about_o term_n of_o reconciliation_n and_o shall_v that_o which_o make_v god_n to_o be_v glorious_a be_v account_v a_o dishonour_n to_o thou_o shall_v it_o make_v thou_o unglorious_a when_o it_o make_v god_n to_o be_v glorious_a if_o it_o be_v a_o excellency_n in_o god_n sure_o it_o be_v no_o baseness_n no_o dishonour_n in_o thou_o what_o a_o proud_a heart_n have_v thou_o that_o thou_o shall_v think_v that_o that_o do_v debase_v thou_o too_o much_o which_o make_v god_n to_o be_v a_o glorious_a god_n that_o that_o which_o do_v set_v so_o much_o glory_n upon_o god_n shall_v in_o thy_o fear_v he_o he_o will_v not_o cast_v we_o off_o certain_o no_o it_o be_v better_a with_o we_o now_o than_o before_o when_o we_o be_v enemy_n unto_o he_o and_o desperate_a enemy_n it_o have_v be_v then_o no_o wonder_n if_o god_n have_v cast_v we_o off_o and_o send_v we_o to_o our_o own_o place_n to_o lie_v for_o ever_o under_o the_o infinite_a burden_n of_o his_o wrath_n but_o the_o lord_n have_v then_o thought_n of_o peace_n towards_o we_o it_o be_v therefore_o now_o far_o otherwise_o with_o we_o though_o it_o be_v true_a we_o have_v many_o corruption_n in_o we_o but_o we_o can_v appeal_v unto_o god_n that_o our_o soul_n love_v he_o and_o that_o the_o desire_n of_o our_o heart_n be_v to_o fear_v and_o serve_v he_o we_o can_v in_o some_o measure_n be_v able_a to_o say_v lord_n heart_n from_o such_o and_o such_o distemper_n of_o our_o soul_n whereby_o we_o dishonour_v thy_o name_n continual_o certain_o if_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n be_v in_o this_o disposition_n they_o may_v sometime_o yet_o peace_n be_v to_o thou_o god_n intend_v no_o hurt_n at_o all_o howsoever_o he_o may_v look_v sometime_o as_o a_o enemy_n yet_o at_o that_o time_n he_o mean_v thou_o not_o the_o least_o hurt_n all_o the_o affliction_n that_o befall_v thou_o they_o do_v not_o come_v from_o god_n as_o from_o a_o enemy_n though_o perhaps_o through_o thy_o weakness_n thou_o maâ—'st_v think_v so_o for_o though_o god_n be_v reconcile_v to_o thou_o in_o so_o gracious_a a_o way_n yet_o if_o he_o correct_v thou_o thou_o be_v apt_a to_o look_v upon_o he_o as_o a_o enemy_n no_o it_o be_v thy_o mistake_n god_n reconciliation_n be_v a_o through_o reconciliation_n and_o may_v stand_v with_o all_o those_o correction_n that_o he_o use_v towards_o thou_o 7_o yea_o this_o reconciliation_n will_v reconcile_v to_o thou_o he_o do_v know_v that_o there_o will_v be_v many_o fail_n and_o fall_n out_o as_o it_o be_v but_o yet_o he_o be_v resolve_v to_o be_v reconcile_v and_o that_o that_o so_o as_o to_o turn_v enemy_n to_o thou_o again_o there_o may_v be_v peace_n make_v between_o friend_n and_o friend_n but_o it_o may_v be_v there_o may_v be_v some_o whisperer_n some_o tale-bearer_n and_o make-bates_a by_o a_o spirit_n of_o jealousy_n that_o may_v go_v between_o they_o and_o do_v abundance_n of_o mischief_n by_o their_o suggestion_n but_o this_o can_v be_v between_o god_n and_o we_o it_o be_v true_a the_o devil_n will_v be_v continual_o a_o makebate_n between_o god_n and_o thy_o soul_n and_o do_v continual_o go_v before_o god_n to_o accuse_v the_o soul_n and_o therefore_o he_o be_v call_v the_o accuser_n of_o the_o brethren_n but_o the_o peace_n that_o be_v make_v up_o between_o god_n and_o a_o soul_n through_o his_o son_n be_v so_o firm_a and_o the_o friendship_n be_v so_o stable_a as_o that_o the_o lord_n shut_v his_o ear_n aganist_n all_o the_o accusation_n that_o can_v be_v make_v against_o his_o friend_n one_o entire_a friend_n can_v endure_v to_o hear_v ill_o of_o another_o it_o be_v a_o sign_n that_o friendship_n begin_v to_o grow_v cold_a when_o they_o be_v willing_a to_o hear_v of_o any_o evil_n against_o their_o friend_n the_o lord_n will_v not_o listen_v to_o the_o least_o accusation_n that_o be_v make_v by_o satan_n against_o his_o friend_n he_o will_v not_o so_o much_o as_o be_v willing_a to_o hear_v of_o any_o thing_n speak_v against_o his_o people_n such_o a_o perfect_a and_o through_o and_o firm_a peace_n be_v there_o make_v between_o the_o soul_n and_o god_n chap._n 5._o twelve_o bless_a consequenc_n of_o our_o reconciliation_n but_o now_o that_o which_o i_o special_o intend_v shall_v have_v be_v to_o have_v show_v you_o some_o consequence_n of_o this_o peace_n and_o therein_o i_o shall_v have_v show_v you_o the_o have_v we_o at_o infinite_a advantage_n to_o do_v with_o we_o whatsoever_o he_o please_v and_o can_v fetch_v out_o his_o glory_n from_o our_o ruin_n and_o eternal_a misery_n yet_o he_o begin_v the_o reconciliation_n that_o be_v a_o five_o consequence_n from_o hence_o consequence_n 6._o six_o follow_v this_o if_o we_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n in_o christ_n hence_o our_o reconciliation_n be_v in_o such_o a_o way_n as_o do_v altogether_o debase_v man_n and_o though_o it_o be_v upon_o honourable_a term_n yet_o it_o be_v in_o a_o way_n wherein_o man_n have_v no_o cause_n to_o glory_n in_o god_n and_o yet_o be_v abase_v so_o much_o as_o he_o be_v in_o this_o way_n of_o reconciliation_n when_o he_o true_o consider_v it_o for_o it_o be_v true_a we_o be_v reconcile_v but_o how_o we_o begin_v it_o not_o ourselves_o we_o do_v nothing_o in_o it_o ourselves_o all_o be_v do_v by_o christ_n therefore_o in_o rom._n 3.27_o say_v the_o apostle_n where_o be_v bou_v it_o be_v exclude_v by_o what_o law_n of_o work_n no_o but_o by_o the_o law_n of_o faith_n god_n indeed_o have_v do_v great_a thing_n for_o we_o but_o all_o that_o which_o be_v do_v for_o we_o be_v not_o thankworthy_a to_o it_o be_v to_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n consequence_n 8._o there_o be_v one_o consequence_n or_o poperty_n mor_fw-mi of_o this_o reconciliation_n that_o i_o must_v add_v to_o what_o i_o mention_v before_o and_o that_o be_v this_o that_o if_o it_o be_v in_o christ_n that_o we_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n then_o certain_o the_o work_n of_o reconciliation_n be_v a_o very_a difficult_a work_n it_o be_v a_o mighty_a hard_a thing_n heaven_n and_o earth_n must_v be_v move_v before_o this_o can_v be_v do_v and_o god_n even_o shake_v the_o heaven_n and_o the_o earth_n in_o this_o work_n it_o be_v the_o difficult_a work_n that_o ever_o god_n himself_o undertake_v and_o the_o difficult_a work_n the_o son_n undertake_v for_o when_o he_o undertake_v it_o you_o find_v that_o he_o do_v sweat_n at_o it_o and_o before_o he_o have_v do_v it_o it_o cost_v he_o his_o very_a heart_n blood_n therefore_o it_o be_v not_o a_o ordinary_a and_o slight_a work_n to_o reconcile_v god_n &_o man_n together_o but_o a_o most_o difficult_a work_n because_o it_o be_v in_o christ_n chap._n 19_o three_o reason_n why_o god_n will_v be_v reconcile_v to_o the_o world_n in_o christ_n and_o no_o otherway_v 1._o because_o god_n the_o son_n be_v most_o glorify_a this_o way_n 2._o because_o god_n the_o father_n be_v most_o glorify_a this_o way_n 3._o because_o there_o be_v no_o such_o way_n as_o this_o to_o melt_v the_o heart_n of_o sinner_n or_o to_o encourage_v they_o to_o come_v to_o god_n but_o there_o yet_o remain_v to_o show_v you_o the_o reason_n why_o god_n will_v reconcile_v himself_o to_o the_o world_n this_o way_n in_o christ_n and_o no_o other_o way_n and_o for_o that_o i_o shall_v only_o give_v you_o these_o three_o reason_n reason_n 1._o first_o because_o in_o this_o way_n the_o father_n glorify_v his_o son_n have_v it_o not_o be_v for_o this_o way_n of_o atonement_n we_o have_v but_o little_o understand_v the_o glory_n of_o the_o second_o person_n in_o trinity_n no_o nor_o indeed_o of_o the_o three_o person_n nor_o the_o distinction_n of_o the_o person_n and_o therefore_o before_o the_o gospel_n come_v to_o be_v make_v know_v to_o the_o son_n of_o man_n the_o distinction_n of_o the_o person_n in_o trinity_n be_v very_o little_o make_v know_v and_o in_o those_o place_n wherein_o the_o gospel_n be_v not_o reveal_v and_o make_v know_v there_o be_v nothing_o full_o know_v of_o the_o distinction_n of_o the_o person_n in_o the_o trinity_n now_o for_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o trinity_n and_o more_o especial_o for_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o second_o person_n the_o son_n of_o god_n who_o be_v the_o special_a person_n in_o the_o work_n of_o reconciation_n have_v god_n choose_v this_o way_n of_o reonciliation_n it_o be_v true_a indeed_o the_o three_o person_n and_o the_o spirit_n be_v send_v by_o christ_n and_o in_o the_o consummation_n of_o the_o work_n of_o reconciliation_n the_o glory_n of_o that_o person_n appear_v but_o the_o main_a weight_n of_o the_o work_n lie_v upon_o the_o son_n and_o for_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n have_v he_o appoint_v this_o way_n to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o the_o world_n and_o indeed_o it_o be_v such_o a_o work_n as_o the_o son_n himself_o do_v exceed_o glory_v in_o and_o account_v this_o to_o be_v a_o great_a part_n of_o his_o glory_n that_o he_o be_v appoint_v by_o god_n the_o father_n to_o be_v the_o mediator_n to_o reconcile_v god_n and_o man_n together_o i_o beseech_v you_o observe_v this_o this_o work_n of_o reconciliation_n between_o god_n and_o we_o it_o be_v that_o which_o christ_n himself_o do_v glory_n in_o and_o it_o be_v that_o which_o he_o count_v next_o unto_o the_o glory_n that_o he_o have_v personal_o with_o the_o father_n as_o he_o be_v generate_v of_o he_o from_o all_o eternity_n next_o unto_o that_o jesus_n christ_n glory_v in_o this_o that_o he_o be_v appoint_v to_o be_v a_o mediator_n between_o the_o father_n &_o sinful_a man_n and_o that_o christ_n himself_o do_v glory_n in_o this_o work_n i_o will_v give_v you_o a_o scripture_n or_o two_o to_o prove_v it_o that_o place_n which_o we_o have_v in_o the_o 13._o john_n 31._o be_v remarkable_a for_o be_v say_v to_o be_v hater_n of_o god_n but_o in_o that_o commandment_n he_o will_v visit_v the_o inniquity_n of_o the_o father_n upon_o the_o child_n unto_o three_o and_o four_o genneration_n of_o they_o that_o hate_v he_o that_o be_v upon_o those_o that_o howsoever_o they_o pretend_v love_n unto_o he_o in_o their_o false_a worship_n yet_o they_o hate_v he_o so_o that_o certain_o there_o be_v a_o hatred_n yea_o deadly_a hatred_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n by_o nature_n against_o god_n but_o you_o will_v say_v how_o do_v that_o appear_v or_o wherein_o do_v the_o deadly_a hatred_n of_o god_n consist_v in_o this_o when_o one_o man_n hate_v another_o so_o as_o he_o will_v wish_v he_o dead_a he_o will_v wish_v he_o out_o of_o the_o way_n he_o will_v wish_v he_o that_o he_o be_v not_o such_o a_o kind_n of_o hatred_n be_v therein_o every_o man_n heart_n natural_o which_o i_o make_v plain_a thus_o the_o very_a nature_n of_o god_n be_v holiness_n itself_o and_o if_o god_n shall_v be_v less_o holy_a than_o he_o be_v he_o shall_v loose_v his_o very_a be_v or_o if_o god_n shall_v be_v less_o just_a than_o he_o be_v he_o will_v loose_v his_o life_n and_o cease_v to_o be_v now_o i_o put_v this_o question_n to_o you_o to_o you_o that_o be_v wicked_a man_n that_o be_v unconvert_v have_v you_o not_o sometime_o a_o secret_a wish_n in_o your_o heart_n that_o god_n be_v not_o so_o holy_a as_o he_o be_v can_v you_o not_o wish_v in_o your_o heart_n that_o god_n be_v not_o so_o just_a as_o he_o be_v that_o he_o do_v not_o hate_v sin_n as_o he_o do_v and_o why_o will_v you_o not_o have_v god_n so_o holy_a and_o so_o just_a as_o he_o be_v even_o because_o you_o may_v have_v the_o more_o liberty_n in_o your_o way_n of_o sin_n that_o you_o may_v have_v more_o freedom_n in_o fulfil_v the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n be_v not_o this_o in_o your_o heart_n oftentimes_o see_v then_o what_o it_o come_v to_o it_o be_v as_o much_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v my_o heart_n be_v so_o set_v upon_o such_o and_o such_o a_o last_o that_o i_o have_v rather_o god_n shall_v cease_v to_o be_v god_n than_o i_o shall_v not_o have_v liberty_n to_o enjoy_v that_o lust_n this_o be_v the_o very_a plain_a english_a of_o it_o though_o you_o do_v not_o come_v to_o that_o height_n to_o say_v so_o in_o so_o many_o word_n for_o i_o suppose_v none_o of_o you_o to_o be_v so_o abominable_o wicked_a or_o that_o ever_o come_v to_o that_o height_n of_o impiety_n as_o to_o say_v plain_o with_o your_o mouth_n i_o love_v such_o a_o lust_n so_o dear_o that_o i_o will_v rather_o god_n shall_v not_o be_v god_n than_o i_o lose_v my_o lust_n but_o you_o be_v to_o know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o language_n in_o your_o action_n as_o well_o as_o in_o your_o word_n &_o god_n can_v understand_v the_o language_n of_o your_o action_n as_o well_o as_o the_o expression_n of_o your_o mouth_n now_o it_o be_v apparent_a that_o when_o a_o man_n love_v his_o lust_n so_o well_o as_o that_o to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v have_v the_o more_o liberty_n for_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o it_o he_o can_v secret_o wish_v that_o god_n be_v not_o so_o infinite_o holy_a and_o just_a as_o he_o be_v certain_o there_o be_v this_o in_o it_o that_o he_o do_v in_o effect_n desire_n and_o wish_v that_o god_n may_v rather_o cease_v to_o be_v then_o that_o he_o may_v not_o have_v his_o lust_n and_o be_v not_o this_o a_o deadly_a hatred_n thou_o do_v so_o far_o love_v thy_o lust_n as_o that_o thou_o have_v a_o deadly_a hatred_n against_o god_n who_o holiness_n and_o justice_n thou_o know_v to_o be_v so_o infinite_a as_o that_o they_o be_v both_o set_v against_o it_o and_o therefore_o for_o the_o better_a enjoyment_n of_o thy_o lust_n thou_o can_v wish_v that_o god_n be_v neither_o so_o holy_a nor_o so_o just_a as_o he_o be_v which_o be_v in_o effect_n to_o wish_v that_o he_o be_v not_o god_n for_o if_o he_o shall_v cease_v to_o be_v holy_a or_o less_o holy_a &_o less_o just_a than_o he_o be_v he_o shall_v cease_v to_o be_v god_n and_o true_o if_o we_o right_o understand_v our_o own_o nature_n in_o this_o particular_a there_o be_v nothing_o will_v break_v the_o heart_n of_o a_o man_n more_o than_o it_o what_o can_v break_v the_o heart_n of_o a_o man_n more_o than_o to_o sit_v down_o and_o consider_v i_o be_o a_o enemy_n unto_o god_n and_o i_o have_v be_v in_o enmity_n against_o god_n all_o my_o day_n and_o therefore_o what_o can_v i_o expect_v but_o that_o god_n shall_v be_v a_o enemy_n unto_o i_o everlasting_o this_o be_v that_o which_o will_v strike_v down_o the_o proud_a heart_n in_o the_o world_n and_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o till_o you_o come_v to_o see_v sin_n thus_o you_o do_v not_o see_v it_o to_o any_o purpose_n but_o though_o this_o argument_n may_v take_v up_o my_o you_o to_o hear_v of_o a_o possibility_n for_o god_n to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o you_o you_o see_v there_o be_v a_o enmity_n in_o your_o heart_n to_o god_n and_o not_o only_o a_o enmity_n but_o a_o most_o deadly_a and_o desperate_a one_o i_o can_v show_v you_o abundance_n of_o particular_n of_o this_o enmity_n but_o the_o main_a thing_n that_o i_o aim_v at_o be_v only_o to_o open_v the_o doctrine_n of_o reconciliation_n therefore_o if_o thou_o apprehend_v this_o truth_n of_o god_n and_o if_o god_n have_v dart_v it_o into_o thy_o conscience_n will_v not_o the_o doctrine_n of_o reconciliation_n be_v acceptable_a to_o thou_o o_o it_o will_v and_o it_o be_v unto_o those_o that_o fear_n god_n and_o right_o apprehend_v themselves_o as_o enemy_n unto_o he_o but_o i_o fear_v lest_o while_o i_o be_o treat_v of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o reconciliation_n between_o god_n you_o you_o shall_v not_o apprehend_v the_o excellency_n of_o it_o and_o not_o relish_v it_o in_o the_o sweetness_n of_o it_o and_o therefore_o if_o i_o have_v say_v any_o thing_n that_o seem_v to_o be_v terrible_a to_o you_o in_o my_o other_o treatise_n if_o i_o have_v show_v to_o you_o what_o a_o evil_a and_o dangerous_a condition_n you_o be_v in_o natural_o and_o how_o liable_a to_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o to_o the_o torment_n of_o hell_n where_o the_o worm_n die_v not_o &_o the_o fire_n go_v not_o out_o it_o be_v all_o to_o this_o end_n that_o you_o may_v the_o better_o relish_v the_o bless_a and_o sweet_a doctrine_n of_o reconciliation_n between_o god_n and_o your_o soul_n this_o be_v that_o than_o which_o we_o shall_v begin_v withal_o as_o the_o first_o sound_n of_o the_o bless_a silver_n trumpet_n of_o the_o gospel_n namely_o doct._n that_o there_o be_v a_o way_n to_o make_v up_o a_o peace_n between_o god_n and_o sinful_a man_n god_n have_v not_o left_a mankind_n who_o have_v sink_v himself_o into_o such_o a_o depth_n of_o misery_n i_o say_v god_n have_v not_o leave_v they_o irrecoverable_a irreconcilable_a the_o lord_n do_v here_o profess_v unto_o you_o that_o he_o be_v willing_a to_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o you_o yea_o we_o shall_v see_v afterward_o that_o he_o do_v entreat_v you_o to_o be_v reconcile_v but_o
this_o may_v serve_v to_o be_v some_o prop_n to_o support_v and_o keep_v up_o any_o trouble_a conscience_n from_o despair_n even_o the_o very_a read_n of_o this_o though_o still_o they_o be_v afraid_a of_o god_n willingness_n to_o make_v up_o the_o peace_n but_o it_o be_v possible_a thou_o may_v have_v it_o no_o angel_n in_o heaven_n nor_o man_n in_o the_o world_n do_v or_o can_v know_v to_o the_o contrary_a but_o that_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o thou_o and_o thou_o for_o such_o a_o sinner_n as_o thou_o be_v or_o such_o as_o thou_o be_v to_o come_v to_o be_v reconcile_v and_o do_v this_o begin_v a_o little_a to_o stir_v thy_o heart_n but_o to_o read_v that_o the_o condition_n of_o man_n be_v not_o desperate_a but_o there_o be_v a_o possibility_n of_o his_o be_v reconcile_v do_v thou_o believe_v because_o of_o this_o then_o as_o christ_n say_v unto_o nathaniel_n thou_o shall_v see_v great_a thing_n than_o these_o so_o if_o thy_o heart_n begin_v to_o be_v affect_v by_o this_o thou_o shall_v before_o we_o have_v do_v with_o this_o subject_n read_v great_a thing_n of_o the_o council_n of_o god_n about_o his_o willingness_n to_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o the_o child_n of_o man_n only_o before_o i_o pass_v let_v i_o speak_v this_o one_o word_n about_o this_o point_n let_v we_o take_v heed_n that_o we_o do_v not_o turn_v this_o grace_n of_o god_n that_o we_o hear_v of_o this_o day_n to_o the_o increase_n of_o our_o more_o fearful_a condemnation_n or_o make_v our_o condemnation_n far_o more_o dreadful_a than_o the_o condemnation_n of_o the_o devil_n be_v because_o we_o have_v more_o mean_n afford_v we_o for_o our_o delivery_n than_o ever_o they_o have_v for_o if_o we_o look_v not_o to_o it_o it_o may_v prove_v so_o that_o our_o condemnation_n may_v be_v more_o dreadful_a than_o the_o condemnation_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o therefore_o you_o have_v need_v when_o you_o hear_v anything_o of_o this_o decoctine_n of_o reconciliation_n or_o of_o a_o possibillity_n of_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n to_o lift_v up_o your_o heart_n unto_o god_n and_o desire_v that_o the_o read_n of_o this_o bless_a doctrine_n may_v not_o prove_v to_o the_o increase_n of_o your_o condemnation_n there_o be_v not_o such_o a_o thing_n preach_v to_o the_o devil_n therefore_o if_o i_o come_v not_o in_o and_o accept_v of_o the_o term_n of_o reconciliation_n i_o shall_v be_v in_o worse_a case_n than_o the_o devil_n it_o can_v never_o be_v charge_v upon_o they_o that_o god_n be_v willing_a to_o be_v reconcile_v and_o they_o will_v not_o but_o it_o may_v be_v thus_o say_v of_o all_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a man_n that_o live_v under_o the_o sound_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o so_o continue_v in_o their_o wickedness_n and_o die_v in_o it_o this_o will_v be_v the_o charge_n that_o will_v lie_v upon_o they_o another_o day_n and_o god_n will_v say_v unto_o they_o you_o do_v indeed_o hear_v that_o you_o be_v natural_o enemy_n to_o i_o yet_o i_o manifestd_v in_o my_o gospel_n that_o i_o will_v enter_v into_o term_n of_o peace_n with_o you_o but_o you_o refuse_v it_o and_o slight_v it_o and_o scorn_v it_o what_o can_v possible_o provoke_v the_o heart_n of_o a_o man_n so_o much_o as_o this_o that_o when_o he_o have_v his_o enemy_n who_o have_v deep_o offend_v he_o at_o a_o advantage_n shall_v yet_o offer_v term_n of_o peace_n to_o he_o and_o yet_o his_o enemy_n go_v away_o scorn_v slight_v and_o contemn_v he_o true_o thus_o do_v wicked_a man_n that_o live_v under_o the_o light_n of_o the_o gospel_n when_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n come_v and_o preach_v peace_n and_o reconciliation_n to_o they_o tell_v they_o that_o god_n be_v willing_a to_o be_v at_o peace_n with_o they_o that_o he_o be_v willing_a to_o treat_v and_o to_o parley_v with_o they_o about_o the_o business_n of_o salvation_n they_o go_v away_o and_o the_o language_n of_o their_o action_n be_v this_o well_o we_o will_v shift_v as_o well_o as_o we_o can_v for_o ourselves_o we_o be_v resolve_v to_o have_v our_o way_n of_o sin_n and_o to_o have_v our_o satisfaction_n in_o this_o and_o the_o other_o lust_n now_o god_n forbid_v that_o this_o shall_v be_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o any_o one_o that_o cast_v his_o eye_n on_o this_o book_n chap._n 4._o reconciliation_n open_v 1_o by_o it_o god_n enmity_n be_v take_v away_o 2_o the_o enmity_n on_o the_o another_o as_o there_o be_v now_o it_o be_v boil_a up_o to_o the_o high_a as_o poison_v may_v be_v boil_a up_o to_o such_o a_o height_n as_o that_o it_o may_v be_v death_n to_o touch_v it_o so_o the_o poison_n and_o rage_n of_o our_o adversary_n be_v boil_a up_o to_o the_o great_a height_n but_o though_o we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o conceive_v that_o there_o can_v be_v a_o reconciliation_n between_o they_o and_o we_o yet_o there_o may_v be_v a_o possibility_n of_o a_o reconciliation_n between_o god_n and_o we_o and_o the_o hear_n of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o reconciliation_n may_v quiet_v and_o support_v our_o heart_n against_o the_o fear_n and_o truoble_a that_o we_o have_v in_o these_o time_n wherein_o we_o have_v nothing_o but_o rumour_n of_o war_n round_o about_o we_o yea_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o these_o misery_n which_o we_o hear_v of_o as_o the_o effect_n of_o these_o unnatural_a broil_n that_o be_v among_o we_o now_o the_o doctrine_n it_o may_v be_v open_v in_o these_o several_a particular_n the_o first_o be_v this_o that_o enmity_n which_o we_o have_v hear_v of_o before_o when_o once_o god_n come_v to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o a_o soul_n be_v all_o do_v away_o all_o that_o enmity_n be_v then_o so_o remove_v as_o that_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o a_o man_n be_v turn_v quite_o contrary_a to_o that_o they_o have_v former_o be_v which_o i_o shall_v afterward_o discover_v in_o the_o effect_n of_o this_o reconciliation_n more_o full_o but_o this_o be_v the_o first_o thing_n the_o do_v away_o of_o all_o that_o wrath_n and_o displeasure_n that_o be_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o god_n against_o the_o sinner_n so_o that_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a that_o you_o can_v but_o look_v into_o the_o heart_n of_o god_n you_o shall_v not_o see_v any_o remainder_n of_o that_o wrath_n and_o displeasure_n that_o be_v in_o he_o because_o of_o sin_n it_o be_v true_a if_o we_o do_v consider_v of_o god_n in_o all_o his_o working_n together_o from_o election_n to_o glorification_n it_o will_v be_v hard_a to_o affirm_v that_o ever_o god_n shall_v be_v in_o a_o way_n of_o enmity_n against_o his_o elect_a one_o because_o he_o do_v always_o love_v this_o light_n and_o the_o light_n fight_v against_o his_o heart_n so_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o but_o woeful_a disturbance_n in_o his_o soul_n and_o he_o be_v never_o at_o peace_n no_o not_o when_o he_o seem_v to_o be_v most_o serene_a and_o quiet_a but_o now_o when_o we_o come_v to_o be_v at_o peace_n wih_o god_n there_o be_v a_o bless_a calm_n come_v into_o the_o spirit_n of_o a_o man_n the_o conscience_n the_o will_n and_o the_o affection_n be_v bring_v into_o a_o sweet_a and_o comly_n order_n and_o thing_n be_v in_o a_o great_a measure_n more_o quiet_a than_o ever_o they_o be_v the_o four_o consequence_n 4._o the_o four_o fruit_n be_v joy_n in_o the_o holy_a ghost_n for_o god_n be_v at_o peace_n with_o a_o soul_n the_o holy_a spirit_n come_v and_o shed_v abroad_o the_o love_n of_o god_n it_o be_v true_a sometime_o we_o be_v not_o sensible_a of_o this_o joy_n but_o when_o once_o we_o come_v to_o know_v that_o we_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n than_o we_o come_v to_o feel_v the_o joy_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n shed_v abroad_o in_o our_o heart_n this_o you_o have_v in_o rom._n 5._o have_v peace_n with_o god_n we_o rejoice_v in_o tribulation_n and_o more_o especial_o in_o rom._n 14.17_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v nor_o meat_n and_o drink_v but_o righteousness_n and_o peace_n and_o joy_n in_o the_o holy_a spirit_n joy_n in_o the_o holy_a spirit_n will_v say_v o_o lord_n if_o this_o be_v require_v as_o a_o way_n to_o be_v find_v of_o he_o in_o peace_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v without_o spot_n and_o blameless_a than_o we_o be_v undo_v for_o who_o can_v be_v find_v of_o god_n without_o spot_n and_o blameless_a yet_o you_o see_v this_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o this_o be_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n and_o truth_n must_v stand_v it_o be_v a_o certain_a truth_n that_o whosoever_o shall_v be_v find_v of_o god_n in_o peace_n when_o that_o glorious_a appearance_n of_o he_o shall_v be_v he_o must_v be_v without_o spot_n &_o blameless_a the_o way_n of_o come_v to_o make_v your_o peace_n with_o god_n and_o o_o that_o the_o read_v this_o book_n may_v be_v a_o mean_n that_o some_o soul_n may_v be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n that_o be_v a_o enemy_n to_o he_o before_o o_o that_o this_o scripture_n may_v be_v fulfil_v in_o the_o bosom_n of_o some_o soul_n and_o thus_o though_o but_o very_o brief_o i_o have_v pass_v over_o the_o open_n of_o this_o point_n of_o reconciliation_n with_o the_o excellency_n and_o the_o bless_a fruit_n of_o it_o chap._n 10._o god_n begin_v the_o work_n of_o reconciliation_n with_o man_n now_o the_o in_o say_v of_o it_o once_o but_o he_o repeat_v it_o again_o by_o he_o i_o say_v whether_o they_o be_v thing_n on_o earth_n or_o thing_n in_o heaven_n there_o be_v two_o difficulty_n in_o this_o scripture_n first_o in_o that_o it_o be_v say_v god_n have_v reconcile_v all_o thing_n to_o himself_o in_o christ_n how_o do_v god_n reconcile_v all_o thing_n to_o himself_o in_o christ_n we_o be_v now_o speak_v of_o reconcile_a those_o that_o shall_v be_v save_v eternal_o but_o here_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o reconcile_n of_o all_o thing_n god_n may_v be_v say_v to_o reconcile_v not_o only_o saint_n but_o all_o thing_n unto_o himself_o in_o this_o regard_n in_o that_o all_o thing_n be_v liable_a to_o destruction_n through_o man_n sin_n and_o it_o be_v in_o christ_n and_o through_o christ_n that_o any_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n be_v preserve_v in_o a_o good_a condition_n when_o you_o behold_v the_o heaven_n and_o the_o earth_n and_o the_o sea_n and_o all_o these_o thing_n and_o see_v the_o preservation_n of_o they_o in_o any_o good_a condition_n you_o must_v know_v it_o be_v all_o through_o christ_n and_o have_v it_o not_o be_v in_o regard_n of_o christ_n all_o thing_n will_v have_v come_v to_o ruin_n and_o confusion_n presen_o and_o so_o god_n reconcile_v all_o thing_n to_o himself_o in_o christ_n further_n all_o thing_n be_v reconcile_v in_o christ_n too_o in_o this_o regard_n in_o that_o now_o all_o thing_n be_v through_o he_o come_v to_o be_v make_v serviceable_a to_o those_o that_o be_v his_o saint_n and_o reconcile_v once_o and_o in_o that_o regard_n all_o thing_n may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n because_o they_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n friend_n whereas_o before_o all_o creature_n be_v enemy_n tâ—_n we_o through_o sin_n and_o now_o through_o christ_n they_o come_v to_o be_v make_v useful_a to_o we_o and_o so_o unto_o god_n by_o we_o a_o second_o difficulty_n in_o this_o text_n be_v how_o god_n have_v by_o christ_n reconcile_v all_o thing_n in_o heaven_n what_o thing_n be_v there_o in_o heaven_n that_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n by_o christ_n we_o must_v understand_v that_o the_o thing_n in_o heaven_n that_o be_v say_v to_o be_v reconcile_v be_v especial_o to_o be_v mean_v of_o the_o angel_n but_o you_o will_v say_v how_o can_v the_o angel_n be_v reconcile_v to_o christ_n there_o be_v never_o a_o fall_n out_o never_o a_o enmity_n between_o god_n and_o they_o i_o answer_v that_o though_o in_o a_o proper_a sense_n as_o reconciliation_n concern_v man_n there_o be_v no_o reconcile_n of_o angel_n unto_o god_n yet_o because_o there_o be_v a_o near_o and_o a_o further_o and_o a_o more_o firm_a union_n make_v between_o god_n and_o the_o angel_n through_o jesus_n christ_n than_o ever_o there_o be_v before_o or_o than_o ever_o there_o shall_v have_v be_v for_o aught_o we_o know_v if_o christ_n have_v not_o be_v in_o that_o regard_n reconciliation_n may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v of_o thing_n in_o heaven_n god_n and_o they_o be_v now_o by_o christ_n more_o firm_o make_v one_o than_o ever_o they_o be_v before_o and_o again_o though_o the_o angel_n have_v never_o sin_v against_o god_n and_o so_o be_v no_o actual_a enemy_n unto_o god_n yet_o they_o be_v in_o a_o capacity_n of_o sin_v for_o they_o be_v but_o creature_n they_o can_v not_o but_o be_v frail_a in_o themselves_o and_o so_o liable_a to_o fall_v from_o god_n and_o to_o sin_n against_o he_o as_o well_o as_o those_o that_o do_v fall_v therefore_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o establishment_n which_o they_o have_v now_o through_o jesus_n christ_n because_o they_o be_v now_o confirm_v in_o such_o a_o condition_n that_o they_o be_v in_o a_o impossibility_n of_o fall_v from_o god_n god_n have_v so_o take_v they_o to_o himself_o and_o they_o be_v so_o one_o with_o god_n that_o they_o can_v never_o fall_v from_o he_o in_o this_o regard_n also_o they_o may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v reconcile_v for_o notwithstanding_o all_o the_o perfection_n of_o their_o creation_n they_o may_v have_v fall_v into_o the_o same_o condition_n that_o those_o do_v that_o be_v now_o reserve_v in_o chain_n to_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o great_a day_n but_o now_o god_n have_v so_o reconcile_v all_o thing_n in_o heaven_n by_o jesus_n christ_n that_o the_o angel_n themselves_o be_v more_o firm_o make_v one_o with_o god_n than_o they_o be_v before_o and_o further_o the_o lord_n do_v receive_v they_o into_o a_o more_o entire_a affection_n of_o love_n in_o and_o by_o jesus_n christ_n than_o he_o do_v before_o the_o lord_n look_v upon_o the_o angel_n in_o and_o through_o christ_n there_o be_v a_o more_o through_o firm_a intimate_a entire_a affection_n of_o god_n towards_o they_o to_o establish_v they_o and_o to_o accept_v of_o they_o in_o jesus_n christ_n and_o beside_o they_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n or_o unto_o we_o rather_o because_o they_o be_v come_v to_o be_v our_o friend_n whereas_o at_o first_o they_o be_v our_o enemy_n so_o that_o in_o that_o regard_n there_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o reconciliation_n but_o because_o i_o conceive_v the_o text_n do_v not_o so_o much_o intend_v that_o we_o shall_v let_v it_o pass_v thus_o you_o see_v how_o god_n be_v in_o christ_n reconcile_n to_o himself_o even_o in_o some_o sense_n the_o very_a angel_n themselves_o this_o then_o be_v the_o first_o thing_n the_o very_a thought_n that_o god_n have_v of_o enter_v into_o any_o term_n or_o parley_v with_o man_n about_o peace_n be_v by_o christ_n that_o the_o lord_n heart_n be_v incline_v to_o man_n it_o be_v from_o christ_n that_o the_o lord_n will_v be_v willing_a to_o accept_v of_o any_o satisfaction_n it_o be_v through_o christ_n that_o we_o have_v a_o access_n to_o god_n any_o way_n it_o be_v through_o christ_n there_o be_v nothing_o from_o the_o one_o end_n of_o the_o work_n of_o reconciliation_n to_o the_o other_o but_o it_o be_v all_o through_o christ_n for_o further_o open_v of_o this_o great_a point_n there_o be_v these_o thing_n to_o be_v propound_v first_o brief_o to_o show_v you_o the_o necessity_n of_o christ_n come_v in_o in_o order_n to_o our_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n and_o likewise_o that_o it_o can_v be_v no_o other_o way_n but_o by_o christ_n second_o how_o chirst_n come_v to_o be_v a_o fit_a reconciler_n three_o what_o it_o be_v that_o christ_n have_v engage_v himself_o to_o and_o perform_v according_a to_o his_o engagement_n for_o our_o reconciliation_n four_o how_o that_o which_o christ_n have_v do_v come_v to_o be_v make_v over_o to_o we_o and_o that_o we_o come_v to_o have_v the_o fruit_n of_o it_o for_o our_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n five_o the_o consequence_n that_o flow_v from_o this_o namely_o that_o our_o reconciliation_n come_v through_o christ_n six_o the_o reason_n why_o god_n will_v be_v reconcile_v to_o we_o through_o his_o son_n rather_o than_o any_o other_o way_n and_o last_o to_o make_v some_o application_n of_o al._n these_o particular_n may_v hold_v we_o some_o time_n but_o because_o we_o often_o meet_v with_o much_o of_o this_o doctrine_n of_o reconciliation_n and_o have_v divers_a time_n before_o and_o be_v likely_a if_o god_n lengthen_v out_o opportunity_n still_o to_o do_v it_o therefore_o i_o intend_v to_o present_v all_o these_o seven_o particular_n before_o you_o in_o a_o very_a short_a view_n chap._n 13._o the_o necessity_n of_o christ_n come_v in_o for_o our_o reconciliation_n for_o the_o first_o the_o necessity_n of_o christ_n come_v in_o for_o our_o reconciliation_n and_o sure_o this_o be_v that_o which_o look_v upon_o every_o trouble_n if_o it_o be_v but_o the_o least_o distemper_n of_o their_o body_n as_o the_o beginning_n of_o eternal_a wrath_n and_o a_o make_v way_n for_o eternal_a misery_n for_o aught_o they_o know_v but_o they_o that_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n it_o be_v their_o weakness_n if_o they_o shall_v look_v upon_o the_o great_a affliction_n they_o meet_v withal_o as_o a_o work_n of_o god_n come_v towards_o they_o as_o a_o enemy_n no_o you_o must_v know_v that_o there_o be_v this_o power_n in_o your_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n in_o christ_n as_o first_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o ever_o god_n do_v towards_o you_o that_o do_v tend_v to_o everlasting_a wrath_n nothing_o whatever_o it_o be_v here_o be_v thy_o comfort_n that_o thou_o may_v build_v upon_o this_o a_o wicked_a man_n may_v have_v a_o great_a many_o favour_n from_o god_n and_o fruit_n of_o his_o patience_n yet_o no_o wicked_a man_n have_v ground_n to_o make_v such_o a_o interpretation_n of_o any_o good_a thing_n he_o enjoy_v from_o god_n as_o to_o think_v that_o this_o do_v tend_v to_o his_o eternal_a good_a so_o those_o that_o be_v believer_n though_o they_o meet_v with_o never_o so_o great_a affliction_n yet_o they_o have_v not_o sufficient_a ground_n to_o make_v this_o interpretation_n of_o those_o affliction_n that_o they_o tend_v to_o their_o utter_a undo_n and_o one_o will_v think_v that_o this_o be_v enough_o on_o the_o other_o side_n for_o man_n to_o believe_v that_o whatsoever_o affliction_n they_o meet_v withal_o in_o this_o world_n the_o wrath_n of_o god_n in_o all_o those_o affliction_n be_v take_v away_o they_o shall_v not_o tend_v to_o their_o ruin_n and_o eeternal_a misery_n that_o though_o the_o affliction_n themselves_o may_v remain_v yet_o the_o poison_n of_o every_o affliction_n which_o be_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n be_v take_v away_o by_o christ_n nay_o whatsoever_o befall_v we_o in_o this_o world_n be_v so_o far_o from_o tend_v to_o eternal_a misery_n that_o it_o be_v through_o the_o love_n of_o god_n tend_v to_o thy_o good_a that_o which_o do_v seem_v to_o be_v most_o cross_a to_o thy_o desire_n yet_o it_o be_v such_o as_o tend_v to_o thy_o everlasting_a good_a in_o christ_n and_o this_o one_o will_v think_v be_v enough_o for_o the_o sattisfaction_n of_o man_n heart_n in_o the_o point_n of_o affliction_n as_o what_o be_v deliver_v before_o may_v be_v enough_o concern_v our_o freedom_n from_o the_o law_n so_o what_o i_o have_v now_o write_v in_o be_v chastened_a for_o our_o sin_n take_v but_o these_o two_o thing_n that_o no_o evil_a no_o chastisement_n that_o shall_v befall_v we_o shall_v tend_v to_o our_o everlasting_a misery_n nay_o nothing_o shall_v befall_v we_o but_o it_o be_v out_o of_o love_n and_o tend_v to_o our_o eternal_a good_a these_o two_o be_v grant_v one_o will_v thing_n one_o may_v grant_v any_o thing_n else_o that_o god_n may_v show_v a_o fatherly_a displeasure_n against_o we_o for_o our_o sin_n though_o not_o as_o a_o revenge_a judge_n that_o god_n may_v exercise_v his_o wisdom_n that_o way_n to_o mannife_v his_o holiness_n and_o how_o he_o disliks_n sin_n etc._n etc._n one_o will_v think_v this_o might_n safe_o be_v grant_v grant_v the_o other_o two_o and_o indeed_o these_o two_o and_o the_o other_o concern_v the_o law_n all_o our_o divine_n that_o be_v orthrodax_n grant_v and_o these_o be_v enough_o to_o satisfy_v we_o about_o the_o free_a grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n and_o believer_n be_v thorough_o revit_v and_o ground_v in_o this_o they_o may_v come_v to_o keep_v the_o assurance_n of_o their_o peace_n with_o god_n for_o what_o shall_v hinder_v either_o their_o sin_n or_o god_n affliction_n now_o neither_o of_o these_o shall_v hinder_v a_o believer_n peace_n but_o that_o he_o may_v be_v able_a still_o to_o preserve_v it_o look_v upon_o god_n through_o christ_n this_o be_v concern_v the_o lose_n of_o the_o assurance_n of_o our_o peace_n through_o weakness_n chap._n 26._o we_o may_v loose_v the_o asserance_n of_o our_o peace_n with_o god_n by_o our_o sinful_a walk_n second_o we_o may_v come_v to_o loose_v our_o peace_n the_o assurance_n of_o our_o peace_n with_o god_n through_o sinfulness_n through_o our_o loose_a and_o carnal_a walk_v with_o god_n by_o this_o mean_v we_o may_v come_v to_o fear_v that_o such_o walk_a can_v stand_v with_o the_o condition_n of_o a_o believer_n and_o then_o indeed_o a_o believer_n be_v put_v to_o a_o nonplus_n and_o it_o will_v be_v a_o great_a while_n before_o he_o can_v be_v satisfy_v in_o the_o other_o like_o walk_v after_o the_o flesh_n as_o indeed_o many_o fall_n so_o foul_o as_o you_o can_v scarce_o perceive_v any_o difference_n between_o one_o that_o work_v after_o the_o flesh_n and_o he_o his_o exceed_o cloud_n the_o light_n of_o god_n favour_n and_o exceed_o hinder_v the_o comfort_n of_o his_o peace_n with_o god_n and_o o_o how_o just_o may_v the_o lord_n abray_v thou_o and_o say_v what_o do_v i_o set_v that_o infinite_a wisdom_n of_o my_o a_o work_n to_o find_v out_o such_o a_o way_n of_o reconciliation_n with_o thou_o and_o be_v it_o worth_a no_o
so_o trouble_v with_o they_o as_o to_o say_v that_o the_o town_n or_o place_n be_v trouble_v and_o we_o can_v never_o be_v at_o quiet_a since_o there_o be_v such_o and_o such_o preach_v be_v there_o not_o infinite_a malice_n it_o can_v never_o enter_v into_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n such_o a_o conceit_n as_o this_o be_v you_o speak_v about_o treat_v of_o peace_n with_o god_n but_o they_o be_v severe_a and_o denounce_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n against_o we_o i_o appeal_v to_o you_o how_o do_v we_o denounce_v they_o do_v we_o denounce_v they_o absolute_a or_o only_o in_o order_n to_o the_o bring_n of_o the_o soul_n to_o faith_n and_o repentance_n what_o do_v we_o plead_v against_o it_o be_v but_o against_o your_o sin_n that_o be_v your_o enemy_n your_o deadly_a enemy_n that_o will_v certain_o undo_v you_o that_o will_v destroy_v you_o eternal_o ahab_n speak_v of_o the_o prophet_n he_o never_o speak_v good_a unto_o i_o and_o yet_o say_v ahab_n have_v i_o find_v thou_o o_o my_o enemy_n he_o look_n upon_o the_o prophet_n as_o a_o enemy_n so_o wicked_a carnal_a heart_n though_o we_o come_v to_o open_v the_o mystery_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o they_o yet_o when_o we_o with_o god_n they_o can_v stand_v together_o at_o the_o same_o time_n it_o can_v possible_o be_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o league_n between_o sin_n and_o your_o soul_n and_o yet_o a_o league_n between_o god_n and_o your_o soul_n now_o which_o of_o the_o two_o do_v you_o think_v be_v the_o best_a and_o who_o be_v your_o great_a friend_n either_o he_o that_o seek_v to_o maintain_v a_o league_n with_o sin_n or_o to_o break_v it_o that_o you_o may_v have_v a_o league_n between_o god_n and_o your_o soul_n this_o be_v the_o intention_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o you_o will_v say_v if_o this_o be_v the_o commission_n of_o the_o minister_n that_o god_n have_v put_v into_o they_o the_o word_n of_o reconciliation_n why_o do_v they_o preach_v the_o law_n so_o much_o as_o they_o do_v why_o do_v they_o preach_v terror_n so_o much_o for_o this_o be_v their_o commission_n the_o word_n of_o reconciliation_n to_o that_o i_o answer_v certain_o he_o be_v a_o minister_n that_o know_v not_o his_o commission_n that_o preach_v the_o law_n or_o any_o terror_n any_o other_o way_n but_o in_o order_n to_o this_o word_n of_o reconciliation_n any_o other_o way_n but_o to_o make_v you_o reconciliation_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o open_v this_o unto_o you_o without_o show_v you_o something_o that_o the_o law_n tend_v to_o reconciliation_n why_o because_o that_o we_o be_v enemy_n to_o god_n enemy_n to_o god_n how_o how_o can_v we_o be_v enemy_n to_o god_n yea_o by_o your_o sin_n how_o shall_v we_o know_v that_o sin_n do_v bring_v enmity_n between_o god_n and_o we_o the_o law_n tell_v you_o curse_v be_v every_o one_o that_o abide_v not_o in_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v write_v in_o the_o book_n of_o the_o law_n to_o do_v it_o when_o we_o speak_v of_o reconciliation_n of_o the_o minister_n speak_v any_o thing_n to_o you_o that_o have_v any_o terror_n in_o it_o do_v but_o persuade_v your_o soul_n of_o this_o o_o but_o this_o be_v in_o order_n to_o my_o peace_n with_o god_n in_o order_n to_o show_v what_o a_o bless_a and_o sweet_a saviour_n jesus_n christ_n be_v but_o other_o will_v say_v the_o word_n of_o peace_n be_v commit_v unto_o you_o why_o do_v you_o speak_v of_o war_n then_o tâ—_n that_o i_o answer_v but_o in_o a_o word_n when_o we_o speak_v to_o you_o concern_v war_n what_o be_v our_o aim_n what_o do_v it_o tend_v to_o but_o only_o this_o that_o you_o may_v be_v willing_a to_o venture_v yourselves_o your_o life_n and_o estate_n to_o maintain_v among_o you_o this_o word_n of_o reconciliation_n here_o be_v the_o end_n be_v it_o not_o for_o must_v not_o expect_v that_o that_o must_v be_v among_o we_o and_o the_o posterity_n that_o be_v come_v after_o it_o may_v be_v some_o of_o you_o may_v know_v that_o since_o god_n have_v call_v a_o parliament_n and_o bless_v it_o as_o he_o have_v do_v never_o be_v the_o word_n of_o reconciliation_n open_v so_o clear_o as_o it_o have_v be_v there_o have_v be_v some_o kind_n of_o preach_v before_o with_o a_o deal_n of_o mixture_n but_o for_o that_o clear_a way_n of_o reconciliation_n your_o conscience_n may_v tell_v you_o that_o be_v have_v not_o be_v so_o clear_o open_v obj._n but_o you_o will_v say_v the_o apostle_n they_o have_v the_o word_n of_o reconciliation_n and_o preach_v it_o to_o the_o people_n but_o they_o do_v not_o preach_v to_o the_o people_n that_o they_o shall_v maintain_v it_o by_o force_n of_o arm_n but_o they_o teach_v people_n to_o suffer_v and_o to_o lay_v down_o their_o life_n and_o not_o to_o take_v the_o sword_n into_o their_o hand_n ans_fw-fr this_o have_v be_v answer_v again_o and_o again_o and_o it_o be_v a_o most_o vain_a objection_n of_o the_o people_n this_o objection_n seem_v to_o be_v strengthen_v partly_o from_o the_o thing_n itself_o they_o say_v religion_n shall_v not_o be_v maintain_v by_o the_o sword_n and_o second_o the_o example_n of_o the_o primitive_a tim_n first_o for_o religion_n know_v that_o the_o maintenance_n that_o
