reward_v those_o that_o fear_v he_o for_o all_o their_o misery_n in_o this_o life_n and_o if_o god_n inflict_v as_o he_o do_v the_o same_o calamnity_n now_o under_o the_o gospel_n as_o he_o do_v before_o under_o the_o law_n yet_o it_o be_v in_o a_o different_a manner_n in_o the_o church_n majority_n from_o what_o it_o be_v in_o her_o minority_n and_o that_o though_o the_o former_a dispensation_n be_v in_o wrath_n yet_o now_o it_o be_v in_o grace_n and_o be_v always_o just_a well_o let_v the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o earth_n work_v righteousness_n as_o well_o as_o they_o can_v and_o trust_v god_n for_o his_o mercy_n and_o through_o the_o tender_a mercy_n of_o god_n they_o shall_v be_v sure_a never_o to_o miscarry_v i_o be_o certain_a grace_n be_v grace_n and_o above_o wrath_n though_o i_o suffer_v never_o so_o much_o and_o that_o god_n do_v not_o dodgenor_n lie_v upon_o the_o catch_n with_o mankind_n to_o destroy_v they_o but_o rather_o wait_v for_o their_o conversion_n to_o save_v they_o i_o will_v trust_v in_o god_n therefore_o though_o i_o be_o never_o able_a to_o understand_v the_o reason_n of_o his_o working_n from_o henceforth_o i_o will_v never_o go_v about_o to_o measure_v the_o depth_n of_o god_n providence_n by_o the_o shallowness_n of_o my_o comprehension_n i_o will_v be_v meditate_v and_o do_v good_a and_o leave_v all_o to_o god_n but_o it_o be_v high_a time_n to_o leave_v this_o dreadful_a subject_n of_o mis-representing_a god_n in_o his_o counsel_n so_o fatal_a to_o mankind_n gospel-dispensation_n gospel-dispensation_n let_v we_o see_v what_o other_o misunderstanding_n there_o be_v of_o god_n dispensation_n god_n be_v please_v suitable_o to_o the_o nonage_n of_o the_o church_n to_o address_v himself_o very_o much_o to_o the_o low_a faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o outward_a sense_n that_o be_v near_o to_o they_o and_o do_v most_o affect_v they_o therefore_o he_o ordain_v splendid_a type_n solemn_a service_n and_o many_o miracle_n as_o the_o pillar_n of_o a_o cloud_n and_o of_o fire_n the_o wall_n of_o water_n in_o the_o red_a sea_n the_o burn_a mount_n sinai_n the_o tabernacle_n and_o ray_n of_o glory_n visible_a therein_o the_o temple_n etc._n etc._n but_o they_o which_o look_v for_o any_o such_o apparent_a expression_n of_o divinity_n now_o mistake_v the_o genius_n of_o a_o gospel-dispensation_n to_o a_o church_n adult_n and_o capable_a of_o high_a administration_n all_o thing_n since_o christ_n come_n be_v manage_v in_o a_o sedate_n smooth_a and_o serene_a temper_n the_o mystery_n of_o the_o gospel_n come_v forth_o in_o plain_a and_o intelligible_a form_n of_o speech_n from_o mount_n zion_n without_o draw_v the_o soul_n into_o rapture_n and_o ecstasy_n of_o amazement_n god_n do_v not_o fright_v man_n into_o heaven_n by_o visible_a terror_n god_n expect_v now_o a_o reasonable_a service_n a_o judicious_a religion_n act_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o love_n and_o of_o a_o sound_a mind_n under_o the_o grace_n truth_n and_o glory_n of_o a_o gospel-state_n for_o ever_o to_o endure_v this_o spirit_n of_o the_o gospel_n arrive_v to_o our_o spirit_n in_o this_o aimable_fw-fr and_o win_a manner_n create_v a_o generous_a spirit_n above_o the_o evil_n or_o good_n in_o this_o world_n resolve_v to_o go_v through_o they_o and_o overcome_v they_o and_o settle_v upon_o absolute_a eternal_a goodness_n when_o man_n hope_n and_o fortune_n be_v most_o embark_v in_o the_o ship_n of_o this_o world_n without_o faith_n they_o be_v in_o continual_a fear_n of_o shipwreck_n because_o then_o all_o be_v lose_v that_o be_v before_o their_o sense_n but_o when_o man_n hope_n and_o fortune_n be_v all_o embark_v in_o one_o bottom_n of_o divine_a faith_n they_o be_v in_o continual_a hope_n and_o assurance_n of_o arrival_n in_o the_o haven_n of_o glory_n because_o then_o all_o be_v find_v that_o be_v before_o their_o spirit_n in_o the_o eye_n of_o faith_n this_o hope_n so_o full_a of_o glorious_a and_o bless_a immortality_n have_v support_v the_o spirit_n of_o such_o as_o live_v by_o their_o faith_n better_a than_o all_o the_o fatality_n of_o the_o stoic_n or_o the_o jollity_n of_o the_o epicurean_o these_o can_v look_v sin_n and_o death_n in_o the_o face_n by_o the_o spirit_n and_o not_o be_v daunt_v by_o the_o flesh_n the_o high_a religion_n of_o the_o gospel_n teach_v high_a thing_n than_o ever_o that_o of_o moses_n or_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n or_o nation_n or_o philosophy_n can_v do_v reformation_n reformation_n this_o great_a reformation_n of_o religion_n in_o the_o world_n christ_n declare_v plain_o to_o the_o woman_n of_o samaria_n require_v of_o he_o as_o a_o prophet_n to_o tell_v she_o the_o place_n of_o worship_n whether_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v upon_o mount_n gerizim_n in_o samaria_n where_o the_o father_n have_v worship_v and_o not_o in_o jerusalem_n as_o the_o jew_n believe_v upon_o this_o occasion_n he_o tell_v she_o that_o neither_o she_o nor_o the_o samaritan_n her_o countryman_n nor_o the_o jew_n nor_o yet_o the_o gentile_n of_o the_o world_n shall_v from_o that_o time_n ever_o trouble_v themselves_o about_o the_o place_n or_o manner_n of_o divine_a worship_n for_o it_o shall_v be_v neither_o confine_v to_o samaria_n nor_o judea_n but_o shall_v
