such_o a_o manner_n as_o he_o describe_v it_o to_o be_v a_o idea_n frame_v out_o of_o his_o own_o brain_n and_o reject_v it_o as_o we_o do_v epicurus_n atom_n we_o desire_v he_o then_o to_o declare_v unto_o we_o who_o be_v the_o framer_n of_o his_o chaos_n for_o he_o do_v not_o plain_o express_v whether_o he_o think_v his_o chaos_n be_v the_o workmanship_n of_o god_n or_o no_o or_o when_o it_o have_v beginning_n and_o if_o he_o say_v that_o god_n create_v it_o methinks_v he_o shall_v have_v think_v such_o a_o rude_a confuse_a chaos_n far_o more_o improper_a and_o unbecoming_a god_n perfection_n than_o this_o rude_a world_n we_o live_v in_o but_o he_o find_v fault_n with_o as_o unbecoming_a the_o perfection_n of_o god_n for_o god_n doubtless_o can_v as_o easy_o have_v make_v the_o heaven_n and_o the_o earth_n in_o a_o perfect_a form_n as_o leave_v they_o to_o his_o chaos_n to_o produce_v i_o see_v he_o be_v strange_o in_o love_n with_o nature_n and_o natural_a production_n and_o god_n must_v produce_v only_o a_o rude_a fluid_fw-la mass_n and_o from_o thence_o nature_n must_v work_v it_o out_o in_o her_o orderly_a way_n into_o delicate_a heaven_n and_o earth_n 5._o but_o where_o do_v he_o find_v that_o god_n create_v this_o chaos_n he_o say_v moses_n mention_n it_o in_o his_o description_n of_o the_o creation_n let_v we_o then_o look_v into_o time_n as_o i_o say_v before_o so_o that_o this_o be_v whole_o contrary_a to_o moses_n description_n which_o say_v both_o heaven_n and_o earth_n be_v create_v the_o first_o day_n firm_a solid_a what_o the_o business_n of_o st._n peter_n be_v in_o this_o second_o epistle_n it_o be_v not_o a_o philosophical_a discourse_n to_o teach_v we_o the_o nature_n and_o constitution_n of_o the_o heaven_n or_o the_o earth_n but_o to_o teach_v wicked_a man_n the_o nature_n of_o sin_n and_o to_o show_v they_o the_o judgement_n and_o danger_n that_o constant_o follow_v it_o this_o be_v the_o business_n of_o this_o epistle_n and_o therefore_o he_o bring_v several_a example_n of_o fearful_a judgement_n that_o befall_v wicked_a man_n for_o their_o obstinacy_n in_o sin_n and_o his_o design_n be_v to_o deluge_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v the_o change_n in_o the_o old_a world_n that_o they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o this_o man_n will_v not_o attend_v to_o what_o st._n peter_n say_v when_o it_o do_v from_o moses_n both_o the_o creation_n and_o the_o deluge_n xi_o three_o he_o say_v st._n peter_n take_v his_o argument_n from_o the_o conflagration_n which_o be_v a_o real_a destruction_n of_o the_o world_n and_o from_o thence_o must_v infer_v the_o destruction_n of_o the_o old_a world_n i_o say_v st._n peter_n do_v not_o take_v his_o argument_n from_o the_o destruction_n of_o the_o heaven_n seem_v not_o full_o resolve_v whether_o they_o be_v produce_v all_o at_o one_o stroke_n or_o no_o as_o he_o phrase_n it_o that_o be_v all_o at_o their_o full_a growth_n but_o seem_v rather_o to_o believe_v that_o the_o earth_n of_o itself_o spawn_v they_o forth_o in_o their_o first_o seed_n and_o that_o in_o time_n they_o grow_v up_o to_o more_o strength_n and_o perfection_n here_o he_o mention_n not_o 〈◊〉_d all_o god_n command_v impower_v the_o earth_n to_o produce_v they_o that_o be_v contrary_a to_o his_o course_n who_o will_v needs_o have_v nature_n alone_a act_n in_o all_o thing_n and_o true_o for_o my_o part_n i_o have_v not_o faith_n enough_o to_o believe_v that_o his_o fine_a fat_a oily_a earth_n ever_o so_o fat_a be_v able_a to_o produce_v creature_n of_o itself_o alone_o and_o as_o far_o as_o my_o old_a head_n can_v remember_v i_o take_v it_o to_o be_v against_o philosophy_n also_o that_o vegetate_v power_n alone_o can_v produce_v animal_n and_o i_o shall_v wonder_v much_o to_o see_v a_o horse_n grow_v out_o of_o a_o tree_n or_o the_o earth_n but_o let_v it_o be_v his_o earth_n produce_v animal_n if_o then_o the_o earth_n natural_o of_o itself_o produce_v these_o various_a creature_n methinks_v the_o same_o earth_n have_v the_o same_o principle_n of_o life_n in_o it_o shall_v still_o have_v go_v on_o to_o produce_v more_o and_o more_o creature_n till_o at_o length_n the_o whole_a earth_n shall_v be_v cover_v by_o they_o but_o i_o leave_v he_o to_o confider_v more_o of_o this_o matter_n vii_o we_o will_v rather_o hearken_v to_o moses_n who_o plain_o tell_v we_o that_o both_o the_o earth_n and_o the_o water_n produce_v these_o creature_n by_o god_n special_a command_n and_o when_o his_o command_n cease_v their_o production_n also_o cease_v and_o far_o tell_v we_o god_n command_v the_o sea_n to_o produce_v all_o sort_n of_o fish_n among_o other_o the_o great_a whale_n do_v all_o these_o swim_v up_o and_o down_o in_o his_o upward_o it_o settle_v in_o all_o these_o distinct_a body_n of_o earth_n water_n oil_n air_n fire_n and_o the_o heaven_n above_o which_o he_o never_o tell_v we_o yet_o what_o they_o be_v make_v of_o
