A True Coppie of a Prophesie which was found in old ancient house of one Master Truswell sometime Recorder of a Towne in Lincolne-shire Which in all mens judgements was not unwritten these 300 yeares And supposed to be seene still in a writing of Parcment at Stow in the aforesaid Countie being the mother Church of Lincolne Minster Whereunto is added Mother Shiptons Prophesies LONDON Printed for Henry Marsh 1642. A Prophesie of a King that shall win the Holy Crosse prophesied by many and their names as followeth FIrst Saint Thomas calleth him a virgin King in brightnesse like an Angell 2 Merlin calleth him a Bull threefold of nature that is to say true Inheritour of England Ireland and Castile 3 Iohn the Hermit calleth him the King of H●rds that is to say the King of many Hoasts and Kingdomes 4 Merlin Sylvester calleth him the King of Wretches that is to say there shall be so much pride leach●rie sin and theft at his beginning that he shall have much work to correct them 5 Albion the Monk of Al●●ine calleth him a Lyon of the aire that shall take his wings and flye to Rome and shall be Emperour and his name shall be Edward 6 Alphion the Proph●t calleth him the Wester●e Beast which displayeth th● black Bull with the golden hor●es first in the East and in his d●yes shall be destroyed the false Preachers for their unt●uth and he shall win a great part of the world and make a free not be governed by no man but by God and himselfe and in his dayes shall Friars and Monks for their untruths and falshood suffer punishment and he shall be c●lled Edward 8 Sybill the wise calleth him The second Lyon of all beasts which shall win the holy Crosse and in his yeares shall be destroyed Friars and Charmers 9 David in the Psalmes calleth him an Vnicorne which shall never turne his face Christ so they shall goe bare footed and bare legged without shirts on their backs and money in their purses and he shall win the holy Crosse and bring it into France he shall make peace thorowout the wh●le world and shall be buried with the three Kings of Colen and when hee is buried a●●yce shall say Lye further my Christian brethren here is our fourth brother 14 Saint Bede the Priest calleth him a Lyon of a cleane vessell which by the hands of him much of the Church of England shall be punished for their examples given and he shall be Protectour over all Christendome The Prophesie followeth THe Lilly shall remaine in a merry world and hee shall be moved against the seed of the Lyon and hee shall stand on one fide amongst thrones of his Kingdome and Countrey And there shall come the Son of man bearing three wild beasts in his Armes which Kingdome is the Land of the Moone which is to be dread thorowout all the world with a company of people he shall passe many waters and hee shall come to the Land of the Lyon looking for help with the beasts of his owne Countrey And in that yeare there shall come an Eagle out of the f●●st and his wings spred with the beames of the son of man and that yeare shall be destroyed Castles upon Thames and there shall be great feare over the whole world and in a part of the Land there shall be great battels amongst many Kingdomes That day shall be the bloudy field and the Lilly shall lose his Crowne and therewith shall be crowned the Son of man And in the fourth yeere many battels shall be for the faith and most of the world shall be stoopen but the Son of man with the Eagle shall be preferred and there shall be u●iversall peace over the whole world then shall the Son of man receive a ma●vellous token and there shall bes great plentie of all manner of fruits and then shall hee goe to the Land of the Crosse The Son of man is the King of England the Lilly is the French King the Lyon is Flanders alias Scotland the Moone is England and W●les the Son is France the Eagle is the Emperour the Seed alias Head of the world is the Pope the marvellous token is the Holy Crosse And the Coppie of this Pro●hesie was found in an old antient
