the_o sin_n of_o all_o the_o man_n in_o the_o world_n so_o as_o they_o be_v not_o leave_v destitute_a of_o the_o mean_n of_o remission_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o salvation_n according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o the_o apostle_n 1_o tim._n 2.6_o there_o be_v one_o mediator_n between_o god_n and_o man_n the_o man_n christ_n jesus_n who_o give_v himself_o a_o ransom_n for_o all_o a_o testimony_n in_o due_a purpose_n to_o the_o contrary_a namely_o to_o save_v some_o man_n but_o not_o all_o the_o proof_n whereof_o be_v so_o numerous_a that_o i_o need_v not_o quote_v any_o 2._o because_o if_o christ_n die_v for_o all_o man_n with_o a_o intention_n and_o purpose_n to_o save_v all_o then_o either_o all_o shall_v be_v save_v which_o be_v contradict_v by_o a_o hundred_o place_n of_o scripture_n or_o else_o christ_n purpose_n may_v be_v alter_v but_o his_o purpose_n can_v be_v alter_v or_o disappoint_v and_o therefore_o he_o die_v not_o for_o all_o with_o a_o purpose_n to_o save_v all_o that_o difficult_a and_o knotty_a whether_o a_o unregenerate_a man_n have_v power_n to_o repent_v and_o believe_v and_o so_o be_v save_v if_o he_o will_n mr._n haggar_n answer_v hereto_o in_o the_o affirmative_a in_o page_n the_o 25._o of_o his_o forementioned_a discourse_n i_o answer_v to_o it_o in_o the_o negative_a deny_v that_o a_o natural_a man_n have_v power_n to_o repent_v and_o believe_v by_o the_o energy_n or_o strength_n of_o his_o own_o freewill_n but_o needs_o the_o help_n of_o the_o special_a prevent_a grace_n of_o god_n ere_o he_o can_v be_v convert_v or_o he_o can_v convert_v himself_o for_o the_o full_a open_n and_o enodation_n of_o this_o controversy_n and_o because_o therein_o i_o have_v more_o learned_a adversery_n to_o deal_v with_o then_o anabaptist_n i_o will_v first_o speak_v out_o what_o the_o will_n of_o a_o unregenerate_a man_n be_v able_a to_o do_v towards_o his_o conversion_n without_o the_o help_n of_o god_n special_a efficacious_a grace_n or_o prevent_v grace_n as_o the_o learned_a call_v it_o and_o then_o second_o how_o far_o it_o cooperate_v with_o god_n grace_n in_o his_o conversion_n about_o the_o first_o notice_n be_v to_o be_v take_v of_o a_o threefold_a liberty_n of_o will_n namely_o the_o liberty_n of_o nature_n the_o liberty_n of_o grace_n and_o the_o liberty_n of_o glory_n of_o which_o though_o these_o two_o last_o we_o lose_v by_o adam_n fall_n yet_o the_o first_o be_v not_o lose_v but_o remain_v still_o so_o as_o by_o virtue_n thereof_o the_o will_n have_v liberty_n to_o will_n or_o will_v without_o compulsion_n or_o constraint_n and_o that_o not_o only_o in_o natural_a and_o civil_a action_n but_o also_o in_o moral_a and_o ecclesiastical_a in_o moral_a action_n to_o practice_v virtue_n as_o justice_n temperance_n
