certain_o to_o make_v so_o much_o as_o one_o of_o these_o a_o christian_a to_o bring_v he_o out_o of_o this_o infernal_a pit_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d and_o place_v he_o in_o the_o church_n to_o make_v he_o of_o probability_n so_o as_o to_o dazzle_v the_o eye_n of_o the_o ignorant_a and_o win_v the_o admiration_n of_o the_o half-witted_a this_o vanity_n render_v they_o odious_a first_o among_o the_o pagan_n themselves_o where_o they_o go_v among_o the_o people_n for_o extravagant_a person_n and_o be_v in_o little_a better_a esteem_n among_o the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o better_a sort_n and_o for_o as_o such_o or_o such_o a_o subject_a whether_o it_o be_v internal_o or_o external_o whence_o it_o follow_v that_o to_o put_v off_o on_o the_o contrary_a be_v simple_o to_o quit_v a_o thing_n which_o one_o have_v and_o rid_v himself_o of_o it_o thus_o to_o put_v off_o the_o old_a man_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o rid_v ourselves_o of_o his_o vice_n and_o of_o his_o corruptness_n to_o pluck_v up_o for_o instance_n out_o of_o our_o heart_n his_o covetousness_n and_o his_o ambition_n and_o the_o habitude_n of_o his_o other_o sin_n but_o the_o apostle_n express_o add_v that_o we_o put_v he_o off_o gross_a and_o senseless_a error_n of_o some_o that_o as_o well_o the_o old_a man_n as_o the_o new_a do_v both_o of_o they_o signify_v the_o form_n and_o disposition_n not_o the_o substance_n and_o very_a essence_n of_o our_o nature_n for_o when_o a_o thing_n be_v utter_o destroy_v we_o do_v not_o say_v it_o put_v off_o what_o it_o have_v but_o that_o it_o be_v perish_v and_o when_o the_o substance_n of_o a_o thing_n be_v produce_v altogether_o of_o new_a we_o say_v not_o that_o it_o be_v clothe_v but_o create_v so_o as_o the_o apostle_n here_o command_v we_o to_o
