with_o he_o when_o he_o use_v his_o very_a word_n or_o at_o least_o his_o sense_n say_v that_o one_o necessary_a thing_n faith_n which_o be_v in_o jesus_n christ_n which_o be_v by_o the_o gospel_n the_o power_n of_o god_n to_o salvation_n preach_v unto_o we_o so_o his_o author_n speak_v pag._n 28._o that_o new_a in_o our_o time_n we_o have_v no_o preacher_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o the_o scripture_n their_o meaning_n seem_v to_o be_v the_o same_o that_o the_o gospel_n as_o the_o licenser_n or_o the_o scripture_n as_o the_o author_n be_v the_o only_a preacher_n and_o we_o have_v no_o other_o and_o sure_a if_o we_o have_v no_o other_o preacher_n but_o the_o scripture_n we_o have_v no_o church_n at_o all_o if_o then_o the_o licenser_n and_o the_o author_n agree_v in_o these_o two_o the_o main_a business_n of_o the_o book_n i_o know_v not_o wherein_o they_o need_v to_o dissent_v but_o see_v he_o conceal_v his_o opinion_n and_o jumble_v truth_n and_o error_n together_o we_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o separate_v they_o that_o the_o credulous_a or_o unlearned_a reader_n may_v not_o be_v infect_v instead_o of_o be_v edify_v farewell_n vanity_n of_o vanity_n and_o certainty_n of_o delusion_n discover_v in_o the_o pamphlet_n call_v the_o vanity_n of_o the_o present_a church_n etc._n etc._n the_o author_n begin_v well_o in_o word_n that_o there_o ought_v to_o be_v a_o true_a correspondence_n between_o the_o heart_n tongue_n and_o hand_n a_o agreement_n between_o conscience_n profession_n and_o practice_n but_o it_o be_v to_o be_v fear_v these_o be_v at_o a_o great_a distance_n in_o himself_o if_o he_o be_v as_o be_v not_o without_o probable_a ground_n suppose_v a_o jesuit_n disguise_v for_o such_o man_n heart_n tongue_n and_o hand_n conscience_n profession_n and_o practice_n do_v seldom_o agree_v in_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a to_o the_o peace_n of_o church_n or_o state_n but_o because_o he_o add_v when_o the_o discord_n of_o those_o be_v continue_v as_o well_o as_o declare_v to_o the_o reproach_n of_o christianity_n or_o humane_a society_n then_o certain_o a_o reproof_n be_v not_o only_o requisite_a but_o the_o neglect_n thereof_o a_o sin_n of_o a_o high_a nature_n therefore_o i_o think_v it_o good_a to_o discover_v a_o little_a this_o discord_n of_o he_o from_o himself_o and_o from_o the_o truth_n itself_o to_o the_o great_a reproach_n of_o both_o the_o particular_n mention_v 1._o the_o scope_n and_o intention_n of_o his_o whole_a discourse_n be_v evident_o this_o 1._o to_o destroy_v all_o church_n except_o perhaps_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n 2._o to_o decry_v all_o faithful_a preacher_n of_o the_o gospel_n 3._o to_o cry_v up_o liberty_n of_o conscience_n for_o all_o sect_n and_o heresy_n so_o to_o bring_v all_o into_o confusion_n to_o make_v they_o all_o at_o last_o concentre_v in_o the_o sea_n of_o rome_n this_o seem_v to_o be_v the_o design_n his_o only_a virtue_n seem_v to_o be_v his_o impartiality_n for_o he_o spare_v neither_o presbyterian_a nor_o independent_a by_o which_o we_o may_v suspect_v he_o to_o be_v a_o jesuit_n or_o jesuited_a for_o all_o sectary_n be_v independent_o though_o all_o independent_o be_v not_o proper_o sectary_n and_o yet_o himself_o be_v hold_v out_o the_o large_a independency_n that_o ever_o be_v hear_v of_o that_o every_o man_n and_o woman_n shall_v have_v no_o dependence_n upon_o any_o church_n he_o cry_v down_o all_o church_n but_o be_v his_o own_o minister_n hearer_n officer_n all_o as_o more_o hereafter_o 2._o and_o now_o let_v we_o see_v what_o he_o blame_v they_o for_o viz._n for_o recede_v from_o their_o former_a judgement_n and_o declaration_n etc._n ●ag_n 2_o etc._n etc._n for_o a_o full_a complete_a and_o utmost_a liberty_n of_o conscience_n in_o the_o exercise_n of_o religion_n this_o say_v he_o the_o presbyterian_o while_o persecute_v by_o the_o bishop_n do_v clear_o hold_v forth_o but_o since_o practise_v the_o contrary_a for_o which_o the_o independent_o do_v sharp_o reprove_v they_o account_v nothing_o more_o base_a and_o unbeseeming_a a_o christian_n then_o to_o question_n or_o vex_v or_o reproach_v any_o man_n for_o his_o conscience_n in_o the_o exercise_n of_o religion_n the_o difference_n between_o they_o and_o the_o prelate_n be_v not_o in_o doctrinal_n but_o ceremonial_n they_o ever_o detest_v it_o nor_o have_v they_o ever_o persecute_v any_o for_o his_o conscience_n as_o never_o have_v have_v power_n if_o they_o have_v a_o mind_n to_o do_v it_o and_o if_o the_o independent_o do_v so_o hold_v forth_o or_o dissemble_v so_o far_o as_o some_o think_v they_o do_v to_o gain_v themselves_o love_n and_o respect_n and_o to_o multiply_v their_o congregation_n and_o get_v countenance_n from_o authority_n they_o
