and_o hear_v the_o minister_n express_o tell_v they_o what_o their_o part_n and_o duty_n be_v their_z coming_z and_o stand_v in_o that_o relation_n be_v a_o plain_a signification_n of_o consent_n and_o render_v they_o oblige_v covenanter_n or_o sponsor_n 5._o these_o sponsor_n be_v not_o oblige_v to_o profess_v that_o the_o child_n be_v they_o by_o adoption_n or_o any_o propriety_n and_o so_o far_o be_v any_o such_o adopt_v or_o own_v from_o their_o purpose_n that_o we_o never_o in_o all_o our_o life_n know_v any_o godfather_n or_o godmother_n as_o such_o not_o have_v before_o take_v the_o child_n as_o they_o on_o other_o reason_n that_o ever_o become_v a_o sponsor_n with_o such_o a_o signify_v intent_n 6._o in_o most_o country_n parish_n that_o we_o have_v know_v a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o communicant_n seem_v ignorant_a themselves_o of_o what_o be_v to_o be_v undertake_v for_o the_o baptize_v as_o we_o judge_v by_o our_o trial_n where_o we_o have_v live_v and_o the_o signification_n that_o they_o have_v any_o purpose_n at_o all_o to_o perform_v what_o the_o church_n charge_v on_o they_o and_o they_o there_o undertake_v as_o their_o part_n and_o duty_n 8._o nor_o do_v we_o ever_o know_v one_o in_o all_o our_o life_n that_o as_o a_o godfather_n or_o godmother_n do_v perform_v it_o viz._n to_o see_v themselves_o that_o the_o child_n be_v teach_v his_o covenant_n as_o soon_o as_o he_o be_v able_a to_o learn_v and_o to_o provide_v that_o he_o be_v teach_v all_o before_o recite_v his_o creed_n etc._n etc._n and_o all_o thing_n which_o a_o christian_a ought_v to_o know_v and_o believe_v to_o his_o soul_n health_n and_o that_o he_o bâ—virâ—uoâ—sly_o bring_v up_o to_o lead_v a_o godly_a and_o a_o christian_a life_n but_o they_o leave_v they_o to_o the_o
