people_n to_o receive_v the_o lord_n christ_n and_o what_o be_v his_o ministry_n but_o the_o baptism_n of_o repentance_n and_o that_o repentance_n be_v a_o preparation_n to_o faith_n or_o to_o the_o justification_n of_o a_o sinner_n and_o must_v of_o necessity_n be_v before_o that_o faith_n that_o justify_v and_o give_v assurance_n of_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n and_o peace_n and_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n be_v manifest_a but_o because_o it_o be_v deny_v by_o many_o in_o these_o day_n i_o will_v give_v you_o a_o few_o reason_n for_o the_o proof_n thereof_o but_o first_o lest_o i_o shall_v be_v mistake_v i_o will_v set_v down_o in_o a_o short_a definition_n what_o true_a repentance_n be_v a_o thing_n altogether_o omit_v by_o this_o author_n neither_o have_v he_o tell_v we_o what_o regeneration_n be_v nor_o whereof_o it_o consist_v which_o be_v the_o main_a thing_n that_o tend_v to_o the_o make_n of_o a_o christian_a and_o true_a believer_n i_o say_v that_o repentance_n may_v be_v thus_o brief_o and_o true_o define_v repentance_n be_v a_o powerful_a work_n of_o god_n spirit_n wrought_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o such_o as_o shall_v be_v save_v whereby_o a_o exceed_a desire_n of_o pardon_n peace_n and_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n luke_n 15._o you_o may_v see_v all_o the_o part_n of_o repentance_n in_o the_o prodigal_a son_n and_o let_v the_o author_n take_v notice_n that_o it_o be_v a_o work_n of_o god_n spirit_n it_o be_v no_o money_n of_o our_o own_o this_o repentance_n here_o lay_v down_o be_v a_o work_n of_o the_o gospel_n yea_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o gospel_n mark_v 1.1_o it_o be_v no_o legal_a work_n wrought_v by_o the_o law_n for_o i_o know_v neither_o legal_a repentance_n nor_o legal_a faith_n which_o some_o man_n talk_v of_o very_a much_o i_o know_v the_o law_n of_o the_o ten_o commandment_n admit_v of_o no_o repentance_n neither_o do_v it_o receive_v faith_n in_o christ_n and_o now_o i_o come_v to_o the_o reason_n to_o prove_v that_o god_n do_v always_o work_v repentance_n in_o they_o who_o he_o have_v a_o purpose_n to_o save_v for_o ever_o before_o he_o bestow_v on_o they_o that_o faith_n which_o do_v justify_v or_o assure_v they_o of_o the_o pardon_n of_o their_o sin_n in_o the_o blood_n of_o jesus_n christ_n first_o reason_n be_v from_o the_o constant_a and_o unchangeable_a order_n the_o holy_a ghost_n have_v observe_v throughout_o the_o scripture_n in_o require_v repentance_n and_o faith_n always_o require_v repentance_n in_o the_o first_o place_n mark_v 1.15_o math._n 3.2_o luke_n 3.3_o acts._n 2.38_o and_o the_o 3.19_o so_o that_o i_o infer_v hence_o the_o holy_a ghost_n always_o require_v it_o in_o the_o first_o place_n it_o be_v that_o work_n which_o he_o please_v first_o to_o work_v second_o reason_n because_o until_o we_o have_v true_a repentance_n wrought_v in_o we_o we_o have_v no_o right_n unto_o any_o special_a promise_n for_o the_o special_a promise_n of_o grace_n &_o
