at_o the_o beginning_n into_o this_o opinion_n to_o believe_v that_o they_o err_v and_o go_v very_o slow_o forward_a when_o paul_n be_v their_o teacher_n but_o afterwards_o they_o be_v seduce_v by_o the_o false_a apostle_n and_o fall_v clean_o away_o from_o the_o truth_n be_v so_o strong_o bewitch_v with_o their_o false_a persuasion_n that_o they_o think_v themselves_o to_o be_v in_o a_o happy_a state_n and_o that_o they_o run_v very_o well_o the_o same_o happen_v at_o this_o day_n to_o such_o as_o be_v seduce_v by_o the_o sectary_n and_o fantastical_a spirit_n therefore_o i_o be_o wont_a let_v he_o not_o be_v a_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o be_v not_o content_a to_o be_v thus_o despise_v or_o be_v loath_a to_o bear_v this_o reproach_n or_o if_o he_o be_v let_v he_o give_v church_n so_o think_v and_o believe_v moreover_o that_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o christ_n shall_v suffer_v his_o church_n so_o long_a time_n to_o err_v be_v thou_o alone_o say_v they_o wise_a then_o so_o many_o holy_a man_n wise_a then_o the_o whole_a church_n after_o this_o manner_n the_o devil_n be_v change_v into_o a_o angel_n of_o light_n set_v upon_o we_o crafty_o at_o this_o day_n nor_o more_o acceptable_a service_n unto_o god_n than_o faith_n be_v contrariwise_o the_o justiciary_n and_o such_o as_o seek_v righteousness_n by_o their_o own_o work_v lack_v faith_n in_o deed_n judge_n which_o must_v be_v pacify_v with_o work_v and_o by_o this_o mean_v they_o despise_v god_n they_o make_v he_o as_o a_o liar_n in_o all_o his_o promise_n they_o deny_v christ_n and_o all_o his_o benefit_n to_o conclude_v they_o thrust_v god_n out_o of_o his_o seat_n and_o set_v themselves_o in_o his_o place_n for_o they_o reject_v and_o despise_v the_o word_n of_o god_n do_v choose_v unto_o themselves_o such_o worship_n and_o work_v as_o god_n have_v not_o command_v they_o imagine_v that_o god_n have_v a_o pleasure_n therein_o and_o they_o hope_v to_o receive_v a_o reward_n of_o believe_v in_o christ_n and_o also_o that_o god_n accept_v this_o imperfect_a faith_n for_o perfect_a righteousness_n for_o christ_n sake_n in_o who_o i_o have_v begin_v to_o believe_v because_o of_o this_o faith_n in_o christ_n god_n see_v not_o my_o doubt_v of_o his_o good_a will_n towards_o i_o my_o distrust_n my_o heaviness_n of_o spirit_n and_o other_o sin_n which_o be_v yet_o in_o i_o for_o as_o long_o as_o i_o live_v in_o the_o flesh_n sin_n be_v very_o in_o i_o but_o because_o i_o be_o cover_v under_o the_o shadow_n of_o christ_n wing_n as_o be_v the_o chicken_n under_o the_o wing_n feel_v no_o sin_n at_o all_o in_o they_o and_o thereby_o they_o give_v occasion_n to_o many_o which_o strive_v with_o all_o their_o endeavour_n to_o be_v perfect_o righteous_a &_o yet_o not_o able_a man_n be_v able_a to_o set_v forth_o sufficient_o the_o excellency_n and_o dignity_n of_o this_o christian_a sacrifice_n righteousness_n this_o be_v therefore_o a_o strange_a and_o a_o wonderful_a and_o suffer_v the_o terror_n of_o the_o law_n with_o all_o extremity_n and_o to_o overcome_v the_o same_o that_o so_o he_o may_v utter_o abolish_v the_o law_n he_o be_v not_o make_v a_o teacher_n of_o the_o law_n but_o a_o obedient_a disciple_n to_o the_o law_n that_o by_o this_o his_o obedience_n he_o may_v redeem_v they_o which_o be_v under_o the_o law_n this_o be_v clean_a contrary_n to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o papist_n who_o have_v make_v christ_n a_o lawgiver_n yea_o much_o more_o severe_a and_o rigorous_a them_z moses_n paul_n teach_v here_o clean_o contrary_a to_o wit_n that_o therefore_o he_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o natural_o god_n if_o thou_o lie_v hold_v upon_o christ_n in_o such_o sort_n as_o paul_n here_o paint_v he_o out_o christ_n thou_o can_v not_o err_v pretence_n the_o simple_a be_v deceive_v when_o these_o seducer_n do_v make_v they_o to_o believe_v that_o they_o bear_v a_o great_a zeal_n and_o affection_n towards_o they_o and_o that_o they_o commandment_n the_o religion_n and_o service_n of_o god_n and_o our_o priesthood_n and_o publish_v through_o out_o the_o world_n the_o gospel_n as_o he_o call_v it_o whereof_o be_v spring_v infinite_a evil_n sedition_n offence_n and_o sect_n he_o be_v compel_v to_o hear_v of_o the_o gentile_n also_o which_o cry_v out_o against_o he_o in_o philippi_n 16.20.21_o that_o he_o be_v a_o troubler_n of_o that_o his_o doctrine_n be_v not_o the_o cause_n of_o these_o offence_n and_o sect_n paul_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v not_o discourage_v he_o forsake_v not_o his_o vocation_n but_o go_v forward_o know_v that_o the_o gospel_n which_o he_o preach_v be_v the_o power_n of_o god_n to_o salvation_n to_o all_o that_o believe_v 1.16_o howsoever_o it_o seem_v to_o the_o jew_n &_o gentile_n to_o be_v of_o the_o use_n of_o the_o work_n that_o be_v to_o say_v of_o the_o confidence_n and_o righteousness_n that_o be_v annex_v to_o the_o work_n for_o we_o must_v understand_v paul_n according_a to_o the_o matter_n whereof_o he_o intreat_v or_o according_a to_o the_o argument_n which_o he_o have_v in_o hand_n which_o be_v that_o man_n be_v not_o justify_v by_o the_o law_n by_o work_n by_o circumcision_n or_o such_o like_a he_o say_v not_o that_o work_n of_o themselves_o be_v nothing_o but_o the_o confidence_n &_o righteousness_n of_o work_n be_v nothing_o for_o that_o make_v christ_n unprofitable_a therefore_o who_o so_o receive_v circumcision_n with_o this_o opinion_n that_o it_o be_v necessary_a to_o justification_n to_o he_o christ_n avail_v nothing_o let_v we_o bear_v this_o well_o in_o mind_n in_o our_o private_a tentation_n when_o the_o devil_n accuse_v and_o terrify_v our_o conscience_n to_o drive_v it_o to_o desperation_n for_o he_o be_v the_o father_n of_o lie_v and_o the_o enemy_n of_o christian_a liberty_n therefore_o he_o torment_v we_o every_o moment_n with_o false_a fear_n that_o when_o our_o conscience_n have_v lose_v this_o christian_a liberty_n it_o shall_v feel_v the_o remorse_n of_o sin_n and_o condenmation_n and_o always_o remain_v in_o auguish_n and_o terror_n when_o that_o great_a dragon_n i_o say_v that_o old_a serpent_n the_o devil_n who_o deceive_v the_o whole_a world_n and_o accuse_v our_o brother_n in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n day_n and_o night_n apoc._n 12._o come_v and_o lay_v unto_o thy_o charge_n that_o thou_o have_v not_o
