disagreement_n therein_o must_v be_v the_o major_a part_n and_o when_o as_o there_o be_v also_o a_o establish_a subordination_n of_o these_o person_n and_o court_n must_v be_v the_o superior_a rather_o than_o the_o inferior_a person_n and_o the_o more_o universal_a and_o comprehensive_a synod_n rather_o than_o those_o synod_n which_o be_v of_o a_o less_o circuit_n and_o small_a company_n another_o to_o know_v which_o of_o they_o be_v to_o be_v our_o guide_n it_o be_v all_o one_o as_o if_o he_o leave_v we_o no_o guide_n and_o he_o that_o tie_v we_o beside_o the_o use_n of_o our_o own_o judgement_n to_o obey_v and_o follow_v some_o ecclesiastical_a person_n or_o other_o only_a not_o oblige_v to_o the_o most_o or_o major_a part_n to_o a_o superior_a more_o than_o inferior_a person_n church-government_n par._n 2._o from_o §_o 26._o to_o 29._o 5_o from_o the_o same_o text_n another_o thing_n be_v clear_a §_o 48_o that_o this_o guide_v clergy_n shall_v for_o ever_o be_v unfailable_a or_o infallible_a either_o in_o all_o truth_n whatever_o i_o mean_v theological_n and_o spiritual_a any_o way_n respect_v man_n salvation_n which_o truth_n they_o shall_v think_v meet_a to_o be_v determine_v or_o at_o least_o in_o all_o such_o truth_n as_o be_v absolute_o necessary_a to_o salvation_n else_o this_o pillar_n of_o truth_n be_v crack_v and_o shiver_v the_o key_n of_o heaven_n and_o salvation_n itself_o perish_v i_o mean_v as_o to_o this_o clergy_n if_o truth_n necessary_a to_o salvation_n be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v with_o they_o and_o if_o the_o skirt_n of_o the_o promise_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n teach_v they_o all_o thing_n can_v be_v spread_v so_o far_o as_o to_o secure_v they_o of_o be_v teach_v so_o much_o truth_n as_o be_v but_o absolute_o necessary_a §_o 49_o but_o then_o 6_o these_o church-guides_a to_o avoid_v such_o ill_a consequence_n be_v make_v the_o unfailing_a repository_n of_o all_o truth_n absolute_o necessary_a to_o salvation_n will_v it_o
not_o also_o after_o this_o be_v reasonable_o deduce_v that_o they_o be_v so_o too_o for_o all_o other_o truth_n that_o be_v so_o far_o necessary_a as_o that_o the_o error_n contrary_a to_o they_o some_o way_n hazard_v salvation_n or_o by_o some_o consequence_n overthrow_v any_o absolute_o necessary_a truth_n i_o say_v may_v not_o this_o also_o reasonable_o be_v conclude_v for_o these_o reason_n 1._o because_o we_o find_v no_o restriction_n of_o our_o saviour_n promise_n of_o assistance_n only_o for_o these_o absolute_o necessary_a fundamental_o and_o there_o must_v be_v grant_v need_n of_o this_o his_o assistance_n further_o so_o long_o as_o there_o be_v grant_v further_a danger_n 2._o because_o if_o we_o confine_v the_o non-failing_a guidance_n of_o these_o church-guides_a only_o to_o absolute_a necessary_n this_o will_v not_o extend_v so_o far_o as_o the_o point_n of_o the_o three_o creed_n a_o very_a few_o article_n of_o which_o be_v by_o the_o learned_a think_v truth_n absolute_o necessary_a 3._o because_o those_o of_o the_o church-doctor_n will_v not_o consent_v to_o a_o universal_a inerrability_n of_o these_o church-guides_a but_o restrain_v it_o only_o to_o some_o truth_n whereas_o the_o scripture_n make_v no_o limitation_n but_o do_v it_o on_o such_o pretence_n as_o these_o 1._o because_o those_o wherein_o they_o say_v these_o may_v err_v be_v by-and_a unnecessary_a truth_n to_o which_o the_o church_n curiosity_n or_o weakness_n may_v carry_v she_o beyond_o her_o rule_n see_v bishop_n laud_n §_o 21._o n._n 5._o 2ly_n because_o they_o be_v unprofitable_a curiosity_n and_o unnecessary_a subtlety_n for_o which_o the_o promise_n be_v not_o make_v because_o deus_fw-la non_fw-la abundat_fw-la in_o superfluis_fw-la because_o they_o be_v possible_a that_o she_o shall_v universal_o fall_v from_o it_o or_o teach_v against_o it_o see_v bishop_n laud_n §_o 21._o n._n 5_o but_o then_o there_o seem_v also_o to_o be_v good_a reason_n why_o other_o point_n dangerous_a to_o salvation_n or_o undermine_a fundamental_o shall_v be_v deliver_v clear_o in_o the_o same_o word_n of_o god_n or_o if_o not_o clear_o there_o be_v the_o more_o reason_n still_o that_o the_o churches-guides_a shall_v be_v infallible_o assist_v in_o these_o which_o both_o be_v dangerous_a and_o the_o church_n rule_n the_o scripture_n in_o they_o obscure_a see_v more_o of_o this_o in_o ch._n government_n 2._o part_n §_o 32._o 7._o if_o these_o church-guides_a have_v at_o least_o a_o promise_n to_o be_v infallible_a in_o necessary_n §_o 50_o this_o again_o set_v aside_o now_o those_o forementioned_a text_n which_o enjoin_v it_o will_v infer_v the_o obedience_n of_o assent_n at_o least_o to_o some_o of_o their_o decision_n namely_o those_o make_v in_o necessary_n for_o who_o can_v deny_v assent_n to_o a_o grant_v infallible_a proponent_n and_o if_o assent_n must_v be_v grant_v to_o they_o in_o necessary_n then_o as_o mr._n chillingworth_n most_o acute_o observe_v to_o all_o that_o they_o shall_v judge_v a_o necessary_a if_o say_v he_o p._n 150._o the_o church_n be_v a_o infallible_a director_n in_o fundamental_o then_o must_v we_o not_o only_o learn_v fundamental_o of_o she_o but_o also_o learn_v of_o she_o what_o be_v fundamental_a and_o take_v for_o fundamental_a which_o she_o believe_v to_o be_v such_o in_o performance_n in_o such_o a_o large_a sense_n as_o we_o have_v show_v but_o now_o that_o they_o have_v reason_n to_o presume_v of_o our_o saviour_n assistance_n therein_o then_o perhaps_o so_o many_o of_o their_o decision_n will_v receive_v from_o they_o the_o denomination_n of_o necessary_a as_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o think_v meet_a whilst_o assent_v to_o all_o these_o to_o dissent_v from_o they_o in_o the_o rest_n but_o however_o if_o we_o yield_v assent_v to_o all_o these_o good_a reason_n there_o be_v why_o we_o shall_v also_o in_o all_o the_o rest_n abstract_v from_o matter_n of_o fact_n and_o matter_n not_o spiritual_a only_o put_v in_o this_o exception_n unless_o any_o happen_v to_o be_v infallible_o certain_a of_o the_o contrary_a to_o what_o they_o decide_v for_o whosoever_o be_v so_o i_o grant_v can_v yield_v assent_n but_o how_o any_o one_o shall_v be_v so_o debar_v new_a revelation_n and_o his_o have_v any_o divine_a evidence_n which_o the_o church-guides_a have_v not_o as_o well_o as_o he_o i_o do_v not_o see_v especial_o when_o also_o have_v propose_v to_o these_o church-guides_a all_o the_o reason_n and_o ground_n of_o his_o infallible_a certainty_n yet_o he_o have_v not_o make_v they_o so_o §_o 51_o but_o if_o any_o one_o be_v so_o infallible_o certain_a yet_o i_o say_v all_o the_o rest_n of_o christian_n who_o have_v not_o attain_v such_o certainty_n have_v good_a reason_n to_o yield_v assent_n to_o these_o church-guide_n also_o in_o all_o their_o decision_n even_o touch_v non-necessaries_a 1._o see_v that_o if_o i_o may_v transfer_v the_o apostle_n argument_n 1_o cor._n 6._o 3._o from_o person_n to_o thing_n these_o be_v set_v over_o we_o to_o regulate_v our_o judgement_n in_o the_o great_a matter_n how_o can_v they_o be_v conceive_v unfit_a to_o do_v it_o in_o the_o lesser_a 2._o see_v that_o by_o our_o not-yeilding_a assent_n to_o all_o their_o decision_n even_o those_o also_o in_o non-necessaries_a so_o long_o as_o they_o have_v make_v no_o distinct_a partition_n of_o these_o two_o we_o may_v incur_v a_o peril_n of_o withdraw_a our_o assent_n in_o some_o thing_n necessary_a but_o by_o assent_v to_o all_o we_o be_v sure_a to_o have_v a_o right_a persuasion_n in_o all_o necessary_n wherein_o these_o guide_n have_v a_o warrant_v not_o to_o fail_v but_o not_o so_o private_a man_n undertake_v to_o guide_n themselves_o 3._o see_v that_o in_o our_o err_v together_o with_o our_o guide_n who_o be_v thus_o also_o to_o give_v a_o account_n for_o our_o error_n heb._n 13.17_o so_o long_o as_o it_o be_v in_o non-necessaries_a our_o condition_n be_v not_o dangerous_a but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n there_o may_v be_v a_o great_a fault_n in_o we_o in_o deny_v due_a obedience_n though_o in_o small_a matter_n 4._o see_v that_o those_o who_o most_o vindicate_v the_o liberty_n of_o their_o own_o judgement_n do_v to_o make_v these_o guide_v the_o more_o liable_a to_o fallibility_n in_o non-necessaries_a plead_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v in_o such_o point_n less_o perspicuous_a but_o on_o the_o contrary_a this_o imperspicuity_n of_o they_o in_o the_o scripture_n argue_v the_o more_o need_n in_o they_o of_o
