A SCHOLASTICALL determination of Usurie upon the disputing of that quaestion by certeine learned Diuines The Praemble to the Disputants AS you haue learnedlie disputed this quaestion of Usurie debated it pro con for the cleering of the Trueth so now let mee lighting my candle at the fire stricken out of these flints make an end of this Conference drawing my speech to three heads in the first whereof I will shew what usurie is in the second prove it to be unlawfull in the third answer the arguments which are urged for the lawfulnesse of it 1 What Vsurie is will best appeare by the Notation of the name by the definition and by the diuision 1 The Notation of the name VSurie hath his name of Usura in Latine but there is this difference betweene them That Usura in Latine is taken according to his proper and generall signification sometime for the same that the masculine a Non Marcel de prop. serm Si pon in epig. 1. usus is as b Plant. in Amphyl usurámque ejus corporis coepit sibi hee tooke the use of her bodie c Cic. pro Sylla Lucísne hanc usuram eripere vis wilt thou take away
