of_o host_n move_v god_n to_o continue_v his_o anger_n and_o to_o stretch_v forth_o his_o smite_v hand_n still_o this_o doctrine_n i_o chief_o intend_v as_o that_o which_o may_v be_v suitable_a unto_o the_o time_n and_o useful_a to_o we_o all_o the_o worst_a be_v i_o fear_v i_o shall_v not_o have_v time_n to_o speak_v so_o full_o unto_o it_o i_o shall_v therefore_o do_v as_o a_o traveller_n that_o be_v likely_a to_o be_v belate_v pass_v over_o such_o thing_n as_o be_v not_o of_o necessity_n and_o post_n over_o the_o next_o way_n unto_o what_o i_o principal_o intend_v the_o doctrine_n may_v be_v propound_v in_o thesi_fw-la as_o well_o as_o the_o former_a or_o we_o may_v propose_v it_o in_o hypothesi_fw-la it_o will_v be_v useful_a either_o way_n if_o you_o please_v you_o may_v take_v it_o thus_o when_o god_n be_v angry_a with_o israel_n or_o any_o people_n in_o covenant_n and_o smite_v they_o with_o the_o sword_n of_o a_o enemy_n for_o their_o sin_n if_o they_o do_v not_o return_v and_o seek_v the_o lord_n of_o host_n god_n will_v continue_v his_o anger_n and_o stretch_v forth_o his_o hand_n still_o i_o conceive_v the_o doctrine_n for_o the_o ground_n to_o be_v so_o clear_a and_o for_o meaning_n so_o plain_a as_o i_o need_v not_o waste_v time_n which_o we_o shall_v want_v in_o explication_n or_o proof_n for_o the_o ground_n of_o it_o brief_o let_v this_o be_v observe_v that_o whereas_o in_o the_o former_a verse_n he_o have_v avouch_v god_n to_o be_v angry_a still_o and_o still_o to_o stretch_v forth_o his_o hand_n to_o smite_v although_o they_o have_v be_v grievous_o smite_v before_o he_o show_v this_o to_o be_v the_o cause_n and_o just_a ground_n of_o the_o continuance_n of_o anger_n and_o smite_v namely_o that_o they_o do_v not_o turn_v to_o he_o that_o smite_v nor_o seek_v etc._n etc._n so_o that_o this_o reason_n in_o its_o relation_n do_v hold_v forth_o the_o doctrine_n that_o when_o god_n ●s_v angry_a with_o israel_n or_o any_o people_n in_o covenant_n and_o smite_v they_o with_o the_o sword_n of_o a_o enemy_n for_o their_o sin_n if_o they_o return_v not_o neither_o seek_v the_o lord_n of_o host_n he_o will_v continue_v his_o anger_n and_o stretch_v forth_o his_o destroy_a hand_n still_o and_o for_o the_o sense_n only_o in_o general_n for_o i_o have_v not_o time_n to_o speak_v of_o the_o term_n in_o particular_a when_o the_o lord_n bring_v the_o sword_n upon_o a_o people_n to_o cause_v they_o to_o repent_v and_o return_v unto_o he_o they_o continue_v impenitent_a and_o obstinate_a not_o repent_v of_o their_o sin_n and_o yield_v unto_o he_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o cease_v to_o be_v angry_a he_o will_v not_o be_v appease_v nor_o cease_v to_o punish_v but_o will_v go_v on_o and_o multiply_v and_o make_v his_o stroke_n more_o and_o heavy_a than_o they_o be_v before_o for_o so_o much_o be_v employ_v when_o he_o say_v his_o hand_n be_v stretch_v f●rth_o still_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d parata_fw-la ad_fw-la graviores_fw-la body_n as_o there_o be_v of_o enter_v such_o a_o course_n if_o the_o disease_n do_v still_o continue_v and_o the_o same_o reason_n of_o continue_v corrosive_n to_o a_o sore_a as_o to_o apply_v they_o at_o first_o if_o proud_a or_o dead_a flesh_n do_v still_o continue_v the_o same_o reason_n of_o correct_v a_o second_o time_n as_o there_o be_v of_o a_o former_a correction_n if_o a_o offender_n continue_v to_o offend_v and_o this_o be_v true_a whether_o the_o stroke_n be_v for_o punishment_n or_o correction_n reas_n 2_o second_o their_o sin_n be_v now_o more_o sinful_a and_o therefore_o deserve_v more_o anger_n and_o call_v for_o great_a punishment_n for_o first_o they_o improve_v not_o the_o mean_v use_v for_o their_o good_a but_o abuse_v the_o mean_n and_o take_v the_o name_n of_o god_n in_o vain_a second_o they_o add_v contumacy_n to_o their_o sin_n and_o show_v themselves_o to_o be_v obstinate_a so_o as_o their_o sin_n be_v another_o sin_n in_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o
