their_o faith_n be_v no_o hard_a task_n for_o a_o weak_a man._n i_o say_v nothing_o yet_o of_o the_o word_n absolute_a but_o ask_v how_o know_v we_o this_o why_o we_o know_v any_o man_n may_v find_v it_o confess_v to_o his_o hand_n by_o protestant_n pag._n 6._o who_o i_o pray_v be_v these_o protestant_n dr._n tillotson_n in_o his_o rule_n of_o faith_n pag._n 117_o 118._o i_o have_v so_o great_a a_o reverence_n for_o that_o very_a excellent_a man_n that_o i_o be_o not_o unwilling_a though_o he_o be_v but_o one_o protestant_n that_o he_o shall_v pass_v for_o many_o and_o too_o many_o for_o all_o the_o traditionary_a catholic_n to_o answer_v his_o rule_n of_o faith_n but_o his_o confession_n that_o protestant_n have_v no_o certainty_n of_o their_o faith_n i_o must_v desire_v some_o good_a catholic_n to_o show_v i_o in_o those_o two_o page_n or_o in_o any_o other_o part_n of_o his_o book_n when_o he_o can_v answer_v it_o for_o till_o then_o i_o despair_v of_o find_v it_o we_o we_o will_v or_o no_o such_o as_o rushworth_n dr._n holden_n mr._n cressy_n and_o mr._n white_a all_o contend_v for_o the_o infallilbility_n of_o tradition_n and_o yet_o confess_v that_o what_o the_o great_a part_n of_o mankind_n must_v be_v satisfy_v with_o be_v probability_n and_o conjecture_n as_o he_o may_v find_v in_o the_o 120_o the_o and_o follow_v page_n of_o dr._n tillotson_n rule_n of_o faith_n where_o if_o he_o find_v they_o wrong_v he_o have_v the_o liberty_n to_o vindicate_v they_o if_o he_o can_v only_o i_o will_v here_o give_v he_o and_o his_o friend_n a_o seasonable_a warning_n that_o if_o any_o protestant_n shall_v be_v now_o mind_v of_o it_o by_o he_o begin_v to_o plead_v infallibility_n by_o virtue_n of_o tradition_n it_o will_v behoove_v they_o in_o time_n after_o church_n differ_v in_o faith_n infallible_a faith_n in_o one_o can_v stand_v with_o certain_a faith_n in_o the_o other_o whence_o he_o may_v do_v well_o to_o take_v notice_n that_o when_o our_o certainty_n be_v once_o prove_v no_o more_o be_v needful_a to_o confute_v their_o infallibility_n now_o the_o question_n be_v say_v he_o whether_o protestant_n be_v absolute_o certain_a that_o they_o hold_v now_o the_o same_o tenet_n in_o faith_n and_o all_o that_o our_o saviour_n teach_v his_o apostle_n page_n 6._o which_o question_n in_o that_o challenge_n of_o he_o page_n 22._o be_v thus_o explain_v make_v manifest_a that_o protestant_n have_v absolute_a certainty_n not_o only_o of_o the_o scripture_n which_o they_o call_v their_o rule_n but_o of_o the_o faith_n which_o they_o pretend_v to_o have_v from_o that_o rule_n or_o else_o suffer_v another_o thing_n to_o be_v manifest_a viz._n that_o you_o can_v do_v it_o and_o thither_o i_o be_o sure_a it_o will_v come_v the_o proof_n he_o not_o find_v that_o our_o saviour_n ever_o teach_v that_o the_o book_n so_o call_v be_v scripture_n one_o great_a part_n whereof_o be_v not_o write_v when_o he_o teach_v yet_o do_v we_o believe_v that_o it_o be_v scripture_n and_o divine_a scripture_n scripture_n the_o word_n of_o god_n contain_v in_o it_o all_o thing_n necessary_a to_o salvation_n and_o that_o all_o thing_n therein_o affirm_v the_o word_n of_o god_n on_o which_o it_o be_v whole_o ground_v to_o be_v no_o good_a ground_n of_o certainty_n neither_o indeed_o can_v these_o man_n deny_v the_o certainty_n of_o our_o faith_n without_o deny_v that_o of_o their_o own_o too_o so_o
far_o as_o it_o be_v the_o same_o with_o we_o as_o indeed_o it_o be_v in_o all_o our_o necessary_a article_n we_o be_v no_o other_o but_o those_o in_o the_o creed_n which_o be_v as_o well_o they_o as_o we_o thus_o far_o then_o we_o have_v often_o prove_v the_o certainty_n of_o our_o faith_n and_o if_o he_o require_v it_o will_v be_v ready_a to_o do_v it_o again_o but_o this_o he_o know_v well_o enough_o and_o therefore_o will_v set_v we_o a_o hard_a task_n but_o it_o be_v by_o all_o law_n of_o disputation_n in_o our_o choice_n whether_o we_o will_v accept_v of_o it_o or_o no._n two_o thing_n more_o he_o will_v have_v we_o prove_v first_o that_o we_o be_v absolute_o certain_a of_o all_o this_o and_o second_o not_o only_o this_o but_o of_o all_o that_o more_o which_o our_o saviour_n teach_v his_o apostle_n but_o that_o we_o be_v not_o oblige_v to_o prove_v either_o of_o these_o thing_n we_o be_v at_o least_o as_o sure_a as_o he_o be_v that_o we_o can_v and_o that_o i_o will_v confess_v to_o he_o be_v sure_a enough_o take_v his_o word_n in_o his_o own_o sense_n for_o first_o he_o tell_v we_o pag._n 23._o the_o profession_n of_o absolute_a certainty_n make_v a_o fair_a approach_n towards_o the_o doctrine_n of_o infallibility_n or_o rather_o it_o be_v the_o self_n same_o with_o it_o and_o again_o in_o the_o same_o page_n he_o make_v absolute_o certain_a and_o infallible_a all_o one_o thing_n when_o therefore_o he_o can_v meet_v with_o protestant_n that_o profess_v themselves_o absolute_o certain_a in_o his_o sense_n that_o be_v infallible_a it_o be_v fit_a he_o shall_v call_v upon_o they_o as_o we_o do_v on_o roman_a catholic_n to_o prove_v all_o be_v their_o due_n which_o they_o as_o absurd_o as_o presumptuous_o arrogate_v to_o themselves_o but_o whilst_o he_o have_v to_o do_v with_o protestant_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n who_o be_v of_o a_o modest_a disposition_n let_v he_o not_o put_v they_o to_o the_o blush_v for_o he_o by_o tell_v they_o it_o be_v their_o duty_n to_o prove_v themselves_o to_o be_v as_o much_o wise_a than_o they_o know_v themselves_o to_o be_v as_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n think_v herself_o wise_a than_o all_o other_o church_n and_o true_o the_o next_o part_n of_o his_o demand_n be_v as_o unreasonable_a as_o this_o to_o bid_v we_o prove_v that_o we_o be_v absolute_o certain_a of_o all_o that_o christ_n teach_v his_o apostle_n we_o be_v certain_a as_o be_v say_v of_o that_o which_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n have_v teach_v we_o in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n write_v on_o purpose_n to_o inform_v we_o of_o what_o they_o teach_v and_o this_o we_o have_v reason_n to_o think_v enough_o and_o all_o that_o we_o be_v bind_v to_o be_v certain_a of_o because_o we_o can_v imagine_v if_o they_o write_v not_o all_o that_o we_o be_v bind_v to_o know_v and_o believe_v why_o they_o be_v at_o the_o pain_n to_o write_v so_o much_o for_o if_o it_o be_v as_o these_o man_n tell_v we_o that_o to_o believe_v but_o a_o part_n be_v as_o damnable_a as_o to_o believe_v nothing_o they_o have_v as_o good_a have_v write_v nothing_o as_o not_o the_o whole_a that_o we_o must_v believe_v a_o few_o line_n more_o may_v have_v instruct_v we_o in_o that_o all_o more_o which_o it_o be_v say_v we_o shall_v certain_o believe_v or_o a_o few_o word_n may_v have_v direct_v we_o to_o the_o infallible_a church_n to_o learn_v christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n teach_v as_o the_o necessary_a faith_n of_o christian_n we_o do_v not_o find_v in_o any_o of_o the_o ancient_a creed_n one_o branch_n of_o this_o all_o more_o which_o the_o trent_n council_n so_o late_o teach_v and_o command_v by_o virtue_n of_o tradition_n to_o say_v no_o more_o we_o have_v certainty_n of_o all_o that_o be_v teach_v we_o in_o scripture_n and_o we_o know_v of_o no_o more_o that_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n teach_v we_o the_o papist_n say_v there_o be_v more_o and_o we_o be_v bind_v to_o believe_v it_o can_v now_o this_o gentleman_n see_v by_o his_o own_o rule_n of_o disputation_n that_o he_o and_o his_o brethren_n ought_v to_o bear_v their_o own_o burden_n the_o proof_n of_o all_o this_o more_o that_o he_o will_v have_v we_o say_v we_o be_v certain_a of_o you_o see_v i_o hope_v by_o this_o time_n that_o we_o decline_v no_o proof_n that_o be_v incumbent_n upon_o we_o we_o prove_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n we_o prove_v every_o article_n of_o our_o faith_n by_o the_o scripture_n and_o thus_o we_o prove_v we_o have_v sufficient_a certainty_n of_o our_o whole_a faith._n our_o rule_n be_v certain_a the_o faith_n which_o agree_v with_o it_o be_v certain_a too_o if_o there_o be_v any_o thing_n more_o that_o it_o be_v suppose_v christ_n teach_v and_o christian_n must_v believe_v he_o that_o affirm_v it_o be_v oblige_v to_o prove_v it_o or_o no_o long_o to_o quarrel_n with_o those_o who_o know_v nothing_o of_o it_o well_o i_o perceive_v this_o author_n have_v a_o mind_n to_o show_v what_o he_o can_v do_v to_o prove_v we_o have_v no_o certainty_n of_o our_o faith_n in_o kindness_n to_o we_o i_o suppose_v that_o he_o may_v ease_v we_o of_o the_o mpossible_a task_n as_o he_o accunt_v it_o of_o prove_v that_o we_o have_v and_o he_o have_v do_v it_o unanswerable_o it_o we_o will_v believe_v he_o i_o declare_v open_o say_v he_o that_o you_o can_v answer_v this_o discourse_n however_o we_o iii_o scripture_n letter_n interpretable_a by_o private_a judgement_n be_v not_o that_o way_n who_o do_v the_o man_n here_o dispute_v against_o our_o doctrine_n be_v that_o the_o scripture_n only_o if_o it_o may_v be_v prove_v only_o that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n do_v not_o err_v i_o think_v we_o be_v oblige_v to_o communicate_v with_o she_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v enough_o for_o she_o to_o prove_v herself_o free_a from_o error_n which_o be_v a_o much_o easy_a task_n if_o she_o be_v so_o then_o to_o prove_v herself_o infallible_a to_o prove_v the_o former_a be_v enough_o and_o in_o vain_a she_o attempt_v to_o prove_v the_o late_a till_o the_o former_a be_v prove_v why_o then_o labour_v she_o to_o no_o purpose_n for_o as_o light_a as_o this_o author_n make_v of_o instance_n yet_o all_o the_o world_n know_v that_o a_o single_a instance_n in_o one_o error_n be_v enough_o to_o answer_v all_o the_o argument_n can_v be_v bring_v for_o her_o infallibility_n see_v it_o must_v needs_o away_o because_o some_o man_n will_v abuse_v it_o yea_o but_o it_o make_v light_a and_o darkness_n very_o consistent_a and_o christ_n and_o belial_n very_o good_a friend_n ibid._n i_o hope_v you_o read_v not_o this_o without_o a_o more_o than_o ordinary_a concernment_n for_o the_o man_n who_o ever_o he_o be_v that_o have_v so_o little_a reverence_n for_o god_n and_o his_o holy_a word_n for_o quarrel_v with_o our_o rule_n and_o with_o we_o for_o not_o give_v a_o more_o distinct_a rule_n he_o next_o complain_v of_o we_o for_o not_o follow_v our_o rule_n not_o one_o of_o a_o million_o even_o of_o your_o own_a protestant_n say_v he_o rely_v on_o or_o ever_o think_v of_o rely_v on_o your_o rule_n of_o faith_n in_o order_n to_o make_v choice_n of_o their_o faith_n or_o determine_v what_o to_o hold_v ibid._n tho'_o i_o fear_v many_o of_o they_o be_v too_o negligent_a yet_o i_o hope_v he_o be_v out_o in_o his_o account_n or_o else_o i_o know_v he_o be_v uncharitable_a in_o thus_o i_o mean_v to_o no_o purpose_n he_o ask_v page_n 27._o how_o few_o use_n all_o the_o fallible_a mean_n for_o you_o allow_v they_o no_o other_o which_o they_o be_v to_o make_v use_n of_o to_o find_v out_o their_o faith_n again_o i_o answer_v too_o few_o but_o yet_o many_o more_o than_o he_o can_v wish_v do_v make_v use_n of_o they_o and_o how_o fallible_a soever_o these_o mean_n be_v they_o be_v as_o infallible_a as_o any_o afford_v the_o people_n in_o his_o church_n and_o as_o much_o more_o certain_a as_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v more_o certain_a than_o that_o of_o a_o priest._n but_o and_o not_o scripture_n letter_n be_v indeed_o our_o rule_n page_n 29._o where_o be_v we_o now_o in_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n ere_o we_o be_v aware_a of_o it_o we_o be_v all_o good_a roman_a catholic_n on_o a_o sudden_a we_o be_v become_v a_o infallible_a church_n and_o do_v not_o know_v it_o what_o virtue_n be_v there_o in_o these_o fine_a letter_n and_o how_o insensible_o do_v they_o work_v upon_o we_o fear_v not_o sir_n he_o have_v prove_v it_o i_o will_v warrant_v you_o and_o that_o unanswerable_o as_o he_o do_v all_o thing_n child_n simple_o believe_v their_o father_n and_o rome_n to_o see_v more_o clear_o by_o unwritten_a tradition_n last_o the_o reformer_n mean_v not_o that_o the_o believe_a church_n shall_v have_v the_o liberty_n to_o interpret_v scripture_n against_o the_o teach_a church_n or_o pastor_n or_o coin_v a_o faith_n out_o of_o it_o contrary_a to_o the_o present_a or_o former_a congregation_n of_o which_o he_o be_v a_o member_n page_n 29._o therefore_o again_o they_o follow_v tradition_n they_o do_v indeed_o apostolical_a and_o scriptural_a tradition_n and_o herein_o both_o pastor_n and_o people_n be_v well_o agree_v that_o they_o be_v neither_o be_v trust_v the_o certainty_n of_o scripture_n be_v from_o tradition_n therefore_o there_o be_v no_o refuse_v that_o tradition_n cause_v certainty_n and_o make_v faith_n as_o certain_a as_o scripture_n page_n 7._o yet_o it_o may_v be_v this_o certainty_n come_v not_o up_o to_o infallibility_n yes_o it_o be_v the_o very_a same_o as_o you_o hear_v before_o and_o he_o add_v page_n 23._o other_o way_n such_o ancient_a book_n can_v be_v convey_v unto_o we_o i_o confess_v i_o do_v not_o know_v neither_o indeed_o can_v i_o see_v what_o great_a certainty_n any_o man_n can_v reasonable_o desire_v that_o these_o indeed_o be_v the_o very_a same_o book_n which_o the_o author_n of_o they_o leave_v to_o the_o church_n and_o which_o the_o church_n have_v always_o receive_v as_o the_o word_n of_o god._n and_o this_o tradition_n we_o look_v upon_o as_o a_o ground_n of_o sufficient_a certainty_n of_o this_o matter_n of_o fact_n wherein_o no_o man_n be_v ever_o wont_a to_o desire_v better_o nor_o in_o reason_n can_v but_o than_o first_o this_o tradition_n be_v not_o that_o of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n only_o which_o be_v the_o only_a tradition_n that_o i_o ever_o hear_v of_o that_o next_o place_n this_o universal_a tradition_n be_v no_o more_o but_o humane_a testimony_n and_o that_o can_v be_v no_o ground_n of_o infallibility_n which_o exclude_v all_o possibility_n of_o error_n a_o moral_a certainty_n be_v enough_o to_o stand_v on_o such_o a_o foundation_n and_o all_o that_o can_v be_v rational_o desire_v in_o this_o case_n these_o book_n as_o write_v by_o the_o inspiration_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v the_o foundation_n of_o our_o christian_a faith_n and_o he_o know_v i_o hope_v that_o neither_o papist_n nor_o protestant_n content_v themselves_o with_o tradition_n but_o produce_v abundance_n of_o other_o argument_n for_o the_o confirmation_n of_o scripture_n divine_a authority_n and_o whereas_o he_o say_v it_o make_v faith_n as_o certain_a as_o scripture_n no_o man_n can_v doubt_v but_o convey_v the_o book_n to_o we_o it_o convey_v to_o we_o all_o point_n of_o faith_n contain_v in_o the_o book_n and_o witness_v the_o book_n to_o be_v write_v by_o man_n divine_o inspire_v it_o also_o give_v as_o good_a credit_n to_o the_o faith_n contain_v in_o it_o as_o humane_a testimony_n can_v give_v but_o he_o mean_v another_o thing_n when_o he_o thus_o explain_v himself_o unless_o some_o special_a difficulty_n be_v find_v in_o other_o thing_n that_o light_n into_o the_o same_o channel_n it_o must_v needs_o bring_v they_o down_o infallible_o too_o these_o other_o thing_n be_v thing_n unwritten_a in_o that_o holy_a book_n and_o without_o more_o ado_n we_o will_v promise_v he_o that_o when_o ever_o he_o can_v show_v we_o those_o other_o thing_n and_o assure_v we_o that_o they_o light_n into_o the_o same_o channel_n of_o universal_a not_o only_o roman_a tradition_n and_o be_v so_o convey_v to_o we_o we_o will_v entertain_v they_o with_o the_o same_o certainty_n as_o we_o entertain_v the_o scripture_n upon_o account_n of_o that_o tradition_n only_o but_o for_o these_o other_o thing_n which_o be_v to_o be_v part_n of_o faith_n too_o i_o fear_v we_o must_v either_o fish_n for_o they_o in_o the_o channel_n of_o tiber_n or_o not_o at_o all_o find_v they_o all_o traditionary_a christian_n believe_v the_o same_o to_o day_n which_o they_o do_v yesterday_o and_o so_o up_o to_o the_o time_n of_o our_o bless_a saviour_n page_n 8._o so_o say_v mr._n g._n and_o say_v our_o author_n there_o be_v no_o deny_v this_o but_o by_o deny_v that_o traditionary_a christian_n be_v traditionary_a christian_n but_o suppose_v these_o traditionary_a christian_n be_v so_o call_v from_o their_o adhere_n to_o a_o tradition_n which_o reach_v not_o so_o high_a as_o our_o bless_a saviour_n time_n but_o only_o pretend_v to_o it_o as_o they_o be_v by_o other_o if_o not_o by_o themselves_o may_v we_o not_o call_v they_o traditionary_a christian_n and_o confess_v too_o that_o they_o believe_v the_o same_o to_o day_n as_o they_o do_v yesterday_o yea_o and_o as_o they_o do_v ever_o since_o the_o council_n of_o trent_n or_o some_o hundred_o of_o year_n before_o that_o and_o yet_o deny_v that_o they_o believe_v the_o same_o that_o be_v believe_v quite_o up_o to_o the_o time_n of_o our_o bless_a saviour_n yes_o this_o be_v and_o will_v be_v deny_v till_o he_o can_v prove_v it_o next_o mr._n g._n faith_n if_o they_o follow_v this_o rule_n they_o can_v never_o err_v in_o faith._n and_o his_o friend_n tell_v we_o this_o be_v palpable_o self-evident_a and_o p._n 9_o therefore_o they_o be_v infallible_a but_o unless_o the_o rule_n of_o tradition_n which_o they_o follow_v be_v long_o than_o it_o be_v yet_o prove_v to_o be_v they_o may_v follow_v it_o and_o err_v all_o along_o by_o follow_v it_o and_o let_v it_o be_v never_o so_o long_o yet_o if_o they_o follow_v it_o not_o they_o may_v err_v and_o therefore_o be_v not_o infallible_a except_o he_o show_v that_o they_o can_v choose_v but_o follow_v it_o so_o that_o unless_o it_o be_v first_o as_o be_v before_o say_v prove_v that_o god_n have_v give_v a_o rule_n which_o necessary_o conclude_v thus_o suppose_v traditionary_a christian_n neither_o do_v nor_o can_v err_v it_o be_v certain_a they_o neither_o do_v nor_o can_v err_v make_v what_o you_o can_v more_o of_o too_o forgetful_a of_o this_o with_o so_o much_o diligence_n as_o he_o express_v to_o endeavour_v that_o they_o may_v be_v able_a after_o his_o decease_n to_o have_v these_o thing_n always_o in_o remembrance_n 2_o pet._n 1.15_o and_o that_o by_o give_v they_o unto_o they_o in_o write_v and_o if_o such_o malice_n as_o he_o talk_v of_o can_v never_o possible_o be_v find_v among_o christian_n or_o man_n profess_v themselves_o so_o to_o damn_v themselves_o and_o posterity_n witting_o i_o will_v fain_o have_v he_o tell_v we_o how_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o we_o find_v at_o this_o day_n among_o such_o christian_n so_o many_o thousand_o by_o wickedness_n of_o all_o sort_n hasten_v to_o damnation_n themselves_o and_o take_v as_o little_a care_n to_o provide_v any_o better_a for_o their_o child_n may_v not_o christian_n through_o malice_n and_o wickedness_n be_v as_o careless_a of_o preserve_v the_o faith_n as_o of_o maintain_v holiness_n in_o themselves_o or_o their_o posterity_n when_o they_o know_v that_o sin_n be_v as_o damnable_a as_o error_n again_o suppose_v neither_o forgetfulness_n nor_o malice_n enough_o to_o spoil_v the_o rule_n of_o tradition_n what_o if_o all_o son_n do_v not_o understand_v aright_o all_o that_o father_n have_v teach_v they_o be_v not_o this_o as_o possible_a as_o for_o some_o not_o to_o understand_v aright_o what_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n teach_v they_o and_o such_o there_o be_v among_o their_o hearer_n what_o if_o some_o son_n be_v so_o negligent_a as_o to_o take_v no_o care_n either_o to_o remember_v or_o teach_v what_o they_o have_v be_v teach_v by_o their_o father_n have_v we_o not_o daily_a experience_n of_o such_o careless_a person_n who_o yet_o want_v neither_o understanding_n nor_o memory_n what_o if_o some_o through_o ambition_n vainglory_n and_o popularity_n set_v abroach_o new_a doctrine_n and_o teach_v they_o for_o apostolical_a tradition_n what_o if_o other_o to_o save_v themselves_o from_o persecution_n conceal_a part_n and_o corrupt_a more_o of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o christ_n by_o their_o own_o tradition_n take_v not_o from_o christ_n but_o from_o their_o forefather_n jew_n or_o gentile_n and_o to_o say_v no_o more_o what_o if_o some_o through_o a_o blind_a zeal_n ignorant_a devotion_n superstitious_a rigour_n and_o vain_a credulity_n add_v many_o thing_n to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o christ_n which_o by_o degree_n grow_v into_o more_o general_a esteem_n till_o at_o last_o they_o be_v own_a and_o impose_v as_o necessary_a to_o be_v believe_v and_o practise_v what_o iâ—_n error_n any_o of_o these_o way_n bring_v forth_o grow_v multiply_v spread_v obtain_v most_o power_n and_o drive_v out_o all_o that_o hold_v the_o naked_a truth_n out_o of_o all_o those_o country_n where_o it_o come_v because_o instance_n bring_v by_o we_o be_v unwelcome_a to_o this_o gentleman_n i_o will_v leave_v he_o to_o furnish_v himself_o with_o they_o out_o of_o all_o history_n but_o now_o he_o will_v i_o suppose_v betake_v himself_o again_o to_o his_o only_a refuge_n that_o when_o any_o of_o these_o fall_v into_o error_n they_o leave_v their_o rule_n tradition_n i_o long_o say_v he_o to_o hear_v it_o make_v out_o that_o a_o err_a church_n can_v still_o plead_v tradition_n and_o adhere_v to_o it_o p._n 18._o for_o that_o a_o church_n may_v follow_v tradition_n at_o one_o time_n and_o leave_v it_o at_o another_o be_v no_o news_n p._n 15._o if_o this_o be_v no_o news_n then_o though_o we_o shall_v grant_v tradition_n to_o be_v a_o infallible_a conveyance_n of_o the_o truth_n yet_o will_v it_o not_o make_v even_o that_o church_n which_o now_o adhere_v to_o it_o to_o be_v infallible_a and_o therefore_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n though_o we_o shall_v confess_v she_o at_o present_a to_o adhere_v to_o infallible_a tradition_n can_v not_o prove_v herself_o thereby_o to_o be_v infallible_a that_o church_n only_o be_v infallible_a which_o can_v err_v the_o church_n that_o at_o one_o time_n follow_v tradition_n may_v leave_v it_o at_o another_o and_o so_o do_v err_v therefore_o if_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n be_v infallible_a she_o must_v prove_v not_o only_o that_o she_o follow_v tradition_n for_o so_o she_o prove_v only_o that_o she_o do_v not_o err_v but_o also_o that_o she_o can_v leave_v it_o for_o infallibility_n exclude_v all_o possibility_n of_o err_a by_o leave_v tradition_n she_o must_v therefore_o seek_v out_o a_o new_a medium_fw-la to_o prove_v herself_o infallible_a for_o hitherto_o according_a to_o his_o own_o way_n of_o reason_v she_o have_v but_o the_o same_o privilege_n that_o all_o church_n have_v not_o to_o err_v so_o long_o as_o she_o hold_v to_o tradition_n and_o do_v not_o leave_v it_o yet_o
