to_o the_o parliament_n of_o the_o commonwealth_n of_o england_n scotland_n and_o jreland_n the_o humble_a petition_v of_o several_a well_o affect_a person_n purchaser_n of_o the_o estate_n of_o william_n lord_n craven_a for_o and_o on_o the_o behalf_n of_o themselves_o and_o other_o the_o purchaser_n of_o the_o estate_n of_o the_o say_a lord_n craven_n show_v that_o your_o petitioner_n be_v invite_v and_o encourage_v by_o a_o act_n of_o parliament_n date_v four_o of_o august_n 1652._o whereby_o among_o other_o thing_n the_o say_a estate_n be_v declare_v and_o adjudge_v to_o be_v just_o forfeit_v to_o the_o commonwealth_n for_o treason_n and_o appoint_v to_o be_v sell_v for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o navy_n and_o look_v upon_o a_o act_n of_o parliament_n as_o the_o high_a assurance_n and_o great_a security_n and_o out_o of_o a_o deep_a sense_n of_o the_o utgent_a necessity_n of_o the_o than_o parliament_n for_o considerable_a sum_n of_o money_n to_o defray_v the_o vast_a charge_n of_o the_o navy_n of_o this_o commonwealth_n engage_v in_o the_o war_n with_o the_o dutch_a upon_o the_o prosperous_a conduct_n and_o good_a success_n whereof_o depend_v the_o welfare_n if_o not_o the_o very_a being_n of_o this_o common-wealth_n do_v willing_o advance_v upon_o the_o security_n of_o the_o say_a act_n some_o their_o whole_a estate_n other_o very_o considerable_a sum_n of_o money_n for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o say_a navy_n that_o your_o petitioner_n have_v since_o purchase_v most_o part_n of_o the_o estate_n of_o the_o say_a lord_n craven_n pay_v or_o secure_v their_o purchase_n money_n amont_v to_o two_o hundred_o and_o fifty_o thousand_o pound_n or_o thereabouts_o and_o the_o premise_n so_o purchase_v be_v lega_o vest_v and_o execute_v in_o your_o petitioner_n according_a to_o their_o rspeective_a contract_n that_o nevertheless_o your_o petitioner_n understand_v that_o the_o say_a lord_n craven_n have_v peticion_v this_o high_a and_o honerable_a court_n that_o so_o much_o of_o the_o say_a act_n as_o relate_v to_o he_o and_o his_o estate_n may_v be_v repeal_v and_o consequent_o your_o petitioner_n out_v of_o their_o lawful_a estate_n purchase_v as_o aforesaid_a which_o beside_o the_o ruin_n of_o your_o petitioner_n and_o friend_n will_v graifie_v your_o enemy_n and_o open_v a_o door_n to_o all_o delinquent_n to_o make_v appeal_n to_o this_o or_o succeed_a parliament_n upon_o pretence_n of_o jniury_n do_v they_o in_o sale_n of_o their_o estate_n yea_o one_o precedent_n of_o this_o nature_n will_v shake_v the_o title_n of_o all_o man_n who_o have_v purchase_v any_o delinquent_n estate_n act_n of_o parliament_n will_v be_v render_v contemptible_a and_o no_o better_o than_o break_a reed_n to_o be_v rely_v upon_o the_o faith_n of_o parliament_n blemish_v and_o no_o assurance_n leave_v in_o publque_fw-fr transaction_n either_o with_o foreign_a nation_n or_o at_o home_n to_o be_v confide_v in_o with_o safe_o therefore_o your_o petitioner_n humble_o implore_v your_o honour_n to_o be_v very_o tender_a of_o your_o petitioner_n jnterest_n and_o just_a estate_n purchase_v as_o aforesaid_a and_o be_v please_v rather_o to_o confirm_v by_o a_o further_a act_n of_o parliament_n their_o say_a purchase_n as_o the_o last_o parliament_n do_v in_o the_o case_n of_o the_o purchase_n of_o the_o estate_n of_o sr._n john_n stowell_n knight_n then_o upon_o any_o pretence_n to_o weaken_v and_o jnvalidate_v the_o same_o and_o your_o peticinors_n shall_v ever_o pray_v etc._n etc._n
