purpose_n there_o shall_v be_v a_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a etc._n etc._n by_o these_o word_n the_o apostle_n show_v we_o what_o be_v the_o substance_n of_o his_o doctrine_n to_o wit_n that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a and_o by_o these_o word_n also_o what_o be_v the_o great_a argument_n with_o his_o soul_n to_o carry_v he_o through_o these_o temptation_n affliction_n reproach_n and_o necessity_n he_o meet_v with_o in_o this_o world_n even_o the_o doctrine_n of_o a_o resurrection_n i_o have_v hope_n towards_o god_n say_v he_o and_o there_o be_v my_o mind_n fix_v for_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a both_o of_o the_o just_a and_o unjust_a the_o reason_n why_o i_o can_v do_v what_o these_o jew_n will_v have_v i_o also_o and_o herein_o do_v i_o exercise_v myself_o to_o have_v always_o a_o conscience_n void_a of_o offence_n both_o towards_o god_n and_o towards_o man_n now_o here_o see_v this_o doctrine_n of_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a have_v that_o power_n both_o to_o bear_v up_o and_o to_o awe_n both_o to_o encourage_v and_o to_o keep_v within_o compass_n the_o spirit_n and_o body_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n it_o will_v be_v requisite_a and_o profitable_a for_o we_o to_o inquire_v into_o the_o true_a meâ—ning_n and_o nature_n of_o this_o word_n the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a and_o for_o the_o better_a compass_v of_o this_o matter_n i_o shall_v brief_o inquire_v first_o what_o this_o place_n be_v mean_v by_o the_o dead_a second_o what_o be_v mean_v by_o the_o resurrection_n three_o why_o the_o apostle_n do_v here_o speak_v of_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a as_o of_o a_o thing_n yet_o to_o come_v there_o shall_v be_v a_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a both_o of_o the_o just_a and_o unjust_a for_o the_o first_o the_o dead_a in_o scripture_n go_v under_o a_o fivefold_a consideration_n as_o 1._o such_o as_o die_v a_o natural_a death_n or_o as_o when_o a_o man_n cease_v to_o be_v any_o more_o in_o this_o world_n
because_o christ_n be_v rise_v from_o the_o dead_a christ_n be_v the_o head_n of_o the_o just_a and_o they_o be_v the_o member_n of_o his_o body_n and_o because_o of_o this_o union_n therefore_o the_o just_a must_v arise_v this_o be_v the_o apostle_n own_o argument_n if_o christ_n say_v he_o be_v preach_v that_o he_o rise_v from_o the_o dead_a how_o say_v some_o among_o you_o that_o there_o be_v no_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a but_o if_o there_o be_v no_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a then_o be_v not_o christ_n rise_v 1_o cor._n 15._o 12_o 13._o now_o i_o say_v the_o reason_n why_o the_o apostle_n thus_o argue_v the_o resurrection_n from_o the_o dead_a by_o the_o resurrection_n of_o christ._n it_o be_v because_o the_o saint_n of_o who_o resurrection_n he_o here_o chief_o discourse_v be_v in_o their_o body_n as_o well_o as_o in_o their_o soul_n the_o member_n of_o christ_n know_v you_o not_o say_v he_o that_o your_o body_n be_v the_o member_n of_o christ_n 1_o cor._n 6._o 15._o a_o very_a weighty_a argument_n for_o if_o a_o good_a man_n be_v a_o member_n of_o christ_n than_o he_o must_v either_o be_v raise_v out_o of_o his_o grave_n or_o else_o sin_n and_o death_n must_v have_v power_n over_o a_o member_n of_o christ._n i_o say_v again_o if_o if_o this_o body_n be_v not_o raise_v then_o also_o christ_n be_v not_o a_o complete_a conqueror_n over_o his_o enemy_n for_o as_o much_o as_o death_n and_o the_o grave_a have_v still_o power_n over_o his_o member_n the_o last_o enemy_n that_o shall_v be_v destroy_v be_v death_n now_o though_o christ_n in_o his_o own_o person_n have_v a_o complete_a conquest_n over_o death_n etc._n etc._n yet_o death_n have_v still_o power_n over_o the_o body_n of_o all_o that_o be_v in_o their_o grave_n now_o i_o say_v christ_n be_v consider_v with_o relation_n to_o his_o member_n than_o he_o have_v not_o yet_o a_o complete_a conquest_n over_o death_n neither_o will_v he_o until_o they_o every_o one_o be_v bring_v forth_o of_o their_o grave_n for_o then_o and_o not_o till_o then_o shall_v that_o say_n be_v every_o way_n fulfil_v death_n be_v swallow_v up_o of_o victory_n 1_o cor._n 15._o 26._o and_o 53_o 54._o second_o as_o there_o must_v be_v a_o resurrection_n of_o the_o just_a because_o christ_n be_v their_o head_n and_o they_o his_o member_n so_o also_o because_o the_o body_n of_o the_o saint_n as_o well_o as_o
