correction_n but_o to_o embrace_v with_o a_o humble_a heart_n and_o patient_a mind_n us._n whatsoever_o he_o in_o his_o wisdom_n shall_v think_v sit_v to_o be_v lay_v upon_o they_o use_v no_o sinister_a violent_a or_o forbid_a mean_n to_o be_v ease_v and_o not_o to_o go_v before_o the_o good_a pleasure_n of_o god_n to_o be_v ease_v for_o as_o he_o lay_v they_o upon_o we_o he_o know_v the_o time_n and_o mean_n to_o remove_v they_o wherein_o we_o be_v to_o follow_v the_o example_n of_o noah_n who_o as_o he_o be_v shut_v up_o into_o the_o ark_n by_o god_n so_o will_v he_o not_o come_v forth_o without_o he_o neither_o shall_v we_o that_o be_v afflict_v by_o he_o seek_v to_o be_v ease_v but_o by_o he_o affliction_n in_o itself_o and_o of_o it_o own_o nature_n be_v indeed_o a_o heavy_a burden_n even_o to_o a_o mind_n well_o qualify_v as_o it_o be_v the_o punishment_n of_o sin_n but_o as_o god_n change_v the_o nature_n of_o it_o in_o make_v it_o the_o medicine_n to_o cure_v the_o sin_n of_o his_o child_n sin_n they_o become_v light_n who_o cross_n and_o correction_n he_o sanctify_v by_o his_o grace_n and_o make_v those_o bitter_a water_n sweet_a so_o that_o through_o faithful_a patience_n his_o dear_a child_n can_v with_o comfort_n digest_v they_o but_o contrary_o they_o bring_v forth_o in_o the_o wicked_a the_o poisonous_a fruit_n of_o impatience_n murmur_a grudge_a and_o many_o time_n very_a blasphemy_n wicked_a in_o so_o much_o as_o to_o they_o even_o good_a thing_n become_v evil_a and_o they_o become_v worse_o by_o that_o whereby_o the_o child_n of_o god_n be_v make_v better_o and_o therefore_o say_v god_n unto_o the_o wicked_a that_o through_o punishment_n will_v not_o amend_v wherefore_o shall_v you_o be_v smite_v any_o more_o for_o you_o fall_v away_o more_o and_o more_o whereby_o we_o be_v teach_v not_o to_o repine_v at_o the_o continual_a prosperity_n of_o the_o wicked_a that_o suffer_v not_o like_a trouble_n as_o the_o godly_a do_v here_o for_o god_n seem_v to_o wink_n a_o while_n at_o their_o wickedness_n and_o forbear_v to_o punish_v they_o suffer_v they_o to_o enjoy_v their_o profit_n their_o pleasure_n and_o carnal_a delight_n humility_n and_o prayer_n they_o be_v sustain_v support_v and_o in_o their_o great_a trouble_n deep_a danger_n distress_n and_o want_n comfort_v and_o relieve_v and_o obtain_v at_o his_o hand_n whatsoever_o small_a comfort_n they_o attribute_n it_o whole_o and_o altogether_o to_o his_o mere_a mercy_n goodness_n and_o providence_n not_o unto_o self_n wisdom_n policy_n or_o fortune_n they_o acknowledge_v their_o own_o wisdom_n to_o be_v but_o foolishness_n their_o policy_n frivolous_a and_o fortune_n a_o mere_a heathenish_a invention_n they_o see_v and_o feel_v their_o own_o weakness_n they_o observe_v their_o own_o blindness_n they_o find_v they_o can_v do_v nothing_o of_o themselves_o towards_o the_o remove_n of_o their_o misery_n nor_o supply_v of_o their_o want_n but_o repair_n unto_o and_o rely_v only_o upon_o god_n in_o faithful_a prayer_n and_o wait_v with_o patience_n for_o and_o receive_v timely_a supply_n by_o trouble_n and_o affliction_n they_o find_v the_o world_n inconstancy_n humane_a fickleness_n world_n and_o that_o in_o the_o world_n the_o dear_a child_n of_o god_n have_v least_o rest_n they_o be_v toss_v hither_o and_o thither_o one_o trouble_n follow_v another_o as_o the_o drop_n of_o rain_n whereby_o also_o the_o pride_n of_o corrupt_a nature_n in_o the_o godly_a be_v humble_v their_o confidence_n in_o worldly_a mean_n abate_v their_o security_n abandon_v they_o find_v that_o fullness_n breed_v sin_n and_o sin_n procure_v god_n displeasure_n and_o in_o his_o displeasure_n he_o punish_v the_o wicked_a and_o correct_v the_o godly_a and_o evacuate_v our_o gross_a and_o filthy_a corruption_n that_o suffocate_v our_o heart_n with_o sin_n we_o shall_v feel_v a_o most_o wish_a renovation_n of_o the_o health_n of_o our_o mind_n and_o find_v our_o affection_n change_v even_o as_o a_o body_n distemper_v with_o a_o fever_n distaste_v the_o most_o savoury_a thing_n as_o long_o as_o it_o possess_v the_o body_n and_o afterward_o become_v to_o it_o perfect_a taste_n so_o although_o as_o long_o as_o we_o be_v hold_v with_o the_o corrupt_a infirmity_n of_o our_o natural_a will_n no_o good_a duty_n or_o heavenly_a grace_n can_v be_v so_o toothsome_a unto_o we_o as_o pleasure_v and_o the_o sin_n we_o delight_v in_o but_o be_v purge_v and_o diet_v by_o the_o affliction_n that_o our_o love_a physician_n do_v compound_v for_o we_o we_o shall_v find_v sin_n and_o pleasure_n and_o all_o carnal_a delight_n to_o become_v bitter_a and_o harsh_a unto_o our_o heart_n god_n many_o time_n send_v we_o trouble_n and_o affliction_n that_o by_o ease_v we_o of_o they_o again_o they_o we_o may_v know_v that_o as_o he_o can_v correct_v we_o so_o he_o can_v comfort_v we_o he_o never_o make_v a_o wound_n but_o he_o heal_v it_o nay_o such_o be_v his_o mercy_n power_n and_o providence_n as_o he_o cure_v the_o most_o deadly_a wound_n that_o ourselves_o do_v make_v upon_o ourselves_o through_o our_o sin_n by_o his_o own_o free_a mercy_n in_o his_o son_n and_o the_o medicine_n he_o use_v be_v his_o fatherly_a chastisement_n shall_v we_o not_o therefore_o take_v his_o salutarie_n and_o gentle_a stripe_n with_o patience_n us._n that_o do_v worthy_a be_v the_o ambassador_n of_o the_o eternal_a god_n we_o can_v not_o but_o bear_v our_o light_n and_o momentanie_n affliction_n with_o most_o resolute_a and_o godly_a patience_n and_o as_o heinous_a sin_n as_o the_o rich_a for_o it_o be_v not_o wealth_n that_o always_o make_v a_o wicked_a man_n though_o it_o be_v a_o great_a temptation_n and_o provocation_n to_o many_o and_o grievous_a sin_n it_o be_v not_o the_o money_n but_o the_o mind_n wherein_o the_o error_n lie_v and_o it_o be_v not_o poverty_n evil_n of_o itself_o or_o any_o other_o cross_n that_o make_v a_o evil_a man_n own_o child_n it_o be_v to_o another_o end_n for_o when_o by_o his_o chastisement_n he_o have_v sufficient_o try_v and_o humble_v they_o and_o bring_v they_o to_o the_o knowledge_n and_o acknowledgement_n of_o that_o for_o which_o their_o calamity_n and_o cross_n be_v fall_v upon_o they_o namely_o for_o their_o sin_n and_o disobedience_n then_o he_o begin_v as_o the_o skilful_a chirurgeon_n to_o lay_v mollify_a and_o heal_a plaster_n of_o love_n upon_o their_o wound_n he_o work_v inward_a assurance_n of_o the_o free_a pardon_n of_o their_o sin_n in_o their_o conscience_n condemnation_n of_o the_o other_o reserve_v for_o he_o a_o great_a punishment_n howsoever_o he_o may_v think_v that_o god_n have_v restore_v he_o in_o his_o love_n and_o therefore_o god_n be_v sure_o
