these_o be_v nothing_o when_o ignorant_a of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n through_o christ_n in_o the_o spirit_n knowledge_n in_o all_o the_o former_a substract_v from_o the_o latter_a be_v but_o to_o know_v that_o we_o be_v under_o the_o chain_n and_o the_o power_n of_o darkness_n our_o life_n consist_v neither_o in_o circumcision_n or_o uncircumcision_n but_o in_o the_o new_a creature_n christ_n live_v in_o we_o and_o we_o in_o christ_n the_o life_n that_o we_o now_o live_v it_o be_v by_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n by_o faith_n feast_v and_o satisfy_v our_o soul_n upon_o the_o love_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n the_o spirit_n that_o teach_v and_o lead_v the_o soul_n into_o all_o truth_n even_o the_o god_n of_o truth_n and_o there_o the_o spirit_n teach_v the_o soul_n to_o read_v god_n to_o be_v a_o god_n of_o love_n and_o so_o to_o enjoy_v he_o and_o live_v in_o he_o through_o christ_n as_o a_o god_n of_o grace_n and_o a_o faithful_a god_n that_o will_v keep_v covenant_n with_o his_o people_n and_o not_o impute_v sin_n to_o that_o soul_n for_o who_o christ_n have_v dye_v our_o life_n shall_v be_v for_o ever_o with_o god_n and_o in_o god_n enjoy_v nothing_o but_o god_n and_o all_o of_o god_n in_o heaven_n this_o be_v true_o our_o life_n now_o as_o we_o be_v one_o with_o christ_n only_o the_o cloud_n of_o mortality_n darken_v it_o and_o so_o far_o as_o we_o live_v upon_o god_n through_o christ_n in_o the_o spirit_n so_o far_o and_o no_o far_o do_v we_o true_o enjoy_v life_n in_o any_o condition_n and_o what_o we_o strive_v for_o here_o below_o be_v not_o our_o life_n nor_o true_o worth_a our_o contend_v for_o all_o the_o weary_a pursuit_n of_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n which_o centre_n not_o in_o christ_n must_v wither_v before_o they_o come_v to_o their_o journey_n end_v for_o they_o have_v no_o life_n to_o carry_v they_o through_o a_o child_n of_o god_n can_v find_v no_o rest_n but_o the_o bosom_n of_o his_o father_n and_o no_o way_n to_o that_o rest_n but_o christ_n the_o great_a gift_n of_o his_o father_n love_n so_o that_o god_n and_o christ_n be_v both_o the_o way_n and_o the_o end_n of_o a_o saint_n rest_n that_o be_v enjoy_v fullness_n of_o bliss_n in_o god_n who_o be_v all_o in_o all_o to_o all_o his_o people_n gospel_n truth_n shall_v be_v teach_v to_o gospel-saint_n and_o these_o truth_n accompany_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n may_v first_o teach_v and_o inform_v all_o saint_n where_o our_o life_n and_o interest_n lie_v namely_o in_o god_n and_o christ_n god_n open_v the_o bosom_n of_o his_o love_n and_o give_v we_o jesus_n christ_n jesus_n christ_n give_v out_o his_o blood_n his_o life_n and_o all_o that_o god_n require_v to_o satisfy_v justice_n and_o to_o make_v a_o complete_a redemption_n christ_n put_v on_o our_o flesh_n and_o take_v upon_o he_o the_o curse_n due_a to_o we_o and_o all_o to_o this_o end_n to_o be_v mediator_n to_o stand_v between_o a_o displease_a god_n and_o a_o poor_a soul_n to_o become_v sin_n for_o we_o that_o we_o may_v become_v righteousness_n in_o he_o our_o life_n lie_v neither_o in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n nor_o the_o form_n of_o christ_n which_o be_v the_o light_n of_o life_n be_v not_o in_o it_o it_o be_v god_n in_o christ_n that_o be_v our_o life_n let_v we_o not_o turn_v again_o to_o the_o beggarly_a rudiment_n under_o which_o we_o shall_v be_v in_o bondage_n but_o in_o the_o lord_n of_o glory_n to_o live_v only_o upon_o god_n in_o christ_n who_o be_v the_o true_a light_n and_o life_n of_o saint_n to_o seek_v life_n in_o any_o thing_n else_o be_v to_o seek_v the_o live_n among_o the_o dead_a again_o these_o gospel-truth_n shall_v teach_v and_o exhort_v gospel-saint_n to_o believe_v in_o god_n he_o be_v a_o god_n undertake_v to_o satisfy_v full_o now_o a_o doubt_n of_o either_o be_v unworthy_a in_o he_o that_o be_v a_o heir_n of_o both_o in_o the_o next_o place_n methinks_v this_o call_v for_o much_o love_n from_o saint_n to_o god_n and_o christ_n oh_o how_o shall_v we_o love_v god_n that_o have_v free_o give_v we_o christ_n and_o with_o he_o all_o thing_n the_o great_a god_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n have_v no_o great_a gift_n than_o christ_n to_o give_v and_o he_o he_o have_v free_o give_v we_o and_o in_o christ_n himself_o his_o spirit_n his_o kingdom_n and_o his_o glory_n too_o who_o will_v not_o love_v a_o heart_n so_o full_a of_o love_n as_o god_n heart_n be_v how_o can_v we_o choose_v but_o love_v a_o hand_n so_o full_a of_o love_n as_o god_n hand_n be_v what_o ever_o may_v just_o be_v take_v to_o soul_n affection_n that_o be_v in_o its_o primitive_a glory_n as_o it_o be_v in_o god_n and_o true_o do_v we_o see_v god_n by_o a_o eye_n of_o faith_n as_o we_o do_v thing_n below_o with_o a_o eye_n of_o sense_n the_o brightness_n of_o his_o glory_n will_v darken_v all_o low_a glory_n and_o all_o the_o stream_n of_o our_o affection_n will_v run_v into_o god_n who_o be_v the_o fountain_n and_o original_n of_o all_o love_n and_o loveliness_n
can_v fin_n but_o it_o must_v be_v without_o excuse_n a_o carnal_a man_n may_v sin_v i_o can_v do_v no_o better_o in_o my_o own_o strength_n ay_o but_o a_o saint_n can_v plead_v so_o he_o have_v christ_n for_o his_o strength_n why_o then_o in_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n let_v saint_n consider_v what_o a_o course_n of_o sin_n will_v be_v in_o they_o it_o be_v little_o less_o than_o proclaim_v christ_n a_o sinner_n for_o a_o saint_n be_v look_v upon_o to_o live_v &_o act_v in_o christ_n and_o that_o christ_n do_v all_o in_o he_o oh_o then_o if_o the_o glory_n and_o honour_n of_o god_n and_o christ_n be_v dear_a to_o we_o how_o can_v we_o that_o be_v deliver_v from_o sin_n live_v any_o long_o to_o it_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o we_o can_v love_v christ_n and_o sin_n too_o &_o therefore_o where_o christ_n live_v by_o his_o love_n he_o constrain_v the_o death_n of_o sin_n the_o exhortation_n be_v to_o saint_n to_o live_v in_o the_o spirit_n and_o that_o be_v trample_v upon_o chap._n four_o god_n love_n give_v saint_n to_o know_v they_o shall_v appear_v like_o christ_n 1_o john_n 3.1.2_o behold_v what_o manner_n of_o love_n the_o father_n have_v bestow_v upon_o we_o that_o ever_o be_v with_o the_o lord_n not_o only_o appear_v with_o he_o in_o glory_n but_o also_o abide_v for_o ever_o with_o he_o and_o so_o be_v fill_v with_o the_o fullness_n of_o his_o glory_n these_o scripture_n instead_o of_o many_o more_o which_o may_v be_v produce_v will_v full_o serve_v to_o make_v proof_n of_o the_o first_o general_a head_n the_o second_o general_a head_n prove_v itself_o it_o have_v in_o it_o a_o double_a proof_n that_o our_o fullness_n be_v the_o fullness_n of_o christ_n for_o first_o say_v the_o text_n we_o shall_v be_v like_o he_o now_o nothing_o but_o ouâ—uâ—ion_n the_o second_o proof_n in_o the_o text_n be_v we_o shall_v see_v he_o as_o he_o be_v now_o christ_n be_v so_o beight_a a_o glory_n that_o he_o can_v be_v see_v in_o no_o light_n but_o his_o own_o he_o nothing_o but_o himself_o i_o shall_v now_o make_v some_o observation_n of_o this_o scripture_n and_o these_o general_a head_n and_o the_o first_o observation_n shall_v be_v this_o namely_o that_o a_o place_n of_o tribulation_n it_o must_v not_o seem_v hard_a or_o strange_a to_o those_o that_o shall_v reign_v with_o christ_n to_o suffer_v with_o he_o all_o our_o suffering_n be_v in_o and_o from_o the_o world_n but_o the_o fullness_n of_o our_o reign_n be_v with_o christ_n in_o heaven_n thus_o be_v we_o make_v conformable_a to_o the_o image_n of_o christ_n in_o this_o world_n we_o enjoy_v least_o of_o christ_n and_o therefore_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o saint_n worst_a condition_n that_o be_v the_o dark_a day_n to_o a_o saint_n in_o which_o the_o least_o of_o christ_n presence_n and_o glory_n appear_v therefore_o be_v the_o world_n a_o saint_n worst_a state_n because_o it_o be_v not_o able_a to_o bear_v the_o fullness_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o christ_n which_o shall_v be_v reveal_v in_o heaven_n there_o will_v be_v no_o need_n to_o inquire_v for_o he_o who_o our_o soul_n love_v for_o we_o shall_v always_o be_v in_o his_o presence_n when_o mortality_n have_v put_v on_o immortality_n then_o come_v in_o the_o crown_n of_o glory_n we_o may_v have_v glimpse_n of_o glory_n in_o this_o life_n but_o the_o more_o exceed_o and_o eternal_a weight_n of_o glory_n be_v in_o the_o object_n and_o there_o will_v be_v defect_n no_o more_o on_o our_o part_n to_o diminish_v the_o glory_n so_o that_o you_o see_v if_o we_o set_v aside_o all_o the_o sour_a of_o the_o world_n and_o take_v a_o saint_n sweet_a morsel_n he_o have_v below_o yet_o it_o be_v short_a of_o the_o glory_n shall_v be_v reveal_v wherefore_o the_o observation_n stand_v very_o clear_a that_o a_o saint_n worst_a condition_n be_v in_o this_o world_n the_o 2_o observation_n be_v this_o namely_o that_o a_o saint_n have_v relief_n from_o the_o worst_a of_o the_o world_n by_o faith_n wait_v for_o the_o appearance_n of_o christ_n as_o in_o the_o text._n a_o saint_n by_o faith_n look_v upon_o his_o union_n with_o christ_n as_o a_o son_n and_o so_o satisfy_v itself_o with_o the_o appearance_n of_o god_n so_o the_o apostle_n paul_n in_o rom._n 8._o the_o latter_a end_n he_o eye_n there_o his_o union_n with_o christ_n and_o so_o be_v carry_v above_o tribulation_n or_o distress_n or_o the_o worst_a of_o the_o world_n he_o conclude_v there_o be_v nothing_o can_v separate_v he_o from_o christ_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v at_o rest_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v notwithstanding_o all_o our_o bosom_n he_o satisfy_v with_o that_o fountain_n of_o love_n which_o be_v in_o his_o own_o bosom_n that_o soul_n which_o have_v interest_n in_o christ_n and_o wait_v for_o his_o appearance_n the_o perish_a world_n be_v too_o low_a a_o thing_n for_o he_o to_o rejoice_v in_o but_o he_o may_v always_o rejoice_v in_o the_o lord_n for_o there_o be_v a_o suitable_a portion_n and_o true_o there_o be_v no_o just_a cause_n for_o a_o saint_n to_o fear_v the_o world_n when_o christ_n have_v undertake_v for_o he_o at_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n the_o world_n must_v hate_v we_o because_o it_o hate_v he_o who_o image_n we_o bear_v but_o here_o be_v relief_n enough_o christ_n that_o be_v our_o interest_n in_o heaven_n he_o have_v overcome_v the_o world_n for_o we_o we_o may_v be_v encourage_v to_o go_v to_o the_o father_n in_o christ_n name_n to_o be_v keep_v from_o the_o evil_a of_o the_o world_n but_o there_o be_v no_o cause_n why_o we_o shall_v fear_v that_o the_o world_n shall_v overcome_v we_o for_o christ_n be_v able_a and_o faithful_a to_o preserve_v all_o those_o the_o father_n have_v commit_v to_o his_o charge_n be_v the_o world_n as_o little_a in_o our_o affection_n as_o it_o be_v in_o our_o interest_n we_o shall_v enjoy_v it_o more_o
and_o fear_v it_o less_o it_o be_v our_o carnality_n that_o make_v it_o a_o king_n and_o set_v it_o on_o the_o throne_n and_o then_o we_o fall_v down_o and_o worship_v it_o but_o god_n have_v make_v the_o world_n our_o footstool_n as_o it_o be_v christ_n for_o he_o be_v our_o interest_n and_o what_o be_v his_o glory_n as_o our_o head_n be_v our_o glory_n as_o his_o member_n when_o the_o world_n concern_v saint_n be_v mention_v by_o god_n it_o be_v as_o a_o additional_a thing_n but_o christ_n and_o his_o righteousness_n be_v a_o saint_n interest_n the_o holy_a ghost_n give_v the_o world_n this_o title_n the_o meat_n that_o perish_v but_o christ_n be_v that_o portion_n which_o endure_v for_o ever_o call_v not_o that_o enough_o which_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o a_o moment_n a_o frown_n and_o the_o god_n of_o grace_n we_o shall_v from_o that_o to_o all_o eternity_n never_o behold_v nor_o enjoy_v less_o glory_n than_o god_n himself_o god_n fill_v we_o and_o all_o that_o glorious_a in_o this_o chapter_n as_o it_o be_v centre_v in_o this_o 48._o vers_fw-la i_o be_o that_o bread_n of_o life_n in_o verse_n 33._o he_o call_v himself_o the_o bread_n of_o god_n and_o the_o life_n of_o the_o world_n and_o in_o vers_n 38._o he_o show_v how_o he_o come_v to_o be_v the_o life_n of_o the_o world_n even_o by_o the_o will_n of_o god_n send_v by_o god_n and_o his_o business_n the_o work_n light_n this_o appear_v by_o our_o saviour_n own_o word_n in_o vers_fw-la 63._o of_o this_o chapter_n it_o be_v the_o spirit_n that_o quicken_v the_o flesh_n profit_v nothing_o the_o word_n that_o i_o up_o those_o flame_n that_o shall_v burn_v he_o that_o blow_v it_o to_o ash_n this_o be_v the_o evil_n of_o that_o work_n to_o serve_v the_o interest_n of_o the_o world_n against_o the_o interest_n of_o god_n they_o dig_v their_o own_o grave_n they_o wound_v their-owne_a soul_n and_o heighten_v the_o fury_n of_o those_o flame_n which_o will_v make_v they_o cry_v out_o for_o a_o drop_n of_o water_n to_o cool_v their_o lung_n this_o work_n in_o the_o end_n will_v not_o only_o make_v the_o heart_n ache_v but_o the_o conscience_n roar_v this_o work_n indeed_o will_v prove_v vanity_n and_o vexation_n of_o spirit_n to_o wind_v up_o this_o subject_n it_o be_v god_n and_o christ_n only_o that_o be_v worthy_a to_o be_v trust_v serve_v love_a and_o delight_v in_o there_o be_v vanity_n in_o all_o below_o god_n but_o no_o vanity_n at_o all_o in_o god_n we_o may_v trust_v he_o for_o he_o be_v faithful_a all_o that_o ever_o have_v trust_v he_o have_v find_v he_o so_o witness_v the_o and_o redeem_v love_n justify_v sanctify_a and_o glorify_v love_n these_o be_v object_n of_o delight_n indeed_o here_o we_o may_v feed_v abundant_o and_o be_v satisfy_v but_o can_v never_o be_v cloy_v o_o be_v wise_a then_o stand_z aside_o perish_v world_n away_o with_o all_o those_o vanity_n under_o the_o sun_n there_o be_v a_o brightness_n outshine_v it_o and_o a_o glory_n that_o swallow_v it_o your_o real_a and_o proper_a glory_n can_v never_o be_v take_v from_o you_o because_o it_o be_v god_n himself_o the_o world_n may_v hate_v and_o persecute_v saint_n because_o of_o this_o but_o they_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o strip_v we_o of_o our_o glory_n it_o may_v be_v they_o think_v to_o do_v it_o when_o they_o shall_v scatter_v church_n and_o saint_n from_o one_o another_o but_o this_o be_v their_o darkness_n they_o know_v not_o saint_n proper_a glory_n god_n himself_o be_v their_o glory_n he_o be_v the_o glory_n of_o all_o church-fellowship_n and_o communion_n with_o saint_n worldling_n be_v mistake_v if_o thy_o think_v to_o put_v out_o this_o glory_n though_o god_n do_v many_o time_n make_v use_v of_o meanu_n in_o which_o he_o make_v know_v himself_o yet_o he_o be_v not_o bind_v up_o to_o mean_n if_o the_o man_n of_o the_o world_n can_v so_o scatter_v saint_n as_o they_o shall_v never_o see_v the_o face_n one_o of_o another_o more_o yet_o by_o this_o they_o can_v hinder_v they_o from_o see_v the_o face_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n and_o this_o be_v saint_n glory_n it_o be_v a_o unexpressable_a glory_n that_o our_o glory_n be_v in_o god_n and_o that_o god_n himself_o be_v his_o people_n glory_n though_o the_o malice_n of_o man_n seem_v to_o be_v boundless_a yet_o certain_o their_o power_n be_v bound_v they_o be_v in_o fetter_n and_o chain_n before_o they_o come_v to_o their_o own_o home_n though_o they_o may_v perfect_o envy_v yet_o they_o can_v in_o the_o least_o disappoint_v or_o destroy_v saint_n in_o their_o glory_n god_n can_v in_o a_o moment_n unpower_v and_o destroy_v they_o but_o they_o can_v never_o un-god_n he_o they_o can_v diminish_v his_o original_a eternal_a love_n and_o freegrace_n and_o rich_a mercy_n they_o can_v make_v he_o unjust_a or_o unfaithful_a nay_o they_o shall_v feel_v that_o he_o be_v both_o they_o can_v strip_v god_n of_o his_o holiness_n righteousness_n purity_n power_n perfection_n infiniteness_n and_o eternity_n therefore_o they_o can_v strip_v saint_n of_o their_o glory_n because_o god_n in_o all_o this_o and_o all_o he_o be_v be_v his_o people_n glory_n saint_n have_v this_o glory_n above_o a_o die_a world_n therefore_o above_o the_o reach_n of_o die_a man_n oh_o than_o saint_n rejoice_v in_o the_o lord_n always_o glory_n in_o god_n who_o be_v fullness_n of_o glory_n let_v the_o world_n
