public_a good_a but_o not_o weigh_v so_o full_o all_o consequence_n of_o thing_n it_o may_v and_o be_v not_o unlike_a to_o prove_v that_o upon_o the_o end_n of_o this_o parliament_n and_o the_o election_n of_o new_a the_o constitution_n of_o succeed_a parliament_n as_o to_o the_o person_n elect_v may_v prove_v for_o the_o worse_a many_o way_n yet_o since_o neither_o in_o the_o present_a purge_n of_o this_o parliament_n nor_o in_o the_o election_n of_o new_a we_o can_v promise_v to_o ourselves_o or_o the_o kingdom_n a_o assurance_n of_o justice_n or_o other_o positive_a good_a from_o the_o hand_n of_o man_n but_o those_o who_o for_o present_a appear_v most_o righteous_a and_o most_o for_o common_a good_a have_v a_o unlimited_a power_n fix_v in_o they_o during_o life_n or_o pleasure_n in_o time_n may_v become_v corrupt_a or_o settle_v into_o party_n or_o faction_n or_o on_o the_o other_o side_n in_o case_n of_o new_a election_n those_o that_o shall_v so_o succeed_v may_v prove_v as_o bad_a or_o worse_o than_o the_o former_a we_o therefore_o humble_o conceive_v that_o of_o two_o inconvenience_n the_o less_o be_v to_o be_v choose_v the_o main_a thing_n to_o be_v intend_v in_o this_o case_n and_o beyond_o which_o humane_a providence_n can_v reach_v as_o to_o any_o assurance_n of_o positive_a good_a seem_v to_o be_v this_o viz._n to_o provide_v that_o however_o unjust_a or_o corrupt_a the_o person_n of_o parliament-man_n in_o present_a or_o future_a may_v prove_v or_o whatever_o ill_o they_o may_v do_v to_o particular_a party_n or_o to_o the_o whole_a in_o particular_a thing_n during_o their_o respective_a term_n or_o period_n yet_o they_o shall_v not_o have_v the_o temptation_n or_o advantage_n of_o a_o unlimited_a power_n fix_v in_o they_o during_o their_o own_o pleasure_n whereby_o to_o perpetuate_v injustice_n and_o oppression_n upon_o any_o without_o end_n or_o remedy_n or_o to_o advance_v and_o uphold_v any_o one_o particular_a party_n faction_n or_o interest_n whatsoever_o to_o the_o oppression_n or_o prejudice_n of_o the_o community_n and_o the_o enslave_v of_o the_o kingdom_n unto_o all_o posterity_n but_o that_o the_o people_n may_v have_v a_o equal_a hope_n or_o possibility_n if_o they_o have_v make_v a_o ill_a choice_n at_o one_o time_n to_o mend_v it_o in_o another_o and_o the_o member_n of_o the_o house_n themselves_o that_o with_o the_o break_n of_o this_o army_n as_o aforesaid_a they_o have_v in_o the_o like_a manner_n endeavour_v under_o the_o pretence_n of_o the_o service_n of_o ireland_n to_o raise_v a_o new_a officer_n and_o soldier_n have_v so_o receive_v at_o london_n or_o elsewhere_o 4._o that_o no_o officer_n or_o soldier_n who_o have_v desert_v the_o army_n shall_v have_v any_o more_o pay_v they_o as_o for_o arrear_n until_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o army_n shall_v first_o be_v satisfy_v in_o point_n of_o their_o arrear_n 5._o whereas_o there_o have_v be_v several_a design_n and_o endeavour_n towards_o london_n and_o other_o secret_a practice_n to_o engage_v the_o kingdom_n in_o a_o second_o war_n we_o further_o desire_v that_o during_o the_o debate_n and_o transaction_n of_o this_o business_n betwixt_o the_o parliament_n and_o the_o army_n the_o parliament_n will_v not_o suffer_v any_o new_a force_n to_o be_v raise_v within_o this_o kingdom_n or_o any_o force_n to_o be_v invite_v or_o admit_v out_o of_o any_o other_o kingdom_n to_o this_o or_o any_o thing_n else_o to_o be_v do_v that_o may_v carry_v the_o face_n of_o a_o new_a war_n or_o of_o preparation_n thereunto_o
