foot_n and_o side_n therein_o pretend_v to_o be_v like_o he_o yea_o to_o be_v whole_o transform_v into_o his_o image_n but_o that_o which_o be_v produce_v by_o a_o image_n be_v but_o a_o image_n a_o imaginary_a christ_n will_v effect_v nothing_o in_o the_o mind_n of_o man_n but_o imaginary_a grace_n thus_o religion_n be_v lose_v and_o die_v when_o man_n can_v not_o obtain_v any_o experience_n in_o their_o mind_n of_o the_o spiritual_a mystery_n of_o the_o gospel_n nor_o be_v sensible_a of_o any_o spiritual_a change_n or_o advantage_n by_o they_o they_o substitute_v some_o outward_a duty_n and_o observance_n in_o their_o stead_n as_o i_o shall_v show_v god_n will_v elsewhere_o more_o at_o large_a these_o produce_v some_o kind_n of_o effect_n on_o their_o mind_n and_o affection_n but_o quite_o of_o another_o nature_n than_o those_o which_o be_v the_o real_a effect_n of_o true_a evangelical_n grace_n this_o be_v open_o evident_a in_o this_o substitution_n of_o image_n instead_o of_o the_o representation_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o glory_n make_v in_o the_o gospel_n however_o there_o be_v a_o general_a supposition_n grant_v on_o all_o hand_n namely_o that_o there_o must_v be_v a_o view_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o glory_n to_o cause_v we_o to_o love_v he_o and_o thereby_o to_o make_v we_o conformable_a or_o like_a unto_o he_o but_o here_o lie_v the_o difference_n those_o of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n say_v that_o this_o must_v be_v do_v by_o the_o behold_n of_o crucifix_n with_o other_o image_n and_o picture_n of_o he_o and_o that_o with_o our_o bodily_a eye_n we_o say_v the_o other_o side_n for_o any_o thing_n be_v better_a than_o nothing_o but_o as_o we_o have_v a_o sure_a word_n of_o prophecy_n to_o secure_v we_o from_o these_o abomination_n by_o a_o express_a prohibition_n of_o such_o image_n unto_o all_o end_n whatever_o so_o unto_o our_o stability_n in_o the_o profession_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o experience_n of_o the_o efficacy_n of_o this_o our_o edification_n and_o as_o we_o have_v no_o such_o external_a proposal_n of_o his_o glory_n unto_o we_o in_o vision_n so_o neither_o have_v we_o any_o new_a revelation_n of_o he_o by_o immediate_a inspiration_n we_o can_v see_v nothing_o of_o it_o know_v nothing_o of_o it_o but_o what_o be_v propose_v unto_o we_o in_o the_o scripture_n and_o that_o as_o it_o be_v propose_v nor_o do_v the_o scripture_n itself_o in_o any_o one_o place_n make_v a_o entire_a proposal_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o christ_n with_o all_o that_o belong_v unto_o it_o nor_o be_v it_o capable_a of_o so_o do_v nor_o can_v there_o be_v any_o such_o representation_n of_o it_o unto_o our_o capacity_n on_o this_o side_n heaven_n if_o all_o the_o light_n of_o the_o heavenly_a luminary_n have_v be_v contract_v into_o
