to_o the_o supreme_a authority_n the_o parliament_n of_o the_o commonwealth_n of_o england_n the_o humble_a petition_n of_o william_n caddy_n of_o taunton_n and_o nicholas_n ward_n of_o chard_n in_o the_o county_n of_o somerset_n show_v that_o your_o petitioner_n have_v faithful_o serve_v your_o honour_n with_o the_o expense_n of_o their_o dear_a blood_n and_o estate_n from_o the_o very_a beginning_n of_o the_o late_a rrouble_n in_o oppose_v the_o late_a king_n and_o his_o party_n and_o especial_o sir_n john_n stowel_n and_o his_o bloody_a adherent_n who_o be_v the_o first_o that_o draw_v blood_n from_o your_o friend_n in_o the_o west_n of_o england_n that_o your_o petitioner_n beside_o the_o plunder_n and_o loss_n of_o their_o estate_n by_o the_o say_a sir_n john_n stowel_n and_o his_o party_n have_v receive_v such_o wound_n and_o maim_n in_o their_o body_n that_o they_o be_v disable_v to_o labour_n in_o their_o lawful_a calling_n and_o your_o petitioner_n caddy_n have_v lose_v three_o son_n in_o your_o service_n who_o be_v as_o the_o staff_n of_o his_o age_n and_o himself_o cast_v into_o a_o loathsome_a goal_n at_o ilchester_n where_o he_o be_v fourteen_o month_n together_o lay_v in_o iron_n by_o the_o immediate_a command_n of_o sir_n john_n stowel_n for_o no_o other_o cause_n but_o his_o faithfulness_n to_o the_o parliament_n and_o your_o petitioner_n ward_n for_o the_o same_o cause_n have_v his_o nose_n and_o one_o of_o his_o finger_n cut_v off_o and_o one_o of_o his_o eye_n cut_v out_o with_o twenty_o six_o wound_n at_o the_o same_o time_n by_o sir_n john_n stowel_n own_o eruel_a hand_n and_o that_o in_o cold_a blood_n your_o say_a petitioner_n ward_n be_v unarm_v and_o all_o this_o without_o any_o provocation_n from_o your_o petitioner_n that_o your_o petitioner_n be_v by_o this_o mean_n utter_o undo_v and_o whereas_o heretofore_o they_o be_v by_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n able_a to_o relieve_v other_o they_o be_v now_o like_a to_o perish_v for_o want_v of_o food_n with_o their_o wife_n and_o child_n that_o your_o petitioner_n in_o order_n to_o their_o relief_n six_o year_n since_o bring_v their_o several_a action_n against_o sir_n john_n stowel_n wherein_o they_o obtain_v judgement_n namely_o your_o petitioner_n caddy_n for_o 212_o li_fw-mi and_o your_o petitioner_n ward_n for_o 107_o li_fw-mi 10_o s._n that_o these_o judgement_n have_v be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v a_o remedy_n that_o they_o have_v prove_v a_o great_a increase_n of_o their_o misery_n in_o respect_n they_o can_v get_v no_o benefit_n thereby_o and_o have_v spend_v as_o much_o money_n in_o their_o journey_n and_o attendance_n as_o the_o say_a judgement_n amount_v unto_o that_o your_o petitioner_n yet_o further_o to_o increase_v their_o misery_n have_v be_v late_o summon_v by_o sir_n john_n stowel_n from_o their_o country_n sevenscore_o mile_n from_o london_n to_o appear_v and_o answer_v his_o petition_n before_o the_o honourable_a commissioner_n for_o article_n in_o relation_n to_o their_o say_a judgement_n where_o he_o have_v cause_v your_o petitioner_n to_o attend_v for_o the_o space_n of_o eight_o week_n last_o past_a their_o wife_n and_o child_n like_v to_o starve_v at_o home_n in_o the_o mean_a time_n your_o petitioner_n no_o way_n able_a to_o relieve_v they_o they_o petition_v the_o honourable_a commissioner_n for_o article_n and_o be_v only_o permit_v into_o their_o country_n till_o further_a order_n of_o summons_n from_o the_o say_a sir_n john_n stowel_n as_o may_v appear_v by_o the_o copy_n of_o the_o say_a order_n hereunto_o annex_v your_o petitioner_n therefore_o in_o this_o their_o great_a extremity_n do_v humble_o address_v themselves_o to_o your_o honour_n as_o their_o last_o refuge_n and_o do_v humble_o beseech_v you_o amidst_o your_o many_o weighty_a affair_n so_o far_o to_o cast_v your_o gracious_a eye_n on_o this_o their_o sad_a and_o just_a complaint_n that_o some_o relief_n may_v be_v afford_v they_o by_o your_o mean_n that_o they_o with_o their_o poor_a wife_n and_o child_n may_v not_o utter_o perish_v and_o be_v ●_z long_o a_o reproach_n to_o your_o enemy_n who_o be_v
