brother_n what_o do_v thou_o look_v for_o or_o what_o be_v thy_o desire_n sir_n quoth_v desire_v i_o look_v for_o that_o love_n of_o god_n i_o be_o be_v answer_v the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o as_o soon_o as_o desire_n do_v hear_v this_o fall_v in_o a_o sound_n but_o the_o love_n of_o god_n take_v he_o by_o the_o hand_n and_o lift_v he_o up_o reviue_v he_o again_o and_o when_o he_o see_v the_o love_n of_o god_n make_v so_o much_o of_o he_o he_o begin_v most_o bitter_o to_o weep_v insomuch_o that_o he_o can_v not_o speak_v any_o word_n at_o all_o which_o the_o love_n of_o god_n see_v be_v thereof_o to_o eat_v call_v see_v god_n be_v it_o a_o sweet_a fruit_n say_v desire_n for_o they_o give_v i_o a_o other_o to_o eat_v in_o the_o house_n of_o humility_n which_o be_v somewhat_o bitter_a and_o chief_o at_o the_o first_o fall_v somewhat_o hard_a &_o uneasy_a to_o be_v swallow_v this_o fruit_n quoth_v he_o to_o desire_n god_n be_v marvelous_a sweet_a and_o pleasant_a but_o to_o some_o more_o sweet_a and_o of_o pleasant_a taste_n than_o to_o other_o which_o happen_v after_o the_o good_a appetite_n and_o stomach_n that_o they_o have_v and_o the_o sound_a that_o their_o taste_n be_v and_o their_o tooth_n the_o better_a thereafter_o they_o find_v this_o fruit_n the_o sweet_a and_o more_o pleasant_a for_o some_o there_o be_v who_o have_v rot_a tooth_n &_o to_o those_o this_o fruit_n be_v unsavoury_a for_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o chaw_v it_o and_o some_o do_v eat_v it_o without_o appetite_n or_o hunger_n because_o their_o stomach_n be_v already_o overload_v with_o other_o meat_n and_o to_o those_o likewise_o it_o be_v unpleasant_a because_o they_o can_v well_o digeste_v it_o although_o it_o do_v they_o but_o sinal_a hurt_n and_o some_o there_o be_v who_o taste_n be_v mar_v through_o a_o fever_n or_o a_o unnatural_a heat_n and_o these_o know_v nothing_o of_o this_o fruit_n but_o only_o by_o hear_v say_v i_o pray_v you_o qd_n desire_v let_v i_o taste_v of_o this_o fruit_n i_o be_o glad_a answer_v to_o desire_v gâ—d_v be_v thou_o willing_a to_o taste_v of_o it_o for_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o we_o during_o this_o life_n shall_v satisfy_v ourselves_o or_o sil_fw-fr our_o belly_n with_o it_o but_o only_o taste_v how_o sweet_a and_o pleasant_a it_o be_v wherefore_o quoth_v desire_n therefore_o answer_v to_o desire_n god_n for_o if_o man_n can_v here_o satisfy_v his_o appetite_n with_o it_o &_o feed_v plentiful_o unto_o his_o own_o will_n of_o it_o he_o will_v never_o be_v willing_a to_o leave_v this_o prison_n and_o go_v to_o heaven_n have_v here_o of_o this_o fruit_n sufficient_a enough_o to_o maintain_v he_o but_o for_o the_o better_a understanding_n hereof_o we_o die_v almost_o for_o hunger_n and_o be_v famt_v and_o feeble_a with_o too_o long_o fast_v look_v always_o for_o the_o time_n till_o we_o shall_v come_v to_o the_o banquet_n of_o our_o sovereign_a lord_n and_o ring_n and_o even_o as_o a_o hart_n do_v thirst_n in_o the_o summer_n after_o the_o springe_n of_o water_n so_o likewise_o do_v our_o soul_n hunger_n after_o that_o day_n this_o fruit_n be_v of_o such_o force_n and_o virtue_n that_o only_o a_o small_a bit_n do_v fill_v our_o stomach_n so_o much_o that_o it_o be_v not_o able_a to_o contain_v more_o how_o great_a a_o feeder_n soever_o a_o man_n be_v but_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v with_o the_o lord_n than_o he_o will_v give_v we_o great_a &_o strong_a stomach_n that_o we_o may_v eat_v plentiful_o enough_o of_o these_o fruit_n without_o any_o hurt_n or_o surfeit_a for_o if_o any_o will_v eat_v here_o in_o this_o liâ—e_z more_z then_o their_o stomach_n be_v able_a to_o bear_v it_o will_v more_o hinder_v then_o profit_n they_o therefore_o it_o be_v needful_a that_o we_o eat_v but_o a_o little_a and_o inoderat_o of_o these_o fruit_n till_o we_o come_v to_o that_o place_n where_o we_o may_v full_o satisfy_v ourselves_o with_o they_o whereof_o we_o have_v now_o but_o a_o choose_v those_o for_o his_o service_n who_o be_v the_o abject_n of_o that_o world_n to_o the_o end_n that_o no_o body_n who_o dwell_v here_o shall_v think_v he_o to_o be_v receyve_v and_o entertain_v for_o his_o desert_n &_o worthiness_n but_o only_o through_o the_o goodness_n and_o mere_a mercy_n of_o god_n therefore_o if_o thou_o be_v willing_a for_o to_o dwell_v here_o and_o desirous_a not_o to_o loose_v but_o to_o profit_n &_o further_o thyself_o and_o procure_v that_o thy_o song_n be_v acceptable_a unto_o god_n remember_v these_o four_o part_n the_o first_o be_v goodwill_n the_o second_o humility_n that_o third_z patience_n the_o four_o love_n or_o charity_n and_o whensoever_o thou_o sing_v with_o these_o four_o part_n thou_o shall_v never_o fail_v in_o thy_o song_n and_o although_o sometime_o thou_o flippe_v a_o note_n or_o two_o or_o else_o do_v not_o sing_v fast_o enough_o present_o thou_o shall_v come_v to_o the_o right_a tune_n again_o by_o hear_v only_o with_o to_o eat_v the_o fruit_n which_o thou_o have_v eat_v in_o that_o palace_n of_o humility_n namely_o to_o distrust_v in_o thyself_o and_o the_o great_a thy_o love_n and_o desire_n be_v towards_o god_n and_o the_o great_a friend_n thou_o be_v of_o the_o lord_n give_v he_o the_o more_o of_o this_o fruit_n for_o he_o love_v they_o well_o &_o glad_o eat_v of_o they_o the_o thirteen_o chapter_n how_o to_o desire_v god_n do_v bring_v desire_n into_o the_o chamber_n of_o the_o lord_n &_o beside_o intreat_v of_o a_o instruction_n to_o prayer_n i_o will_v pray_v you_o for_o to_o get_v one_o savoure_n more_o at_o your_o hand_n which_o be_v see_v you_o have_v entertain_v i_o &_o grant_v that_o i_o shall_v dwell_v here_o that_o it_o may_v please_v you_o likewise_o to_o bring_v i_o to_o my_o lord_n for_o to_o know_v he_o &_o to_o do_v unto_o he_o homage_n &_o reverence_n i_o be_o content_v qd_n to_o desire_v god_n go_v with_o i_o desire_n go_v tremble_v that_o he_o now_o shall_v speak_v with_o so_o mighty_a a_o king_n &_o monarch_n in_o his_o chamber_n and_o stand_v before_o his_o divine_a majesty_n and_o be_v take_v with_o such_o fear_n &_o tremble_a that_o he_o neither_o dare_v nor_o can_v come_v before_o that_o lord_n in_o as_o much_o that_o he_o be_v mind_v to_o turn_v back_o again_o but_o when_o he_o remember_v again_o the_o nobility_n and_o unspeakable_a courtesy_n and_o goodness_n of_o this_o king_n &_o how_o loving_a &_o affable_a he_o be_v to_o every_o man_n he_o comfort_v himself_o upon_o his_o graciousness_n there_o upon_o put_v only_o all_o his_o trust_n &_o confidence_n tarry_v for_o i_o here_o at_o the_o door_n say_v to_o desire_n god_n for_o i_o will_v go_v see_v what_o my_o lord_n do_v and_o tell_v he_o how_o thou_o be_v here_o to_o speak_v with_o he_o desire_n be_v yet_o fearful_a study_v what_o he_o shall_v say_v unto_o the_o lord_n when_o he_o shall_v come_v before_o he_o come_v hither_o qd_n to_o desire_n god_n i_o have_v tell_v my_o lord_n how_o thou_o be_v here_o go_v in_o therefore_o and_o i_o will_v stay_v here_o for_o thou_o desire_n begin_v with_o great_a reverence_n to_o go_v through_o the_o chamber_n of_o presence_n &_o as_o soon_o as_o he_o do_v see_v the_o lord_n fall_v down_o flat_a upon_o his_o face_n weep_v bitter_o &_o dare_v not_o once_o lift_v up_o his_o eye_n for_o he_o remember_v that_o he_o have_v be_v a_o mortal_a enemy_n of_o his_o lord_n &_o have_v do_v he_o oftentimes_o great_a injury_n and_o wrong_n in_o as_o much_o that_o he_o be_v not_o able_a to_o utter_v one_o word_n but_o only_o do_v sigh_v &_o weep_v think_v always_o that_o now_o he_o be_v in_o the_o presence_n of_o this_o endless_a goodness_n who_o he_o have_v so_o oftentimes_o &_o so_o grievous_o offend_v what_o mean_v this_o qd_n our_o lord_n wherefore_o do_v thou_o come_v hither_o do_v thou_o not_o speak_v arise_v &_o let_v i_o know_v thy_o desire_n what_o can_v or_o shall_v i_o speak_v before_o thy_o incomprehensible_a majesty_n answer_v desire_n o_o my_o lord_n i_o be_o not_o worthy_a to_o open_v my_o vile_a &_o unclean_a mouth_n in_o thy_o sight_n but_o suffer_v i_o now_o to_o bewail_v by_o silence_n sigh_n &_o tear_n my_o forepast_a wickedness_n &_o iniquity_n wherefore_o be_v thou_o come_v hither_o quoth_v our_o lord_n i_o i_o be_o not_o come_v hither_o my_o lord_n answer_v desire_n for_o i_o do_v not_o think_v that_o i_o have_v deserve_v to_o dwell_v here_o in_o thy_o house_n and_o yet_o less_o to_o come_v in_o thy_o majesty_n chamber_n &_o presence_n who_o have_v bronght_n thou_o hither_o then_o
