new_a instance_n of_o virtue_n and_o vice_n he_o demand_v whether_o they_o be_v new_a as_o virtue_n and_o vice_n or_o as_o instance_n 241._o this_o be_v a_o captious_a question_n and_o though_o i_o suspect_v some_o subtle_a plot_n yet_o i_o have_v not_o sagacity_n enough_o to_o find_v out_o either_o its_o design_n or_o its_o sophistry_n and_o therefore_o i_o shall_v only_o answer_v like_o a_o plain_a and_o cautious_a man_n that_o they_o be_v new_a neither_o as_o instance_n nor_o as_o virtue_n and_o vice_n but_o as_o instance_n of_o virtue_n and_o vice_n and_o than_o what_o become_v of_o not_o for_o any_o of_o the_o new_a virtue_n that_o he_o have_v late_o observe_v in_o the_o world_n likely_a enough_o ibid._n for_o loyalty_n be_v one_o of_o the_o chief_a but_o they_o be_v fine_a day_n when_o rebellion_n and_o sacrilege_n be_v sign_n of_o grace_n and_o man_n can_v keep_v up_o a_o dear_a and_o intimate_a communion_n with_o god_n in_o way_n of_o plunder_v and_o perjury_n ah_o those_o be_v precious_a and_o gospel-time_n you_o see_v i_o must_v either_o trifle_n with_o this_o man_n or_o altogether_o hold_v my_o peace_n his_o objection_n be_v not_o capable_a of_o solid_a that_o this_o wretch_n have_v not_o vouch_v upon_o divine_a authority_n he_o be_v a_o person_n of_o such_o a_o rank_a complexion_n that_o he_o will_v have_v vied_z with_o mahomet_n himself_o both_o for_o boldness_n and_o imposture_n the_o divine_a majesty_n never_o have_v a_o dear_a and_o more_o familiar_a achitophel_n than_o he_o they_o be_v always_o through_o the_o whole_a course_n of_o the_o more_o especial_o to_o abet_v this_o wild_a and_o unaccountable_a principle_n that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v the_o only_a adequate_a rule_n of_o institute_v worship_n which_o they_o lie_v down_o best_a and_o most_o effectual_a instrument_n of_o public_a happiness_n and_o there_o lie_v the_o very_a strength_n and_o sinew_n of_o my_o argument_n that_o if_o magistrate_n be_v vest_v with_o so_o
