that_o persuasion_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v think_v to_o be_v enough_o to_o condemn_v transubstantiation_n and_o to_o say_v that_o christ_n be_v present_a after_o a_o spiritual_a manner_n and_o receive_v by_o faith_n and_o to_o say_v more_o as_o it_o be_v judge_v superfluous_a so_o it_o may_v occasion_v division_n upon_o this_o these_o word_n be_v by_o common_a consent_n leave_v out_o and_o in_o the_o next_o convocation_n the_o article_n be_v subscribe_v without_o they_o this_o show_v that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n then_o subscribe_v by_o the_o whole_a convocation_n be_v at_o that_o time_n contrary_a to_o the_o belief_n of_o a_o real_a and_o corporal_a presence_n in_o the_o sacrament_n only_o it_o be_v not_o think_v necessary_a or_o expedient_a to_o publish_v it_o though_o from_o this_o silence_n which_o flow_v not_o from_o their_o opinion_n but_o the_o wisdom_n of_o that_o time_n in_o leave_v a_o liberty_n for_o different_a speculation_n as_o to_o the_o manner_n of_o the_o presence_n some_o have_v since_o infer_v that_o the_o chief_a pastor_n of_o this_o church_n do_v then_o disapprove_v of_o the_o definition_n make_v in_o king_n edward_n be_v time_n and_o that_o they_o be_v for_o a_o real_a presence_n and_o that_o our_o protestant_a bishop_n that_o be_v martyr_v in_o queen_n mary_n day_n be_v against_o this_o expression_n of_o a_o real_a presence_n of_o christ_n as_o a_o natural_a body_n appear_v by_o those_o question_n which_o they_o dispute_v on_o solemn_o at_o oxford_n before_o their_o martyrdom_n the_o first_o question_n whether_o the_o natural_a body_n of_o christ_n be_v real_o in_o the_o sacrament_n the_o second_o whether_o no_o other_o substance_n do_v remain_v but_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n both_o which_o they_o hold_v in_o the_o negative_a so_o that_o since_o this_o expression_n of_o a_o real_a presence_n of_o christ_n body_n be_v not_o maintain_v by_o our_o first_o protestant_a reformer_n nor_o use_v by_o the_o church_n of_o england_n in_o her_o article_n i_o do_v not_o see_v of_o what_o use_v it_o can_v be_v now_o though_o perhaps_o only_o mean_v in_o a_o spiritual_a sense_n by_o most_o that_o make_v use_n of_o it_o for_o the_o real_a presence_n of_o a_o body_n and_o yet_o unbodily_a i_o suppose_v those_o that_o speak_v thus_o understand_v as_o little_a as_o i_o do_v unless_o that_o some_o man_n love_v to_o come_v as_o near_o the_o papist_n as_o may_v be_v in_o their_o expression_n though_o without_o any_o hope_n now_o of_o ever_o make_v they_o approach_v the_o near_a to_o we_o and_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n give_v matter_n of_o offence_n and_o scandal_n to_o divers_a ignorant_a and_o weak_a christian_n of_o our_o own_o religion_n the_o five_o point_n that_o the_o doctor_n tax_v the_o lord_n primate_n with_o as_o hold_v by_o he_o contrary_a to_o the_o church_n of_o england_n be_v that_o she_o teach_v that_o the_o priest_n have_v power_n to_o forgive_v sin_n as_o may_v be_v easy_o prove_v by_o three_o several_a argument_n not_o very_o easy_a to_o be_v answer_v the_o first_o be_v from_o those_o solemn_a word_n use_v in_o the_o ordination_n of_o the_o priest_n or_o presbyter_n that_o be_v to_o say_v receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n who_o sin_n you_o forgive_v they_o be_v forgive_v and_o who_o sin_n you_o retain_v they_o be_v retain_v which_o be_v a_o gross_a profanation_n of_o the_o word_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n and_o a_o mere_a mockery_n of_o the_o priest_n if_o no_o such_o power_n be_v give_v unto_o he_o as_o be_v there_o affirm_v the_o second_o argument_n be_v take_v from_o one_o of_o the_o exhortation_n before_o the_o communion_n where_o we_o find_v the_o people_n be_v exhort_v by_o the_o priest_n that_o if_o they_o can_v quiet_v their_o conscience_n they_o shall_v come_v unto_o he_o or_o some_o other_o discreet_a minister_n of_o god_n word_n and_o open_v their_o grief_n that_o they_o may_v receive_v such_o ghostly_a advice_n and_o comfort_n as_o their_o conscience_n may_v be_v relieve_v and_o that_o by_o the_o ministry_n of_o god_n word_n they_o may_v receive_v comfort_n and_o the_o benefit_n of_o absolution_n to_o the_o quiet_v of_o their_o conscience_n and_o avoid_v of_o all_o scruple_n and_o doubtfulness_n the_o three_o and_o most_o material_a proof_n be_v the_o form_n prescribe_v for_o the_o visitation_n of_o the_o sick_a in_o which_o it_o be_v require_v that_o after_o the_o sick_a person_n have_v make_v a_o confession_n of_o his_o faith_n and_o profess_v himself_o to_o be_v in_o charity_n with_o all_o man_n he_o shall_v then_o make_v a_o special_a confession_n if_o he_o feel_v his_o conscience_n trouble_v with_o any_o weighty_a matter_n and_o then_o it_o follow_v that_o after_o such_o confession_n the_o minister_n shall_v absolve_v he_o in_o this_o manner_n viz._n our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n who_o have_v leave_v power_n to_o his_o church_n to_o absolve_v all_o sinner_n that_o true_o repent_v and_o believe_v in_o he_o of_o his_o great_a mercy_n forgive_v thou_o thy_o offence_n and_o by_o his_o authority_n commit_v to_o i_o i_o absolve_v thou_o from_o all_o thy_o sin_n in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n and_o of_o the_o son_n and_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n amen_n of_o the_o first_o of_o these_o three_o place_n deduce_v all_o of_o they_o from_o the_o best_a monument_n and_o record_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n the_o lord_n primate_n take_v notice_n in_o his_o answer_n to_o the_o jesuit_n challenge_v p._n 109._o where_o he_o treat_v purposely_o of_o the_o priest_n power_n to_o forgive_v sin_n but_o give_v we_o such_o a_o gloss_n upon_o it_o as_o utter_o subvert_v as_o well_o the_o doctrine_n of_o this_o church_n in_o that_o particular_a as_o her_o purpose_n in_o it_o and_o of_o the_o second_o he_o take_v notice_n p._n 81._o where_o he_o speak_v purposely_o of_o confession_n but_o give_v we_o such_o a_o gloss_n upon_o that_o also_o as_o he_o do_v upon_o the_o other_o but_o of_o the_o three_o which_o be_v more_o positive_a and_o material_a than_o the_o other_o two_o he_o be_v not_o please_v to_o take_v any_o notice_n at_o all_o as_o if_o no_o such_o doctrine_n be_v either_o teach_v by_o the_o church_n of_o england_n or_o no_o such_o power_n have_v be_v ever_o exercise_v by_o the_o minister_n of_o it_o for_o in_o the_o canvas_n of_o this_o point_n he_o declare_v sometime_o that_o the_o priest_n do_v forgive_v sin_n only_o declarative_a by_o the_o way_n of_o declaration_n only_o when_o on_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o true_a faith_n and_o sincere_a repentance_n of_o the_o party_n penitent_a he_o do_v declare_v unto_o he_o in_o the_o name_n of_o god_n that_o his_o sin_n be_v pardon_v and_o sometime_o that_o the_o priest_n forgive_v sin_n only_o optatiuè_fw-la by_o the_o way_n of_o prayer_n and_o intercession_n when_o on_o the_o like_a consideration_n he_o make_v his_o prayer_n unto_o god_n that_o the_o sin_n of_o the_o penitent_n may_v be_v pardon_v neither_o of_o which_o come_v up_o unto_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n which_o hold_v that_o the_o priest_n forgive_v sin_n authoritatiuè_fw-la by_o virtue_n of_o a_o power_n commit_v to_o he_o by_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n that_o the_o supreme_a power_n of_o forgive_a sin_n be_v in_o god_n alone_o against_o who_o divine_a majesty_n all_o sin_n of_o what_o sort_n soever_o may_v be_v true_o say_v to_o be_v commit_v be_v never_o question_v by_o any_o who_o pretend_v to_o the_o christian_a faith_n the_o power_n which_o be_v give_v to_o the_o priest_n be_v but_o a_o delegated_a power_n such_o as_o be_v exercise_v by_o judge_n under_o sovereign_a prince_n where_o they_o be_v not_o tie_v unto_o the_o verdict_n of_o twelve_o man_n as_o with_o we_o in_o england_n who_o by_o the_o power_n commit_v to_o they_o in_o their_o several_a circuit_n and_o division_n do_v actual_o absolve_v the_o party_n which_o be_v bring_v before_o they_o if_o on_o good_a proof_n they_o find_v he_o innocent_a of_o the_o crime_n he_o stand_v accuse_v for_o and_o so_o discharge_v he_o of_o his_o iron_n and_o such_o a_o power_n as_o this_o i_o say_v be_v both_o give_v to_o and_o exercise_v by_o the_o priest_n or_o presbyter_n in_o the_o church_n of_o england_n for_o if_o they_o do_v forgive_v sin_n only_o declaratiuè_fw-la that_o form_n of_o absolution_n which_o follow_v the_o general_a confession_n in_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o common-prayer-book_n will_v have_v be_v sufficient_a where_o the_o absolution_n be_v put_v in_o the_o three_o person_n or_o if_o he_o do_v forgive_v sin_n only_o optatiuè_fw-la in_o the_o way_n of_o prayer_n and_o intercession_n there_o can_v not_o be_v a_o better_a way_n of_o absolution_n than_o that_o which_o be_v prescribe_v to_o be_v use_v by_o the_o priest_n or_o bishop_n after_o the_o general_a confession_n make_v by_o such_o as_o
letter_n there_o have_v happen_v the_o most_o doleful_a dissolve_v of_o our_o university_n and_o the_o most_o sudden_a dispersion_n of_o our_o student_n that_o ever_o i_o know_v occasion_v by_o the_o infection_n bring_v hither_o by_o a_o soldier_n or_o two_o dismiss_v not_o long_o since_o from_o the_o king_n of_o sweden_n army_n in_o february_n last_o so_o as_o whereas_o this_o time_n be_v our_o chief_a time_n of_o the_o year_n for_o act_n and_o disputation_n now_o our_o school-gate_n be_v shut_v up_o and_o our_o college_n leave_v desolate_a and_o empty_a almost_o there_o have_v die_v of_o this_o infection_n from_o the_o last_o of_o february_n till_o the_o 24_o of_o april_n 24_o person_n and_o since_o then_o till_o may_v 15_o 30_o more_o and_o 7_o more_o the_o magistrate_n be_v careful_a but_o the_o charge_n grow_v great_a both_o in_o maintain_v the_o infect_v and_o the_o poor_a among_o all_o we_o which_o want_v both_o mean_n and_o work_n i_o pray_v god_n we_o may_v be_v sensible_a of_o our_o sin_n and_o his_o heavy_a hand_n and_o may_v by_o serious_a repentance_n meet_v he_o that_o so_o he_o may_v forgive_v our_o sin_n and_o heal_v our_o town_n and_o land_n i_o receive_v in_o your_o lordship_n letter_n the_o copy_n of_o sir_n john_n breerton_n will_n enclose_v sign_v with_o your_o grace_n hand_n for_o which_o in_o the_o name_n of_o our_o whole_a society_n i_o humble_o thank_v your_o lordship_n it_o seem_v the_o inventory_n be_v not_o yet_o put_v in_o i_o receive_v also_o by_o mr._n stubbin_n a_o letter_n from_o mr._n randal-breerton_a sole_a executor_n to_o sir_n john_n his_o brother_n who_o at_o his_o come_n into_o england_n from_o you_o promise_v i_o to_o acquaint_v the_o college_n with_o the_o particularity_n of_o his_o brother_n bequest_n i_o have_v hear_v mr._n randal_n very_o well_o report_v of_o and_o i_o hope_v very_o he_o will_v faithful_o discharge_v the_o trust_v repose_v in_o he_o by_o his_o decease_a brother_n i_o will_v still_o entreat_v your_o lordship_n when_o the_o inventory_n be_v exhibit_v for_o a_o copy_n to_o be_v send_v we_o if_o my_o leisure_n permit_v i_o will_v hearken_v god_n will_v to_o your_o lordship_n motion_n of_o revise_v my_o lecture_n of_o grace_n and_o freewill_n in_o my_o proceed_n in_o my_o readins_n i_o acquaint_v your_o lordship_n former_o with_o some_o opposition_n i_o have_v from_o some_o in_o our_o university_n under_o pretence_n of_o violate_v his_o majesty_n declaration_n which_o i_o say_v i_o do_v not_o and_o so_o as_o yet_o i_o have_v continue_v in_o read_v on_o that_o argument_n though_o not_o in_o name_v the_o author_n remonstrants'_v who_o i_o impugn_v if_o god_n give_v opportunity_n and_o health_n i_o will_v do_v the_o like_a in_o my_o readins_n upon_o the_o other_o readins_n of_o his_o i_o suppose_v your_o lordship_n have_v hear_v of_o my_o lord_n of_o sarum_n how_o he_o be_v question_v for_o his_o sermon_n before_o his_o majesty_n in_o the_o begin_n of_o lent_n last_o the_o particular_n whereof_o you_o shall_v more_o full_o understand_v by_o the_o enclose_a parcel_n of_o a_o letter_n he_o write_v to_o i_o i_o be_o right_a sorry_a the_o delivery_n of_o the_o establish_a doctrine_n of_o our_o church_n shall_v thus_o be_v question_v i_o have_v vindicate_v my_o reason_n i_o send_v one_o in_o our_o university_n touch_v the_o 17_o article_n from_o such_o answer_n as_o he_o have_v return_v i_o as_o also_o sundry_a testimony_n of_o st._n augustine_n from_o the_o like_a opposition_n which_o i_o send_v the_o same_o party_n tend_v to_o show_v that_o according_a to_o st._n augustine_n the_o non-elect_a never_o come_v to_o be_v justify_v by_o a_o true_a and_o lively_a faith_n nor_o ever_o be_v by_o that_o bond_n mystical_o unite_v to_o christ_n as_o their_o head_n nor_o ever_o attain_v unto_o true_a repentance_n etc._n etc._n it_o be_v worthy_o do_v of_o your_o lordship_n to_o set_v forth_o marianus_n scotus_n emendatê_n and_o his_o abridger_n who_o as_o it_o seem_v abridge_v his_o work_n in_o marianus_n life-time_n for_o marianus_n die_v but_o a_o little_a before_o rob._n lotharingus_fw-la as_o touch_v the_o history_n of_o revise_v his_o story_n touch_v he_o i_o make_v no_o doubt_n but_o that_o the_o semipelagian_n &_o massilienses_n be_v the_o first_o insertor_n of_o the_o pradestinatiani_n into_o the_o catalogue_n of_o heretic_n and_o it_o may_v seem_v that_o arnobius_n jun_v who_o write_v upon_o the_o psalm_n be_v one_o of_o the_o first_o that_o impose_v the_o name_n of_o heresy_n upon_o the_o doctrine_n of_o to_o i_o probable_a that_o this_o arnobius_n live_v in_o st._n augustine_n time_n for_o that_o his_o commentary_n upon_o the_o psalm_n be_v ascribe_v to_o two_o african_a bishop_n laurentio_n &_o within_o this_o realm_n true_a it_o be_v that_o our_o lawyer_n in_o their_o year-book_n by_o the_o name_n of_o the_o apostle_n do_v usual_o design_v the_o pope_n but_o if_o they_o have_v examine_v only_o be_v to_o determine_v with_o the_o death_n of_o the_o first_o apostle_n for_o howsoever_o at_o their_o first_o entry_n into_o the_o execution_n of_o this_o commission_n we_o find_v that_o 26._o to_o move_v the_o apostle_n so_o to_o respect_v it_o see_v therefore_o the_o ground_n of_o this_o great_a claim_n of_o the_o bishop_n of_o rome_n appear_v to_o be_v so_o vain_a and_o frivolous_a i_o in_o the_o old_a covenant_n which_o st._n paul_n prove_v to_o be_v abrogate_a by_o the_o give_n of_o a_o new_a which_o be_v a_o good_a argument_n if_o the_o article_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n be_v as_o inconsistent_a with_o those_o of_o ireland_n as_o those_o two_o covenant_n be_v with_o each_o other_o but_o if_o they_o differ_v no_o more_o than_o the_o nicene_n do_v from_o the_o and_o shall_v xii_o say_v no_o more_o on_o this_o ungrateful_a subject_n but_o that_o it_o be_v high_o improbable_a that_o the_o lord_n primate_n shall_v be_v so_o outwitted_a by_o the_o lord_n deputy_n or_o his_o chaplain_n as_o the_o laud._n historian_n make_v he_o to_o have_v be_v in_o this_o affair_n but_o that_o he_o very_o well_o understand_v the_o article_n of_o both_o church_n and_o of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n more_o full_o or_o else_o he_o will_v never_o have_v be_v so_o easy_o persuade_v to_o a_o act_n which_o will_v amount_v to_o a_o repeal_n of_o those_o article_n which_o as_o have_v be_v already_o say_v he_o himself_o make_v and_o draw_v up_o and_o for_o a_o far_a proof_n that_o this_o be_v the_o sense_n not_o only_o of_o himself_o but_o of_o most_o of_o the_o of_o the_o clergy_n of_o that_o kingdom_n i_o suppose_v it_o be_v pure_o out_o of_o prudential_a consideration_n that_o any_o divine_a or_o other_o person_n of_o that_o

only_o suffer_v much_o by_o the_o rudeness_n of_o the_o rabble_n as_o have_v be_v already_o relate_v but_o also_o by_o a_o long_a and_o expensive_a sickness_n so_o they_o send_v he_o unknown_a to_o each_o other_o divers_a considerable_a sum_n so_o that_o he_o have_v in_o a_o few_o week_n enough_o to_o supply_v all_o his_o present_a occasion_n and_o also_o to_o defray_v the_o expense_n of_o his_o journey_n into_o england_n this_o the_o good_a bishop_n account_v a_o special_a providence_n and_o be_v very_o thankful_a for_o it_o and_o i_o think_v good_a to_o take_v notice_n of_o it_o that_o it_o may_v serve_v as_o a_o memorial_n of_o the_o high_a generosity_n and_o charity_n of_o the_o gentry_n of_o this_o country_n at_o that_o time_n so_o that_o consider_v all_o those_o forementioned_a in_o very_a deed_n by_o god_n faithful_a people_n by_o which_o it_o seem_v it_o be_v agree_v on_o both_o side_n that_o be_v to_o say_v the_o church_n of_o england_n and_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n that_o there_o be_v a_o true_a and_o real_a presence_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o holy_a eucharist_n the_o disagreement_n be_v only_o in_o the_o modus_fw-la praesentiae_fw-la but_o on_o the_o contrary_a the_o ld_n primate_n in_o his_o answer_n to_o the_o jesuit_n challenge_v have_v write_v one_o whole_a chapter_n against_o the_o real_a presence_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o sacrament_n in_o which_o though_o he_o will_v seem_v to_o aim_v at_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n though_o by_o that_o church_n not_o only_o the_o real_a presence_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o sacrament_n but_o the_o corporal_a eat_n of_o his_o body_n be_v maintain_v and_o teach_v yet_o do_v he_o strike_v oblique_o and_o on_o the_o by_o on_o the_o church_n of_o england_n all_o that_o he_o do_v allow_v concern_v the_o real_a presence_n be_v no_o more_o than_o this_o viz._n that_o in_o the_o receive_n of_o the_o bless_a sacrament_n we_o be_v to_o distinguish_v between_o the_o outward_a and_o the_o inward_a action_n of_o the_o communicant_a in_o the_o outward_a with_o our_o bodily_a mouth_n we_o receive_v real_o the_o visible_a element_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n in_o the_o inward_a we_o do_v by_o faith_n real_o receive_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o our_o lord_n that_o be_v to_o say_v we_o be_v true_o and_o indeed_o make_v partaker_n of_o christ_n crucify_v to_o the_o spiritual_a strengthen_n of_o our_o inward_a man_n which_o be_v no_o more_o than_o any_o calvinist_n will_v stick_v to_o say_v but_o now_o after_o all_o these_o hard_a word_n the_o doctor_n have_v here_o bestow_v upon_o my_o lord_n primate_n part_n of_o which_o i_o omit_v i_o think_v i_o can_v without_o much_o difficulty_n make_v it_o appear_v that_o all_o this_o grievous_a accusation_n of_o the_o doctor_n be_v be_v nothing_o but_o a_o mere_a 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d a_o strife_n about_o word_n and_o that_o the_o lord_n primate_n hold_v and_o believe_v this_o doctrine_n in_o the_o same_o sense_n with_o the_o church_n of_o england_n 1._o then_o the_o 29_o article_n of_o our_o church_n disavow_v all_o transubstantiation_n or_o the_o change_n of_o the_o substance_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n in_o the_o supper_n of_o the_o lord_n the_o second_o assert_n that_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n be_v give_v take_v and_o eat_v in_o the_o supper_n only_o after_o a_o heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a manner_n and_o that_o the_o mean_v whereby_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n be_v receive_v and_o eat_v in_o the_o supper_n be_v faith_n and_o now_o i_o will_v leave_v it_o to_o the_o unprejudiced_a reader_n to_o judge_v whether_o the_o lord_n primat_n way_n of_o explain_v this_o sacrament_n according_a to_o the_o passage_n before_o cite_v by_o the_o doctor_n do_v differ_v in_o sense_n from_o these_o article_n however_o it_o may_v somewhat_o in_o word_n as_o come_v near_o the_o article_n in_o ireland_n which_o the_o bishop_n when_o he_o write_v this_o book_n have_v alone_o subscribe_v to_o and_o be_v bind_v to_o maintain_v for_o i_o think_v no_o true_a son_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n will_v deny_v that_o in_o this_o sacrament_n they_o still_o real_o receive_v the_o visible_a element_n of_o bread_n and_o wine_n 2._o that_o in_o the_o inward_a and_o spiritual_a action_n we_o real_o receive_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o our_o lord_n as_o the_o lord_n primate_n have_v before_o lay_v down_o but_o perhaps_o it_o will_v be_v say_v that_o the_o lord_n primate_n go_v further_a in_o this_o article_n than_o the_o church_n of_o england_n do_v and_o take_v upon_o he_o to_o explain_v in_o what_o sense_n we_o receive_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o that_o otherwise_o than_o the_o church_n of_o england_n do_v he_o explain_v it_o thus_o that_o be_v to_o say_v we_o be_v true_o and_o indeed_o make_v partaker_n of_o christ_n crucify_v to_o the_o spiritual_a strengthen_n of_o our_o inward_a man_n whereas_o the_o church_n of_o england_n declare_v that_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n be_v eat_v only_o after_o a_o heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a manner_n yet_o still_o maintain_v the_o body_n of_o christ_n to_o be_v eat_v whereas_o the_o lord_n primate_n only_o say_v that_o we_o be_v true_o and_o indeed_o make_v partaker_n of_o christ_n crucify_v but_o do_v not_o say_v as_o the_o article_n of_o our_o church_n do_v that_o we_o be_v therein_o partaker_n of_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ._n but_o i_o desire_v the_o objector_n to_o consider_v whether_o the_o explanation_n of_o our_o church_n do_v not_o amount_v to_o the_o same_o thing_n in_o effect_n that_o say_v that_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n be_v eat_v in_o the_o supper_n after_o a_o heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a manner_n and_o the_o lord_n primate_n that_o we_o be_v true_o and_o indeed_o make_v partaker_n of_o christ_n crucify_v viz._n after_o a_o spiritual_a and_o not_o a_o carnal_a manner_n but_o perhaps_o the_o doctor_n be_v friend_n may_v still_o object_v that_o the_o lord_n primate_n do_v not_o express_v this_o real_a presence_n of_o christ_n body_n and_o blood_n in_o the_o sacrament_n as_o bp._n bilson_n and_o bp._n morton_n assert_v the_o former_a say_n that_o christ_n flesh_n and_o blood_n be_v true_o present_a and_o true_o receive_v by_o the_o faithful_a in_o the_o sacrament_n and_o the_o latter_a express_o own_v a_o real_a presence_n therein_o and_o bp._n andrews_n in_o his_o apology_n to_o cardinal_n bellarmine_n thus_o declare_v himself_o viz._n praesentiam_fw-la credimus_fw-la non_fw-la minus_fw-la quam_fw-la vos_fw-la veram_fw-la de_fw-la modo_fw-la praesentiae_fw-la nil_fw-la timerè_fw-la definimus_fw-la which_o the_o doctor_n render_v thus_o we_o acknowledge_v say_v he_o a_o presence_n as_o true_a and_o latin_n real_a as_o you_o do_v but_o we_o determine_v nothing_o rash_o of_o the_o manner_n of_o it_o and_o the_o church_n catechism_n above_o cite_v as_o also_o the_o latin_a catechism_n of_o mr._n noel_n confess_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o our_o lord_n be_v true_o and_o indeed_o or_o as_o the_o latin_a translation_n render_v it_o verè_fw-la &_o realiter_fw-la take_v and_o receive_v in_o the_o lord_n supper_n which_o the_o lord_n primate_n do_v not_o affirm_v i_o know_v not_o what_o such_o man_n will_v have_v the_o lord_n primate_n assert_n that_o we_o do_v by_o faith_n real_o receive_v the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n and_o that_o in_o the_o same_o sense_n with_o mr._n noel_n catechism_n and_o the_o article_n of_o the_o church_n viz._n that_o christ_n body_n be_v receive_v after_o a_o spiritual_a and_o heavenly_a manner_n which_o be_v add_v to_o exclude_v any_o real_a presence_n as_o take_v in_o a_o carnal_a or_o bodily_a sense_n so_o that_o our_o church_n do_v in_o this_o article_n explain_v the_o manner_n of_o the_o presence_n notwithstanding_o what_o bp._n andrews_n say_v to_o the_o contrary_n nor_o know_v i_o what_o they_o can_v here_o further_a mean_a by_o a_o real_a presence_n unless_o a_o carnal_a
