can_v begâ—tte_v but_o that_o that_o be_v spiritual_a and_o heavenly_a and_o thus_o yeesâ—e_v the_o meaning_n of_o this_o place_n but_o because_o this_o place_n offer_v occasion_n to_o speak_v somewhat_o of_o regeneration_n whereof_o the_o world_n have_v never_o great_a need_n than_o at_o this_o present_a for_o i_o think_v the_o world_n be_v go_v back_o again_o to_o that_o old_a corruption_n from_o the_o which_o they_o be_v deliver_v therefore_o to_o the_o end_n that_o all_o thing_n may_v be_v the_o more_o clear_a i_o shall_v speak_v to_o you_o first_o of_o the_o flesh_n and_o generation_n thereof_o next_o of_o the_o spirit_n &_o regeneration_n and_o the_o lord_n make_v we_o careful_a to_o find_v the_o spirit_n to_o be_v as_o from_o the_o fountain_n i_o may_v not_o insist_v upon_o these_o thing_n particular_o but_o i_o shall_v give_v you_o a_o short_a view_n of_o they_o original_a sin_n stand_v in_o two_o part_n the_o first_o be_v that_o horrible_a defection_n and_o apostasy_n which_o whole_a mankind_n in_o the_o world_n from_o adam_n to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n have_v make_v in_o the_o loin_n of_o adam_n earth_n with_o all_o their_o weapon_n and_o engine_n of_o war_n can_v be_v able_a to_o do_v it_o no_o all_o the_o angel_n in_o heaven_n be_v not_o able_a to_o accomplish_v this_o work_n the_o weapon_n by_o degree_n piece_n and_o piece_n even_o till_o at_o last_o death_n be_v swallow_v up_o of_o life_n and_o mortality_n of_o immortality_n and_o if_o thou_o will_v have_v this_o work_n to_o go_v forward_o in_o thou_o then_o set_v evermore_o jesus_n thy_o lord_n and_o thy_o head_n before_o the_o eye_n of_o thy_o soul_n look_v upon_o he_o with_o the_o eye_n of_o faith_n for_o it_o be_v only_o his_o presence_n &_o the_o sight_n of_o his_o glory_n that_o work_v this_o marvelous_a change_n for_o there_o be_v a_o great_a odds_n between_o the_o sight_n of_o his_o glory_n and_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o worldly_a prince_n for_o the_o sight_n of_o their_o glory_n will_v not_o change_v thou_o nor_o make_v thou_o glorious_a but_o vanish_v away_o in_o a_o moment_n but_o the_o better_a to_o be_v mark_v he_o say_v i_o have_v wait_v on_o the_o lord_n then_o he_o say_v my_o soul_n have_v wait_v on_o the_o lord_n as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v i_o have_v not_o await_v on_o the_o lord_n only_o with_o my_o bodily_a eye_n but_o with_o my_o heart_n and_o secret_a inward_a affection_n i_o have_v depend_v on_o he_o from_o my_o very_a heart_n for_o brethren_n mark_v it_o well_o it_o paul_n be_v not_o ashamed_a to_o paint_v out_o himself_o in_o his_o own_o colour_n and_o particular_o to_o confess_v his_o former_a evil_a deed_n and_o to_o registrate_n they_o to_o his_o own_o shame_n to_o the_o world_n end_n yea_o you_o shall_v see_v in_o sundry_a place_n where_o he_o speak_v of_o himself_o that_o he_o can_v never_o satisfy_v himself_o in_o aggregate_a his_o own_o mercy_n of_o god_n thy_o heart_n will_v be_v loose_v and_o thy_o mouth_n also_o to_o glorify_v god_n by_o a_o humble_a confession_n moreover_o you_o may_v perceive_v out_o of_o these_o word_n how_o and_o what_o way_n the_o apostle_n find_v the_o strength_n and_o power_n of_o the_o gospel_n he_o find_v a_o power_n in_o it_o but_o not_o at_o the_o first_o instant_n but_o ere_o ever_o he_o feel_v nothing_o they_o may_v be_v compel_v to_o renounce_v themselves_o and_o to_o seek_v to_o be_v find_v in_o jesus_n yea_o after_o the_o lord_n have_v draw_v they_o to_o he_o by_o cross_n the_o lord_n use_v all_o the_o day_n of_o their_o life-time_n to_o expone_fw-la they_o to_o cross_n that_o every_o day_n find_v more_o their_o want_n infirmity_n and_o lack_v of_o comfort_n in_o themselves_o they_o may_v the_o more_o daily_a seek_v and_o strive_v to_o be_v find_v in_o jesus_n who_o can_v supply_v all_o their_o want_n and_o furnish_v every_o thing_n that_o they_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o cross_n in_o a_o wonderful_a manner_n look_v 2._o cor._n 11._o the_o lord_n lay_v manifold_a cross_n upon_o paul_n and_o when_o with_o tear_n he_o pray_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v take_v they_o etc._n when_o the_o body_n by_o cross_n be_v die_v than_o he_o find_v the_o life_n of_o christ_n and_o no_o soul_n shall_v find_v that_o life_n without_o it_o be_v die_v therefore_o if_o ever_o thou_o
