they_o shall_v go_v so_o far_o it_o be_v satan_n that_o deceive_v they_o notwithstanding_o they_o be_v sorry_a for_o their_o sin_n and_o do_v lament_v they_o yea_o it_o grieve_v they_o to_o the_o hart_n that_o they_o must_v bear_v the_o miserable_a burden_n of_o this_o flesh_n and_o they_o cry_v out_o together_o with_o s._n paul_n rom._n 7._o o_o wretched_a man_n that_o i_o be_o who_o shall_v but_o the_o godly_a at_o the_o last_o overcome_v they_o psal_n 118.18_o and_o that_o i_o may_v speak_v more_o plain_o reckon_v i_o pray_v thou_o any_o of_o the_o saint_n who_o death_n do_v not_o trouble_v yea_o i_o know_v thou_o shall_v not_o find_v one_o which_o be_v not_o afraid_a and_o tremble_v not_o at_o the_o horrible_a sight_n of_o death_n but_o the_o conscience_n take_v comfort_n here_o by_o the_o prophet_n david_n who_o say_v the_o lord_n have_v chastened_a and_o correct_v i_o but_o he_o have_v not_o give_v i_o over_o unto_o death_n it_o fight_v against_o we_o in_o deed_n but_o it_o prevail_v not_o thus_o a_o christian_a wrap_v in_o sin_n be_v both_o under_o sin_n and_o above_o sin_n &_o at_o the_o last_o notwithstanding_o obtain_v the_o victory_n after_o the_o same_o sort_n also_o must_v he_o have_v to_o do_v with_o satan_n with_o who_o he_o must_v wrestle_v all_o his_o life_n and_o at_o the_o last_o overcome_v he_o so_o in_o the_o world_n also_o he_o must_v suffer_v many_o conflict_n and_o trouble_n and_o yet_o at_o length_n become_v victor_n for_o although_o it_o be_v a_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n which_o have_v neither_o rest_n nor_o quietness_n but_o suffer_v the_o force_n of_o hell_n death_n the_o devil_n sin_n and_o all_o manner_n of_o adversity_n and_o tribulation_n yet_o they_o which_o be_v in_o it_o do_v with_o a_o invincible_a courage_n endure_v and_o at_o length_n overcome_v all_o evil_n but_o god_n therefore_o permit_v these_o thing_n that_o our_o faith_n may_v be_v exercise_v and_o show_v forth_o itself_o moreover_o that_o be_v a_o pleasure_n to_o the_o conscience_n and_o bring_v unto_o it_o comfort_n and_o joy_n that_o it_o have_v such_o a_o kingdom_n that_o it_o may_v say_v bless_a be_v the_o lord_n god_n who_o have_v visit_v and_o redeem_v we_o and_o have_v raise_v up_o a_o kingdom_n in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n that_o be_v for_o that_o he_o visit_v we_o by_o his_o word_n deliver_v we_o from_o sin_n and_o make_v we_o conqueror_n over_o death_n and_o satan_n thus_o he_o have_v hear_v both_o that_o a_o kingdom_n be_v raise_v up_o in_o the_o house_n of_o david_n and_o also_o that_o a_o christian_n be_v both_o dead_a and_o yet_o alive_a be_v innocent_a in_o the_o mid_n of_o sin_n and_o although_o he_o be_v subject_a to_o satan_n yet_o notwithstanding_o have_v dominion_n over_o satan_n for_o both_o be_v true_a for_o that_o sin_n death_n hell_n do_v assail_v the_o flesh_n but_o do_v not_o overcome_v forasmuch_o as_o this_o kingdom_n of_o salvation_n triumph_v over_o they_o all_o wherefore_o as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o certain_a great_a boldness_n or_o confidence_n he_o call_v it_o a_o horn_n that_o be_v a_o strong_a and_o puissant_a kingdom_n which_o have_v no_o rest_n or_o truce_n but_o be_v assail_v of_o many_o and_o strong_a enemy_n be_v always_o diligent_o occupy_v in_o defence_n of_o itself_o and_o do_v notable_o repel_v the_o force_n of_o the_o enemy_n so_o a_o christian_a lay_v hold_n on_o this_o horn_n overthrow_v sin_n death_n and_o satan_n neither_o consist_v this_o horn_n in_o our_o strength_n neither_o be_v we_o maker_n thereof_o for_o god_n have_v make_v and_o raise_v it_o up_o by_o the_o ministry_n of_o his_o word_n whereby_o we_o be_v save_v wherefore_o zacharias_n so_o sing_v that_o his_o song_n have_v respect_n not_o to_o his_o own_o son_n but_o to_o christ_n deliver_v we_o out_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o all_o they_o that_o hate_v we_o as_o the_o prophet_n david_n say_v psal_n 110._o the_o lord_n shall_v send_v the_o rod_n of_o thy_o power_n out_o of_o zion_n be_v thou_o ruler_n in_o the_o mid_n of_o thy_o enemy_n and_o psal_n 45._o thy_o arrow_n be_v very_o sharp_a even_o in_o the_o mid_n of_o the_o king_n enemy_n it_o be_v a_o delight_n unto_o christ_n

the_o world_n and_o labour_n to_o have_v no_o enemy_n therein_o for_o the_o word_n of_o zacharias_n declare_v that_o it_o be_v the_o quality_n of_o this_o kingdom_n to_o deliver_v from_o enemy_n now_o have_v a_o little_a shine_v forth_o thanks_n be_v to_o christ_n therefore_o no_o man_n be_v any_o where_o so_o hate_v as_o a_o christian_a both_o the_o pope_n and_o the_o furious_a bishop_n with_o their_o false_a apostle_n also_o the_o rage_a prince_n moreover_o the_o holy_a learned_a and_o wise_a of_o the_o world_n all_o at_o this_o day_n do_v most_o bitter_o hate_v christian_n neither_o be_v they_o content_a that_o they_o be_v kill_v &_o slay_v but_o they_o will_v have_v they_o extinguish_v and_o utter_o root_v out_o that_o there_o may_v be_v no_o memory_n of_o they_o as_o they_o think_v leave_v among_o man_n and_o this_o be_v the_o state_n these_o be_v the_o badge_n and_o cognisance_n of_o christian_n that_o when_o satan_n by_o his_o minister_n persecute_v we_o he_o think_v quite_o to_o root_v we_o out_o this_o verse_n also_o give_v we_o to_o understand_v that_o christ_n be_v our_o king_n that_o he_o may_v save_v and_o deliver_v we_o out_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o our_o enemy_n which_o he_o notable_o perform_v and_o show_v his_o power_n in_o the_o mid_n of_o the_o world_n in_o the_o mid_n of_o the_o force_n of_o flesh_n and_o satan_n when_o as_o peace_n and_o quietness_n be_v not_o where_o leave_v to_o a_o christian_a but_o in_o his_o christ_n alone_o this_o also_o we_o must_v mark_v that_o there_o be_v not_o one_o but_o many_o which_o assail_v &_o persecute_v christian_n but_o yet_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o therefore_o be_v destroy_v forasmuch_o as_o we_o have_v one_o which_o be_v strong_a both_o than_o the_o world_n and_o the_o prince_n thereof_o as_o john_n say_v now_o whereas_o he_o promise_v we_o we_o know_v certain_o that_o he_o both_o will_v and_o be_v able_a to_o perform_v we_o shall_v in_o deed_n feel_v the_o assault_n but_o he_o will_v the_o mouth_n of_o the_o prophet_n etc._n etc._n even_o as_o zacharias_n do_v in_o this_o place_n objection_n a_o objection_n some_o man_n may_v now_o say_v they_o be_v dead_a how_o therefore_o will_v all_o thing_n go_v backward_o notwithstanding_o howsoever_o it_o be_v delay_v and_o seem_v yet_o it_o be_v fulfil_v and_o perform_v whatsoever_o be_v promise_v to_o abraham_n and_o god_n have_v not_o only_o deliver_v he_o from_o his_o enemy_n but_o have_v bestow_v upon_o he_o all_o good_a thing_n yea_o have_v give_v himself_o unto_o he_o and_o all_o that_o he_o have_v and_o all_o this_o be_v certain_a thousand_o of_o year_n before_o i_o be_v bear_v that_o thou_o will_v do_v it_o who_o do_v then_o desire_v he_o that_o he_o will_v give_v we_o those_o thing_n when_o he_o have_v determine_v with_o himself_o to_o give_v they_o and_o upon_o this_o promise_n the_o prophet_n be_v bold_a and_o do_v stay_v themselves_o for_o by_o it_o we_o attain_v unto_o true_a goodness_n that_o the_o mouth_n of_o every_o one_o may_v be_v stop_v that_o he_o that_o will_v glory_n may_v glory_v in_o the_o lord._n for_o thus_o the_o lord_n may_v say_v that_o thou_o live_v in_o my_o kingdom_n that_o thou_o enjoy_v my_o goodness_n &_o grace_n it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v impute_v to_o thou_o but_o unto_o i_o i_o promise_v and_o determine_v with_o myself_o to_o fulfil_v my_o promise_n thou_o be_v ignorant_a thereof_o and_o here_o the_o mouth_n of_o every_o one_o be_v stop_v so_o at_o this_o day_n also_o none_o of_o we_o unto_o who_o thanks_n be_v to_o god_n the_o gospel_n have_v shine_v can_v glory_v that_o we_o obtain_v it_o by_o our_o own_o mean_n labour_n endeavour_n or_o good_a conversation_n for_o those_o which_o be_v count_v the_o best_a work_n and_o the_o most_o excellent_a study_n be_v disallow_v and_o overthrow_v as_o to_o celebrate_v mass_n to_o join_v himself_o to_o this_o or_o that_o hypocritical_a sect_n which_o they_o call_v a_o order_n etc._n etc._n these_o the_o gospel_n condemn_v and_o reject_v and_o how_o can_v i_o attain_v to_o the_o gospel_n by_o that_o which_o it_o reject_v wherefore_o this_o stand_v sure_a and_o certain_a that_o all_o that_o we_o have_v be_v of_o the_o mere_a grace_n and_o goodness_n of_o god_n so_o that_o with_o his_o honour_n and_o praise_n we_o may_v confess_v that_o we_o have_v deserve_v far_o otherwise_o namely_o hell_n fire_n if_o beside_o this_o he_o bestow_v any_o thing_n upon_o we_o it_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o goodness_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o zacharias_n say_v that_o be_v be_v foretell_v by_o punishment_n which_o it_o threaten_v they_o be_v drive_v from_o sin_n at_o the_o least_o from_o the_o outward_a work_n lest_o that_o the_o liberty_n of_o sin_v increase_n overmuche_o and_o remove_v they_o from_o all_o religion_n of_o god_n that_o hope_v of_o salvation_n be_v paste_n and_o god_n quite_o contemn_v they_o shall_v run_v headlong_o without_o all_o fear_n into_o all_o kind_n of_o evil_a as_o some_o desperate_a person_n be_v wont_a to_o do_v again_o the_o law_n be_v profitable_a to_o they_o in_o this_o that_o by_o it_o they_o be_v bring_v unto_o knowledge_n of_o themselves_o and_o learn_v how_o unwilling_o they_o live_v under_o the_o law_n and_o that_o they_o do_v no_o good_a at_o all_o with_o a_o willing_a and_o ready_a mind_n as_o it_o become_v son_n but_o with_o a_o servile_a and_o unwilling_a mind_n whereby_o they_o may_v easy_o see_v what_o be_v the_o root_n of_o this_o evil_a and_o what_o be_v especial_o needful_a unto_o salvation_n to_o wit_v a_o new_a and_o a_o willing_a spirit_n to_o that_o which_o be_v good_a which_o sure_o neither_o the_o law_n nor_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n be_v able_a to_o give_v yea_o the_o long_a and_o the_o more_o that_o be_v they_o be_v like_a unto_o those_o of_o cain_n brood_n and_o to_o hypocrite_n who_o hand_n in_o deed_n be_v compel_v to_o good_a but_o they_o have_v a_o hart_n which_o as_o it_o be_v a_o enemy_n to_o the_o law_n so_o do_v it_o very_o consent_v unto_o sin_n and_o be_v miserable_o subject_a unto_o they_o to_o know_v this_o concern_v themselves_o be_v not_o the_o low_a degree_n to_o salvation_n hereof_o also_o we_o may_v see_v how_o fit_o paul_n call_v such_o constrain_a work_n the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n law_n the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n for_o they_o flow_v not_o from_o a_o ready_a and_o willing_a hart_n but_o be_v enforce_v by_o the_o law_n the_o heart_n decline_v a_o other_o way_n howbeit_o the_o law_n do_v not_o require_v work_n alone_o but_o much_o rather_o the_o heart_n itself_o so_o that_o we_o may_v say_v not_o only_o the_o work_n but_o rather_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o law_n not_o only_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o law_n but_o rather_o the_o mind_n will_n and_o all_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o law_n whereupon_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o first_o psalm_n of_o the_o bless_a man_n but_o his_o delight_n be_v in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o in_o his_o law_n do_v he_o exercise_v himself_o day_n and_o night_n such_o a_o mind_n the_o law_n require_v in_o deed_n but_o it_o give_v it_o not_o neither_o can_v it_o give_v it_o of_o it_o own_o nature_n whereby_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o while_n the_o law_n continue_v to_o exact_v it_o of_o a_o man_n and_o to_o condemn_v he_o as_o long_o as_o he_o have_v not_o such_o a_o mind_n as_o disobedient_a to_o god_n he_o be_v in_o anguish_n on_o every_o side_n his_o conscience_n be_v grievous_o terrify_v and_o without_o all_o counsel_n and_o help_v then_o in_o deed_n he_o be_v most_o ready_o for_o grace_n and_o this_o be_v that_o time_n appoint_v of_o the_o father_n father_n the_o time_n appoint_v of_o the_o father_n when_o his_o servitude_n shall_v end_v and_o he_o shall_v enter_v into_o the_o state_n of_o the_o son_n for_o be_v thus_o in_o distress_n and_o terrify_v see_v that_o by_o no_o other_o mean_n he_o can_v avoid_v the_o condemnation_n of_o the_o law_n he_o turn_v himself_o whole_o to_o pray_v to_o the_o father_n for_o grace_n he_o acknowledge_v his_o frailty_n he_o confess_v his_o sin_n he_o cease_v to_o trust_v in_o work_n and_o do_v altogether_o as_o it_o be_v meet_v humble_v himself_o perceive_v now_o full_a well_o that_o between_o he_o and_o a_o manifest_a sinner_n there_o be_v no_o difference_n at_o all_o but_o of_o work_n that_o he_o have_v a_o wicked_a heart_n even_o as_o every_o other_o sinner_n have_v yea_o it_o may_v be_v that_o such_o hypocrite_n do_v far_o more_o hate_v the_o law_n in_o their_o heart_n than_o those_o famous_a sinner_n which_o be_v even_o as_o it_o be_v drown_v in_o sin_n for_o while_o these_o be_v even_o weary_v with_o the_o work_n of_o sin_n and_o do_v try_v the_o filthiness_n of_o they_o it_o often_o time_n come_v to_o pass_v that_o they_o do_v in_o some_o part_n loath_a and_o detest_v they_o when_o as_o those_o righteous_a one_o do_v always_o think_v those_o thing_n that_o they_o have_v not_o try_v to_o be_v more_o sweet_a neither_o can_v they_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v so_o much_o gall_n in_o sin_n whereof_o they_o be_v by_o nature_n inflame_v with_o such_o a_o desire_n &_o therefore_o as_o they_o do_v more_o earnest_o love_n sin_n so_o consequent_o they_o do_v much_o worse_o hate_v the_o law_n which_o as_o a_o certain_a schoolmaster_n be_v always_o against_o their_o desire_n moreover_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o condition_n of_o man_n nature_n be_v such_o that_o it_o be_v able_a to_o give_v to_o the_o law_n work_v only_o and_o not_o the_o hart_n who_o do_v not_o see_v how_o great_o it_o be_v contemn_v of_o we_o deal_n hypocritical_a deal_n a_o unequal_a division_n true_o to_o dedicate_v the_o hart_n which_o do_v incomparable_o excel_v all_o other_o thing_n to_o sin_n and_o the_o brutish_a hand_n to_o the_o law_n which_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o offer_v chaff_n to_o the_o law_n and_o the_o wheat_n to_o sin_n the_o shell_n to_o god_n and_o the_o kernel_n to_o satan_n so_o that_o come_v to_o pass_v which_o be_v in_o the_o gospel_n that_o the_o wickedness_n of_o he_o which_o be_v in_o thy_o judgement_n a_o desperate_a sinner_n be_v count_v as_o a_o mote_n and_o thou_o which_o so_o play_v the_o hypocrite_n be_v count_v as_o a_o beam_n if_o this_o evil_n be_v add_v hereunto_o that_o such_o hypocrite_n do_v not_o see_v a_o beam_n in_o their_o eye_n but_o be_v blind_v do_v persevere_v in_o their_o accustom_a work_n not_o mark_v this_o their_o inward_a abomination_n of_o the_o hart_n they_o by_o and_o by_o burst_v forth_o to_o judge_v &_o condemn_v other_o they_o despise_v sinner_n as_o he_o do_v in_o the_o gospel_n they_o think_v themselves_o not_o like_a unto_o they_o they_o be_v not_o as_o other_o man_n be_v they_o think_v themselves_o alone_o godly_a and_o righteous_a who_o error_n which_o labour_n to_o seduce_v and_o pluck_v even_o they_o from_o good_a work_n here_o thou_o may_v see_v that_o that_o show_v itself_o whatsoever_o the_o scripture_n attribute_v to_o these_o man_n be_v sure_o most_o pestilent_a spirit_n to_o wit_n that_o they_o be_v a_o generation_n of_o viper_n and_o serpent_n they_o be_v no_o other_o but_o of_o cain_n brood_n and_o so_o they_o do_v in_o danger_n by_o too_o much_o hunger_n and_o watch_v or_o the_o true_a purity_n of_o life_n by_o overmuch_o abstinence_n from_o matrimonial_a company_n but_o we_o must_v use_v these_o thing_n with_o knowledge_n that_o be_v with_o convenient_a wisdom_n and_o discretion_n that_o they_o may_v not_o any_o whit_n hurt_v but_o always_o edify_v whereupon_o paul_n 1_o cor._n 7._o express_o admonish_v life_n a_o true_a spiritual_a life_n but_o live_v you_o in_o the_o true_a &_o holy_a spirit_n which_o be_v give_v of_o god_n which_o give_v and_o maintain_v unity_n one_o mind_n heart_n and_o affection_n whereof_o he_o speak_v also_o eph._n 4_o endeavour_v to_o keep_v the_o unity_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o bond_n of_o peace_n they_z therefore_o which_o persevere_v in_o the_o same_o against_o slothful_a and_o sluggish_a christian_n who_o albeit_o they_o have_v the_o same_o meaning_n and_o mind_n in_o the_o true_a spiritual_a life_n as_o concern_v opinion_n of_o doctrine_n yet_o be_v they_o remiss_a cold_a and_o faint_a in_o love_n so_o he_o set_v the_o word_n of_o truth_n against_o they_o which_o abuse_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o interpret_v it_o according_a to_o their_o own_o affection_n that_o thereby_o they_o may_v get_v they_o a_o name_n and_o profit_n for_o as_o false_a spirit_n do_v contemn_v the_o word_n of_o the_o scripture_n and_o prefer_v themselves_o
