mercy_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v reject_v even_o of_o the_o incarnation_n the_o nativity_n the_o passion_n the_o resurrection_n and_o ascension_n of_o christ_n jesus_n and_o of_o the_o glorious_a fruit_n of_o all_o the_o send_v of_o the_o holy-ghost_n with_o so_o many_o treasure_n of_o divine_a grace_n and_o mercy_n to_o the_o enrich_n of_o the_o church_n which_o be_v of_o such_o excellent_a use_n not_o only_o to_o stir_v up_o the_o people_n unto_o thankfulness_n or_o to_o revive_v the_o comfortable_a sense_n of_o god_n mercy_n in_o their_o heart_n while_o they_o be_v so_o often_o and_o in_o such_o solemn_a manner_n present_v unto_o their_o apprehension_n by_o the_o church_n but_o be_v also_o so_o many_o bless_a opportunity_n gain_v to_o draw_v the_o people_n together_o unto_o the_o solemn_a exercise_n of_o religion_n towards_o god_n and_o of_o christian_a love_n and_o charity_n to_o one_o another_o so_o many_o day_n of_o mercy_n to_o the_o poor_a beast_n and_o toil_a servant_n and_o be_v of_o excellent_a use_n for_o the_o instil_a and_o preserve_v of_o the_o fundamental_a doctrine_n of_o christianity_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o people_n which_o serve_v in_o stead_n of_o and_o so_o to_o have_v retain_v they_o to_o the_o honour_n of_o god_n and_o edification_n of_o his_o people_n in_o the_o due_a exercise_n of_o the_o work_n of_o piety_n towards_o god_n charity_n and_o love_n one_o to_o another_o and_o of_o mercy_n and_o release_v to_o our_o poor_a beast_n and_o servant_n but_o alas_o if_o the_o matter_n be_v right_o examine_v i_o doubt_v we_o may_v find_v that_o the_o work_n of_o piety_n mercy_n and_o charity_n be_v only_o cast_v away_o and_o the_o licentiousness_n and_o lawless_a liberty_n of_o those_o day_n be_v still_o retain_v at_o least_o that_o there_o be_v no_o such_o watch_n set_v against_o the_o latter_a as_o against_o the_o former_a and_o i_o can_v hardly_o forbear_v to_o tell_v you_o that_o it_o be_v the_o right_a method_n of_o the_o devil_n reformation_n to_o cast_v away_o the_o good_a and_o retain_v the_o evil_a they_o winnow_v with_o satan_n sieve_n that_o shake_v out_o the_o good_a gorne_n and_o retain_v the_o chaff_n and_o offal_n so_o he_o will_v have_v winnow_v s._n peter_n no_o doubt_n &_o so_o some_o have_v now_o winnow_v the_o flower_n of_o our_o church_n this_o whirlewind-reformation_n of_o we_o have_v even_o blow_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o the_o wheat_n from_o we_o by_o cast_v out_o the_o holy_a ordinance_n of_o god_n the_o beauty_n and_o order_n of_o his_o service_n together_o with_o the_o government_n of_o the_o church_n and_o instead_o thereof_o have_v leave_v we_o i_o know_v not_o how_o many_o great_a heap_n of_o chaff_n of_o corruption_n confusion_n and_o depravation_n among_o we_o which_o be_v ground_n there_o be_v some_o chaff_n in_o our_o heap_n which_o do_v deserve_v a_o winnow_v but_o with_o a_o more_o moderate_a wind_n but_o we_o have_v better_o have_v eat_v the_o wheat_n and_o the_o chaff_n together_o then_o to_o have_v have_v the_o wheat_n take_v from_o we_o and_o so_o much_o chaff_n leave_v we_o in_o the_o stead_n of_o it_o i_o shall_v be_v too_o voluminous_a in_o this_o sad_a subject_n shall_v i_o draw_v out_o the_o parallel_n of_o our_o evil_n and_o those_o of_o the_o jew_n through_o the_o whole_a book_n of_o the_o prophet_n lamentation_n shall_v i_o show_v you_o every_o face_n of_o our_o misery_n in_o those_o water_n of_o marah_n or_o bitterness_n those_o flood_n of_o affliction_n wherewith_o they_o be_v overwhelm_v i_o may_v tell_v you_o of_o the_o exaltation_n of_o the_o adversary_n of_o each_o church_n the_o prosperity_n of_o their_o enemy_n ver._n 5._o but_o they_o themselves_o will_v not_o doubt_v be_v your_o remembrancer_n of_o that_o of_o the_o prince_n
