specify_v to_o authorise_v and_o appoint_v such_o person_n or_o person_n as_o aforesaid_a to_o fetch_v export_n or_o transport_v out_o of_o the_o port_n above_o specify_v unto_o the_o say_a isle_n of_o guernsey_n with_o alderney_n and_o sarke_n in_o any_o one_o year_n account_v the_o year_n from_o the_o first_o day_n of_o january_n aforesaid_a any_o great_a quantity_n of_o wool_n than_o one_o thousand_o tod_n for_o guernsey_n two_o hundred_o tod_n for_o alderney_n and_o one_o hundred_o tod_n for_o sarke_n in_o any_o one_o year_n and_o that_o the_o customer_n of_o the_o port_n of_o southampton_n aforesaid_a shall_v keep_v a_o true_a account_n of_o all_o the_o say_a quantity_n of_o wool_n so_o by_o he_o permit_v to_o be_v load_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n and_o shall_v not_o permit_v any_o great_a quantity_n of_o wool_n to_o be_v load_v then_o by_o this_o act_n be_v prescribe_v in_o any_o one_o year_n to_o either_o of_o the_o say_a island_n respective_o under_o any_o pretence_n whatsoever_o upon_o the_o penalty_n of_o the_o forfeiture_n of_o his_o place_n and_o the_o sum_n of_o one_o hundred_o pound_n in_o money_n one_o moiety_n whereof_o to_o the_o king_n majesty_n his_o heir_n and_o successor_n and_o the_o other_o moiety_n to_o he_o or_o they_o that_o will_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o in_o any_o court_n of_o record_n wherein_o no_o essoign_n protection_n or_o wager_n of_o law_n shall_v be_v allow_v and_o if_o any_o of_o the_o governor_n aforesaid_a or_o any_o of_o their_o or_o either_o of_o their_o deputy_n or_o deputy_n of_o the_o say_a governor_n of_o such_o of_o the_o say_a isle_n shall_v forfeit_v and_o pay_v to_o king_n majesty_n his_o heir_n or_o successor_n the_o sum_n of_o twenty_o pound_n of_o lawful_a money_n of_o england_n for_o every_o tod_n of_o wool_n which_o shall_v be_v so_o license_v to_o be_v export_v over_o and_o above_o the_o rate_n or_o porportion_n of_o wool_n in_o and_o by_o this_o act_n or_o the_o true_a meaning_n thereof_o limit_v or_o appoint_v and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o respective_a governor_n aforesaid_a or_o their_o respective_a deputy_n or_o any_o their_o clerk_n officer_n or_o servant_n for_o the_o grant_n make_v or_o seal_v of_o every_o such_o write_n of_o licence_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a and_o for_o the_o enter_v a_o remembrance_n of_o the_o same_o into_o some_o book_n which_o they_o shall_v have_v and_o keep_v for_o that_o purpose_n may_v have_v and_o take_v the_o sum_n of_o twelve_o penny_n and_o no_o more_o upon_o pain_n of_o the_o university_n and_o be_v it_o hereby_o further_o declare_v that_o every_o college_n and_o hall_n in_o either_o of_o the_o university_n which_o before_o the_o duty_n of_o excise_n be_v impose_v do_v brew_v their_o own_o béer_n and_o ale_n within_o their_o own_o precinct_n and_o size_n it_o out_o to_o their_o respective_a member_n within_o their_o own_o precinct_n only_o be_v not_o liable_a to_o the_o payment_n of_o any_o duty_n of_o excise_n for_o the_o same_o either_o by_o this_o or_o any_o the_o forementioned_a acts._n provide_v also_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v that_o all_o difference_n appeal_n and_o complaint_n that_o shall_v happen_v and_o arise_v between_o party_n and_o party_n county_n complaint_n to_o be_v determine_v in_o the_o proper_a county_n in_o order_n to_o the_o payment_n of_o the_o duty_n of_o excise_n shall_v be_v hear_v and_o determine_v in_o the_o proper_a county_n or_o in_o the_o several_a riding_n and_o division_n of_o yorkshire_n and_o lincolnshire_n where_o they_o shall_v arise_v and_o not_o elsewhere_o fe_n commissioner_n or_o farmer_n may_v take_v no_o fe_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o no_o farmer_n commissioner_n sub-commissioner_n or_o other_o officer_n of_o excise_n shall_v direct_o or_o indirect_o take_v or_o receive_v any_o money_n fee_n or_o reward_n for_o or_o concern_v the_o take_n of_o any_o bond_n or_o give_v any_o receipt_n or_o note_n in_o write_v relate_v to_o the_o excise_n to_o or_o from_o any_o person_n or_o person_n whatsoever_o upon_o pain_n that_o every_o such_o person_n so_o offend_v shall_v for_o every_o such_o offence_n forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o ten_o shilling_n act._n who_o may_v hear_v and_o determine_v matter_n upon_o this_o act._n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n or_o any_o two_o or_o more_o of_o they_o or_o chief_a magistrate_n in_o the_o several_a county_n city_n division_n and_o place_n within_o england_n and_o wales_n respective_o shall_v meet_v once_o in_o every_o month_n in_o their_o respective_a division_n or_o often_o if_o there_o shall_v be_v occasion_n to_o hear_v determine_v and_o to_o adjudge_v all_o matter_n and_o offence_n against_o this_o or_o the_o aforesaid_a acts._n recover_v how_o the_o penalty_n upon_o this_o act_n shall_v be_v dispose_v and_o recover_v and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o one_o three_o part_n of_o all_o fine_n penalty_n and_o forfeiture_n not_o herein_o otherwise_o dispose_v shall_v be_v to_o the_o king_n majesty_n his_o heir_n and_o successor_n &_o one_o other_o three_o part_n to_o the_o poor_a of_o the_o parish_n where_o the_o offence_n shall_v be_v commit_v &_o the_o other_o three_o part_n to_o he_o that_o shall_v inform_v and_o sue_v for_o the_o same_o and_o that_o all_o fine_n penalty_n and_o forfeiture_n for_o which_o no_o remedy_n be_v ordain_v for_o recovery_n thereof_o by_o this_o act_n shall_v be_v recover_v by_o action_n of_o debt_n bill_n plaint_n or_o information_n in_o any_o court_n of_o record_n within_o such_o county_n city_n or_o corporation_n where_o the_o offence_n shall_v be_v commit_v or_o by_o such_o other_o way_n and_o mean_n and_o in_o such_o manner_n as_o by_o the_o say_v former_a act_n be_v direct_v and_o appoint_v thereof_o appeal_v for_o matter_n in_o london_n and_o the_o limit_n thereof_o provide_v always_o that_o after_o the_o say_v three_o day_n of_o september_n no_o appeal_n in_o any_o matter_n or_o cause_n of_o excise_n within_o the_o immediate_a limit_n of_o the_o chief_a office_n of_o london_n nor_o within_o the_o limit_n of_o the_o present_a farm_n of_o london_n during_o the_o continuance_n of_o such_o farm_n shall_v be_v admit_v unless_o the_o same_o be_v bring_v within_o two_o month_n next_o after_o the_o first_o judgement_n and_o notice_n thereof_o give_v or_o leave_v at_o the_o dwellinghouse_n of_o the_o party_n or_o party_n concern_v therein_o nor_o shall_v any_o appeal_n in_o any_o matter_n or_o cause_n of_o excise_n in_o any_o other_o county_n city_n town_n or_o place_n be_v admit_v unless_o the_o same_o be_v bring_v within_o four_o month_n after_o the_o first_o judgement_n and_o notice_n give_v as_o aforesaid_a any_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o provide_v nevertheless_o and_o it_o be_v hereby_o enact_v that_o no_o
that_o purpose_n and_o that_o the_o respective_a sheriff_n shall_v be_v allow_v or_o pay_v from_o the_o king_n upon_o their_o respective_a account_n in_o the_o exchequer_n all_o such_o charge_n by_o they_o expend_v for_o convey_v embarque_a and_o transport_v of_o such_o person_n which_o shall_v be_v allow_v by_o the_o say_v respective_a court_n from_o whence_o they_o receive_v their_o respective_a warrant_n and_o which_o shall_v not_o have_v be_v by_o any_o of_o the_o way_n aforementioned_a pay_v secure_v or_o reimburse_v unto_o they_o as_o aforesaid_a l._n how_o the_o offender_n may_v be_v discharge_v upon_o payment_n of_o 100_o l._n provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v that_o in_o case_n the_o offender_n so_o indict_v and_o convict_v for_o the_o say_v three_o offence_n shall_v pay_v into_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o register_n or_o clerk_n of_o the_o court_n or_o session_n where_o he_o shall_v be_v convict_v before_o the_o say_a court_n or_o session_n shall_v be_v end_v the_o sum_n of_o one_o hundred_o pound_n that_o then_o the_o say_a offender_n shall_v be_v discharge_v from_o imprisonment_n and_o transportation_n and_o the_o judgement_n for_o the_o same_o offence_n punishment_n of_o offender_n after_o the_o three_o offence_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v that_o the_o like_a imprisonment_n indictment_n arraignment_n and_o proceed_n shall_v be_v against_o every_o such_o offender_n as_o often_o as_o he_o shall_v again_o offend_v after_o such_o three_o offence_n nevertheless_o be_v dischargeable_a and_o discharge_v by_o the_o payment_n of_o the_o like_a sum_n as_o be_v pay_v by_o such_o offender_n for_o he_o or_o her_o say_a offence_n next_o before_o commit_v together_o with_o the_o additional_a and_o increase_v sum_n of_o one_o hundred_o pound_n more_o upon_o every_o new_a offence_n commit_v the_o say_v respective_a sum_n to_o be_v pay_v as_o aforesaid_a and_o to_o be_v dispose_v of_o as_o follow_v viz_o the_o one_o moiety_n for_o the_o repair_n of_o the_o parish_n church_n or_o church_n dispose_v how_o the_o say_a penalty_n of_o 100_o l._n shall_v be_v dispose_v chappel_n or_o chapel_n of_o such_o parish_n within_o which_o such_o conventicle_n assembly_n or_o meeting_n shall_v be_v hold_v and_o the_o other_o moiety_n to_o the_o repair_n of_o the_o highway_n of_o the_o say_a parish_n or_o parish_n if_o need_v require_v or_o otherwise_o for_o the_o amendment_n of_o such_o highway_n as_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n at_o their_o respective_a quarter-session_n shall_v direct_v and_o appoint_v and_o if_o any_o constable_n headborough_z or_o tythingman_n shall_v neglect_v to_o execute_v any_o the_o say_a warrant_n make_v unto_o they_o for_o sequester_v distrain_v and_o sell_v any_o of_o the_o good_n and_o chattel_n of_o any_o offender_n against_o this_o act_n for_o the_o levy_v such_o sum_n of_o money_n as_o shall_v be_v impose_v for_o the_o first_o or_o second_o offence_n he_o shall_v forfeit_v for_o every_o such_o neglect_n the_o sum_n of_o five_o pound_n of_o lawful_a money_n of_o england_n the_o one_o moiety_n thereof_o to_o the_o king_n and_o the_o other_o moiety_n to_o he_o that_o will_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o in_o any_o of_o the_o king_n court_n of_o record_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a and_o if_o any_o person_n be_v at_o any_o time_n sue_v for_o put_v in_o execution_n any_o of_o the_o power_n contain_v in_o this_o act_n cost_v person_n sue_v for_o execute_v this_o act_n may_v plead_v the_o general_n issue_n and_o recover_v treble_a cost_v such_o person_n shall_v and_o may_v plead_v the_o general_a issue_n and_o give_v the_o special_a matter_n in_o evidence_n and_o if_o the_o plaintiff_n be_v nonsuit_n or_o a_o verdict_n pass_v for_o the_o defendant_n thereupon_o or_o if_o the_o plaintiff_n discontinue_v his_o action_n or_o if_o upon_o demurrer_n judgement_n be_v give_v for_o the_o defendant_n every_o such_o defendant_n shall_v have_v his_o or_o their_o treble_n cost_v transportation_n felony_n to_o escape_v after_o conviction_n or_o to_o return_v after_o transportation_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v that_o if_o any_o person_n against_o who_o judgement_n of_o transportation_n shall_v be_v give_v in_o manner_n aforesaid_a shall_v make_v escape_n before_o transportation_n or_o be_v transport_v as_o aforesaid_a shall_v return_v unto_o this_o realm_n of_o england_n dominion_n of_o wales_n and_o town_n of_o berwick_n upon_o tweed_n without_o the_o special_a licence_n of_o his_o majesty_n his_o heir_n and_o successor_n in_o that_o behalf_n first_o have_v and_o obtain_v that_o the_o party_n so_o escape_v or_o return_v shall_v be_v adjudge_v a_o felon_n and_o shall_v suffer_v death_n as_o in_o case_n of_o felony_n without_o benefit_n of_o clergy_n and_o shall_v forfeit_v and_o lose_v to_o his_o majesty_n all_o his_o or_o her_o good_n and_o chattel_n for_o ever_o and_o shall_v further_o lose_v to_o his_o majesty_n all_o his_o or_o her_o land_n tenement_n and_o hereditament_n for_o and_o during_o the_o life_n only_o of_o such_o offender_n and_o no_o long_o and_o that_o the_o wife_n of_o any_o such_o offender_n by_o force_n of_o this_o act_n shall_v not_o lose_v her_o dower_n nor_o shall_v any_o corruption_n of_o blood_n grow_v or_o be_v by_o reason_n of_o any_o such_o offence_n mention_v in_o this_o act_n but_o that_o the_o heir_n of_o every_o such_o offender_n by_o force_n of_o this_o act_n shall_v and_o may_v after_o the_o death_n of_o such_o offender_n have_v and_o enjoy_v the_o land_n tenement_n and_o hereditament_n of_o such_o offender_n as_o if_o this_o act_n have_v not_o be_v make_v conventicle_n seditious_a and_o tumultuous_a meeting_n and_o conventicle_n and_o for_o better_a prevent_v of_o the_o mischief_n which_o may_v grow_v by_o such_o seditious_a and_o tumultuous_a meeting_n under_o pretence_n of_o religious_a worship_n be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o lieutenant_n or_o deputy-lieutenant_n or_o any_o commissioned_n officer_n of_o the_o militia_n or_o any_o other_o of_o his_o majesty_n force_n with_o such_o troop_n or_o company_n of_o horse_n or_o foot_n and_o also_o the_o sheriff_n and_o justice_n of_o peace_n and_o other_o magistrate_n and_o minister_n of_o justice_n or_o any_o of_o they_o joint_o or_o several_o within_o any_o of_o the_o county_n or_o place_n within_o this_o kingdom_n of_o england_n dominion_n of_o wales_n or_o town_n of_o berwick_n upon_o tweed_n with_o such_o other_o assistance_n as_o they_o shall_v think_v meet_a or_o can_v get_v in_o readiness_n with_o the_o soon_o on_o certificate_n make_v to_o they_o respective_o under_o the_o hand_n and_o seal_v of_o any_o one_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n or_o chief_a magistrate_n as_o aforesaid_a of_o his_o particular_a information_n or_o knowledge_n of_o such_o unlawful_a meeting_n or_o conventicle_n hold_v or_o to_o be_v hold_v in_o their_o respective_a county_n or_o place_n land_n of_o inheritance_n for_o the_o good_a purpose_n hereafter_o mention_v be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_v two_o thousand_o pound_n be_v lay_v out_o in_o purchase_n of_o land_n of_o inheritance_n by_o order_n of_o the_o general_a session_n of_o the_o peace_n hereafter_o at_o any_o time_n to_o be_v hold_v in_o the_o name_n of_o such_o person_n as_o by_o such_o order_n shall_v be_v appoint_v item_n that_o the_o say_a house_n with_o the_o ground_n therewith_o enclose_v be_v have_v and_o use_v as_o a_o common_a gaol_n and_o workhouse_n for_o the_o say_a county_n in_o manner_n as_o be_v after_o express_v item_n that_o a_o overséer_o be_v therein_o place_v by_o like_a order_n and_o by_o like_a order_n be_v removable_a from_o time_n to_o time_n which_o
