who_o can_v suffer_v and_o in_o who_o there_o be_v no_o shadow_n of_o change_n but_o thus_o it_o have_v please_v he_o to_o shadow_v out_o his_o own_o incomprehensible_a nature_n by_o the_o likeness_n of_o our_o nature_n resemble_v it_o as_o to_o the_o other_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n so_o also_o to_o these_o affection_n yea_o so_o that_o a_o great_a part_n of_o his_o glory_n reveal_v to_o his_o church_n consist_v in_o they_o for_o although_o he_o have_v manifest_v himself_o to_o the_o heathen_a in_o his_o wisdom_n and_o power_n shine_v in_o the_o creature_n yet_o in_o his_o be_v now_o come_v to_o ripe_a age_n he_o may_v not_o receive_v increase_n of_o knowledge_n by_o the_o mean_n of_o some_o other_o man_n as_o we_o be_v to_o declare_v in_o the_o three_o part_n of_o this_o treatise_n but_o that_o he_o be_v of_o perfect_a age_n be_v able_a of_o himself_o without_o the_o teach_n of_o any_o other_o to_o attain_v to_o the_o true_a and_o perfect_a knowledge_n of_o god_n but_o here_o it_o may_v be_v ask_v what_o this_o be_v that_o man_n be_v endue_v with_o perfect_a knowledge_n can_v learn_v of_o god_n we_o answer_v that_o although_o man_n want_v no_o knowledge_n which_o be_v any_o way_n needful_a for_o his_o present_a state_n or_o which_o may_v be_v require_v in_o perfect_a happiness_n yet_o it_o be_v ordain_v by_o god_n that_o his_o knowledge_n shall_v continual_o increase_v as_o god_n shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n reveal_v himself_o more_o and_o more_o unto_o he_o for_o the_o event_n of_o thing_n in_o the_o continual_a administration_n of_o the_o world_n will_v have_v lay_v open_a many_o of_o god_n counsel_n decree_n and_o action_n which_o can_v not_o be_v foresee_v by_o man_n in_o the_o beginning_n neither_o be_v reveal_v to_o he_o will_n in_o he_o which_o we_o may_v call_v potential_a as_o have_v be_v say_v that_o man_n have_v both_o a_o actual_a and_o a_o potential_a understanding_n this_o potential_a will_n common_o call_v freewill_n be_v the_o power_n which_o man_n have_v of_o incline_v his_o will_n either_o to_o good_a or_o to_o evil_n or_o more_o brief_o the_o possibility_n of_o willing_a either_o of_o good_a or_o many_o do_v this_o be_v his_o actual_a will_n but_o again_o that_o man_n may_v change_v his_o will_n and_o become_v altogether_o disloyal_a to_o his_o prince_n and_o a_o hater_n of_o his_o friend_n this_o be_v his_o possible_a and_o potential_a will_n so_o man_n incline_v real_o and_o indeed_o only_o to_o good_a but_o in_o possibility_n either_o to_o good_a or_o evil_n yet_o not_o equal_o but_o more_o to_o good_a then_o to_o evil_a as_o he_o that_o now_o love_v his_o friend_n although_o hereafter_o he_o may_v love_v or_o hate_v he_o yet_o it_o be_v like_a that_o he_o will_v love_v then_o hate_v he_o that_o this_o potential_a will_n be_v in_o man_n we_o need_v not_o prove_v by_o argument_n be_v sufficient_o prove_v already_o by_o the_o event_n itself_o and_o the_o woeful_a experience_n of_o mankind_n the_o which_o by_o the_o mean_n of_o his_o potential_a will_n have_v lose_v that_o holy_a and_o happy_a estate_n wherein_o it_o be_v create_v for_o man_n be_v enable_v by_o god_n to_o will_v either_o good_a or_o evil_a &_o be_v command_v by_o god_n to_o will_v good_a only_o do_v choose_v rather_o to_o satisfy_v his_o own_o perverse_a &_o sinful_a desire_n in_o willing_a evil_a then_o to_o obey_v the_o will_n of_o god_n in_o willing_a good_a if_o any_o man_n do_v ask_v why_o god_n do_v put_v into_o man_n this_o potential_a doubtful_a and_o uncertain_a will_n see_v that_o it_o can_v never_o have_v be_v incline_v to_o evil_a &_o so_o he_o can_v not_o possible_o have_v commit_v sin_n because_o of_o the_o want_n of_o the_o free_a and_o potential_a will_n but_o he_o by_o who_o this_o doubt_n be_v propound_v will_v marvel_v to_o hear_v that_o bring_v against_o his_o opinion_n which_o he_o do_v allege_v as_o the_o only_a reason_n and_o strength_n of_o it_o and_o that_o any_o man_n shall_v think_v freewill_n to_o have_v be_v needful_a in_o the_o state_n of_o innocency_n because_o without_o it_o man_n can_v not_o have_v sin_v when_o as_o he_o think_v that_o it_o may_v very_o well_o have_v be_v spare_v for_o that_o cause_n see_v that_o as_o sin_v itself_o whereby_o god_n glory_n be_v obscure_v and_o man_n happiness_n utter_o lose_v so_o all_o the_o mean_n occasion_n and_o inducemente_n of_o it_o ought_v by_o all_o mean_n to_o be_v avoid_v to_o this_o reply_n we_o make_v this_o answer_n that_o god_n glory_n be_v impair_v much_o by_o the_o commit_n of_o sin_n but_o much_o more_o by_o this_o suppose_a impossibility_n of_o commit_v sin_n for_o immutability_n and_o uncapablenesse_n of_o sin_n be_v a_o great_a part_n of_o his_o glory_n and_o inseparable_a attribute_n of_o his_o divine_a essence_n and_o therefore_o they_o can_v without_o the_o great_a dishonour_n of_o god_n be_v communicate_v to_o any_o earthly_a creature_n now_o as_o touch_v man_n himself_o who_o patron_n although_o he_o yield_v to_o this_o yet_o he_o think_v it_o impossible_a to_o be_v prove_v that_o this_o impossibility_n of_o sin_v be_v not_o good_a and_o profitable_a for_o man_n what_o reason_n be_v it_o that_o his_o good_a shall_v not_o give_v place_n to_o god_n glory_n for_o the_o which_o he_o be_v create_v see_v that_o the_o want_v of_o potential_a will_n and_o the_o impossibility_n of_o sin_v arise_v thereof_o do_v direct_o obscure_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n but_o not_o necessary_o hinder_v the_o happiness_n of_o man_n who_o can_v think_v that_o god_n do_v either_o compel_v or_o any_o way_n cause_v he_o to_o sin_n in_o that_o he_o have_v make_v it_o possible_a for_o he_o to_o sin_n but_o what_o will_v be_v say_v for_o this_o impossibility_n of_o sin_v if_o so_o be_v it_o be_v find_v hurtful_a to_o man_n himself_o as_o it_o be_v indeed_o as_o will_v easy_o appear_v to_o he_o who_o consider_v that_o it_o deprive_v man_n not_o only_o of_o all_o praise_n and_o commendation_n which_o be_v receive_v at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n be_v not_o light_o to_o be_v esteem_v by_o man_n who_o think_v it_o a_o great_a matter_n laudari_fw-la a_o laudato_fw-la to_o be_v praise_v by_o a_o worthy_a man_n but_o also_o of_o holiness_n itself_o for_o what_o be_v more_o ridiculous_a than_o that_o man_n shall_v look_v for_o any_o commendation_n for_o not_o sin_v when_o as_o he_o can_v not_o so_o much_o as_o be_v willing_a to_o sin_n see_v that_o the_o brute_n beast_n yea_o stock_n and_o stone_n in_o the_o which_o there_o be_v no_o sin_n nor_o shadow_n of_o any_o may_v as_o just_o look_v for_o praise_n in_o that_o respect_n or_o for_o perform_v positive_a duty_n of_o holiness_n come_v not_o of_o a_o willing_a and_o ready_a mind_n which_o god_n regard_v but_o of_o necessity_n and_o constraint_n and_o as_o the_o due_a praise_n of_o holiness_n so_o also_o holiness_n itself_o be_v take_v away_o by_o this_o impossible_a possibillity_n of_o sin_v for_o nothing_o can_v proper_o be_v say_v to_o be_v the_o subject_n of_o holiness_n which_o natural_o may_v not_o become_v sinful_a as_o nothing_o be_v say_v to_o have_v life_n or_o sight_n which_o may_v not_o become_v dead_a or_o blind_a and_o therefore_o we_o do_v not_o say_v that_o stone_n and_o brute_n beast_n have_v in_o they_o any_o holiness_n because_o they_o can_v have_v sinfulness_n which_o be_v the_o privation_n of_o it_o how_o then_o will_v this_o curious_a questionarie_n say_v can_v the_o holy_a angel_n fall_v from_o god_n and_o do_v you_o make_v the_o nature_n
