christ_n and_o the_o promise_n yet_o it_o be_v intrinsical_o and_o extreme_o different_a from_o it_o it_o do_v not_o differ_v from_o it_o in_o respect_n of_o eminency_n or_o degree_n nor_o in_o respect_n of_o existence_n or_o duration_n only_o for_o the_o one_o be_v a_o live_a spring_n and_o the_o other_o be_v a_o decay_a flood_n but_o in_o respect_n of_o formal_a nature_n also_o the_o temporary_a faith_n do_v not_o indeed_o bring_v all_o the_o heart_n and_o settle_v it_o on_o christ_n 4._o there_o be_v this_o justify_n and_o save_v faith_n which_o bestow_v the_o whole_a heart_n to_o behold_v a_o suitable_a fullness_n in_o christ_n he_o must_v know_v two_o thing_n first_o that_o christ_n have_v enough_o in_o he_o to_o answer_v all_o these_o second_o that_o christ_n be_v appoint_v of_o god_n and_o willing_a to_o do_v it_o therefore_o i_o pray_v you_o remember_v first_o that_o christ_n have_v enough_o in_o he_o to_o answer_v all_o the_o exigency_n of_o the_o soul_n thy_o soul_n can_v be_v cast_v on_o any_o sea_n but_o he_o be_v there_o as_o a_o sure_a ship_n and_o harbour_v it_o can_v be_v cast_v upon_o any_o straight_a or_o trouble_v whatsoever_o but_o christ_n be_v able_a to_o relieve_v it_o 1._o for_o the_o sense_n of_o guilt_n why_o in_o this_o there_o be_v that_o in_o christ_n which_o can_v take_v it_o off_o his_o blood_n be_v good_a payment_n and_o it_o be_v shed_v for_o the_o remission_n of_o sin_n he_o can_v make_v perfect_a peace_n and_o satisfy_v to_o the_o utmost_a as_o the_o least_o sin_n need_v his_o i_n it_o so_o the_o great_a do_v not_o exceed_v it_o if_o christ_n will_v but_o offer_v up_o his_o soul_n for_o thou_o his_o merit_n for_o thy_o trespass_n his_o precious_a blood_n for_o thy_o bloody_a crime_n why_o god_n will_v be_v pacify_v for_o his_o blood_n be_v the_o blood_n of_o atonement_n of_o reconciliation_n of_o blot_v out_o of_o peace_n etc._n etc._n 2._o so_o for_o unrighteousness_n why_o there_o be_v that_o in_o christ_n which_o can_v present_v the_o righteous_a unspotted_a unblameable_a which_o can_v present_v thou_o glorious_a without_o spot_n or_o wrinkle_n as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v eph._n 5._o he_o can_v find_v a_o ample_a garment_n without_o any_o rent_n a_o obedience_n which_o be_v perfect_a which_o god_n will_v accept_v for_o which_o he_o will_v justify_v thou_o though_o thy_o own_o righteousness_n for_o matter_n of_o judicial_a justification_n be_v as_o filthy_a rag_n 3._o the_o like_a may_v be_v say_v in_o a_o proportion_n to_o all_o the_o other_o exigency_n though_o thou_o be_v weak_a in_o grace_n feeble_a in_o duty_n yet_o he_o can_v make_v all_o grace_n to_o abound_v and_o he_o can_v strengthen_v the_o feeble_a knee_n and_o he_o can_v comfort_v the_o mourn_a spirit_n and_o he_o can_v open_v heaven_n again_o he_o can_v open_v thy_o eye_n that_o thou_o shall_v see_v thy_o god_n again_o yea_o and_o as_o thou_o have_v do_v former_o as_o thy_o god_n yea_o he_o can_v conquer_v the_o busy_a corruption_n and_o put_v by_o thy_o strong_a temptation_n and_o stand_v by_o thou_o in_o the_o bitter_a opposition_n 2._o nay_o and_o christ_n be_v both_o appoint_v of_o god_n to_o be_v and_o do_v all_o this_o for_o the_o believer_n and_o be_v very_o willing_a he_o be_v make_v unto_o we_o of_o god_n say_v the_o apostle_n 1_o cor._n 1._o 30._o wisdom_n righteousness_n sanctification_n and_o redemption_n therefore_o be_v he_o call_v the_o horn_n of_o salvation_n the_o justifier_n of_o his_o people_n the_o standard_n to_o which_o we_o shall_v repair_v the_o streit_n then_o to_o be_v a_o priest_n for_o thou_o or_o to_o be_v a_o prophet_n for_o thou_o or_o to_o be_v a_o king_n unto_o thou_o o_o no_o god_n have_v appoint_v he_o to_o be_v the_o saviour_n of_o his_o body_n to_o be_v the_o head_n of_o his_o church_n and_o christ_n who_o be_v thus_o able_o invest_v be_v as_o willing_a and_o faithful_a to_o discharge_v and_o perform_v 3._o these_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v know_v and_o grant_v there_o follow_v in_o the_o three_o place_n the_o conjunction_n of_o these_o two_o together_o which_o indeed_o be_v the_o very_a live_n by_o faith_n upon_o christ_n when_o the_o soul_n be_v in_o any_o exâ—gence_n and_o come_v to_o christ_n and_o put_v itself_o upon_o he_o and_o trust_v to_o he_o for_o help_v this_o be_v to_o live_v by_o faith_n on_o christ_n suppoâ—e_v a_o person_n sensible_a of_o much_o guilt_n many_o sinful_a commission_n or_o â—omissions_n lay_v heavy_a and_o sore_o upon_o he_o he_o be_v grieve_v at_o heart_n that_o he_o have_v so_o dishonour_v god_n take_v they_o off_o he_o be_v not_o able_a and_o therefore_o he_o renounce_v all_o in_o himself_o to_o christ_n he_o go_v and_o say_v thus_o o_o bless_a lord_n
