The Copy of a VVarrant under Prince Kuperts hand to the Officers of the Hundred of Winnershly in the County of Northampton BY Virtue of the Authority and Power given to me from our Sovereigne Lord King CHARLES under the Great Seale of England as Generall under His Majesty of all His Majesties Forces of Horse already raised or to be raised within His Majesties Kingdome of England or Dominion of Wales for the defence of the true Protestant Religion His Majesties Person the two Houses of Parliament and their just Priviledges the Liberties and Proprieties of the Subjects I Doe strictly charge and command you and every of you whom it may or shall concerne all delayes pretences and excuses whatsoever set aside immediately after the sight hereof to send into Thomas Iay His Majesties Commissary Generall for the provision of His Horse Forces lying at Ambrose Bartons house in Tosester over against the Talbot all possible provision of Mans meat and horse meat And I doe also hereby strictly charge and command you in like manner to send into Lieutenant Colonell Green His Majestie Engineer lying at the Signe of Betty Bridges or the Running Mare in Tosester aforesaid as many lusty and able Pioneers or Labourers with shovels spades pickaxes mattocks crows of iron hand-barrows bags and baskets to carry earth in as you can possibly find provide within your Constablery in the punctuall performance of these my commands for His Majesties present Service you and every of you whom it may or shall concerne must in no wise faile as you will answer the contrary at your utmost perills as the totall plundering and burning of your houses with what other mischiefes the licensed and hungry Souldiers can inflict upon you And for your so doing this shall be to you and every of you sufficient warrant Given at Easton Parke under my hand and seale at Armes the first day of November Anno 1643. RVPERT To the Constable Officers and Inhabitants of Ratherthopen in Winnershly Hundred in the County of Northampton The Constables are required in person to give account to the Commissary Generall and Engineer of their doings herein
