XLVIII GReat is the Lord and greatly to be praised in the city of our God in the mountain of his holinesse THe Lord is great and greatly he for to be praised is In our Gods city in the hill of his own holinesse 2 Beautifull for situation the joy of the whole earth is mount Sion on the sides of the north the city of the great King 2 For situation beautifull the joy of all the earth Mount Sion's the Kings citie great is on the sides of north 3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge 4 For lo the Kings were assembled they passed by together 3 God in her palaces is known for a refuge for ever 4 For â—…o the kings assembled werd they passed by together 5 They saw it and so they marvelled the were troubled and hasted away 6 Fear took hold upon them there and pain as of a woman in travell 5 They saw it so they marvelled they troubled hast did make 6 As of a woman travelling fear pain there did them take 7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east-winde 8 As we have heard so have we scen in the city of the Lord of hosts 7 With an Eastwind by thee the ships of Tarshish broken be 8 In city of the Lord of hosts we as we heard did see In the city of our God God will establish it for ever Selah 9 We have thought of thy loving kindnesse O God in the midst of thy Temple In our Gods City God himself for ay it stablish will 9 We of thy loving kindnesse Lord thought in thy Temple still 10 According to thy Name O God so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth thy right hand is full of righteousnesse 10 According to thy Name O God ends of the earth untill So is thy praise and righteousnesse thy right hand it doth fill 11 Let mount Sion rejoice let the daughters of Iudah be glad because of thy judgements 11 Of Sion let the mount rejoice and glade the daughters be Of Judah let and that because of judgements done by thee 12 Walk about Sion and go round about her tell the towers thereof 13 Mark ye well her bulwarks consider her palaces 12 Walk about Sion compasse her thereof the towers tell 13 Consider ye her palaces and mark her bulwarks well That ye may tell it to the generations following 14 For this God is our God for ever and ever he will be our guide even unto death To generations following that it so tell may yee 14 For this God is our God for ay our guide to death hee 'l be PSAL. XLIX HEar this all ye people give ear all ye inhabitants of the world 2 Both low and high rich and poor together HEar this all people give ye ear all in the world that dwell 2 Both low and high both rich and poor together weigh this well 3 My mouth shall speak of wisdome and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding 3 My mouth of wisdome it shall speak and of my heart in me The meditation wholly shall of understanding be 4 I will inâ—…line mine ear to a

aboundantly thereof dost water oft The furrows thereof setlest thou with showrs thou mak'st it soft Thou blessest the springing thereof 11 Thou crownest the yeer with thy goodnesse and thy paths drop fatnesse The springing thereof thou dost blesse 11 And with thy goodnesse crown Thou dost the year and al 's thy steps they fatnesse do drop down 12 They drop upon the pastures of the wildernesse and the little hils rejoice on every side 12 They do upon the pastures drop of wildernesse so wide And then the hills that little are rejoice on ev'ry side 13 The pastures are clothed with flocks the valleys also are covered over with corn they shout for joy they also sing 13 The pastures cloathed are with flocks the valleys over so With corn are covered they for joy do shout they sing also PSAL. LXVI MAke a joyfull noise unto God all ye lands 2 Sing forth the honour of his Name make his praise glorious O All ye lands do unto God a noise that 's joyfull raise 2 Sing forth the honour of his Name make glorious his praise 3 Say unto God How terrible art thou in thy workes through the greatnesse of thy pow or shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee 3 Say unto God how terrible art thou in works so great Through thy great power thine en'mies shal themselves to thee submit 4 All the earth shall worship thee and shall sing unto thee they shall sing to thy Name Selah 4 Heere all the earths inhabitants shall worship to thee bring And unto thee all sing they shall they to thy name shall sing Selah 5 Come and see the works of God he â—…errible in his doing toward the children â—… tmen 5 Come ye and see ye of the Lord the works done now and then He in his doing terrible is to the sons of men 6 He turned the sea into dry land they went through the flood on foot there did we rejoice in him 6 Into dry land he turn'd the sea and they who were his choice On foot went through the flood and we did there in him rejoice 7 He ruleth by his power for ever his eyes behold the nations let not the rebellious exalt themselves Selah 7 He by his power for ever rules his eyes the Nations see Let not those men themselves exalt that thus rebellious be Selah 8 O blesse our God ye people and make the voice of his praise to be heard 9 Which holdeth our soul in life and suffereth not our feet to be moved 8 O blesse our God ye people all his praise voice heard make ye 9 Which holds our soul in life and lets our feet not moved be 10 For thou O God hast proved us thou hast tried us as silver is tried 11 Thou broughtest us into the net thou layedst affliction upon our loins 10 For Lord as silver 's try'd thou hast prov'd and try'd us eachone 11 Us in the net broughtst on our loines thou laidst affliction 12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads we went through fire and through water but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place 12 Thou ov'r our heads caus'd men to ride we through the fire did passe And water al 's thou broughtst us out into a wealthy place 13 I will go into thy house with burnt-offerings I will pay thee my vows 14 Which my lips have uttered and my mouth hath spoken when I was in trouble 13 I 'le to thy house burnt-offrings bring my vows I 'le pay to thee 14 Which my lips uttred my mouth spake when trouble was on me 15 I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings with the incense of rams I will offer bullocks with goats Selah 15 Of fatlings sacrifices burnt to offer thee I 'le take Yea with rames incense bullocks goats an offring I will make 16 Come and hear all ye that fear God and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. 17 I cried unto him with my mouth and he was extolled with my tongue 16 All that fear God come hear I 'le tell what he did sor my soul 17 Unto him with my mouth I cri'd my tongue did him extoll 18 If I regard iniquitie in my heart the Lord will not hear me 19 But verilie God hath heard me he hath attended to the voice of my prayer 18 If in my heart I sin regard the Lord will not me hear 19 But truely God me heard and to my prayers voice gave ear 20 Blessed be God which hath not turned away my prayer nor his mercy from me 20 O blessed be my God for ay for that my prayer hee Not turned hath away nor yet his mercy great from me PSAL. LXVII GOd be mercifull unto us and blesse us and cause his face to shine upon us Selah GOD unto us be mercifull and do us also blesse And cause now for to shine on us the brightnesse of his face Selah 2 That thy way may be known upon earth thy saving health among all Nations 2 That thus thy way upon the earth to all men may be knwon And al 's among the nations all thy saving health be shown 3 Let the people praise thee O God let all the people praise thee 4 O let the nations be glade and sing for joy 3 Let people praise thee let thee praise the people all O God 4 O do thou let the Nations for joy sing and be glade For thou shalt judge the people righteously and govern the nations upon earth Selah 5 Let the people priase thee O God let all the people praise thee For rightly thou shalt people judge and nations rule on earth 5 Let people praise thee Lord and let them all thy praise shew forth 6 Then shall the earth yeeld her encrease and God even our own God shall blesse us 7 God shall blesse us and all the ends of the earth shall fear him 6 Earth then shall increase yeeld and God our God shall blesse us all 7 God shall us blesse and of the earth the ends all fear him shall PSAL. LXVIII LEt God arise let his enemies be scattered let them also that hate him flee before him LEt God arise let those who are his enemies scattred be And let them all that do him hate before him also flee 2 As smoak is driven away so drive them away as wax melteth before the fire so let the wicked perish at the presence of God 2 As smoak is driv'n drive them away as wax melts fire before Let at Gods presence wicked men so perish evermore 3 But let the righteous be glade let them rejoice before God yea let them exceedingly rejoice 3 But let the righteous men be glade before God by and by Let them rejoice yea let them all rejoice exceedingly 4 Sing unto God sing praises to his Name extoll him that rideth upon the heavens by his Name IAH and rejoice before him 4 Sing to God to his Name sing praise extoll him with your voice That rides on heav'ns
them led 15 In Desert rocks he clave as from great depths drink furnished 16 He brought streams also out of the rock and caused waters to run down like rivers 17 And they sinned yet more against him he did command and heav'ns doores opened 24 And had rained down manna upon them to eat and had given them of the corn of heaven 25 Man did eat angels food he sent them meat to the full 24 And Manna rain'd on them and gave them corn of heav'n to eat 25 Man Angels food did eat he them unto the full sent meat 26 He caused an east-wind to blow in the heaven and by his power brought in the south-wind 26 Then in the heaven he did cause an east wind for to blo And by his power he did bring the south wind in also 27 He rained flesh also upon them as dust and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea 28 And he let it fall in the midst of their camp round about their habitations 27 On them al 's rain'd he flesh as dust fouls feathered as sea sand 28 He let it fall amid their camp round where their dwellings stand 29 So they did eat and were well filled for he gave them their own desire 30 They were not estranged from their lust 29 So they did eat and were well fill'd he gave them their him flattringly And likewise also with their tongues they unto him didly 37 For their heart was not right with him neither were they stedfast in his covenant 37 For their deceitfull heart with him in no way right was there Nor yet they in his covenant together stedfast were 38 But he being full of compassion forgave their iniquity and destroyed them not yea many a time turned he his anger away and did not stir up all his wrath 31 He mercifull their sin forgave and them he not destroy'd Yea oft his anger turn'd away his wrath not at all imploy'd 39 For he remembred that they were but flesh a winde that passeth away and cometh not again 39 For that they were but flesh he did in memory retain A wind that passing is away and commeth not again 40 How oft did they provoke him in the wildernesse and grieve him in the desert 40 How oftentimes did they provoke him in the wildernesse And in the Desert also him grieve by their wickednesse 41 Yea they turned back and tempted God and limited the holy one of Israel 41 Yea to their sins they turned back and tempted God anone And of Isra'l they limited him that 's the Holy One. 42 They remembred not his 〈◊〉 nor the day when he delivered them from the enemie 42 They did not his almighty hand remember thankfully Nor yet the day that he them all sav'd from the enemy 43 How he had wrought his signes in Egypt and his wonders in the field of Zoan 43 How that he did within the land of Egypt also yeeld To work his signes and wonders great within the Zoan field 44 And had turned their rivers into bloud and their flouds that they could not drink 44 And how he had their rivers all thus turned into blood And that they could not drink he did likewise with ev'ry flood 45 He sent diverse sorts of flies among them which devoured them and frogs which destroyed them 45 He diverse sorts of flies did send among them to devore And frogs which did upon them there bring a destruction sore 46 He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar and their labour unto the locust 46 Unto the caterpillar then their increase for to have And to the locust for to eat their labour al 's he gave 47 He destroyed their vines with hail and their Sycomore-trees with frost 48 He gave up their cattell also to the hail and their flocks to hot thunderbolts 47 Their vines with hail their sycomores he did destroy with frost 48 Their beasts to hail he gave their flocks hote thunder bolts did rost 49 He cast upon them the fiercenesse of his anger wrath and indignation and trouble by sending evill angels among them 49 Fierce anger wrath he on them cast and indignation strong And troubles al 's by sending then ill angels them among 50 He made a way to his anger he spared not their soul from death but gave their life over to the pestilence 50 He to his wrath made way he not from death
their soul did spare But he unto the pestilence their life gave over there 51 And smote all the first born in Egypt the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham 51 And he in Egypt land did smite the first born all that came The chief of all their strength that were within the tents of Ham. 52 But made his own people to goe forth like sheep and guided them in the wildernesse like a flock 52 But his own people like to sheep he did make forth to go And like a flock in wildernesse he them all guided so 53 And he led them on safely so that they feared not but the sea overwhelmed their enemies 53 And he them safely on did lead so was no fear in them But these that were their enemies the sea did overwhelm 54 And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary even to this mountain which his right hand had purchased 54 And he of his own Sanctuarie them to the border led Ev'n to â—…his holy mountain which his right hand purchased 55 He cast out the heathen also before them and divided them an inheritance by line and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents 55 Before them heathens he cast out by line them did divide An heritage and Israels Tribes made in their tents abide 56 Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God and kept not his testimonies 56 Yet did they tempt the Lord most high and him provoked still His Testimonies that he gave to keep they had no will 57 But turned back and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers they were turned aside like a deceitfull bow 57 But like their fathers turned back and dealt unfaithfully They like a bow were turn'd aside that shoots deceitfully 58 For they provoked him to anger with their high place and moved him to jealousie with their graven images 58 For unto anger they provokt him with their places hie And with their graven images him mov'd to jealousie 59 When God heard this he was wroth and greatly abhorred Israel 60 So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh the tent which he placed among men 59 When God this heard he greatly wroth abhorred Israel then 60 So that he Shilo's tent forsook the tent he plac'd with men 61 And delivered his strength into captivity and his glory into the enemies hand 61 And he his strength delivered into captivity And he his glory gave into the hand of th' enemie 62 He gave his people over also unto the sword and was wroth with his inheritance 62 He over his own people then did give the sword unto And he with his inheritance was very wroth also 63 The fire consumed their young men and their maidens were not given to marriage 64 Their Priests fell by the sword and their widows made no lamentation 63 The fire their young men did consume their maids no mariage had 64 Their priests did fall then by the sword their wives no mourning made 65 Then the Lord awaked as one out of â—…p and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine 65 Then as one out of sleep the Lord did to awake incline And like a mighty man that shouts by reason of his wine 66 And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts he put them to a perpetuall reproach 66 And he then in the hinder parts did smite his en'mieâ—… all Unto reproach he did them put that was perpetuall 67 Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Ioseph and chose not the tribe of Ephraim 68 But â—…hose the tribe of Iudah the mount Sion which he loved 67 He Josephs tent refusd and he not Ephraims tribe approv'd 68 But he of Judah chose the tribe mount Sion which he lov'd 69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces like the earth which he hath established for ever 69 Like palaces he builded high his Sanctuarie to be Like to the earth for evermore which stablished hath he 70 He chose David also his servant and took him from the sheep-folds 70 Of David that his servant was he also choise did make And he him from the folds of sheep did by his favour take 71 From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Iacob his people and Israel his inheritance 71 Him from ews folowing great with young to feed he did advance His people Jacob and Isra'l his own inheritance 72 So hee fed them according to the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skilfulnesse of his hanâ—…s 72 So he them fed according to his hearts integritie By of his hands the skilfullnesse them also guided he PSAL. LXXIX O God the heathen are come into thine inheritance thy holy temple have they desiled they have laid Ierusalem on heaps LOrd heathens take thine heritage desiled is by them Thy holy temple they on heaps have laid Jerusalem 2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth 2 The bodies of thy servants dead they have giv'n to be meat To fowls of heav'n flesh of thy saints to beasts on earth to eat 3 Their bloud have they shed like water round about Ierusalem and there was none to bury them 3 Their blood like water shed they have about Jerusalem And then there was not one at all there for to bury them 4 We are become a reproach to our neighbours a scorn and derision to them that are round about us 4 Unto our neighbours a reproach at last become are we A scorn derision unto them that round about us be 5 How long Lord wilt thou be angry for ever shall thy jealousie burn like fire 5 How long wilt thou be angry Lord for ever shall this â—…e Shall even like unto a fire thus burn thy jealousie 6 Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee and upon the kingdomeâ—… that have not called upon thy Name 6 Thy wrath out on the heathen powr that never have thee known And on the kingdomes that thy Name not called have upon 7 For they have devoured Iacob and laid laid waste his dwelling place 7 For those are they of Jacob that devoured have the race And they have caused for to be laid wast his dwelling place 8 O remember not against us former iniquities let thy â—…ender mercies speedily prevent us for we are brought very low 8 Against us mâ—…de not former sins thy tender mercies now Let them prevent us speedily for we 're brought very low 9 Help us O God of our salvation for the glory of thy Name and deliver us and purge away our sins for thy Names lake 9 O God our saviour to us help for thy Names glory make Deliver purge away our sins ev'n for thine own Names sake 10 Wherefore should the heathen say Where is their God let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the bloud of
