justice_n of_o peace_n within_o the_o limit_n of_o their_o commission_n to_o hear_v &_o determine_v offence_n of_o this_o kind_n and_o to_o grant_v their_o warrant_n for_o levy_v of_o fines_n and_o who_o be_v otherwise_o likely_a to_o pay_v double_a duty_n that_o no_o tobacco_n of_o the_o growth_n of_o mary-land_n though_o lade_v in_o ship_n ride_v in_o any_o harbour_n in_o virginia_n shall_v be_v liable_a to_o pay_v any_o virginia_n duty_n from_o the_o date_n of_o this_o act_n until_o the_o first_o of_o october_n which_o shall_v be_v in_o the_o year_n of_o our_o lord_n 1668._o nor_o after_o if_o the_o next_o assembly_n find_v cause_n to_o continue_v it_o repeal_v how_o long_o this_o act_n shall_v continue_v in_o force_n and_o upon_o what_o condition_n to_o be_v repeal_v provide_v that_o if_o the_o government_n of_o mary-land_n do_v lay_v impost_n upon_o virginia-tobacco_n ship_v in_o ship_n ride_v in_o their_o harbour_n than_o this_o act_n to_o be_v absolute_o void_a and_o bondage_n whereas_o some_o doubt_n have_v arisen_a whether_o child_n that_o be_v slave_n by_o birth_n &_o by_o the_o charity_n &_o piety_n of_o the_o owner_n make_v partaker_n of_o the_o bless_a if_o the_o servant_n shall_v allege_v he_o have_v produce_v indenture_n to_o be_v produce_v but_o can_v as_o then_o produce_v it_o the_o say_a justice_n shall_v in_o the_o case_n assign_v he_o one_o male_n till_o one_o and_o twenty_o year_n of_o age_n and_o the_o female_n to_o other_o necessary_a employment_n until_o eighteen_o year_n of_o age_n and_o no_o long_o and_o the_o church_n warden_n of_o every_o parish_n shall_v be_v strict_o enjoin_v by_o the_o court_n to_o give_v a_o account_n annual_o at_o their_o orphan_n court_n of_o all_o such_o child_n within_o their_o parish_n as_o they_o city_n twenty_o mile_n and_o upward_o and_o that_o all_o witness_n have_v sixty_o pound_n of_o tobacco_n per_fw-la diem_fw-la for_o their_o expense_n the_o time_n of_o their_o attendance_n there_o iii_o a_o act_n prohibit_v the_o justice_n of_o the_o several_a county-court_n for_o levy_v tobacco_n upon_o the_o people_n for_o their_o accommodation_n and_o expense_n whilst_o they_o be_v keep_v court._n whereas_o it_o have_v be_v complain_v of_o to_o this_o grand_a assembly_n that_o it_o have_v be_v the_o frequent_a practice_n of_o some_o of_o the_o justice_n of_o the_o several_a and_o satisfy_v their_o expense_n and_o accommodation_n whilst_o they_o be_v hold_v court_n and_o attend_v thereupon_o which_o practice_n be_v by_o the_o grand_a assembly_n adjudge_v illegal_a be_v it_o therefore_o enact_v by_o the_o governor_n council_n and_o burgess_n of_o this_o grand_a assembly_n and_o by_o the_o authority_n thereof_o that_o no_o county_n from_o henceforth_o pay_v or_o allow_v for_o accommodation_n of_o the_o justice_n at_o their_o county-court_n any_o order_n usuage_v or_o custom_n to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o iv_o a_o act_n command_v such_o indian_n who_o keep_v hog_n to_o mark_v the_o same_o whereas_o complaint_n have_v be_v make_v that_o divers_a the_o inhabitant_n of_o this_o country_n have_v receive_v mischief_n by_o the_o indian_n in_o their_o stock_n of_o hog_n against_o who_o rare_o any_o legal_a proof_n can_v be_v produce_v to_o discover_v and_o convict_v they_o be_v it_o therefore_o enact_v by_o the_o governor_n council_n and_o under_o the_o penalty_n of_o two_o hundred_o pound_n of_o tobacco_n for_o every_o barrel_n of_o corn_n provision_n no_o corn_n shall_v be_v export_v under_o penalty_n of_o pay_v 200._o pound_n of_o tobacco_n for_o every_o barrel_n thereof_o and_o twice_o the_o price_n of_o other_o provision_n and_o double_a the_o price_n of_o any_o other_o provision_n to_o be_v pay_v by_o the_o party_n export_v it_o provide_v nevertheless_o that_o it_o shall_v and_o may_v be_v lawful_a for_o those_o who_o have_v already_o load_v any_o corn_n or_o provision_n on_o board_n and_o have_v purchase_v other_o to_o lade_v the_o same_o within_o the_o time_n afore_o limit_v but_o not_o afterward_o and_o the_o same_o so_o lade_v to_o export_v without_o impeachment_n any_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n to_o the_o
