matter_n by_o a_o distinction_n that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o earthly_a matter_n and_o the_o heavenly_a matter_n mean_v the_o sign_n and_o the_o thing_n signify_v and_o therefore_o they_o teach_v that_o it_o behoove_v those_o which_o come_v unto_o the_o lord_n supper_n to_o think_v that_o there_o they_o shall_v receive_v two_o thing_n to_o wit_n a_o earthly_a thing_n after_o a_o earthly_a manner_n that_o be_v bread_n and_o wine_n with_o the_o mouth_n of_o the_o body_n and_o a_o heavenly_a thing_n after_o a_o heavenly_a manner_n that_o be_v christ_n jesus_n by_o faith_n 4_o if_o you_o shall_v say_v brief_o christ_n be_v the_o matter_n of_o a_o sacrament_n it_o be_v sound_a doctrine_n and_o indeed_o it_o be_v useful_a for_o these_o two_o purpose_n 1._o to_o try_v all_o false_a and_o spurious_a sacrament_n for_o such_o they_o be_v all_o where_o he_o be_v not_o find_v to_o be_v the_o matter_n by_o which_o rule_n if_o five_o of_o the_o pope_n seven_o sacrament_n be_v try_v they_o will_v be_v find_v too_o light_a 2._o to_o try_v all_o true_a receiver_n for_o thou_o may_v receive_v the_o matter_n of_o the_o sacrament_n and_o yet_o not_o receive_v the_o matter_n the_o bread_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o not_o the_o bread_n the_o lord_n the_o outward_a but_o not_o the_o inward_a matter_n in_o a_o word_n when_o christ_n do_v deliver_v to_o his_o disciple_n the_o bread_n and_o say_v this_o be_v my_o body_n and_o when_o we_o in_o his_o stead_n do_v the_o like_a to_o you_o it_o be_v such_o a_o speech_n as_o if_o a_o prince_n shall_v when_o he_o have_v give_v one_o a_o fair_a manor_n bring_v he_o the_o grant_n or_o letter_n patent_n thereof_o and_o say_v unto_o he_o loe_o there_o be_v your_o manor_n etc._n etc._n which_o serve_v for_o the_o understanding_n of_o the_o word_n we_o speak_v to_o you_o in_o the_o delivery_n of_o the_o matter_n of_o the_o sacrament_n qu._n what_o be_v the_o form_n of_o the_o sacrament_n an._n of_o this_o also_o you_o shall_v hear_v what_o be_v teach_v of_o old_a 1._o they_o say_v that_o the_o form_n of_o the_o sacrament_n be_v those_o rite_n ceremony_n or_o usage_n in_o the_o sacrament_n which_o be_v agreeable_a to_o god_n word_n and_o so_o to_o primitive_a institution_n hence_o that_o assertion_n be_v among_o the_o schoolman_n that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v the_o form_n and_o soul_n of_o a_o sacrament_n from_o which_o two_o thing_n be_v conclude_v 1._o that_o the_o word_n of_o our_o lord_n in_o the_o institution_n ought_v only_o to_o be_v use_v without_o any_o addition_n or_o diminution_n 2._o and_o that_o therefore_o it_o ought_v so_o to_o be_v do_v because_o every_o receiver_n ought_v so_o to_o receive_v as_o if_o the_o lord_n christ_n himself_o be_v present_a to_o give_v the_o sacrament_n second_o they_o do_v distinguish_v of_o the_o form_n of_o the_o sacrament_n and_o true_o teach_v that_o this_o form_n of_o the_o holy_a sacrament_n be_v twofold_a first_o the_o manner_n of_o
